Brilliant food and service, very welcoming and staff well mannered

My wife and I visited for lunch. We had the lime larger which I think was meant to be flat, tasted OK, and the Server was friendly and surroundings good. I really wanted to like the food as I love Mexican, but for us it just wasn't great. I had nachos, my wife tacos and we had cauliflower in batter. It was all just too oily which was the predominant taste and spoiled the meal to the point we were tasting the oil for the rest of the day. I expect the oil was too cold, or the food wasn't rested properly, I don't know but it wasn't nice. If your going to go perhaps the evening is better when there is more going through the kitchen, some of the food in the pictures looks great.

Fantastic place. The food was spectacular and so was the service. We ate pork and lamb tacos plus the nachos. They were absolutely divine. Cocktails were too!

La segunda vez aquí, la comida y el ambiente era genial, muy una sensación auténtica al respecto. SIN EMBARGO: nos fuimos con una nota ligeramente amarga, sorprendidos por la factura final. Habíamos optado por la "Selección de chefs", que significaba chef sirviendo lo que sentía apropiado / apasionado. gran concepto, en teoría. pero camarero fue incapaz de darnos incluso una vaga idea de qué precio esperar cuando preguntamos con antelación. podría haber sido nuestro error no insistir en más idea de qué esperar o simplemente debería haber cambiado a la carta. nos sorprendió bastante en factura de 185 libras para 4 de nosotros, (con solo 3 cócteles y unas cervezas como bebidas). Un concepto mejor sería "selección del chef" con un rango de precios. Es decir, la elección de los chefs por £ 20 la cabeza, o £ 30 la cabeza... entonces no habría sorpresas desagradables...

¡Experimentó un delicioso menú no establecido con platos elegidos por el chef! Las quesadillas de cerdo tiradas eran increíbles y nos trataron con la barbacoa Ham Hock especial! ¡Increíble!

We visited Taco Box on Tuesday for their unset menu, and it was a fantastic experience! Not knowing what to choose turned into a blessing as this menu was perfect for us. It featured some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. To top it off, the cookie dough dessert was absolutely epic. Highly recommend Taco Box for an unforgettable dining experience!

Incredible experience! Absolutely amazing value and delicious unset menu which is basically a chef’s tasting menu - only on Tuesdays, make sure you come down then. If you’re gluten free 100% come here! The quesadillas were delicious (and gf, so good) and I’ve never tasted anything like the brownie - homemade by the owner and the best I’ve ever tasted

¡Un hallazgo increíble! Tuvimos el menú ‘no establecido’ un martes que es una selección de chef, tuvimos una gama de platos elegidos por el chef - simplemente siguieron llegando! Nachos de garbanzos, quesadillas de cerdo tiradas, tacos de pollo, compartir corcho de cerdo, brócoli de tallo tierno, col hispi y nuggets de coliflor - seguido de churros, masa de galletas y brownie! Tuvimos un amigo sin gluten con nosotros, todo el menú dado era totalmente libre de gluten 😍 Delicioso - una visita obligada!

I came here with my boyfriend where Tom served us with a smile! We got a chef selection cooked by Jack which was delicious! would 100% recommend, we will definitely be back.

We had lunch at Tacobox on Saturday and off the back of it decided to have them cater my wedding next year! Tom was warm, friendly and knowledgeable and he recommended the hispi cabbage and the cauliflower tacos, both of which I haven't been able to stop thinking about since. Can't wait to eat more 🔥🔥🔥

The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I attended a Chamber of Commerce social event here, and the staff took great care of our group, making us feel valued and welcome.

We went on recommendation. My wife and I have travelled around Mexico.We decided to have the lamb and chicken Tacos. I was disappointed to see such a small amount of food on the plate and the taco that did not resemble anything I had in Mexico. The taste was nice but for £14 and £12 we thought they were over priced.

We had a lovely evening this evening at Taco Box The staff worked so very hard and with Martin the owner they made a great team. We left the food to them . Two vegitarian ans 3 meat eaters). Cocktails to start do not match those on the website but very nicely prepared circa £11 each Starters were freshly prepared and a delight to see them being chared on an outside gas hot plate. Mains were well presented and tasty would really benefit from a little zazz Wines are limited and whilst well priced they could be better. Have given 5 stars as there is so much potential for this business

We had the best night celebrating my 30th. The food was amazing, with so much choice we were lucky enough to try a bit of everything. The cocktails did not disappoint along with the service. I hugely recommend! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

I had some great food, with warm Nachos to start, Sweet Potato and Cheese Croquettes and the Venison Nachos. Followed by some yummy Chocolate and Hazelnut Churros for dessert. All accompanied by some cocktails. The service was fantastic and very efficient and the food to die for.

Was part of a party of 28 at Taco Box and a great evening was had by all; food was amazing, portions were good sized but could have eaten more, it was that good. Service great too. Well done, Martin & co!

I came here for my friends birthday and what a delightful experience it was. Tucked away this is a real Chichester gem, great food, great staff and a great wine list. I will certainly be coming back here and recommend you try it too.

Found this place before Xmas after moving to Chichester. Such an amazing independent restaurant. Great food and great atmosphere. The drinks go down well too! Even though it’s lovely and cosy with a good atmosphere in the winter, very much looking forward to also experiencing this place in the sunshine.

Our favourite restaurant in Chichester! We go here: as a couple, with our daughter or with friends. It's great for a cocktail, perfect on a sunny day and excellent for sharing food. I would recommend whatever the day's special is that day and definitely try one of their margaritas. Also... dog friendly!

