vegetable burger came with out a bun was a very odd colour and very unappetising, the chips tasted some what stale over all very disappointed with this order and will never order from them again.

Food is amazing value for money. Massive portions!

Probably one of the better chip shops in the area. Food is well cooked and chips usually nice crisp not greasy soggy muck some chippy's serve. Good value lunchtime specials 👍

Nicest takeaway we’ve had in a long time and we’ve tried lots of them all across the Newcastle, Durham, Chester le street and consett. This is a 30 minute drive for us and it was worth it, and we will continue to use this one. Can’t fault any of the food, good quality ingredients and soo tasty. Pizza was amazing and we can’t wait to go back! Staff also super friendly in the shop 💙

Got kabab wrap yesterday 4 o'clock like cardboard mention it to them today they just basically shrugged their shoulders and never mentioned it not even a sorry about that think I will try one down salt well road now

IVE USED THE GOLDEN FISH INN FOR YEARS AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS BUT IM VERY DISAPOINTED WITH MY ORDER TODAY! THE WHOLE MEAL WAS BARLEY WARM, AND THE CHIPS LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE LEFT OVER FROM LUNCHTIME. THE BATTER ON THE FISH WAS SOFT. OVERALL IM VERY DISAPOINTED.😡

today was the last straw! i got a kebab chip buttie today, again chips half cooked, the meat was tiny bits of what must be the odds and ends at the bottom of the container swimming in grease, not one strip of kebab meat all tiny bits. i wont even mension the bun. conclusion there's nolonger a good chip shop in bensham anymore.

Very disappointing with tonight's burgrs i got 2 cheese burgers with salad the buns were soggy fell apart in our hands the cheese wasnt melted just slapped on the salad was soaking wet with salad dressing which when we bited in to it the whole thing fell apart BUT apart from that the foods always been amazing just ashame the food and tasted like a 5 yr old made it

Ask for large fresh chips with batter got them home they were cold burnt and only about half the carton was filled and had no batter, I have been going here for many years but have been very disappointed the last few times won’t be going back

The food is always spot on. When ordered chicken curry lastnight I was gobsmacked at the fact it was TINNED CHICKEN CURRY, not Indian chicken curry like it said on the menu. I've had tinned curry before but never in a million years expected it to be used in a takeaway shop and especially at £7 for a small carton. I rang and complained and was told that they've always used that type of curry and nobody else has complained about it, well I'm sorry but if I want tinned curry I'll buy one from a shop at the fraction of the cost. Very misleading and deceiving customers. Other people might be happy with the chicken curry from a tin but I'm not I wanted and expected original Indian curry. Very disappointed, won't be using here again..

The food is really nice from there but a couple of times now the kebab meat was really very greasy and the oil or fat was all over my wrap and through the paper it was wrapped in. I worked in a Indian takeaway and the kebab meat was never ever greasy to that extent . Sorry. Other than that the food is good 👍

Called in at lunchtime last week, they do a variety of lunchtime specials at good prices. The staff are very friendly and the place is spotlessly clean. My food was very tasty and excellent value, I’ll certainly be calling back.

Worst pizza ive ever seen or tasted. Swimming in grease so much so it was running out of the corner of tge box when delivered. Phoned to complain to be told we cant do anything about that. Wont be using them again think ill stick to PROPER pizza frim dunston.

Food has always been spot on, and hot. Ordered a chocolate pizza now I didnt know what to expect but it certainly wasn't just a pizza base with spreadable chocolate over at £7.50 🤨 Now that's what I call a rip off. Certainly won't be ordering that again, be cheaper buying jar nuttella..other than that food is good

The food is always lovely and hot. We always have a kebab wrap and they are a generous size even the small wrap is big compared to other takeaways we've had. We haven't been disappointed with anything so I would definitely recommend using this place, the food is delicious 😋

I’ve been using this place for years and not had a problem. Haven’t been for a couple of months so tonight was looking forward to a treat. Pizza wraps were apparently ok, but the chicken meals were awful and went to the dogs. Full of fat and bone and barely cooked in places. Loads of sauce just dolloped everywhere so with that and the grease the pita bread was mush. Very disappointing from somewhere that has been great in the past

This place serves good food. The quality and quantity both are amazing. I’ve tried their pizza, garlic bread, burger, chips and kebab meat. Absolutely loved the simple cheese burger and plain garlic bread. It’s close to my home so always a go to option for me to fix my meal needs.

Missing peas and curry off order when rang shop, was told that it would be delivered later on ,I asked how long and was told much later as was busy, I then asked if I could have refund as food was gona be cold by the time they delivered missing items ,but was told that they couldn't refund me and I had to wait

Chicken was inedible. Must have been fried at least 3 times. Tasted of old oil and the chicken in the centre was actually like leather. Asked and paid for a naan bread with the kebab and got a very dry pita bread. Would have preferred if the fish had been on top of the chips not the other was round. It was absolutely sudden in oil.

The place is clear food it rotten tasteless hard and rotten. Avoid

Food was absolutely freezing!!!!! And for 7 pound I would of thought the kebab meat portion would of been good but it really was it was the smallest amount I’ve ever seen. The chips was cold… the curry sauce was warmer then the whole food when I rang up to complain about the missing pop we paid 2:40 for and still after ringing haven’t received it .. I said the food was cold and nothing was said about it.. All was said is the driver will deliver the pop on his next round it’s been over half hour since I rang about it doesn’t look like I’m even gonna get it so will be requesting a full refund as the food went in the bin what a waste of nearly 20 quid

Food arrived freezing cold. After waiting patiently for my order I called and explained the food had came cold to be told, no one else has called up to say there food was cold so I don’t know what you want me to do???

The first time we got fried chicken from here it was absolutely delicious. Crispy, flavourful, and we thought we had found a real local gem. Unfortunately each attempt since has led us to conclude that the first time was an accident. Tonight's was again soggy, fatty, too much mix used, and not cooked long enough to get any crispiness or bring out the flavour of the spices. We've had fish from here before, as a traditional chippy it's perfectly fine with good service, sizeable portions and fast delivery, no complaints at all. It's just sad that it could also be the best around locally for fried chicken, something that's severely lacking, but it appears that's not the case.

Never use again, Received pizza with mould on the bottom, disgusting! Instead of getting money back for pizza which was just one item of a few he said he would remake pizza. Cheers that’s what I want another pizza with potential mould on the bottom of the base. As expected management were rude and unprofessional.
