A proper old school pub with an excellent selection of beers and spirits. Lovely beer garden. The hosts are particularly welcoming. I will pop in for a pint next time I'm in the area.

This is a lovely free house pub that always has a wide range of decent ales. Lovely atmosphere of a typical English pub. They have bar snacks but they don't generally serve food. They've also got a wonderful beer garden as well when the weather is nice enough.

This is my mates local. Seems a really busy friendly pub. Long live the local. A place where people can meet and forget their troubles for a while. Nice to sit outside when it’s sunny.

If I could give no stars I would! I never usually take the time to leave reviews, never mind negative ones but after today thought I would! Attempted to meet my family today in the open garden and was asked to leave with my 6 year old and baby because the landlady would rather have 2 adults than the places our children would take up so we had to leave leaving all our family having drinks in the sun! Have been going for 3 years and was planning to order lots of drinks to celebrate being able to see the babies grandparents but glad I haven't now! Profit over family! Won't be going back again now despite my parents living across the road! Hope our 6 year olds place was worth losing a families custom!

5 star for me. They sell the best lager around for miles: Dortmunder Union fresh from the barrel. The Landlords are a cheerful couple to complete the traditional impression of this lovely Pub.

Would give it a zero star if I could. Got turned away with my partner as soon as the man behind the bar saw my face with a "local only, you're not welcome tonight". I just walked from the village where we're staying with local family. My partner had just told me 3min before that she has clear memories of parking nearby with her grandfather... I discourage anyone to set foot in a place so shockingly unopen. I have never felt more unwelcome in my life.

Chef paula is an amazing cook .food is brilliant. And the people running it are doing a really good job. Liz n Nigel have made that the best pub around era

A great local pub that welcomes folk from near and far with great real ales. Real fires keep it toasty when the weather's nippy All sports fans can watch matches on several tv's around the pub. A little gem.
