The Tandy Sandbanks in Poole

Just spent a very enjoyable evening here with a group of girls. Food was delicious, atmosphere amazing, service was first class and all in a a very beautiful designed restaurant/bar. Even the toilets are stunningly designed. Thank you to all the staff who made it such a pleasant evening. Will definitely return x

What a lovely experience. The girl that greeted us at the door couldn’t have been more welcoming even though we were at the point of the kitchen closing. The service was superb and the food definitely did not disappoint. A really nice meal served by really nice people.

Four of us went for lunch today and had such a lovely meal. We won a lunch dine experience from a charity ball and from the moment we entered we were welcomed and really looked after by the staff. The calamari were the best we had ever had and the prawns were juicy and succulent. Great steaks and fish dishes too. Thank you… for a wonderful lunch and supporting a great charity. We will definitely be back.

Food and service were great but naivley, this business does not accept cash, therefore I cannot support and regretfully shall not return.

Great service. Really friendly atmosphere and good choice of food

I stopped for lunch at The Tandy Sandbanks on a Saturday afternoon in January. It was fairly quiet due to it being a cold grey day, but it was warm and welcoming inside. We went on the 2-course set menu for £22.00, which was good value for a starter and main course. We also had a fantastic bottle of wine which wasn’t overly expensive, but really complemented the food. I started with the French onion soup, which was lovely. It was hearty and warming, and had a fantastic flavour. For my main course I had fish and chips, which was nice and crispy and tasted fresh. I do have one small gripe, and that’s the fish and chips came with fries, rather than chips. It wasn’t the end of the world but chips do go much better with fish in my opinion. For dessert I enjoyed a chocolate and rhubarb mouse. The sharp rhubarb worked well with the creamy mouse. My husband had possibly the largest cheese board I’ve ever seen, and I had to help him eat some as it was absolutely huge. The service we received was fantastic - all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was nicely decorated and had a lovely atmosphere, even though it was quiet. It had quite a similar look and feel to an Ivy restaurant, which is definitely not a bad thing. Overall, we had a great meal at The Tandy, the food and service were excellent, and I’d recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Consistently great dining. Food is super fresh and full of flavour, always a lovely menu, lot of nice options light or heavy, beautiful and thoughtful presentation. The service is really great too.

Popped in for dinner with five friends last night for a birthday meal. Served by the lovely Nick. We were very well looked after. Service was excellent and amongst the best we’ve received during meals out this year. Pleased with the choice, quality and presentation of the food. Loved the decor a great ambience. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.

Great food, buzzing atmosphere!

I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. The staff neglected to clear empty plates and glasses promptly, making the atmosphere cluttered. The preparation time for simple cocktails was excessively long, and the odd music choice added to the overall awkward ambiance. On a positive note, the food was the saving grace, truly delicious.

Finally, a place in Sandbanks with some energy! We came by to give the new Sunday roast a try and very glad we did. Attentive service, nice decor, best Roast-lunch around, well made cocktails and delicious dessert of tiramisu. They also had some live music starting up as we arrived, which, for a Sunday may be unusual but it was fun and lively, great vibes all round, and a new Sunday Roast destination.

Wow! Was on holiday to Sandbanks and came here today (near Halloween) the place was all done up for Halloween. Food was outstanding, cocktails were great also. Service was brilliant, they cleared our plates promptly, they asked how our food was and we told them it was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The cocktails were also very nice and great wine selection. They had a Dj on and magician walking around when we were in as well. Magician absolutely blew our minds, he fooled us constantly and made us laugh a lot as well. All in all I must say it’s a great restaurant and experience. Will definitely come again !

This gaff is what sandbanks needed!! We was missing a decent boozer!! All good locals and no rif raff!!

Food was actually very good. We were initalially charged for the main menu..when we ate off the lunch menu. We were then told we would be "let off" the extra price. I pointed out to the waiter we were being let off nothing. He asked us to prove what menu we ate from. When we showed him we were told it was the wrong menu we were given. The experience was humiliating and patronising. If you want to eat in a prestigious restaurant with experienced staff...do not eat here...as prices reflect such!!

The Tandy never disappoints. Great atmosphere, amazing food and friendly staff. Not to mention free Prosecco for ladies every Thursday night!

First visit for breakfast. Good choices ..all beautifully cooked.

