I visited The Broughton with my wife yesterday for lunch. The food and premises are excellent with a really nice, buzzing atmosphere. However, the service was only passable and could be described as tardy. The waiters were all very pleasant but seemed to go 'missing' on many occasions. Just before we were about to leave about 3pm, I looked around and apart from one, all the waiters had gone missing even though there were quite a few people still in the restaurant. Nobody seemed to be in overall charge and I think some sort of Head Waiter type position is needed to ensure the service lives up to the excellent food and premises.

My friends and I absolutely loved our visit here, the building itself on arrival is absolutely gorgeous and it only gets better when you get inside. Absolutely stunning interior, welcoming and friendly staff who were very attentive for the duration of our visit and the food portions and quality were also 10 out of 10. Would definitely visit again.

Food was lovely, but whole experience marred by a £5 bottle of lukewarm tap water!! When offering the water the waitress should really inform you that it costs £5 for the bottle of water, in which case we would have said no. Very very sly way of doing things. Ruined the experience otherwise would have been 4-5 star. Never been charged for water in other restraunts.

This isn't any pub, this pub is definitely a cut above. Very nice open space well decorated. Food is great, a lot of effort went into the presentation.

The lack of president squirty cream was a real failure for the sticky toffee pudding. Frank was not happy. Other than that it was ok. Head on over for good food and drinks. Cheers all

This is our favourite place to eat , the food is always of excellent quality and the staff are brilliant. Today we visited with our friend George and he was celebrating his 102nd birthday and the staff were fabulous even singing to him which absolutely made his day . We can’t thank them enough . Happy New Year to the wonderful staff and management.

Beautiful place. Service was painfully slow with young waitresses stood around gassing. An hour’s wait before any food came out. The starters were great but hampered by the 21 glasses on the table. Cutlery was dirty. Mains came both steaks were overcooked. The sirloin was “burnt” and the wellington was very well done and ordered as pink. The salt and pepper fries were so salty as to be inedible. The burger was tasteless and needed to be dunked in the gravy (which was excellent ) to be rehydrated. The haddock was bone dry and overcooked and came without peas. The garlic bread was swimming in oil and raw. There were children playing between tables and babies screaming. People in tracksuits slouching and noisily eating. Won’t bother reviewing the pudding but we left one virtually untouched. The beer was flat as well. To summarise we had high hopes as we had all eaten at some of the groups’ other places. We were greeted and taken to our table. Then it went downhill. I maybe critical, as I am a food lover but this was very average food at too high a price. I wanted to give a 2 star review but I think it could have just been an off day. The place was just over half full so it can’t be blamed on that. It wasn’t staffing as many times upto three waitresses were huddled chatting. So I can either blame management or a new chef. Lucky to get a 3* for pub grub and a bill of over £400 for 7 people. There were also two drinks on the bill there didn’t order. They were removed, we did however notice that the service charge was calculated pre fake drinks and remained. Only tiny amounts but if this is regular then??? When queried about the extra drinks we were told that it’s because the iPads bounce on the waitresses hips?????

Came here this evening and had an incredible meal. The food was absolutely top drawer. From the starters, to the desserts, everything was superb. There was such a vast choice on the menu, it was difficult to choose; so we will definitely be back again to try something different. The staff were perfect from the moment we walked in. They were very busy, but nothing was an issue, our courses came out very, very quickly. The staff looked after us brilliantly throughout. They are a credit to this establishment. We’ve dined at all of the paragon group’s restaurants, and this was our first visit today. And personally it is the best of the lot in every aspect. Keep up the good work, we will be back very soon. Lovely atmosphere and great food

First visit in about 20 years and what a fantastic visit we had, my son had booked a table for my 50th birthday, there was a small wait for our table but the service was impeccable. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with many people celebrating and enjoying their evening. The food well what can I say just wow, we were not rushed one bit and thoroughly enjoyed our evening…..we will definitely be back, thank you for making my evening.

Some of the nicest interior designs I've seen from a restaurant in some time. Everything aesthetically looks great which then matches up with exceptional service and a really great atmosphere.

