Frankie and Benny's in Birmingham

I was reluctant to go but it fitted in with what else we were doing.I wasn’t happy with the menu. My daughter was ok with it. I chose lasagna, she had chicken wings and sweet potato fries. She seemed relatively happy. When mine arrived with the earring “. the plate is hot, be careful” you knew what you were in for.To my surprise, it was worse. Warm in part, chilled in another. I asked for it to be changed to be told “ he’s doing you a fresh one now”.When it arrived the topping was burnt to a crisp and the steam coming off it was non stop. The cook had obviously doubled the time in the microwave from last time.It was tasteless. I assured myself this would be my last visit ever.The one shining star in all this chaos was Chelsea, our waitress. Bright, efficient, cheery and very apologetic. Too good for this placeIn fairness I was charged for the lasagna. I wouldn’t have paid for it anyway!

I came here today with my family, we didn’t anticipate how quite it would actually be and even we felt worried for the staff, however despite all going on the two girls serving, Chelsea and Ellie (Thankyou for the card to remind me) we’re so happy and positive the whole time! I just want to say hats off to them! And for the chefs the food was delicious. Thankyou for making the world just seem slightly normal for an hour or so! I’m wishing the best for the two girls and hope we will see them again! Thankyou!

A birthday family group of 9, with numerous questions and requests, all dealt with in a friendly way with a smile. The food was all served in a good time and tasty, kids meals were amazing value for money. The service by Chelsea and the on duty manager, was by far the best ever received there. They made everything so easy and run smoothly. Can not thank them enough.

I was here a few weeks ago and decided it was time for another trip, another fantastic service, once again by Chelsea and Aaron, both servers took thier time to see if we was ok or needed anything, everything was great and there was hardly a wait for my food so props to the chefs for that as it did get busy at one point. i have a feeling this may become a regular visit for me and my family.

I asked my very friendly and accommodating waitress Ellie if the chef would mind preparing me something that was no longer on the menu, the chef (sorry didn’t get her name, she had blonde hair) thankfully obliged. I had a chicken al forno and it did not disappoint, it was simply gorgeous and very tasty. I personally thanked the team and appreciated how attentive Ellie was to our table considering we were short on time.Overall we had a very pleasant experience, the food and service was immaculate.Well done and many thanks.☺️

Came here today with a large party. The lady serving us - we think her name was Ellie but we can't quite remember - was very helpful even though I am sure we were stressing her out with all the requests. Thanks for sorting us all out!

Just want to say a massive Thankyou to the two ladies working last night, I believe one was a manager and the young girl who served us Chelsea, even with the card payment down they were so professional and got us everything we needed and helped us understand the online app. Brilliant service.

Last night we decided to do our valentines with our children, we was served by a lovely girl called Chelsea, my youngest son suffers with adhd and was playing up slightly due to the busyness of the night however Chelsea seemed to show some experience with this and made the whole night better, nothing was too much to be asked even when my son was following her around asking numerous times for his food. The food was lovely and served warm, my son actually ate his whole dinner which never usually happens so props to everyone on that! Very well controlled night and nice to see so many staff around and available to help! Thankyou for putting my family at so much ease, so much so we had an even better night then first anticipated!

We came with a big group just over a week ago and were cared for by Bradley. He worked really hard and went the extra mile to help us out. Food and drinks were great and all came as quickly as we'd liked. Fab!

I visited here last night with my family, I had not returned to this frankie and bennys In years as I felt like it had lost it touch. However we decided to try it again and what a change around! As soon as we walked in the building was warm and we was greeted by so many smiles off staff and those within the kitchen, we spoke to a young girl called Chelsea, who informed us of all the staff and we so please to see the managers out the front supporting their team. We met the assistant manager Lauren I think her name was who passed us our food she was ever so friendly and polite. I feel like this is just what the place needed fresh faces! My husband has already asked when shall we book the next mealIn! Thankyou for making some very happy customers last night!