I cannot recall leaving, (getting kicked out actually), a restaurant, so annoyed as we were on Saturday 12th August. We booked for 8:30, I took a call from a waitress saying that there’s a party on later, can we come in earlier “as you may be waiting a while getting served”. No problem, we made it 8 instead. The food, wine etc, whilst not the cheapest were fine, as was our waitress Sapphire. However, when we asked for desserts, obviously acting on orders from the management, she said “you’ll probably just have time”. A minute later, said desserts arrived along with the bill (£178, including the mandatory 12.5% service charge). LITERALLY as soon as we’d put the spoons down, the card machine was there and we were told basically to pay, and go, as in right now, GO!! It wasn’t even 9:30 and we were outside on the road! Mind, the staff at The Tandy certainly were consistent, there was a significant number of fellow diners who had been kicked out too, all complaining about their shoddy treatment, trying to rearrange their taxis. On the way out, I spoke to who the waitress said were the bosses, but they seemed to have started very early on the drinks and made no sense whatsoever in their dialect. If they’re having a private party, fine, it’s their place, their rules, but would it have been too much to have told us that we had to be out by a certain time, bearing in mind, two of us spent £178 there?!!? 😡😠 As I said earlier tho, they most certainly were consistent with everyone in emptying the place. Whilst the food etc was fine, needless to say, we will not be going back there ever again. There’s plenty of eateries around here. I don’t recall a restaurant getting us so annoyed as last nights experience did, for well over ten years… We’ve certainly NEVER HAD any of this nonsense at nearby Baffi, South Deep, Lazy Jacks, Harbour Heights, Anchorage, The Cliff, The Canford, Britannia etc etc, none whatsoever 😡😡, we’ve always felt welcomed at those places. Clearly we were nothing more than an inconvenience at Tandy 😠😠😠

We went to sandbank beach with our 3 kids , at end of the day the kids wanted to have pizza ,we went to restaurant to ask if they do take away and the waiter said yes,five minutes later we went to make an order the waittess looked .at me like i came from the other planet and she said no we do not do take away any more.very disappointed we drove 3 hours with out having any dinner and felt sorry for the kids .i want to tell to waitress may Allah forgive you what you have for the kids .

Visited The Tandy this evening with my partner and we had the most incredible meal. We dined in Rick Steins next door yesterday which was also very good. But We both felt the standard of service and extra detail from the staff at The Tandy was excellent. The lobster was cooked to perfection along with the steak. The Cocktails were awesome too. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Sandbanks or staying close by. Thanks again for a wonderful evening.

If you need a place for amazing drinks with a beautiful view then you must visit this one. Our evening at The Tandy was nothing less than perfect. The ambiance here is a perfect fusion of sophistication and relaxation. We ordered a pizza and some amazing cocktails. Pizza was a delightful burst of flavours. What truly sets The Tandy apart is its exceptional service. The staff is knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing an extraordinary dining experience. Mr Sai patiently answered our questions, offered insightful cocktail recommendations , and ensured every detail was taken care of. The Tandy is an absolute must-visit destination.

Nice food and our waitress Sapphire was great. BUT, we were not happy at being asked to leave the restaurant at 9.30 as a private party was coming in 😡 We had been asked to change our reservation from 8.30 to 8.00 which was fine, they indicated that it was because it would get very busy later on, but they never mentioned that we were expected to literally leave the restaurant before 9.30 😡 We were given the bill with our desserts and actually asked to leave straight after 😡 What a way to treat your customers 🤷‍♀️ This place is not cheap either. Definitely won’t be returning….. 😡

Wonderful place, we really enjoyed :) Steak was delicious, scallops, salmon tartare and burrata salad were really great. Eliot is really friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was modern and cozy.

We’ve had a great experience here, Luke was very warm and welcoming. Hands down best skinny fries - so crispy, perfectly salty. Their cappuccino was also so tasteful and freshly brewed coffee. Thank you and highly recommend for visit!

Really wanted to like the Tandy after reading the reviews, but sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. While the food was ok, we didn’t get the service. Chasing up forgotten drinks, orders, cutlery,, and no one seemed to care. I won’t be returning or recommend.

The staff need better training It’s easier to list what went wrong rather than what was right - Forgot my friends drink - Staff chatting at the bar dusting shelves and no attention paid to customers - Forgot my friends pizza so had to make that once we’d been served - Can we have some cutlery please - Can we order more drinks please - Can we have a bowl for the mussels please - Can I have mayo and ketchup please x2 - Didn’t ask how I wanted my steak cooked - Please can you clear the table - Didn’t mention my bday on the booking - Didn't offer us desserts - Didn’t take the pizza off the bill initially like promised Offered us lemonchello as a sorry, we were over it. It wasn’t even busy because I’d be forgiving if it was Won’t be returning, no one listens or follows basic hospitality

We waited 15 minutes to get anyone to serve us then gave up and went next door. Another couple did the same after waiting for half an hour. There were plenty of staff around, they were just more interested in chatting than serving.

I’m so pleased the Tandy opened as this is the place that Sandbanks has always needed. Great food, service and atmosphere. The owners have created a fantastic place to eat, drink and socialise. Beginning to feel like my second home at the weekends!

