Ordered to find hairs in 3 out of 4 of my waffles (photo evidence was sent). Messaged page and were told i could get replacement, was denied a refund. Then when I messaged inquiring about the replacement no response, called and was hung up on. Appalling really

Missed item from my order, over a week I’ve been waiting for a refund. Not a lot of money but it’s a bit cheeky missing an item off my order and then keeping my money. Basically theft

Last time I ordered there was multiple dead flies on and inside my milkshake and I have ordered an hour ago today and normally they come early, they confirmed it but am still waiting

I rang them and they just said wait there and then I talked then they said wait there and they hung up

Most of the bad review come from delivery It looks like we have never had one! When we do go around once a month with kids for treat the food is always amazing especially the cheesecake The kids love the waffles and milkshakes. Although the staff are young they are always very polite and we have never had an issue ever.

Absolutely rubbish, ordered and paid at 8:58 and rang them at 9:30 to see how long and they said a few mins and the delivery driver was leaving the shop, I left it 15 mins to realise the shop closed at 9:45 and still haven’t received my order !! An absolute joke I swear down didn’t juts order a little bit either

ordered from this place 10 minutes ago and rejected my order straight away as they can’t be bothered. So now won’t get my money back for 5 days absolutely ridiculous, please don’t order from this place staff were rude when I rang up.

Our 3 drinks were rushed which led them being far to thick which made it like ice cream. Staff were rude and whispering and then looking looking towards us. Ran by teenagers by the looks of it. Supposed to be a professional work space. More like a group of chavs coming to socialise.

Ordered for collection and received confirmation to collect at 9.50 arrived at 9.45 to find the shop closed, contacted the shop then next day for refund/replacement which they refused and said I'd have to contact the company that processes their orders, this has proved to be impossible and I still don't have my money back, definitely would not recommend

Still waiting for my order it’s been 30 mins after the expected delivery time

ordered £15 worth of food, they then rejected the order 5 minutes after i ordered and now i have to wait 5 days for a refund

I placed an order for £12:50, £15:60 after the random charges were added. They phoned me, one of the items on there webpage that I ordered was not in stock, i did not like the alternative. That’s fine.Then I get a 2nd call, that because of this I no long was allowed the order because it didn’t cover the £10 min fee for delivery before the charges… the total order once the item removed became £9:50 before the additional charges. I didn’t review them years ago when I had a bad experience, finally used them again for the first time in 5 years a couple of months ago. Now this. There is not going to be a 3rd time in 5 years.

Waffle was lovely , disappointed with the £6 bag of pick and mix , it should of stated it was sweets covered in sugar and i wouldnt of bought them and got something else ☹️

Foods AMAZING an all right, but youse don’t show much respect to us customers, You don’t really smile and are in a mood. When shop first opened, all the people where incredibly nice and kind. They were happy and smiling but now there just in a mood. No respect to us customers.

Definitely SWEET!! You can find everything from ice cream to all different cakes and from steamed pudding to jar candy. The doughnuts just yum 😋

Whoever rang me to say that they ran out of α sweet so asked if I would exchange it, I then went “also also, could I add” then got talked over going ok bye bye and I went “add cheetos to that” She then goes bye puts the phone down on me. From someone who genuinely struggles on the phone that’s really rude to me and really bad manners, I suggest you train your staff better because I’m honestly so shocked at the manners there. Wether or not she heard me or not I still repeated myself multiple times. The customer service here is ridiculous and will put me off ordering here again. Thanks.

Absolutely usless. Last three times ordered something was missing from order. Took another 30-40 minuets to deliver rest of order. Will not use again

Ordered well before closing. Been sat waiting for over an hour (had stuff from here before and I know they take a while). Decided to check my email to see if there was an eta as I know they close at 11….email to say order had been cancelled! Waste of time, a couple of other decent dessert places in town that will now get my custom over this place. Shocking.

Food was nice but there were about 6 workers and not one of them had a mask on or a lanyard to say they are exempt some of them were rude with the tone of there voice

Great tasting food just false advertising. I ordered a Ferrero rocher cake (paid extra) and a normal chocolate cake turnt up with a Ferrero Rocher still wrapped and placed next to it.... yeah thanks exactly what I asked and paid extra for.....