Me and my friend came for dinner tonight and was pleasantly greeted at the door by a lovely lady, looking on the receipt her name was Jules. She always goes above and beyond to make your experience a good one. She always goes out of her way even when she is busy to make a conversation and take her time to see how our days have been. I have been coming to Frankie and bennies for ages now as my local casual place to eat and she has served me many times and always been so lovely. Definitley shouldnt go unoticed for her hard work and for her lovely smiley self showing everyone what customer service really should be like so thank you for always being lovely!!!! :)

Got an email about Meatloaf - interesting choice of person to have on your advert! Didnt really liked it but was intrigued by your menu. Mushroom Bianca was nice. Didnt have room for dessert but will try again another day. Well done for trying to be vegan.

I came in today with my wife as i thought i treat her as she loves this restaurant. been a while since we last came. the man who served us was fantastic. the only minor problem was the food taken a while to arrive. but other then that we enjoyed our self. see you soon

Popped in for a bite to eat after visiting the QE hospital and was a tad dubious as a few of the chains we’ve been to of this restaurant in the past have not been overly good. Was pleasantly surprised, the food was lovely and came out relatively quick, but still was fresh. The manger Jamie was very attentive and polite and it was clear he was this way towards the rest of the customers that was in the company of the restaurant. Will definitely be returning.

We are local to this restaurant and have had several good meals but last 2 have been not so good.

I visited F&B;'s with friends for Sunday lunch. Our waitress Julie never fails to deliver. She is an incredible asset to F&B; and is a main reason we will keep visiting the restaurant. She's always on hand to offer friendly food advice and service. Delicious food too!

Came for a meal with 2 other people food was awful their customer service skills was awful also. I will not be visiting again waste of money and time. Avoid this

Me and 2 of my friends visited on Friday night. The staff are just fantastic - the waitress Ellie was THE BEST.. seriously she was incredible, service was fantastic, food was great. We can’t wait to come back.

Just had a lovely meal here with family. I have a severe allergy and our server Jamie asked straight away if any of our party had any allergies. Both Jamie and Jules were brilliant at excluding the allergen and were extremely friendly and professional. They made the evening very enjoyable and relaxed.

We were a family gathering of 6 adults and 2 children and we needed a quick turnaround before attending an evening concert. We had booked online in advance asking to be served quickly and they obliged with no fuss.

Today we visited for lunch. Entering we were greeted by Laura, who showed us to our table. I would say she was running around doing Three jobs at once.

My daughter had graduated in July but we’d waited until last week to celebrate as my brother was visiting from USA. She chose this restaurant. I’d booked a table for 7:30. As usual we arrived slightly early. We had to wait for at least 6 minutes for anyone to greet us. We were told that we would have a 10 minute wait. Not a problem we thought. After half an hour we were still waiting, with no apologies. Eventually we got a table and finally ordered our food at about 9:15. The food was ok but nothing to shout about. We finally left the restaurant at about 10:15. Only 3/4 servers for a full restaurant.....not good enough. It’s definitely put us off going not only to that branch but ANY branch of this restaurant.

We wanted to write a thank you to Ellie,our friendly,helpful sunny waitress.We don’t go to Frankie and Bennys often and not for breakfast but it was great.She was fab from the start&we; used the voucher off line.It was a treat&she; should be commended on her excellent customer service even though it was so lovely outside and she was working until the restaurant closed at 11pm&we; we’re complete strangers.

Our party was 3 adults and 2 young children our table server was kind and helpful even when I had misordered one child's burger she offered to swap it. The adult burgers were good if a tad small for "ultimate" burger. One adult had pasta which lacked much sauce so she graded food as poor.

The service was horrendous. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all there was only a few customers. Our server sat us down and we asked for a couple minutes to see what we would like. We were ready to order and we called him over as he wasn’t coming to us and he said he’d be one moment but he didn’t come back until 15 minutes later. There was food being left all along the hot plate and all of the waiters were walking straight past the food. I could see my starter on the side and our server looked at it and walked off. About 20 minutes had past and another waiter eventually gave me my starter. Then I finished that and the waiter placed our hot food in front of us before he moved my starter. I saw it and I was disgusted at what I was presented with. I tasted it and it was freezing cold and felt horrible in my mouth and I couldn’t eat it. Our servers personal hygiene was very low, his service was not efficient at all, he was wondering around not taking the plates along with the rest of the waiters, which led to the food getting cold and my mac and cheese to split and curdle. Would not recommend here at all!!