I came here on Saturday afternoon to try the new cocktail menu and this is such a special little gem in Chichester! A lovely atmosphere where the staff make you feel very at home. The Red Mullet fish tacos I had were as delicious as the ones I sampled in May off the coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. I really like their commitment to zero waste too - great little place worth checking out. Not like the rest of the boring chains in Chichester.

Just the best food in Chichester, so tasty and the beer was great. Atmosphere and staff is warm and friendly. Well worth a visit and free parking outside in the evening.

Outrageously good, love the experience of going to the Taco box, we hired the whole place for our team to come for a party and the service was epic, can’t recommend the team enough, they are nailing it! Seriously if you haven’t been the tacobox yet you are missing out!

Me and my friend have been coming here since it was a food truck,finally it’s got it’s own shop! We went last night for the bottomless tacos and it was amazing, great value for money & included a bottle of wine and desert. The food is always 10/10, the service and vibe of the place is so good, ever changing specials and offers I can’t recommend this place enough! One of the best places to eat in Chichester

Ate this restaurant tonight. Service was good but pressure was on as like most businesses this time of year the custom is unpridictable. Cocktails were very strong and £12 each could have been less string,larger and cheaper. Starter ls both Pprk Ribs ls and Chicken wings were under priced at £6 and tbh between 3 of us 1 main and 4 to 5 starters would have been enough. Main coirses range in price from £9 to £12 in the main. The venison Tacos x2 was very tasty and the vegi nacos chips (although a repeat of the starters on one plate) were ok. Sadly, the specials were dropping like flies off the chalk board and as a vegitarian the food became very limlted and ingredients repetitive. The Tacos were soft tacos and a little disappointing for £11.50 for 2 small tacos . Great ambiance and friendly. Kitchen was spotless and the owner jumped into the kitchen like Superman! Total cost was £33 per head with 2 Cocktails and 2 beers (. The second beer came just a bit late to suppliment the main course) but this was just pressure on the FOH manager. I have to say the flavours were very very good Service was good in the circumstance. Value for cocktails would have been better with less alchol and larger glases and priced better. Specials we would have liked to try but this was due to the unexpected rush. Menu is limited and ingrediants and choice were repetitive more so for Vegitarians. Experiance was 4* star really but knowing the pressure on small businesses atm i have given 5 * and will return very soon and hope the 5* is well earnt.

An innovative street food place in Chichester. Wraps and crisps and other fried/roasted food. Chair and tables made of recycled scrap Very trendy. Drinks are £12 for cocktail, less for beer and wine. Friendly staff and edgy venue, was a bit cold when -2 outside. Best for groups.

The restaurant is a hidden gem. Only a couple of mins from the town centre. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is amazing and the cocktails and mojitos are awesome. I have been 6-7 times now and each time it has been great.

Came here in September for a family meal on Taco Tuesday, we were not disappointed! Fantastic margaritas, cod tacos and wine! The mexican Chenin Blanc was unreal.

Went for lunch after doing some pottery at Biscuit Pottery in Drapers Yard. Delicious margaritas, lovely tacos, fab elotes and the best cauliflower we’ve ever had. Really traditional Mexican food - took us back to our honeymoon in Mexico. Would highly recommend, will be back for more margs!

Amazing restaurant and the food is incredible! We had wings and elotes to start, both delicious. We then had pork burritos as a main. The whole meal just blows nearby restaurants out of the water. Cocktails are amazing, especially enjoyed pepper and mint daiquiri. Highly highly recommend.

We had a great first visit to the Taco Box on a Wednesday evening. The ambience is lovely, casual but nicely done. The spicy margarita was excellent and all the food was amazing. Lovely friendly service from Tom too. Highly recommend!

Really poor experience. We had a table booked inside and when we arrived there was no table inside and we were asked to sit outside and wait with an offer of complimentary cocktails for the inconvenience. We waited a further 25 minutes before we were handed drinks list and menus after which our table was now ready. We finally got our cocktails 45 minutes after we had arrived. We ordered food which they had got wrong and when it arrived we had to send it back. The waitress was not aware of the dietary requirements and nor were we asked if we have any allergies. Once the correct food arrived we ate and paid up shortly after. The food was really average. When the bill came the complementary cocktails were on the bill, which we had to then ask to be removed. They then proceed to only take one of the drinks off and charge us for the second. Really poor experience, poorly managed and staffed. We won’t be returning and would not recommend to anyone.

I love Mexican and this ticked all the boxes for me! So tasty, great cocktails and really nice location. Inside lovely but I reckon on a summers day could spend a whole evening in their outdoor area!

First time here, a couple of teething problems, starters coming out with mains, which they happily took back and then a problem with card machine which had approved and cleared our account today , although the staff thought it hadnt although it showed approved in...

I went to The Taco Box with a couple of friends and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, we had some cocktails - they were nice but I did have to send both of mine back, that was more because they weren't to my taste though. We had looked at the menu beforehand so were excited to try all the lovely Mexican food! However, what we had was incredibly disappointing - I had a halloumi burrito which was so bland I had to ask for salt and then some garlic aioli just to make it palletable! There were a few bits of halloumi and then a lot of cabbage, both in the burrito and on the side! My friends had some cauliflower nuggets that didn't seem to have been drained properly of the oil as when you bit in to them you just got a mouth full of oil! Overall, the cocktails are fine, the atmosphere is good, service is okay but the food was pretty terrible really. Not impressed and would not recommend!

Delicious Mexican food and drink! Highly recommended! We started with perfect margaritas and then had the sharing meal of tacos and nachos, followed by chocolate filled churros. The flavours were superb and the portions generous. The restaurant is attractively decorated with a lovely outdoor seating...