The food is exceptional, I have never eaten such good fish dish, it’s amazing! The stuff (especially Seb) are great, we felt very looked after. End of the night it sort of becomes a party place and I didn’t like the staff behind the bar drinking alcohol freely, it just feels a bit weird, but other thank you that we loved it!!

Unfortunately I can only give 1 star for the food and won’t be returning to this restaurant. I ordered a side of sourdough with some dipping oil in and the oil was so spicy which was unexpected. Instead I asked for some butter which turned up as melted butter even though it wasn’t a warm evening. Then for my mains I ordered a minute steak which wasn’t actually a minute steak. It was tasty but must have been standing in the kitchen for a while as it was practically cold. When we ordered our coffees they couldn’t give me mine as they ran out of dairy milk! My party also didn’t enjoy the food very much. However, the service was acceptable but disappointed that no one came to see if our food was ok.

The Tandy is fantastic! I have been here a few times now and every time I have not been disappointed. The food is excellent and well priced. The interior design is exquisite and the restaurant has a fun filled ambience with the DJ booth - (which is not overpowering). Toni and Andy make you feel so welcome. Will definitely be coming back. What a lovely place for breakfast. Lovely design, amazing staff, nice music in background. I had granola with berry compote and bee pollen and my husband had toast with 2 poached eggs and avocado. I had cappuccino and he had virgin Marry. We enjoyed it all. Menu offers traditional options such as full English breakfast or simple toast and jam. Prices are absolutely normal for the area. We tried breakfast here and next door and honestly…I don’t understand why people queue for next door if this place is much better. Food was delicious, coffee was so tasty and that Marry… very nice! Next time you wonder where to go for breakfast at Sandbanks, try this place. And I am sure it would be worth it to go here at any point of the day. Not only breakfast.

This place is a superb place for drinks, atmosphere and service. There is a great selection of wines that you can buy by the glass, carafe or bottle and the cocktails are fantastic . The staff are also brilliant.

I had high expectations after a friend had recommended visiting The Tandy, so I booked and advised in the special request that it was an anniversary. We arrived, staff were busy at the back and a waitress finally asked if I needed help. I explained I had booked a table for my anniversary however she was unsure where to seat us- no table had been allocated and it felt all very last minute. We were offered to sit in the dining area as preference but she needed to check if this was possible first, I felt really disappointed as it was for our anniversary and came across very disorganised. The food was mediocre, nothing special and a tad cold. We felt cramped, put in a corner at short notice despite booking for an anniversary and paying a deposit. Lots of staff chatting and noisy behind the bar killed the ambience a tad. I have to give credit to our waitress Sapphire, she was lovely and attentive. Sadly I won’t be returning to The Tandy as it was the experience I was hoping for.

Really lovely restaurant - great addition to the area. Good food, extensive wine choices and very friendly welcoming and relaxing venue. My wife and I enjoyed the opportunity to sit and watch the world go by and were not made to feel rushed with our meal although they were busy.

Rang the restaurant to book a table for the same day. Staff were very professional and friendly. Very unfortunate as I was so excited to try their food, but the cheff was off sick, however they were still serving nibbles and smalls plates meals. I was very pleased and happy. I will definitely come back for dinner and try their cocktails. Staff incredibly welcome and friendly, always with a smile. Restaurant is very close to the sea, so a nice walk after-dinner was the perfect closure for the evening. Thank you!

Booked breakfast on my birthday,they cancelled and said not doing breakfast, so we had to book lunch told we can have 12, midday . They were not open told we need to wait 20 mins got in at 12.30 as manager had a fender bender. All staff there though!! Then ordered drinks 😳 told they don't have any beers on menu. Wow ?? Then we order our food as we were the only ones in there, and waited 1hr + for food we did notice other that came in after us and were eating!! So complained and got told chicken breast takes ages to cook .JUST A VERY UNDERWHELMING EXPERIENCE, NOT WHAT YOU'D EXPECT FOR THE PRICES CHARGED ! MISS MANAGED POORLY RUN . DON'T THINK ID GO BACK. £170 AND DON'T ASK FOR DESERT MENU ITS NOT ON THE MENU IT A GUESS.

Deliciously put together food and cocktails. Nice bistro deco and cool music, although maybe a touch loud. Overall great spot for any time of day, will return! (tip - there's a slight draft inside so bring an extra layer!)

