Staff are rude and put the wrong items in my order.

Chips uncooked raw and the drinks stink of fish?

Pizza used to be superb but I don’t know if it’s changed hands but the last 2 have been lacking. The size has reduced and price gone up. I ordered double pepperoni and received the same amount as the previous order where I ordered 1 portion of pepperoni . This equates to one small pepperoni per slice of pizza, when I expect it to be covered. Won’t be ordering again. Shame, but now we can get domino’s for the same price it’s too little and too expensive. 2 places in Northfield offer better portions and value.

Used to be a nice place but lately they overcharge you for subpar food. Chips still frozen or they say there making fresh and give the the scraps from the last lot. The people working there are rude and obnoxious.

As I've just put on Just Eat NEVER AGAIN!!!! 1 CHILLI SAUCE Kebab with a little donner meat lettuce 3 doorstops Cucumber,1 mint sauce kebab with a bit of meat lettuce 2 doorstops Cucumber & 2 transparent tomato skins with Frozen FRIES as hard as bullets. AVOID IF POSSIBLE. WE WILL BE FROM NOW ON!!! The only reason for one star is because they do no less...otherwise it would be -10+!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chips were under cooked hard cold but with soggy bits in . Pizza no flavour! All in all the bin is full . ! 🤮

we got a deal of 2 pizzas, a cone of chips, 500ml bottle of coke and garlic bread. first off the pizza was tiny for a large pizza. it seemed like a medium and was really bland, even a frozen pizza had better taste than these pizzas. we called the “manager” who proceeded to shout at us in a violenty vigorous manor. we tried reasoning with him to which he started shouting more. food was cold and garlic bread tasted like cardboard. will not be ordering from here again. lastly, we were given the wrong price by just eat about the deal. on just eat it was £22.99 for the deal when on their menu it stated it was £17.99. i feel utterly ripped off and disgusted with how the manager presented hisself towards me and my friend on the phone. we were made unaware of the sizing of the pizzas so were shocked when a large arrived that small.

Not overly impressed this time round, chips were definitely reheats, asked for ALL the salad and was only given lettuce not a cucumber, tomato or onion to be seen in my tray. Staff were pleasant but the food is more important to the buyer 😔

I visited here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I opted and ordered for the cod & chips at a competively priced £6.99 Didn’t have to wait too long (5-10 mins) and the fish ‘n’ were chips cooked from fresh. The fish was a very respectable modest size & was very tasty. Best cod tasted in the area for a while & chips were spot on. When the weather gets better I will return fairly soon.

Popped in to get a fish supper. Service was generally good, but a bit of a wait, however, they cooked the fish while I waited, so not to bothered. Once home, the fish was brilliant, hot, well cooked, and very tasty. The chips were not up to their usual standard, a bit scrappy, small and soggy. Although there was plenty of them for a small portion. Has not put me off, but I would have expected better chips for the £17 charge.

i had a delicious supper of fish and chips. The service was top notch, great to see a service with a smile which is rare these days.

My mum ordered from this company last night, didn't receive the food, they said they left it in a 'safe place' to which she wasn't notified of. They said they knocked although they hadn't, she put on the note to use the bell as she is hard of hearing. They never done that. When she phoned them today to see if the money had been taken they got nasty with her saying its her problem she didn't hear the knock of the door. My brother was also there at the time and didn't hear the door either.. it was meant was meant to have been delivered at 1.40 am and the place was quiet so no way they wouldn't have heard it. They never found the food and they are refusing to refund the money claiming its her fault. Completely rude and unprofessional to speak to a customer in that tone. I will be popping in next time I'm in the area to speak about this face to face. Completely unacceptable!ttttt

Went with family today for a celebration , staff were very friendly and accommodating. Quality of food was outstanding! Very pleasant decor and atmosphere. Overall very happy with the quality of food and the service provided . Would highly recommend , there was a large group of us and we were all as pleased . Had a great time . Thank you for making our day out such a good one 👌🏻

We orderd TEN family size pizzas for our new years eve party which some being special orders. Absolutely perfect and delicious 😋 Delivered on time piping hot. Thanks

Further edit Jan 2023: Ever since this place was taken over by new management, it has steadily gone downhill to the point where we now will no longer use it due to the poor quality of the food and bad service. Such a shame as the was a favourite eatery for many locals and the new owners have ruined it. ,............................................................................................. Edit 2022: this place has recently had new management and a change in menu and hasnt been quite as good since the change so i have dropped a star its still one of the best in the area but the quality has slipped slightly and they have removed a few meal deal options from the menu that were out regular favourites so we use it a bit less than we used to now. Original review: Absolutely the best Pizza/Chip shop in the area. The best chippy chips we've had in years and the pizza is also delicious! Not to mention all the other options on the menu and great meal deals on offer - makes a visit here as cheap as, well, chips!! Absolutely recommend to anyone :)

Had a New Years Eve takeaway meal. Delicious food, would recommend their chicken kebabs with chilli sauce.Service great. Guys behind the counter were friendly. Will defiantly go there again to try other items in the menu.

