First time in and absolutely loved it bar staff mint, atmosphere fantastic 💯 and real proper Ale. You know am going back because it's a blooming good Boozer

Over the Xmas period and into the new year i have found the staff to be generally miserable .i have requested a number of times for a pint of London pride which is showing as a a beer on offer to be told it wasn’t available the staff seem to check with their supervisor if they can offer it are they keeping it for their regular customers. I would like a reply from who ever is in charge to explain this to me .

Doorman tried to charge me and the wife after entering and ordering drinks on New year's Eve, shuch a shame as neither he or the bar was paid and we left.

Used to work here between 1999 - 2003. Same great manager running the place. So many memories, the place may have changed but it will always be Bar Mondo to me.

Wasn't the best pint I've ever had and wasn't the worst.....

Regulars getting preferential treatment, i was next in line and an obvious regular was served before me! Then both staff and other regulars were openly laughing at the situation! Felt really humiliated! Dont remember the name of the girl who served me but she wasn't that pleasant!

Brilliant place vibrant and staff welcoming and happy

Hi, went in this place after the 2nd England game in the World Cup at 4.15 on the Sunday. Asked for a pint of cask ale and a JD and coke. Absolutely appalled to see the barmaid put the ice in the JD with her hands!!! No scoop in sight. Absolutely minging. Complained to the barmaid so she took the offending ice out ( leaving the germs on her hands behind) thinking that was acceptable. We told her that wasn't acceptable so she poured new ones but was very stand offish. Complained to the manager ( a Mrs. Moore) who said as an excuse they had been very busy even though the match had been over 80 minutes. She said we were welcome to drink elsewhere if we wished! Mrs. Moore said the hygiene in Newcastle was worse, as if to justify their shocking standards. She also called us for complaining. You couldn't make it up!!! Please do not drink here if you have standards.

The outstanding and I mean absolutely outstanding thing about this place is the quality and price of the real ale. The decor is a little pedestrian and stuck in the 80s but when you can get Great Beer this cheap you can just put your bum on the perimeter sitting close your eyes put Your Glass to your lips, gulp and transport your self in and out of body experience to the timber framed Tudor Ale House of your choice. Another great and unexpected advantage of this place is that on certain weekend Knights there is a free and yes I said free coffee vendor outside. You can Stagger your way out of the front door of the pub and you will be a custard buy some born-again Christians offering you free coffee. It's actually a great way to end the evening by trying to help these poor deluded Souls to stop believing in a supernatural construct and get them to develop their own moral framework in the real world.

For an amber tavern's pub it's expensive?

I have barred myself from this establishment due to the very poor customer relationship given by the so called assistant manageress.

It's called the tap...but the taps in the toilets wernt working
