This place is consistently always going above and beyond. I don't think there has been a time where I have been here and been disappointed. The food is prompt, and even though it can be quick to come out, it's always good quality. The play area is well maintained and my son always has a lovely time. Emily, Ella, Jo, Irene (and the rest!) are all really friendly.

Food was hot and reasonably priced, shame their was a few things missing from the menu.

Booked last minute due to being stuck in traffic on the M5. Jo was helpful in getting us a table, made sure we had all we needed and was the smiling face we needed after our long journey.

Pleasant pub. We had the Sunday roast which was a bit of a Microwave meal. It was ok but we've eaten here before and wish we had ordered off the main pub menu rather than the roast. Nice little play area outside for the younger children (under 10). Staff trying to clear the table when the three children were still eating. They didn't seem too happy but then maybe it was just an off/bad day.... You never know what's going on personally for each of them so just be kind. Toilets were all in need of a clean and locks not working in some. Lots of duck tape holding carpet down just outside the toilets. Needs a bit of a spruce up. Our previous visit was definitely better. Will try again I'm sure

Much better than expected. It was busy due to bank holiday but food came out quickly and was piping hot. Staff behind the bar were efficient but need some customer service training. Serving staff were friendly and attentive. My only complaint was that it needed to be cleaner.

Shocking place to eat avoid at all cost 7 adults 4 kids went here to eat on the way back from my Daughters wedding . 3 out of the 7 meals where worth eating. Complained to staff who got the manager after telling her how bad the food was and we use hungry horse where ever we go if possible her reply was well we all get our food from the same place . Had no idea how to deal with my complaint at all then just walked off . Came back a little while later to offer a refund soory to say very poor staff and food.

Found it OK. Food was nothing special, beer was pretty standard.....

What a shame soo many dogs allowed in whole restaurant area and not kept together. Owners feeding dogs from the table others allowed to have them on chairs and owners laps. And staff stroking dogs as walk past and them handle people's orders. Such a shame.

Called in on the way past, great value food, served quickly and very tasty. Family friendly couldn't really ask for anything more.

They catered for a large group with lots of children sitting us in the conservatory so we could all be together.

fantastic service and fantastic food we pop into the supermare pub for lunch Monday 5th August the place was very busy but we still got a table and drinks we ordered food I had chicken newyork the other had stake my chicken newyork was amazing and the stake were cooked to perfection as well we order med. med rare. and rare.and the waiters sam was very polite and helpful she checked if everything was ok witch it was I highly recommend going to the supermare pub no matter how busy they are they make sure that you have everything well done to everyone that works in the supermare pub

We booked a table here for a Monday evening at 7.15pm. On arriving it was very busy, we were shown to our table by a stressed and very abrupt lady and after asking someone to wipe the chair down as there was pizza on it we wanted to get a drink from the bar before ordering food, we were told we had to queue up with everyone ordering food. This queue was nearly out the front doors. It was absolute chaos, lots of people complaining, awful way of doing things, so we left and won't be returning.

Disgraceful service , disgraceful food macaroni cheese was dry missed out peas and was rudely told you can have peas if you want !! Well yes the meal comes with peas!! this pub should be ashamed no care just dry bland food I would avoid this place at all costs and go elsewhere!!

I recently visited The Super Mare on two occasions Friday and Sunday with a friend for lunch, and what a lovely relaxed visit, Firstly The Manager, she was welcoming and very friendly and obliging, and was certainly under control with it being busy . The Staff behind the bar, again, were very friendly and polite and made ordering very easy and helpful. The table waiting Staff , again , full marks for friendly service. The Food was lovely, it was Hot , tasty and cooked as expected, the presentation was good and the menu was as expected for a good pub lunch with a choice for everyone. Our first visit was on Friday 2nd August and with it being so enjoyable we went again on Sunday 4th of August, this time I booked as I knew it would be busy , I requested a table and when we arrived that table had been reserved with no problems. If I had one criticism it would be the tables were in need of replacing, they were heavily worn and marked. All in all, well done to Management, Chef and staff for a great job and we look forward to coming back.