This review is solely based on a Belgian waffle I ordered. It came on time but was stone cold and completely soggy. I warmed it up in the microwave but that just made it worse. Gutted.

The best affordable desert shop in Darlington! Always an amazing experience when ordering in store , products are always fresh and there’s lots to choose from , staff lovely and polite and always willing to help if you have an questions ! Definitely recommend

Very disappointed as a first time customer, delivery was a bit earlier than quoted but 2 items out of 4 were wrong....didnt have time to ring and get them changed so just thought we wud eat them..some sort of caramel/toffee cakes instead of Ferrero chocolate fudge cakes. Even more disappointing the 2 wrong cakes sent were very dry and stale!

Can’t fault the food when it turns up. As a repeat customer the customer service has got worse and worse. Ordered today for delivery the same order I always get, for it to be cancelled. When I messaged them they said the minimum spend had gone up. Well change your website to match that then. Then for no phone call to explain etc. Ended up driving out and going to Kaspas food is just as good if not better and I didn’t spend as much as I needed to to get a delivery from here.

We have ordered here in the past. Tonight we ordered at 8pm. 1hour and 20 minutes after our order was placed, we rang to enquire about the delivery, they told us that they sent the food 10 minutes ago, which would of been 9:10 when they sent the food. We never received our order untill 10pm. So they took 50 minutes to deliver 2km away via car?? I think they are lying to us customers... Yes the food tastes good but the service is horrendous

Can’t fault the food, the food is lovely. Although service is shocking, ordered food at 8pm got told it would be an hour, 9pm came still no order so rang the shop back being told it had left the shop to be delivered at 8.50pm still waiting at 10.30pm absolutely shocking service and no people skills over the phone, delivery driver was a nice lady and couldn’t apologise enough, it’s the shop who’s the problem. I have ordered from these before and the service has just got worse over the past year. Will not be ordering anymore.

Decent when they get the order correct

Over all poor experience both times previously ordered 2 milkshakes and 2 waffles the text said it should of been delivered with in 40-60 minutes called a hour and half later was advised it would be possibly 30 minutes still didn’t come till 3 hours 45 minutes later the milkshake had melted and the waffle was clay cold, should have known better tried to order again money had been taken waited 45 minutes to get a text saying it had been cancelled. I wouldn’t waste the time or money again for such a poor level of service.

Made an order and didn’t turn up for about two hours late the women finally came and give her a 20 pound note and the cost of it was 17.80 and didn’t pay me back then she decided she forgot our milkshakes so she went back to get them and while we were waiting we hade our cookie dough which came in a half not a full like I ordered a full and we waited another 2 hours and so my sister rang up and they said it will be with us soon 40 minutes later we rang agian and said they were on there way and it finally turned up and didn’t give me back my change when I asked for it

Accepted my order at 8:18pm, delivery for 9:52pm... never turned up! Owe me £17.80 and an explanation. Read and ignored my messages. Just get worse

Ordered cheese cake staff picked it of the stand with bare hands no gloves on no utensil while waiting on waffles staff stood and ate a take away spring rolls while walking around the shop the staff still doing orders no hand wash staff no hair nets on never again

Well if ordered two ETON MESS with white chocolate & raspberry flavour icecream as my first choice and bubblegum icecream and my second choice and also more stuff for the little one. Iv just come out of hospital today after having day surgery so i was really looking forward it 🥰 with my not being able to eat anything else.. Iv had ETON MESS here before so my hopes where high. However, our ETON MESS wasn't anything like a ETON MESS. *There was a dust of MERINGUE that I couldnt hardly taste (to me a Eton mess is all about the MERINGUE) *The icecream what's like a cheesecake type not the one I believe to have chosen and my second choice bubblegum wasn't there either. It was just full of the cheesecake type icecream with a dust off MERINGUE a few strawberries at the bottom. So I called to complain and let the staff know. The lady who answered apologised and said that my order must off not been understood properly. To be fair to her she offered me two scoops off bubblegum icecream on our next order FREE. I told her that I don't usually order for myself as I usually order for my customers at work so I declined the offer. But that was all that was offered from the lady after speaking to whom I believe was the Male boss in the back ground. The lady was lovely. And couldnt apologise enough hence the two star. The call ended. I think at the time I was thinking it's just bubblegum missing but in reality when I started eating it I would of rather had a replacement of what I actually ordered as it was nothing like our order. A waste of money spically at £11.50 and really disappointing. 😭Shame really 😭

Comically thick, flavourless milkshakes and waffles that wouldn't win a taste test with the 50p packet ones from Asda. Maybe I got them on a bad night, everyone else seems to rave about them but I'm not impressed.