Normally a big Frankie’s and Benny’s fan but this visit was pretty average

Came here for a quick bite to eat at lunch. The restaurant was busy but well staffed. We were served by Jamie, who was polite, attentive and even helped us with the menu, due to a few dietary requirements within my party. The food was fresh and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble and we can’t wait to come back again.

I've been here a few times and usually have a successful visit. Yesterday, however, was not. We were badgered for our order before we sat down but then had to wait ages. The starters were festering on the serving counter. The bacon in the potato skins was fatty and hardly cooked. The spaghetti main was a tasteless lump of ragu dumped on cold pasta. Yuk. The garlic bread was just swimming in oil. The bill was just short of £40 when queried nearly £8 for two comes when we had only one refillable one. That was refunded. Service in the main was good . It's a shame about the quality of the least Italian, Italian food I have ever tasted

Visited yesterday absolutely awful experience , we arrived and seated quickly in an almost empty restaurant with 3 waiting staff , once seated ordered drinks immediatly that didn’t arrive ! On ordering our food we again asked for our drinks ! Ordered spaghetti Bol and a chicken burger , spaghetti Bol and beef burger arrived ! We informed the waitress after we had taken the burger bun too off , who said she would rectify her mistake , she immediatly came back with chicken burger saying she had picked up wrong burger from servers ! Then proceeded to serve the beef burger that we had messed with to another customer !!

Primera visita a una Frankie y Bennys esta noche. Las bebidas llegaron bastante rápido, pero la camarera tardó 20 minutos en tomar nuestro pedido de comida. Luego el principal tomó más de 40 minutos y el pudín alrededor de 30 minutos. La calidad de la comida era bastante buena, aunque las porciones eran bastante pequeñas y el Tiramasu de mi esposa estaba congelado en el medio.

Order took almost an hour to come with no mention of why. 1 pizza and 2 kids meals, lots of people who came in after us had their food sooner. We did get an apology when the food was nearly ready and the offer of a free drink but it was too late by that stage. Even when we did order a refill of the kids drinks they were forgotten. Our pizza was not cooked in the middle. We are regular customers but that will change after this experience.

When eventually acknowledged and shown to a table, the waiter (chewing gum) asked if we wanted drinks, I asked what lager was on draft and the reply was "it'll tell you in there", pointing to a menu!! The food was poor, my meal had the coleslaw missing, my husbands the onion rings. We asked for the bill and ten minutes later this hadn't appeared, nor had our plates been cleared. We paid online and left.

I haven’t been to frankie and benny’s for years, after a few bad experiences, but this visit really turned that around! The food was amazing - plenty of options for the three vegans in my family and we all left happy. Shout out to Ellie for the amazing service too! :)

We've been coming here for many years one and off. The service has always been good, yes, there is a wait for food but its busy every time we go! Thank you on our last visit to Ash for the excellent customer service. Lots of offers and vouchers available on their website to use

Went to the Selly Oak one after being in hospital all day and not having any lunch. I had the offer of burger and chips for £5 on my app. Got seated quickly and didn't have to wait too long for my order. Aaron who took my order was very pleasant and attentive, although very busy he still made time to make sure I was happy with my order along with serving a large family opposite me. The waffle dessert was lush but could have been a little warmer. I got the bill straight after asking for it. A great member of staff who should be valued.

Excellent food and service, Ellie in particular was brilliant, we all had a great time and the food was great....my son was delighted when they had the happy birthday music and got him a cake with a candle!!

Oh dear, this is the second time in two weeks that I have visited and found it wanting. The first time was a weekday evening. The staff were rushed off their feet, we waited for 30 minutes before we were able to flag down a staff member to get a drink then a further 10 minutes elapsed before I went in search of a staff member to take our food order. We did not have to pay for drinks or coffees as the staff were most apologetic and took these off the bill but the night was spoiled.