A big hearty pub with comfort food! This is no 5 star Michelin establishment which I think many people forget haha, the price of the food is cheap and fair, you get what you pay for! My meal was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Seeming as it was extremely busy here. I think all the staff did a great job!

Andria served us and was lovely. Burgers were lovely and great value for money.

Car broke down, thankfully we were able to get to the Hungry Horse Super Mare to wait for our tow truck. The staff were excellent: helpful, accomodating, reassuring. Food was good value for money. Kids enjoyed the play park.

What a massive disappointment. The food served has to be the worst I have been served in recent memory, possibly ever. It was barely edible. in fact, I remain convinced that my order was either leftover from the night before and re-heated or served as a test to see how far a customer can be pushed. On arrival my party was seated quickly and we were advised what was not available, which included garlic bread and Quadzilla's from memory. I opted for the ‘Crown of Burger’. It arrived very quickly and perhaps I should have seen this as a warning. The burgers were cold and dry, the minimal lettuce was wilted and looked as if it had been heated in a microwave it looked and probably tasted disgusting. The small burgers tasted like dry cardboard and I had difficulty cutting into them. I am not sure it was even real meat but quickly gave in. The buns that housed this excuse for a burger were stale. The fries were okay but cold. Normally I have a healthy appetite and will eat most things even if they aren’t brilliant. In this case, the chef and I use that term loosely, managed to concoct something that was completely inedible. I persevered but, in the end, I only managed to eat a few fries and the two small, but tasty, chicken fillets without the stale buns. The rest was returned and I informed the friendly waitress that the food was so dry and unappetising that I genuinely couldn’t eat it. Normally this comment might be expected to result in a visit by a concerned manager, an offer to cook something else or even a partial refund for this particular menu item. Never happened, the young lady simply apologised and removed my plate, then nothing. My party then had a discussion about this and concluded that this type of issue or complaint was likely so common that it had just become routine for waiting staff. Something that was to add insult to injury, the coffee machine wasn’t working either. The irony was, when I was asked to choose a restaurant, I said that we should play safe and go for a Hungry Horse because they normally offer value, great food and were predictable. How wrong I was proven to be. Having read a few reviews here I note that, in response to any negative reviews, a pretty standard, ‘copy and paste’ type reply offering to do better and use the content of the complaint to learn. Given many of these complaints are quite old, often repeated and invariably about the same issues, it would be easy to conclude that the replies are just well used platitudes rather than a real commitment to do better. I like Hungry Horse restaurants, but this was easily the worst I have visited. Offering the same old platitudes following a poor customer experience has to be the worst form of form of customer service. It’s lazy and it is meaningless. I find myself asking if Green King monitor these complaints and responses and, if so, are the complicit in allowing such poor service to continue with little to no intervention? One thing is for certain, I will never set foot in The Weston again and it will likely be a long time before I trust Hungry Horse again. They spoiled my lunch with my family and really don’t care. Until this particular restaurant demonstrates some genuine commitment to change and improve, I would give them a wide berth, there are plenty of local alternatives. More widely, poorly managed restaurants within a chain easily damage the efforts of those restaurants that do make an effort. Visiting a restaurant is not just about getting a meal, it is often a planned event with families or friends and a poor meal will sour the experience.

Stopped here because the motorway was jammed. As a fast food chain I did not have much expectation, but for the price the food was good and delivered efficiently and the staff were excellent.

Went for a meal last night, 18 in total for my partners birthday. Lovely food, great, friendly and welcoming service and a lovely atmosphere. The staff couldn't do enough for us which was really appreciated.