Tonight was my first ever visit to The Broughton, and definitely not my last either. OMG it was amazing. The food was to die for. The service and recommendations we received from our server Jordan were bang on. Jordan recommended the soup of the day, which was creamy chestnut mushroom. Absolutely delicious. For main I had the seabass and kind prawn Thai curry which is my sister's favourite, I believe it is mine too. It was outstanding. The salt and pepper fries we had as a side dish were equally outstanding. Jordan was very attentive, chatty, professional and he literally couldn't do enough for us. He ran off his feet but still made time to check on us. It was an absolute pleasure to join you tonight and I cannot wait for my next visit. Thank you Jordan and the rest of the team for making our night extra special.

Came here this evening 30/12/24 with my mum. Just walking up to the front door you can the energy this place will not disappoint. Absolutely loved the food, atmosphere, energy and customer service. This restaurant is going to become apart of my regular restaurant rotation system 😎

Really like this venue, it has an air of grace and class to it. I would have liked to have given this venue a 5 Star, however it fell short for me on two grounds, the lack of premium spirits, it's Christmas, I like a Malabu and coke, they don't serve Malabu. I must stress we were a walk in, I was with my friends from the TV show - Real Housewives of Cheshire, we asked for a table, we were told 10 minutes, we asked 20 minutes later, to be told that they're wouldn't be a table for another 30 minutes, staff need to communicate, we left hungry, with nearly an hour stood at the bar.😭

We were visiting the area and our hosts took us here for dinner. I love the decor, plenty of good atmosphere and great vibes. Almost all of us had the teryiaki chicken & green onion skewers and it was absolutely great. My husband had the cottage pie and he polished his plate in record time, always a good sign.

First visit here tonight. Always love the Paragon group and this venue didn't disappoint. Great atmosphere and lovely food. Jordan our server was great. Very attentive and professional.

The food was excellent, with the standout being the steak teriyaki starter. It was perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor—an absolute highlight of the meal. The rest of the dishes were just as impressive, showcasing great attention to detail and quality ingredients. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and we’d happily return for another visit. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing meal with my 2 daughters, the service was extraordinary as there was always someone to ask for drinks or anything else. The food was very very good, and even the kids lived it.

Pace of the service was spot on, around 3 hours from start to finish was just perfect as don't want to rush 6 courses. A big thank you to all the staff for making the experience worthwhile. We have enjoyed our first family Christmas meal in the Broughton. What can I say... the decor and setting is flawless. Amazing place to eat and drink. The meal, the service considering how busy it was impeccable. We have done all of the venues in the paragon group. I have been impressed with every single one. I must say the service and food at the Broughton is the best. The staff and the managers were so welcoming and polite. An absolute pleasure and will be visiting regularly. Thank you so much for such a memorable evening, meal and experience.

Attended for my birthday on christmas eve. Even though it was busy the staff were friendly attentive and helpful. Food was absolutley delicious and it was an overall joyus occasion.

Good service, ambience and food.

This is my 4th visit to the Broughton in the last 12 months, the ambience and aesthetic is brilliant, but the service and food is lacking. I struggle to comprehend how Paragon has other successful venues but this one unfortunately doesn’t compete. After being seated at our table, 20 minutes had passed and no one came over to take a drinks order, we had to ask. The drinks arrived, another 20 minutes had passed, and no one had taken our food order. Again, we had to ask someone to take the order. Our starters arrived, which overall were presented well but they were barely warm, we returned the garlic pizetta as it was literally swimming in oil and the centre was just raw dough. After finishing our starters, it took more than 20 minutes for someone to notice the clear plates. Our mains then arrived, the burgers were fine but the vegetables with the roast turkey were overall inedible and extremely under cooked. Again, the food was barely warm. I can’t help but feel that if the Broughton wasn’t in the location it was and didn’t have the ambience/aesthetic that it does it wouldn’t be a success. The service is shocking, it’s like your made to feel as though you're an inconvenience. I accept and understand that this is an extremely busy time of the year, but the venue seemed well staffed, we arrived at 8PM when the majority of service is complete as well. Unfortunately after this most recent experience I won’t be returning nor will I recommend.

Disappointing Christmas meal with my family group. All main courses were tepid at best. Didn't return them as they took so long to get to us. Customers with the standard menu seemed to be a lot happier than we were.

Lovely friendly staff, food was excellent as per despite it being super busy in the lead up to Xmas and big parties.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch today, the service by Shane was fantastic. The food was delicious and we look forward to coming again soon.

We had a table booked at 8pm for a 22nd birthday, we had to wait 20 minutes because the table wasn’t vacated yet. However, the food the service from Shane and the drinks were brilliant.