Great breakfast as always. Even though it was a lot busier than usual the staff were great, especially Julie our waitress :-)

So it's bank holiday Easter weekend saturday night and i have the munchies where do i take the good lady and i ?, ok Frankie and Bennies not been there for a little while so we roll up at our chosen branch Selly Oak Birmingham. Walked right in and seated within minutes cant be bad i asked to be seated away from a noisy party no problem so given a seat by the window. We were served by Jules have seen her before a really nice down to earth funny lady with good service skills a credit to F&B.; Food ordered and presented god them spicy chicken wings are hotter than i remembered but oh so good, cant fault the steak cooked to perfection so a dam good experience, good food at a fair price and a nice atmosphere. One thing i did not expect was for a Saturday night it was very quiet we completed our visit by 10pm and we were the last diners out a good eating experience and a big up to jules our server done a great job attentive but not intrusive wish more were like her.

We had to visit somewhere local and decided to visit here as we had a Groupon voucher. We arrived at around 11.20am, was seated and handed breakfast menus. We didnt realise frankie and bennys did breakfast so it maybe would have been appropiate to advise customers on arrival that the main menu isnt served until 12pm. We visited the local shops to pass some time until the main menu was being served which wasnt a problem. I was disspaointed at first because I felt ignored at the door, it took quite a while to be ackowledged properly even though they saw us we wasnt spoken to. We was sat down promptly and from then on we received absolutey a* service from Jules. She was professional, approachable and friendly from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble to her. She met our every need and made conversation with us, enough to make us feel valued but not so much that she neglected other customers. It was obvious the restaurant was short on the ground today which may explain the toilets feeling pretty grotty, however, the service we received truely was fantastic. The food was served in good time and piping hot, something you dont often get these days. Jules was clearly stretched however this didnt hinder her hospitality at all. We really enjoyed our visit and hope that Jules receives the credit she deserves. Just afew tweaks eg) regarding advising of breakfast menu maybe, cleaner toilets etc, but overall we was happy with our visit. Thanks again (Jules!)

Han pasado años desde que he estado en Frankie & Bennys debido a mudarse de casa. Lo recuerdo abriendo por el cine en rubery birmingham y fue genial. Encantador lugar encantadora comida, etc. Así que, como estaba en Roble, vi f & be's y pensamos que tendremos el almuerzo. El lugar interior estaba bien. La anfitriona fue muy útil. Pedimos dos entrantes y una hamburguesa doble. Calamares vinieron cocidos y secos. Tuve una fuente para compartir 4 trozos de queso graso pan de ajo, algunas costillas, 4 nuggets de pollo y 4 pieles de papa cargadas que sabían que estaban cocinadas el día anterior. Nunca puedo entender cómo la comida se lleva a la mesa. No es un restaurante con estrellas Michelin. Lo sé, pero vamos. Puedo hacerlo mucho mejor de Islandia de lo que me sirvieron ayer. La hamburguesa era bastante buena para ser honesta, pero las papas súper cargadas eran terribles. 50 después me fui y nunca volveré. Vamos, Frakie y Bennys, puedes hacerlo mucho mejor.

Jules is the Hostess with the mostess very friendly looked after us well great at her job I would recommend people to enjoy the delightful Restaurant.

Went again to f n bs ask myself why? Has anything changed in 12 months? the answer is no! I ordered a platter starter to share greasy, cold and cheese melted all over soggy ciabatta bread ribs dry and cold with 4 nuggets this was bad!! will never ever go back deliveroo why would you???No stars

We come here mainly for breakfast. Good selection on the menu, but the main reason we come here is for the excellent service we receive from Jules. It was pretty busy this morning but the service was as good as ever. She never forgets my husband’s passion for tea so a refill is always offered and supplied. She makes us feel really welcome every time we visit. Must mention the chefs too who work tirelessly behind the scenes, thank you too!

Lisa was lovely; really helpful and friendly. The service was really quick and the food was great. I’ll definitely be returning.

I visited on 2nd March with a friend and was served by an amazing lady named Shakerah. Her service was very attentive and always had a lovely smile. I would most definitely come again thanks to her service!

Been there a few times now,and to be honest its always been nice food.