Not at all happy with the service, a service which i didn't receive. After booking a table at The Supermare today, i thought i would treat my dad to have a nice meal. We came down to the Supermare from Bristol. There was a coach which turned up. I waited for the line to go down and went to order our meals and drinks. I was first inline, the colleague on the till was doing something, then he looked up to the manager and ask for a code. The manager came over to him and they both started putting in 20 orders which was the orders from the coach. Some of the food that was on the order was out of stock. The manager had to go over to the group and sort the orders out. She eventually said sorry to me, after going to and from the table several times. She could see that i wasn't pleased with the long wait. Both of them didn't say anything as first, they saw that i was waiting to be served. In the mean time the other till had finished and they could of looked up and say to their colleague on the other till to serve me. But that never happened. Then another work colleague walks to the till and says can i help, the people behind me walked to his till and they got served. That was it for me. I must of been waiting not far off of 5 mins. I got my dad and we both walked out. We took our custom else where. Won't be going to the supermare again. Isn't it funny how the same reply from the owner on every review. Seems like she dont know what to say. By the way NO I will not visit your restaurant again. Appalling service, keeping your customers waiting.

Steak chewy but rest of food good

The chicken was quite firm in texture, akin to concrete. I requested a takeaway container for the leftovers. Subsequently, I engaged in a game of basketball with Michael Jordan, using the takeaway chicken as the ball.

First thing to say is that the food is very good value and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The pub is well situated on the way into Weston and is great if, like us, the places you normally go to are cut off by the roadworks in the area. Yes, there is a however coming: we had the Sunday roast. My beef was dry and looked like it had been pre-plated some time before. My companions had the roast turkey: it looked 'pre-formed' and not carved. The food had clearly been near a microwave because the roast potatoes were soggy and the veg was very soft and overcooked. The pub itself is very modern and busy. Choose the wrong time and there can be quite a queue at the bar to order food (there is no table service, although you can use the app). It is clearly well used as the surface is coming off many of the tables due, I guess, to the frequency of cleaning. There is a good outdoor space for smokers and children. Would I go there again? Well, £10 for lunch and a (limited choice of) drink is good. But if I had a choice, no I would not return. I think this is down to the Greene King 'Hungry Horse' formula rather than the team at this pub.

We're regular customers of the Hungry Horse in Burnham and never had issues but recently been to The Super Mare for breakfast and my daughter paid over £4.00 for the waffle and only had 1 small scoop of berries when asked the assistant if that was correct the assistant had to ask the manager if it was OK to add more, at that price it shouldn't have been an issue at all. Won't be visiting again and have since found somewhere local with better value.

We called in for our evening meal as we hadn't been here for a while. No sooner had we sat down then it was announced that it was quiz night....no worries we thought we could join in but we didn't know how.....hubby went to order at the bar and no information there....Ahhhh well no worries ....then the problems got worse...hubby asked for soda water but was given still water which he was convinced was tap water! Our starters arrived which were ok ....I had cheesy garlic ciabatta ...more cheese than garlic tbh... wouldn't order it again. Literally within a minute our main meals came. I had the steak & ale pie with mash, peas and gravy. The pie was cold, the mash was dry, the peas anaemic looking and the gravy had a thick skin on it. My husband's sizzling chicken was cold and pale. The onions and "veg" cold and lank. Only 6 chips. Hubby took one bite out of the chicken and said he couldn't eat anymore as it was disgusting. Trust me, if he says that then it must be bad as he very rarely complains. It looked as if it had been left on the pass when our starters had been served! Hubby went to the bar to complain and a waitress appeared to take the plates away. 20 minutes later we were served "fresh meals" My husband's plate was much hotter this time BUT it was still the same piece of chicken where he had taken a piece out!! My pie was burned, the mash dry and a thick skin still on the gravy BUT the peas were actually green this time :) We complained to a woman who worked there and she gave us our money back that we had paid for the main meals.....we didn't want that but just a decent edible meal. We have eaten at the Hungry Horse in BoS (rosewood) and it's so much better and consistently so....so it's nothing against HH per se but this particular meal! I wouldn't visit this one again,

Very hit and miss ! Went Monday and the place had a great atmosphere and good food. As it was good we went again on Friday and it was very different, an overall terrible experience! Understaffed hence massive waits at the till, food seemed rushed and the same order was fulfilled differently to monday! When this was explained to staff we were just rudely dismissed. We won't be trying a third time thanks to the poor management on our last visit. Plenty of other good restaurants locally... don't bother.

Everytime we go, Jo finds us a table even though they are busy. The food is good for the price we pay for 5 of us. We visit near enough every Friday and always enjoy it.