Wouldn't even put 1 star if I had a choice, ordered a pizza £16.99 and they normally come big pizzas this time was the size of a kids pizza very small phoned to complain and was told prices have gone up so the price I used to pay for a big pizza is now the price they charge for a small pizza, the chips are very expensive nearly £4 for chips and they are awful me and my family have been loyal customers for years and years will not be ordering from here again. Shame its under new management.

Won’t be ordering again. We used to order often and the food was great.. twice this week the food has been awful. The fries/chips recooked and waited 2 hours for delivery. Never used to be like this. Bloody awful.. stay away

Ordered my pizza, buy 1 get 1 free extra large , can’t believe they have changes the method of making the pizza , ordered pizzas , mine was a bbq base with kebab , chicken , jalapeño and sweetcorn. Waited no pizza , the lady then checked and my order was not there , had to wait e longer. Finally got pizza drove home , they had forgot. My kebab meat on my pizza. Called to complain, told the business has changed hands , pizza was rubbish , won’t be going back. Rubbish food but charging the same price !!!

Chips were over cooked, curry sauce was curry flavoured water. Kebab was tiny, was supposed to large. Burger was nice.

Ordered 2 pizzas took over an hour to get 10 mins down the road , phoned 3times got told it’s on the way , last time he said driver said gate was shut , I said that’s amazing I don’t have a gate !!! Then he was down right rude and put phone down , the pizzas were cold and tasted of salt , absolutely discusting and discusting service and if this is the best just eat have I won’t be using either again !! I wouldn’t rate one star if I didn’t have to avoid !!!

Ordered 2 pizzas, 1 hot and spicy and 1 chicken kebab pizza, ordered through the Taste of Italy website the only drop downs that was marked that was on the chicken kebab pizza was mushrooms and tomatoes i had said no to both of them, then the pizzas came and the chicken kebab pizza had onions on it, i had called the shop to explain the issue and all i had was no responsibility taken by them self but instead blamed me for not writing in the box no onions when im unaware that the pizza comes with onions ? how am i supposed to know that the pizza comes with onions when this wasnt stated, i asked them to swap the pizza and they said no the manager wouldnt speak to me himself on the phone but was telling his colleague what to say on the phone. myself and my fanily have been using this chip shop for years and years! lost themselves alot of loyal customers. i had to leave atleast 1 star as it wouldnt not let me leave none but if i had a choice they wouldnt be getting any stars. dont recommend especially if you have allergies and they are sending out pizzas with ingredients on that you are unaware of the customer service is shocking how they argue with you instead of taking responsibility. the old owners was great what a shame they have been taken over. The chips was cold and soggy and loke they had been dipped in greece 5 times over. very disappointed.

Sadly the meat was dry in the mixed kebab wrap and the portion of chips was made with green potatoes and had no taste. Very disappointing.

Incredibly poor. Pizza toppings had been sloshed around in transit and had come off the base so when it arrived it was all just oozing out the pizza box holes and I'm left with a circle of pizza base. Chips tasted odd, I believe old oil having worked in a chip shop years ago. Onion rings not cooked properly/barely cooked. Driver didn't give two sheets. No offer of refund (shouldn't have to ask). Will not return and I'd advise to not try. Should have read these reviews.

Unfortunately the food seems to have gone downhill lately. We were not happy with pizza that we ordered a few months ago and then tonight we had fish and chips. My fish was fine but my wife's tasted off and had the smell of ammonia. To the credit of the guy that i spoke to on the phone,after ringing back myself when i was told a manager would ring when i rang the first time to raise the complaint, i was offered the meals again but i declined as we were both sick after smelling the fish and we weren't to hungry after that. This was our go to for over a decade and sadly i will not eat there again. Very dissapointing. Again, the staff that i spoke to were very polite and professional. I wouldn't usually go out of my way to write a bad review but i feel that this is a potential risk to health and feel this information should be available. Maybe i was unlucky.

