Absolutely delicious food and smaller appetite portions available. Highly recommend it 👌 Revisit: not disappointed!! Quite noisy but it was a Friday Lunchtime. Food was amazing!

Came for a funeral, been living elsewhere for last 10 years. It’s not the tally ho anymore. It’s a brewery pub now and comes across like they’re trying to be Weatherspoons. Save yourself the trip there’s 1000 other youngs pubs that look exactly the same including Exeter city centre. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return, you seen one franchised pub, you’ve seen them all.

Great little pub with extremely good food. I had the Thai veggie burger which had a red curry style sauce with chips and my wife had the lasagne. The burger was extremely flavourful and the chips were crisp. My Mrs also thoroughly enjoyed her lasagne which had a good balance of cheese to tomato flavours. I also had a pint of Jail Ale which was extremely well kept. Kids had a great time on the play equipment and the service was quick. Top little pub, looking forward to this becoming our local

Had a great lunch here for 14 of us adults and children, various dishes Sunday roasts, burgers, kids meals baggetts etc all very good, the drinks were all good as well, nice play area too for the children.

I was treated to a Birthday lunch by my family. I chose the venue, mainly because I hadn't been there for years! I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere here was still as friendly and welcoming as I remember and the food was equally as good! There is a fabulous variety on the menu to choose from, all at very reasonable prices! The parking is very limited but you can usually find somewhere to park, even if you have to walk a short distance. 1 of Exeters hidden gems!

Food was good overpriced though and they don't mention thst they pepper there steaks on the menu. Could be an allergen

Only ever visit on the Hospiscare men's walk where it's rammed with s loud but friendly crowd. Bar staff work really hard to keep everyone happy 😀.

As someone who has coeliac disease there is always plenty to choose from on the menu and staff always happy to help.

Lovely traditional pub with proper pub food. Nice to find a rare gem of a non chain cheesy cookie cutter venue. If you're in Exeter and looking for somewhere that will be a really treat, do pop in here.

Popped into the Tally Ho pub after a short Riverside walk with a friend for some refreshments. We were welcomed by a friendly & inviting staff member who instantly put up both at ease. My friend had a half pint of lemonade, myself a recent new barrel of locally produced real ale of Avocet from Exeter Brewery, they also had Jail Ale from Dartmoor Brewery on. Unlike many pubs of today their kitchen time allowed for food. Wasn't sure on food so went for the cheesy chips, this was near on a main course which was perfect for our needs. The quality if the chunky chips & the fact that the cheese was layered on not just put on top like most pubs do was great. Am really looking forward to returning for a proper meal as the menu looks fantastic. The customer service was exceptional.

Great place to eat, drink or hold a party. A very large beer garden with kids play equipment available. Dogs always welcome inside and out. No TV anywhere in this pub, just low level background music only. Brilliant you can actually talk and not have shout above above benin music or tv. Welcoming hosts and staff. The place to be away from big chain plastic pubs.

Been going to this pub for a long time. Went for a walk & popped in & had a cuppa. Lovely ladies working there. Didn't eat but saw the Sunday roast & will definitely going for one, looked scrummy. Great put stop after a walk around the green trail.

Went for a walk, ended up at this pub for lunch and what a lunch it was, the 1 and only downside was that the portions weren't the biggest for the price you paid, however the food was fantastic, the staff were super friendly and they even had a great and well maintained area for the children to play in, will definitely be going back again next time we're in the vicinity

I had the Chicken, bacon and brie burger. It was amazing 😍🤤 The staff members and atmosphere were very nice

Stopped of here after a long walk and what a little gem beautiful quiet garden with play area for the kids and the food was amazing we had a hunters chicken, bacon cheese burger and kids fish fingers and it was lovely, hot and fresh and the staff were friendly and helpfull, will definitely return next time we are over that way 🙂

Great Sunday roast, nice beer garden!

We recently held a wake at The Tally Ho. The contact was great, they accommodated all of our dietary requirements really well and gave excellent guidance on catering for a large number of people. Although the weather was against us and we couldn't use the garden there was plenty of room for us all in the pub. I would recommend this as a venue without hesitation.

Couldn't fault anything about the pubs staff the atmosphere or the food. Nice to be able to enjoy that old pub atmosphere that so many palaces seem to have lost these day's. 👍

Friendly, welcoming and reasonably priced drinks

Here on the occasion of a friend's birthday. Pleasant atmosphere, good garden. Food was very good, served quickly and hot. Very pleased.

I enjoyed one of the specials, lamb moussaka, it was delicious. My partner chose the fish & chips & was equally impressed. Good sized portions without being huge, we could actually eat it all & still feel comfortable. A good selection of local beers completed the options. We will be back!

We booked a wake here at the recommendation of a friend, we had visited to pay our deposit a few weeks before and the place was lovely. A really nice "Old Country Pub" feel. For the wake the staff were polite and any issues we had (very minimal such as asking for an extra bin for the buffet) were dealt with. The food was very good and well worth the £4.95 per head, the drinks where a little pricey but that is to be expected from a proper pub. The garden area was perfect for our family and friends and its been a few weeks now and we have had nothing but praise passed onto us from those aho attendid about the venue.

What a lovely pub... Just popped in with family after a funeral. Didn't eat here but it all looked very nice. Definitely a place we will go again .

Visited lunch time with dogs had lunch for four people which was good but I was very disappointed with my small fish n chips price at £9 ×6 chips tiny square of fish and a few peas the container of tartar sauce was almost bigger than fish sorry Tally ho you missed a trick on this snack more like a tapas

Visited whilst on holiday! Lovely staff, Very accommodating, I would highly recommend visiting! They have a lovely garden at the rear and it's a real sun trap! Children friendly too what more could you ask for.

Always a lovely experience coming to this pub, we sat out in the lovely bear garden and my son played in the children's area, it was enjoyed by all our party. Will definitely be coming back

Ordered steak and ale pie with chips and peas, the slice of pie was very dry and the meat was tough, thank God for a watery gravey to give it some kind of taste. Very over priced.

Meal in December for myself and husband with our 10 month old and our dear friends (another couple). Baby stayed in the pram to start (no high chairs?) then on our laps. Lovely friendly family atmosphere, nice Christmas decorations and good food. Would recommend and would visit again.