Was really looking forward to visiting the Tandy since viewing its Instagram page, as looked a classy/chic dining experience with the hopes of exceptional service to match, especially being situated in sandbanks. but unfortunately couldn’t have been far from the opposite… Visiting on a quiet Sunday evening, with a maximum of 2 other tables taken it took almost hour for food to arrive, which when received, what the order had consisted of on the menu, was not matching to what I was seeing on the plate in-front of me.. -very disappointing since waiting so long.. green beans missing which took till finishing my dinner to arrive, by request.. and “grilled tomatoes” which looked as if they hadn’t even been cooked. All meanwhile asking for the basic requirement of water for the table alongside our drinks, which arrived 45 minutes later despite asking twice.. Confronting the disappointment with the manager over our dinner, he agreed for 2 complimentary desserts for myself and a friend on the table which had the same order experience. After giving the dessert order to the waiter we then received the wrong desserts, but didn’t bother to dispute the nice gesture. However the dessert then was left on our table without spoons which then came with the challenge of gaining attention of staff who were busy chatting at the bar, to ask for yet another basic requirement. Whilst waiting to receive the spoons which weren’t coming any time soon.. I worried the toffee pudding was going to get cold, I touched it with my finger to test if it would be hot enough, I found it was barely even warmed and by the time the spoons arrived it turned completely cold anyway. Thought this would be the last of issues, and at this point was looking forward to pay and leave and proceeded to do so.. Checking the bill walking out the door it stated that only one dessert was complimentary despite agreeing for 2 to be deducted as for the 2 orders not being up to standard. But at this point myself and friends began to be at wits end and couldn’t be bothered anymore to contend with such sloppy service.. Needless to say that I’m disappointed I’m even having to write a review on a new business, but I’m hoping that in writing that the errors can be absorbed and addressed for any future customers experience.

Super sad to be giving a one star. I also am a girl who NEVER writes reviews full stop. So the fact I’m writing this just says something. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday where we were one of maybe five tables? So not many. We had to wait 45 minutes for a jug of water, we then waited 55 minutes for our food. Two of my friends dishes came up without grilled tomatoes and green beans. This was both stated on the menu. After she asked they then bought a bowl of green beans to share between two! One bowl! The owner then came over and agreed the tomatoes brought over were definitely not grilled. He offered to give two of my friends two desserts on the house. Which we thought was fair and kind. We chose 3 desserts between 4 people. The desserts came out without spoons and I had to ask a waiter for spoons to be give us spoons for our desserts after 5 minutes of waiting and giving them the benefit of the doubt. Then when it came to paying the owners charged us for 2 desserts and only took 1 off the bill when saying he would give 2 desserts free due to the tomato and green beans situation. Very very disappointing and won’t be returning. Expected much better service. I would have understood if it was busy and everyone was rushed off there feet, but they spent more time chatting behind the bar then taking care of the customers. Shame as my pizza was really really tasty and definitely would have gone again if the service hadn’t have been so poor.

Organised a baby shower here for a group of 11. Really impressed with how accomodating the staff were. A big thank you to Toni who decorated the table for us. The atmosphere and decor is gorgeous. The food was really delicious, especially the tempura prawns... up there with the best weve had! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon, would definately return.

Lovely atmosphere, nice decor, nice food but really poor service. We went through all the issues with the manager and he initially offered to take off the ‘discretionary’ service charge - which we had already said we weren’t going to pay. It’s a shame as the place has lots of potential but needs some tweaks to ensure a great experience

Recently had the sea bass here & I highly recommend it not only was it cooked to perfection but also delicious paired with a large glass of crisp white wine it was truly excellent.

Was recommended this place by a friend and it's fabulous! We sat downstairs in the little nook for food and drinks. Great variety to the menu, our children were made to feel welcome too. Highly Recommend!

Great venue in sandbanks, we all loved it! Me and the girls checked it out on a Friday night and it clearly is the place to be! food amazing. So great to have somewhere to go in sandbanks now! Seeing ibiza Ross e b Djing, there made our night, I even got photo with him this time :) great atmosphere / music. highly reommend to everyone.

I’ve been in Bournmouth for 3 years, this restaurant have been the best one I’ve gone to in a while. The staff, food, the atmosphere and design of place is absolutely amazing and top quality. I’m really happy to go there with my friend which is a visitor and definitely will come back there soon.

Incredibly delicious food!!!! I have never eaten so deliciously anywhere in England! We ordered steak - it was very very soft! Risotto is delicious! The French soup is incredible!! The wine was warm and I didn’t really like it.. I didn’t like the attitude of the staff, the waiters were not very attentive to the guests, there were few visitors, but you always had to wait a long time for the waiter... I forgot to add, in the toilet there is hand gel with an amazing smell and a cream that is simply woowww!

Although the choice of food is not huge and couple things not available so early on a Sat eve! we still thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Tandy . Our waitress was exceptional, very attentive. Great atmosphere & good music in the background. We definitely will be returning .