Shocking place!! They will give you microwaved pasta with no sauce nor flavour. They microwave the chicken too, ends up coming like a piece of rubber. it would be good for you to order from elsewhere and avoid this foul place like the plauge!! 🤢🤢🤢

Great choice of various foods, fish and chips we had were good quality at a reasonable price. Staff were cheery! Need to repair the front door though as the waiting was freezing!

We have used Taste of Italy for many years, it has always been our favourite place to order pizza. Apparently they have new owners who appear to be making cuts by putting cheap meat on the pizza, they were awful, the pepperoni didn’t even taste like pepperoni! Unfortunately won’t be ordering from here again for Pizza. Looking at other reviews it seems even the chips aren’t nice either!

Ordered the food online, waited an hour with nothing (I live 5 minnutes away) called up and was told it just left. Called again after another 30 minute wait and told again it was just leaving so I asked to have it cancelled and I was abruptly hung up on. Don't recommend.

Since the take over the place has gone massively down hill

Cheese burger was beautiful but the chippy chips were cold kinda bad overall service was pretty good.

Failed to print my order of at shop, I had to call them to see where my order was, food was delivered well over an hour after it was due to be delivered, not good pizza was dry and tasteless.

Ordered food it took over 1 hr to arrive half the order missing it took me 82 calls to get through said they would send it out never arrived it took me 2 hrs of complaining on the website all they offered me back was 2.99 absolute joke will never eat from here again takeaways are a treat nowadays i have noticed that all the reviews people are missing things from there order yet have paid for it they should be ashamed

Delivery time is absolutely shocking, left waiting 2 hours over the time stated. Shop took the phone off the hook so always engaged so couldn't ask for an update. When food arrived it was cold and 3 out of 6 items missing they then had to redeliver the missing items and only 2 shown up, so I gave up. Never use this place!!!!

I placed my order some of my family around they paid fish and chips for my dad and the rest of my family ordered as well, I ordered 2 large fish only had 1 delivered, my dad and my brother said the chips was absolutely poor they looked like the scraps what you would chuck in the bin at the end of the night. The order was completely cold, normally they are very good but 2 day the order was missing and cold and not good enough to eat.

Taste of Italy was always my go to takeaway, the last few times I have ordered it hasn’t been very nice, I’m guessing the change in management has something to do with this! The chips tasted normal but my pizza, the one I always order was completely different and pretty tasteless, the new peri chicken wings were very dried out and tasted very powdery, such a shame as takeaways aren’t very cheap anymore and only having a treat every so often you look forward to it!

We ordered our food for 6 o clock and it came 2 hours early with a different drink to what we ordered and only one bag of cheesy chips when we ordered 2 and they were stale with a hair in them. The garlic bread was burnt stiff and the only thing was was decent was the pizza.

could not get my regular order as computer system failiure when placing order used to take an hour so it was hot and fresh but now 30mins cold underdone chips sadly after many years of using will not be using again totally inedeble wasted money on family treat

Was really disappointed this evening. Lived in Rubery for 30 years and this has been our favourite takeaway. Ordered via Uber Eats, arrived after nearly an hour with one item off our order missing. When we rang to ask why we were told it is no longer on the menu????? The menu was pushed through the door this week?? So one of us went without our food! Won't be ordering again!!!!!

This used to be my fave place for mini fish chips and curry sauce but omg I will not be returning after my last visit. I got half a pot of curry sauce the service was so slow and the quality of the food was awful, chips tasted old and really really greasy. They have new menu boards with no prices on them, just awful it's has gone downhill quicker than Jonas Vingegaard riding in the Tour de France. The only thing that was up was the price nearly £8.00 for mini fish chips and 1/2 a pot of curry sauce I'm not too sure if it's changed owners but you will not be having my money again.

Absolutely fabulous pizza, greek salad, fish and chips. Outstanding, 5 stars all the way.

Prices have gone up from around £13 for meal deal consisting of 2 pizzas and chips and drink to £19 which I thought was steep. Anyway I still ordered as a treat. Pizzas have gone really down in quality. Mine was very dry and had not 1, but 3 black hairs on! Went straight in the bin and will not be returning. I’ve used this place since I was 15 years old , almost 18 years now.