The manager is very uncooperative and rude

I placed an order at about 19:50 on their ‘website’. Put all the details through and the money were immediately taken out of my account. On the website it said that the food would be with me at 21:15. The times comes but the food is not here still. I ring the place and the woman asks me what address it’s for and says the food is with the driver so it won’t be long. 21:45 comes and the food is still not here. I ring the place to check, the woman asks for my address but this time she says they don’t have an order for it. Is this a joke? She says they have no clue about that website and it must be someone pretending to be them. So after almost two hours, I didn’t get any food, the money won’t be refunded and they basically don’t give a s*** about that ‘website’.

Didn’t rate the cheesecake, plain and bland. We got two cheesecakes and both ended up in the bin. The cookie dough was also a let down. The milkshake was a 5/10. Wouldn’t buy from again.

i loved the the treats i was served. i had great staff and i found our family bill good. the soft drinks went down a treat and the puddings were amazing, i wish i could find fault but i Cant .

Arrived earlier than expected. The Mr. Whippy was still frozen which was awesome! Generous kinder waffle that was really delicious (you should do bubble waffles with that batter 👍) and the fudge. The FUDGE. Try the cookie dough fudge, pretty sure it's handmade and it's so smooth. It's delicious. Don't be salty because they're busy, be patient and they're worth the wait. Also way cheaper than kaspas.

Waited for quite a while to be served in the shop but they were obviously too busy dealing with orders so we ended up walking out and went to kaspas which is just up the road, where we received a much better service

Decided to drive to get an ice cream after waiting almost 10 minutes I walked out. Never even acknowledged us. Just focusing on delivery’s. won’t be back. You could just say hello and we won’t be long. But a new delivery come in and you started making that order.

Lush, the waffles are to die for. I recommend getting dairy milk choc instead of nutella, it's alot nicer. With strawberries and ice cream.

I visited sweet escape with a friend after trying kaspas but finding that sweet escape was cheaper. Cakes looked delicious and there was good selection to pick from. We tried to order food, to be told by an employee that he couldn’t put an item through because he didn’t know the price so we couldn’t order. Luckily another employee came and put the order through instead. Both members of staff sounded like they didn’t want to be there and we’re not very friendly. I ordered a toffee milkshake and was told you have to pick from these flavours (chocolate bars). I asked if there was anything other than chocolate as I couldn’t eat chocolate and was then told I could actually have what I asked for in the first place! The food was ok but prefer the desserts at Kaspas. Also found a hair in the food and there was an annoying buzzing sound which wasn’t nice to sit and listen to. Overall wouldn’t return.

I think we have had it all The waffles are the best in my opinion with the different toppings The fresh cakes are always lovely with a good choice The milkshakes always go down well with the kids you choose what you want in it ie chocolate bars etc Not had a bad desert yet

Me and my friends ordered at night and It was going to take 2 hours to come, however it still hadn’t arrived after 3, so I tried to ring them and ask where it was but they wouldn’t answer the phone or would just end me. When the finally arrived later, we didn’t get a chance to speak to them about it as they said ‘take this’ and walked quickly away from us. The next day we ordered again and they gave us a milkshake instead of the cookie dough we had ordered, therefore someone paid the wrong amount of money and when we asked them about it they said we had ordered the milkshake when we clearly hadn’t. The food was still good, however I recommend visiting the shop and not getting delivery as it will take a long time and they may make a mistake.

Popped in for a milkshake and was impressed by the selection they offered. There was a slight delay in being served and getting orders but to be expected given it was busy. Shop appeared clean and tidy and l liked the booths. Only letdown for myself was the music being played, seemed slightly out of place given the 50s theme of the shop to be playing a YouTube playlist.

Amazing food, the staff serve when they can. Honestly my favourite place to go for food! Fully disagree with these bad reviews as I go all the time and are yet to be unsatisfied!

Rubbish can't correct mistake AVOID at all costs sweets for kids rock solid it's a joke !! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!
