Just ordered Oxtail, Rice and Peas with a Mac n Cheese side and it was lovely! I ordered from Uber Eats and the food still arrived nice and hot. The portion size was very good and it was well presented. Will defo be ordering from here again!

I’ve been out of country for 16 years (away in 🇨🇦) the last I had 🇯🇲 food was calabache in Ilford back in 2006… I was delighted to discover this hidden 💎 on “Just eats”… now you have to understand good 🇯🇲 food needs cooking well and the indicated wait is well worth it… and if it runs over a bit… I’ve ordered 3 times Oxtail stew dumplings rice peas plantine 10/10 The large lamb chops rice peas dumplings (wonderful sauce with the lamb and tasty lamb cooked perfectly) 10/10 Tonight I shared the curry goat rice peas dumplings. Again 10/10 the large sweet dumplings compliment every dish and the rice a peas served with light fresh veg is splendid. If you’re new to the the cuisine or even a veteran this is truly a hidden gem… world cuisine cooked served and delivered at an exceptional cost. Medium portions with sides can serve two and large would be a large for two (portions are spot on). A taste of Jamaica 💯🎧🏆

This place hasn’t ordered my food at all and it’s calm just watch me get my money back rubbish

I’ve been a regular customer and have always loved the food from here, but I have to say, today’s experience was really disappointing. The chicken was sparse, mostly burnt bones with hardly any meat, and the oxtail was chewy, undercooked, and lacked the usual flavor and kick that I’ve come to enjoy. Consistency is what sets great food places apart, and it’s disappointing to see quality take a hit. I understand times can be tough, but cutting corners shouldn’t come at the cost of your loyal customers’ experience. Sadly, this has left me reconsidering ordering from Taste of Jamaica in the future. I hope things improve because I’ve always enjoyed your food and would love to return someday.

Waited an hour and when food was due for delivery they call me to tell me they dont have the items I ordered. Asked me to cancel the order. Told them they need to cancel on their side said they will but 30 mins later they still havent.

Such a shame because the food tastes good but it came reallly late and the order was missing a banana cake.

Food arrived hot, not too keen on the cardboard style packaging as it was a bit flimsy. Disappointed one of my meals sold out after I made order but appreciated the phone call to let me know and was given option to add a replacement with similar price. I recommend and will order again. Good first time experience thanks.

Greatest Caribbean food around but please consider dropping uber prices! Going large on a meal by £3 plus service charges make one meal (no drink) £18 which makes me just close the basket. Please reconsider uber eats prices and you’ll have regular orders!

I paid 30 pounds for two dishes tjay had no flavour over salted and taste like gravy. I couldnt eat it . Turnt up cold also .. save ur pennies x

The food was fresh and good portions. My Fish meal was nice. The oxtail was cooked well but the flavours were ruined because they put too much pepper in it. I normally get the oxtail for my two granddaughters to share. They have grown up eating lots of pepper in caribbean food yet couldn't eat the oxtail I got for them today as it had far to much pepper in it. Ease up with the pepper chef. People can add there own pepper if they like it that way. Not good for the little ones that peppery.

Where’s my refund? It was cancelled

First time l've ordered from here as well as using Uber Eats. I won't be using either again. 1 item missing but cost appears to be reimbursed on receipt anyway. Should have been told or had a note stating item unavailable. Bun packed with hot food (not appropriate in my opinion). Food was securely packed, properly cooked and arrived hot. Good size portion. However disappointedly tasteless, having read some of the reviews expected it to be better.

Very tasty could have done with more gravy but I really enjoyed the food. I will definitely be ordering again. Thanks guys

I’ve been looking for a good Caribbean take out since moving to the area and they did not disappoint. At first I thought the price was steep for the size, but once I emptied the contents into a plate I realised it was very sufficient. Will highly recommend the oxtail, rice and peas and mac & cheese. Authentic Caribbean food that tastes good and will definitely be ordering again. Only removed a star because the oxtail to bone ratio could’ve been better, needs more meat pieces.

Normally order from here. However, the delivery driver has no manners and will beat your door down like they’re the police. 0 manners.

I’ve ordered from this place twice. Yesterday I ordered Chicken soup, Pepper Steak and a Beef and Cheese Patty. The Soup 10/10 for taste and quantity, Pepper Steak the same 10/10. Not gonna comment on the patty other than to say it was fresh as we know these were not made by the chef. I enjoyed the food so much, I ordered again today but was really disappointed. I ordered Red Peas soup and Curry Goat. The Soup was very tasty I can’t lie, but where’s the meat? I received 6 bones in my container 👀 not even a slither of meat. I’d say the meat was cooked so soft it must have slipped off the bone and the person sharing the food didn’t take the time and care to ensure the meat was added. The curry goat was not curry goat, it was cooked very succulent but had no taste. I had to put the few pieces of meat they gave me (I ordered a large but the meat portion seemed like a small) in a pot and add little scotch bonnet, curry and pimento to give it a little taste before I could eat it. The rice was smothered in gravy 😩. Hit and miss I’d say so only ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I must add that the customer service was on point, the young man I spoke to on the phone was very polite and even went out of his way to call me back to clarify some information he gave me.