Don’t know what has happened to this takeaway had kabab the other week seems to have shrunk to half the size and just ordered 2 pizzas hardly any meat on them will not be ordering again

Ordered from here on a Friday night, was told delivery would be with me within the hour, took an hour and 20 mins which was fine I expected it to take a bit longer as it was Friday night, food arrived lukewarm/cold. Garlic bread was cold and pizza was on the verge of going cold cheese had started to go solid(not melted and gooey as you expect) cheesy chips were warm with plenty of cheese on.

We waited over an hour for cold pizza and chips to be delivered, Why offer a service you can’t deliver on, I don’t care it’s Friday and your busy, get more staff then! I’ll wait! but not then for it to turn up cold, you don’t deserve to be busy, it will be a long time before we decide to even try you again!

I have had some terrible fish and chips in my life but these are with out doubt the worst! The grease covered the entire meal, it honestly made me gag! I’m sorely disappointed and will not be using this place again!

Have been using this place for years, the Pizzas are amazing and in my opinion better than Dominos and Bens. The portions are generous and good value for money. The only criticism is they could make the batter crispier.

Disgusting customer service the man who just answered the phone called me annoying for asking for a mini fish chips special which I have ordered many times before from here this is not the first time he has been rude on the phone I will not be ordering from here again Disgusting 😑

Tragic service!!! Went in last night.. didn't realise they were getting ready to close, staff were so rude, didn't get acknowledged for at least a minute, could of said " hi luv, be with you in a minute" too busy going over till receipts!! The boss man finally came over to me, still was miffed that I was even there.. asked for a kids pizza meal.. asked of they had any Roe, he said yes, I asked if he could show me.. he said" we have Roe! Still rude in speaking with me..will not order from here again!!!!

The best pizza in the whole wide world love it

Used this take away for year's now, since it first opened, my grown-up kid's use it, it's great for both collection and a good delivery service, good sized portions especially the Cod! Superb quality and good value for money. I whole heartedly recommend this chippy and the Pizzas are really good, my wife's favourite is a small garlic and cheese pizza. Never ever had a problem with the food or the delivery service, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Please don't ever change what you do or how you do it. It's simply perfect, well done to you all. I've moved out of the area now, not too far, but I still travel back on a chippy night as me and the family all prefer your food.

We order delivery fish and chips tonight and this place has definitely gone down hill it use to be very good but the last few times chips have been vile fish looked and tastes like it hade been left wormed up in cabinet all day not going to use it in future should be trying to keep customers with the lock down gping on but no they dont care about there customers and the manager is very rude.

This place had gone down hill... the chips are bruised & soggy.. they’ve had the same menu for years seems like they don’t want to try new things.. the manager is rude to his staff his customers & I’ve also seen him rude to people on the phone..don’t know how this place is still going.. if I was part of his staff I would of left ages ago.. hopefully this place gets took over real soon & they sort there menu out & look after their staff.., the staff are wonderful.. shame about the manager!!!!

Brilliant staff, brilliant food at low prices can't beat the kebabs!.

One of the great takeaways in this area of Brum. All the usual chip shop stuff is great, but the pizzas are outstanding. Been ordering here for 10 years and on the occasions I've been elsewhere they just don't compare. Never had an order delivered late though perhaps the occasional sauce or drink forgotten but it's exceptionally rare. Just superb. Staff always lovely to which is of course a plus :)

I have been using this place since it opened. Always had excellent service. Today however I have had the most arrogant rude man talk to me so aggressively on the phone. In the end I said just cancel my order I will not line the pockets of people who feel it's ok to speak to loyal customers the way this man did to me. Taste of Italy you need to retrain yoyr staff on answering the phone and customer service .

The pizzas from here are the best in the area. The staff are polite and the deliveries are quick. The kebabs arent that good and the meat is cut really thin which I presonally dont like. The portion sizes are massive so really good value for money.

A really really good fish and chip shop. Portions are usually big, prices are good and you don't really have to wait that long. Staff are nice and friendly too. I've ordered in a few times and the food has always arrived quick. The only downside I have encountered is that they don't always have pepsi max.

I have been using this chip shop for years and I’ve always recommended it but this evening I rang up for a single child’s meal as I have done on many occasions to be spoken to by the owner or manager of the shop so rudely and told they don’t do phone orders for a single child’s meal which may I say the girls have done on many occasions

You can only have the chicken they so proudly display as long as it hasnt been 'sold' like every time i ask for it. Plenty of other chip shops aroynd here yoy know if you dont want my business. Very poor will never ever use you again