My partner and I have been several times and all have been great. Decided to have valentines lunch there. Great choice. Its clean, efficient and the food is always top drawer. The layout is spacious and pleasant. Wheelchair users were catered for. Served by Lola who was very friendly like all the staff there. She was very mindful of my partner being Vegan and double checked everything for us. We had a great time. Loved our food. Great value . Great staff like Lola. Very happy

Love to pop in to this restaurant when in Selly Oak. Always a service with a smile. Had a small Chicken Pizza which came with a salad from the lunch menu..it was really tasty and the portion was bigger than expected.Lisa was attentive from the start as was Jason in his welcome as I entered..great pit stop as it is just across the way from the Train Station ;always a welcome break before moving on in my journey.

God awful food. I could of made better food myself at home and gotten in on the table before they did. Was half way through my food before we got our drinks the service was slow and when we were served the waiter was rude and patronising. Didn’t stay for desert as I refused to pay for another disappointing meal. I’ve had more enjoyable experiences in a hospital dining room

We visited last week on a fairly quite evening. There was only 5 of us but the service was really slow. Our mains were bought out before we had even had our starters and so were taken back in and left under heater lamps. The pizza was burnt to a crisp nobody ate a single piece. Over all a pretty disappointing meal.

We visited on a busy Saturday night five of us and was lucky enough to be served by Ellie. Ellie has been our waitress on a previous new years vist and is friendly and very efficient. The food was good and thanks to Ellie so was the service . Great for family meals

Was a bit let down on this visit, hope it was a one off, the garlic bread starter was quite soggy, and the main dish of arrabiata had no hint of chilli even though there was chillis in the dish, it was a bit bland , staff was very friendly and helpful which made up the disappointment of the meal, would return but please make the dish a bit more spicy as it should be

I've been taking my grandchildren to this restaurant for a few months. My grandson has a gymnastics session at a gym nearby and he loves going to this restaurant for his evening meal. The waitress, Jules, is very friendly and helpful. My two grandchildren really enjoy eating at this restaurant.

Visited on a Saturday evening, the place was full, we were told a 25 minute wait, but got a table after 10 mins due to a no show reservation. As I said, the restaurant was extremely busy, to me this is can end in either two ways... a badly rushed put together meal, items missing etc... or good, hot fresh food! I’m glad to say it was the latter, well done to the kitchen staff for delivering a delicious meal and to the staff who were cool, calm and collected, Great team work! making the evening very enjoyable.

Brought my family here on Saturday 12th of Jan, there was 6 of us and although it was busy our server Jules was brilliant. She couldn't do enough to help us and make sure we had a really nice family meal. We had some fussy eaters with us and Jules went out of her way to ensure they had everything they needed. Thankyou! Today went to Frankies in sellyoak ... server was good Lisa I think her name was a bit over the top but good at her job ... food was at a good standard hot and well presented fully enjoyable right till the last gob full ... Will defiantly go back or maby I'll order click and collect

Chips were over cooked.Had to ask and then wait forever for fresh chips. I would not serve over cooked dry chips to a dog, let alone a paying Customer.Just shocked the chefs have no standard and would send food of that poor quality out to Customers. Found out my friend died this morning, I was taken out to be cheered up. The quality of the food was a dispointment

It’s a Frankie & Benny’s. Wasn’t expecting much out of this but service was poor and everything was just slow. It is impossible to catch any waiter/waitresses attention in this place. They don’t really look after the table properly - you get left without cutlery and I had to get some off a different table. Food took a long time to come out and was bland and got cold very quickly. Why bother eating out when you can get the same quality of cooking at home? Restaurant itself is quite grubby and tired looking.

The food was great. The service was 10/10. Sam was our server and gave a great recommendation of what to order! Will definitely be back! Thanks again to Sam!

We keep coming back for the great service, food and drink, specially on a Sunday for breakfast. Regularly served by Lisa who is very welcoming, on the ball and best of all very entertaining (Sassy banter included).

Although the restaurant was busy I was seated immediately. While I was waiting for my companion Jules brought me a latte and one for my friend on her arrival. We both ordered eggs benedict which were superb. The service from Jules was excellent as usual. We visit at least once a week and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. In fact we regard many of them as friends. I always recommend the Selly Oak branch to my family and friends.

