Would not recommend… Food is bland

No eye contact when your getting served. Food is amazing but very rude attitude. I go back for food nit service. If you want service go elsewhere this place is bad. The woman who is serving you is all about money and nit service and really unhelpful!!!!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. Ordered a Mega munchie box costing us £22 without delivery , honestly was worth about £5 , dreadful portions and got about 10 chips. If that wasn’t enough , it took an hour and a half delivery!! Baring in mind I live a less that 10 minute drive away.

If there was a zero star id of put that I got salt and pepper chicken and the chicken was like eating a rubber it was freezing cold and there was hairs in my curry sauce wouldn’t recommend people in going here many thanks buldge

Would not recommend to any one first time ordering from hear and will certainly not be going back got the big munchie back for £20 it is appalling also asked for house special chow main no been sprouts to find it swimming in them also no cans of pop after saying 3 times on phone to the woman really don't want your money

Absolute disgrace with delivery times. I live 100 yards away but delivery times 45 mins. Shocking! Try somewhere else.

When food was missing they said they would re do it. After waiting half an hour, we called back up to ask if they had sent it out yet to be met with the response that they weren't going to send it out. Calling us liars. I went to go take a trip to the shop but then it arrived eventhough they said it wasn't coming and my chips were freezing and had scales on. Meat looked like they picked it up off the road and I found a hair. Absolutely outrageous. Disgusting and horrible customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I used to get delivery's every 2 weeks, but with many let downs i spaced it out to once every few months from after lockdown. I now can say having take aways from here recently has upped there food in good taste. Delivery service has always been pretty quick

We had our first Takeaway tonight,and must say,we were very impressed.Lovely food,good value for money,and proper prawn crackers,not the cheap version other Takeaways are using.Defo be back!!!!!!!

I ordered a chicken chow mien (cat chow mien) …..in 2001. And it was very chewy. I’ve never had chicken that is so chewy so it must be cat.

Amazing place to have asian dishes. The staffs are friendly and provides good service.

Good little Chinese takeaway on Sunderland Road also opens during the day for lunchtime specials 😊 yum yum.

Charge people different prices based on the colour of your skin. When you place an order in the shop they are very miserable and rude. They don’t even look up at you. Chicken is absolutely vile.

This was my first time to order from this Chinese and I will certainly be ordering again food was absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended takeaway

First time I have used this takeaway and the food was absolutely beautiful delivery was efficient and the driver was very friendly and polite, I will add so was the guy who I passed the order too ensuring he asked what type of chicken sweet and chilli we wanted, first visit and won't be the last thanks

Hands down the best chinese we've ever had.

Used to love here. I would get satay mix meat dish but since changing hands the satay sauce is extremely disappointing. I've tried a few times to give benefit of the doubt but it was so bland and watery I had to add peanut butter to give it flavour and texture

Clean and pleasent premises friendly owners.My food was mediocre not very hot ,this is the second meal we have had ,not impressed

They're always awesome. Even reopened the kitchen for me once when I was late home from work so I didn't go without food that night.

Just got curry race chips.good price and very quick great service and each year been getting a calender off them

Visited here several times over the past months. The food is hot and tasty however there have been issues. Telephone orders for collection have been erratic with mistakes in the food ordered. Despite asking for order to be read back 5 out of 6 times we didn't get what we asked for. A prime example was special chicken chow mein without prawns. Got home to find plain chow mein. Took it back, they made up a fresh special chicken chow mein without prawns. Went home to find prawns! Returned again to place and was quite annoyed by this time. No apologies. They produced the 'right' one super quick. No apologies given at this point either. Got home not convinced it was a fresh meal -, not good if you have an allergy to shellfish. Despite all of this I recently called at the orchid to place an order while I waited. My order was read back to me but one of the meals wasn't what I asked for. End result? All the meals were correct and tasty. I will visit again to give them benefit of the doubt but definitely no telephone orders!!

Lovely food! Took over half an hour to come but well worth it. Best chinese food ive had for ages. Everything fresh & very tastey. Deffo recommend this place!!! 👍

Started going back here after it changed hands some time ago. It's so much better now. The food is much fresher and tastier and the staff are much friendlier as well. They also gave me a recommendation on a healthier option (House Special Chop Suey with boiled rice, in case you're wondering). Will be going to this Chinese takeaway again, no doubt.

5 star when it was ocean cottage i but now it has changed to orchard cottage they put that spam looking meat in there house special dishes I'm not a fan :-(

Every time I've had a meal from New Ocean Cottage I've received everything that I've ordered (which might sound an.easy thing and something expected but I've had experienced missing items from other establishments in the past and it can be irritatingly bad service). The food has always been excellent and service great.

Food is usually good but do have off days quite often, dishes are on the small side