I have ordered from here many, many times and it's always good or better, but tonight was absolutely OUTSTANDING...So much so that I'm about to ring the restaurant to tell them this myself! I ordered large jerk chicken with rice and peas, coleslaw and a dumpling. First of all the food came within 20 min which was very welcome, it was hot on arrival - I've never managed to have a hot dumpling so far, cos I usually pick the food up on foot and walk home with it first! This was an amazing difference to note. The portion of actual chicken in the dish was also a great suprise, tons of it! The jerk sauce was divine and the coleslaw cold and fresh. Hats off to the chefs behind this meal. You've made me one happy girl this evening! Thank you!

Tried out for the first time today. Absolutely loved it. I had curry chicken with rice and peas and a side of plantains. The chicken was falling off the bone tender, juicy and the flavor of everything perfectly complemented each other. I also got the fruit punch flavored Kool-aid and it was PERFECTLY sweet. Not too much and not bland. I definitely recommend this spot!

First time trying yesterday on Uber Eats. I've ordered from many similar Jerk chicken places in Ilford. Ordered jerk chicken, wings mac and cheese. It's was top notch, everything and will be ordering again. I hope I can also request a tub of jerk sauce next time.

That is definitely the last time ! Food and Service used to be fantastic last time I waited over an hour and they cancelled 😠 spent £34 to have to order somewhere else and wait days to get my hard earned money back. Like a fool I ordered again this evening no steam veg sent so again have to wait to be refunded ; the Mac and cheese portion for £5 was an absolute joke less than what you get as a side in the meal , I ordered large pepper steak and got 3/4 box of rice barely any meat at the cost of £14 most expensive rice and gravy ever! Never ever ordering from here again officially cancelled! It’s a lot of money to spend to not receive what you order or just not receive it at all

I ordered the chicken soup, peppered steak and dumpling. Was pleasantly surprised the food was delicious! Proper home cooked soup and the peppered steak was soft and full of flavour. I was initially a little worried because of the reviews but I really enjoyed my meal

Food was awful. Ordered chicken curry. Was more like stewed chicken. Had no taste and the chicken was just bones chopped up. Will definitely not be going back there. Ordered fried chicken with macaroni cheese. Fried chicken was 2 tiny drumsticks that looked like they had been cooked hours ago. Waste of money!

Honestly one of the worst meals I've had. Clearly an establishment lacking in integrity. Ordered a curry chicken meal and plantain via uber eats they sent me bones and gravy with no chicken and the plantain was so black, burned and stale. £16 for rice basically. All round joke ting & I just seen them have a 3 * hygiene rating. No sah. Do better it's shocking and embarrassing. Would not recommend to anybody.

I thought that I would try out the patties. They were hot. However, they were heated in a microwave of some other way that caused them to be soggy and greasy. This caused them to smell greasy and I was put off eating them. I have tries patties in Hackney and they are hot and flaky not soggy. Sorry I will not try again and would like a refund

Clean, fresh and tasty. We almost went elsewhere but as the other place was closed we found this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. We were able to eat in after short wait and really enjoyed our meal. The only downside would be that they don’t take card and their customer engagement could be improved a little in terms of language they use to converse with customers. But other than that a nice find for some authentic Carribean grub!

Don’t order from here I ordered a order over £60 worth of food and an hour later we got a Indian food order turn up and restaurant told us to call just eat to get a refund I was left out of pocket and no food for my children to eat this evening disgusting service it’s 6 o clock I have no food I’m left with someone else’s order if you want your food to come to you at home don’t go here paid for food and a delivery fee and don’t have anything till I get my refund

I thoroughly enjoyed my stew chicken and rice and peas with a portion of plantain. Piping hot when the food arrived and everything tasted fresh out of the pot! Very tasty indeed.

Nice bunch of lads who work there and you get good portions. I recommend the oxtail.

The food was not nice at all. The curry goat was hard meat and dry. Not stew. The chicken was absolutely dry and hard. Disaster meal, which is very much a shame.

My hubby liked the curried chicken & rice it was ok, I thought the curried goat was nice , the rice was ok , sadly the ox tail was undercooked and the Mac & cheese was also very salty , I didn’t enjoy either . I don’t know what happened to the plantin but it was really dark ( sorry wasn’t nice ) . After all the good reviews it disappointed us . It was ok. Please don’t take offence as I am a chef as well but I think the Mac & Cheese should be in a different container not with the other dishes .

Made me wait a while to collect. Main meal was so filled that the curry sauce inside spilt on my kitchen floor so they need to get better containers. Followed the notes to make it spicy but needed to cut down on the salt. Fresh, authentic and big portions, just a lot of bones for the chicken.

I cannot speak highly enough on this place. I eat a plant-based diet and not only did they accommodate, they excelled. The food is simply fantastic and the service is equally top-draw. Eat in or takeaway. Prices that saw me buying 2 meals and eating one in the restaurant and taking the other home for Ron (Later Ron)!!! Very young, vibrant and friendly staff that didnt give the impression they were simply clocking in/out. In a world where I believe many Caribean Restaurants/Takeaways are found wanting, One Love restaurant is an absolute breath of fresh air. A 5 star experience that has me yearning for one of their meals just by writing about it. It is my pleasure to recommend One Love Restaurant. Bravo Maestro.