We got seated after about 10 mins standing at the door.... once seated.. we wasn't offered any drinks or garlic bread or garlic dough balls... I've always been offered this when seated... after 20 mins of no one asking if we wanted anything... we got up and walked out and someone said bye thanks for coming see you again soon ... we left and went to tgi fridays

They say you should never go shopping or out to eat if you are really hungry , well i have just eaten at F & B Selly Oak and it was a very good decision, i have been here many times before and always had good fooe , good service and the usual F & B atmosphere, well today was no exception, a short wait at the bar a laught and a warm greeting at reception turns out the lady was the duty manager nice lady. Although they were busy orders were taken and food served quickly. The quality of the food was very good steak served the way i asked for and the service was polite and attentive without intrusion. Had a short chat with the duty manger and thanked her and her team for a quality evening, this F&B; is clean and well presented the service is good and the food is well presented cant go wrong for the money will return no hesitation fully recomend this location job well done.

There were Forty of us, the service, Jules, excellent. The food good. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Myself, wife and our friend came for lunch today as it was our friends birthday. we had a lunch menu that was £11.99 each and unlimited refill drinks. food was spot on. service was a bit slow but i could see the lady was on her own and rushing around to keep everyone happy. and she did sing happy birthday to our friend and brought out a candle. so that was nice. we will be back.

We visited Frankie and Benny’s on Wednesday and had a pleasant meal! We had a garlic bread to start and I had a margarita pizza with chillies for my main. Both were very nice, but I would not have liked to pay full price for them. We had a voucher for 40% off that brought our bill down but I think the regular prices here are quite high for the quality/portion size of the meals. The staff were very kind and friendly and apologetic about the wait for food and drinks.

Due to having pretty average meals in the past at F&B;'s we'd not been for a couple of years. We'd actually gone to the area as we'd been told a Nando's had just opened up but we couldn't find it and so settled for F&B;'s (plus the kids saw the sign for the free Squishes and then it was too late to get back in the car!)

Excellent food, as you would expect from a Frankie and Benny's. Service was a bit slow, however it was busy so maybe expected. This restaurant tends to attract Students, because of its location. Staff were friendly. Lots of parking outside, however the main road can be busy at peak times. Overall happy, and has my recommendation.

My daughter was having treatment at ROH and said she fancied waffles for breakfast. Not being from Birmingham, bu5 having travelled up from Devon, we didn’t really know the area but I did know there was a Frankie and Benny’s nearby. It was also easy to park and great access for a wheelchair and crutches. My daughter decided to use her crutches and as we approached the door, the waitress came and opened it for us. She smiled and complimented my daughter. They asked what our preferred seating was as my daughter needed to sit in her wheelchair. Immediate impression made us feel welcome and relaxed, especially my daughter who is not too confident moving around and going out in public, since her op. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and hit the spot. Thank you to the two ladies who were on that breakfast shift on Tuesday, for your excellent service, the little personal touches and acts of kindness meant a lot.

Normally I can't be bothered writing this stuff. If it's only somewhat rubbish food or somewhat slow service, I'll make a mental note not to go again and that will be that. I'm not really the sort who goes onto sites and reviews stuff. Going to Frankie and Bennys though made my blood boil so much I could have probably gotten some beta blockers from the NHS to relieve the pressure.

Excellent service, we were served by Lisa who was great and couldn’t do enough to help us. Great breakfast 👍🏻

La última noche de Selly Oak F & be visitó una cena de cumpleaños con la familia, todos los miembros de la fiesta lo pasaron de maravilla y quedaron impresionados con la comida (muy raro tener un consenso del 100%). Sin embargo, siempre es una buena experiencia en general, a instancias de la camarera, y en esta ocasión, ¡Jules fue impecable! La gran personalidad nos hizo sentir como si fuéramos los únicos huéspedes en el restaurante, nada era demasiado y ninguna solicitud incómoda quedó sin respuesta, gracias Jules, la buena comida va y viene, pero siempre volveremos por un buen servicio y por eso, le agradecemos !
