This pub is five minutes away from my house however it has changed hands multiple times, food used to be really expensive and general. It’s not that trendy even though it is by the train station in Milton

Great pub, new management have really turned it around

I have been to this place plenty of times before, and it has always been great so on Saturday, i decided to save on washing up and go and grab some food and a few drinks. Every time i have been in previously, the staff are very friendly and have always been lovely. They had someone I had not seen before behind the bar. This bartender ignored me for 5 minutes, and while i was waiting to be served they then went off rummaging for something, chatted to a customer, and completely ignored me. I was planning on getting food and having a few drinks. However, I will not be going back again. Another couple walked in behind us and he did exactly the same thing to them. The bartender clearly needs some training or shouldn't be left unsupervised as they are quite literally driving customers out of the door. The place had a few customers but I have seen it much busier and other than myself and the person I was with, there was NO ONE waiting to be served. It's a shame because with someone like that behind the bar, I imagine it won't be long before it has no customers and has to shut again.

My local pub so thought we'd try it for the first time since it reopened. Went in, it was an average crowd for a sat night. Stood at the bar and we were the only people waiting to be served. Bartender says he'll be with us in a few minutes, then proceeds to ignore us while he stacks loads of glasses into the glass wash. Seeing as though there was no one else waiting, he could've served us easily and then sorted the glasses. I was a bar manager for 4 years, and I'd of never let that standard of service be considered acceptable. So we left and had a lovely meal elsewhere. Won't bother returning any time soon, which is a shame as it's 2 minutes from my house.

They don't do food at the moment but are looking into it. Plenty of parking.

Absolutely awful! Visited here this evening for a drink & will not be returning again. Waited 10 minutes at the bar to be served, it was so loud with people singing karaoke that the 2 bar staff couldn't hear a word. The man who served me just wandered off half way through serving me. The atmosphere was loud, unpleasant & uncomfortable. The choice of lager was terrible. The clientele were questionable, very mouthy & rude. Felt like we had crashed someone's private party rather than going for a drink in the local pub. Would not recommend!!!

I’ve been frequenting the borough for many years, but this is the first Time I’ve actively wanted to write a review… 1st day of the new menu with a new chef and that was quite honestly the best steak I’ve had in Weston… and incredibly reasonably priced. The owners and staff are always very friendly and welcoming, the pub is always clean and clearly looked after, and with sport and live music it has something for everyone!

Went today as they launched their new menu - food was outstanding. Steak was cooked to perfection. Brilliant value for money. Friendly, welcoming staff. Glad to see the return of good home cooked food within the pub. New chef is an absolute asset to the pub.

Family pub, run and owned, Simon and his mum and dad make it a welcoming and friendly place to visit. Proper pub food, great value and choice of drinks. Dog friendly aswell. Check out the regular bands playing at the weekends. Regular extra value food offers availble. Thursday steak night a great addition.

Dropped in here after an evening at college learning about Neurodiversity. Plenty of space for the 8 of us that enjoyed some decompression following the training. Staff and regulars were warm and welcoming, making sure doors were held open for people with mobility issues. Enjoyed an hour chatting.

Lovely, friendly staff, (prices a little dear, but that seems to be the way with pubs nowadays! Greedy breweries killing the trade@!), live bands on occasional Fridays, makes it a great venue to sup a cool beer or 2

I went for a roast dinner with a friend. Very dissapointed, couldn't eat Frozen potato's and Yorkshire... soggy veg, and dry meat. The excuse from the waiting staff was they didn't have a full time chef in at the moment. Very dissapointing and left hungry and out of pocket.

Enjoyed a swift half of neck oil.

Cracking pub called in to watch the cup final had a good time with the locals, shame Newcastle lost .....will go again next time I'm down south again

The food here is so so good. Popped in after the gym for a nice lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Definitely recommend and will go again!

Really nice local boozer with sports and a pool table.

Had a midweek lunchtime meal. It is a big pub and was quiet, but the barman was very friendly. We waited a little while for the meal which is a good sign that its maybe being freshly made. The food was great, plentiful and cheap with both main courses being well under £10 each, difficult to find these days. It is a simple no notice pub, but I would highly recommend as an impromptu venue for a meal.

Only went for a couple of drinks with friends sunday late afternoon. The garden is dog friendly and I think so is the bar. The bar is in 2 halfs one side has a pool table, darts board and sports tv, the other half had a cosy atmosphere (as it was getting a bit cold outside and we went inside) nice choice of drinks but no coffee but still enjoyable

Had to wait a while for the food. I had chicken tikka. It was definitely not home made ( as stated on the board outside). It was nice but could have come out of a tin. The pilau rice I think was boil in the bag ... The yellow artificial colouring came off on the plate . Very disappointing really. We have been before but the sorry state of the food and the 'old' smell of the place means we may not go again.

Had a really nice beer in the garden out the back here staff where friendly and nice the beer prices where reasonable too.

Initial feelings were that it had nice decor,it was clean and the general feel of the place was quite positive. Very friendly lady behind the bar and seemed to be working on her own, at least front of house anyway. They served food and the menu was quite varied, seemed to have something for everyone, the presentation was nice and the food tasted lovely and the range of drinks availablewas good and also really nice. I would recommend this as a place to have a good pub meal and/or have some drinks.

The food was absolutely amazing. And a very generous portion. The chips are thick crunchy and cooked to perfection. The staff are all friendly.

Initially thought not another pub with inflated prices... Honestly, home cooked food not the mass produced stuff.. Reasonable drink prices and a good atmosphere.. Thanks for a good evening.

Top hole! Excellently served Exmoor Gold Ale and a light lunch of crisply battered calamari, seasoned to provide just enough heat with a side salad in a citrus dressing. A friendly welcome, spotlessly clean and some amiable locals. Very pleasant. Thanks to all.

Amazing food at amazing prices.... Stumbled across this gem as our Hotel Restaurant couldn't seat us till 9pm. Couldn't believe our luck. Super friendly team and fabulous atmosphere. 5*

No heating upstairs had to ask for heaters, no bar open upstairs, toilets down stairs, not enough staff on anytime

Great atmosphere. Super friendly family run pub. We regularly eat there on a Sunday with the family Inc children and babies.

First time for food for us and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality as well as the quantity. Definately will be going again!

Only popped in for a quite game of pool with my son, was quiet (but then it was a Tuesday) felt warm in there and liked the fireplace.

Called in here as we were staying locally for a few days it was clean and friendly the food was very good me and my other half enjoyed a few pints I gathered it had recently been refurbished so it was looking smart and bright and welcoming so 5 stars for you!

Recently had a wake there. Simon was so accommodating. Food was excellent. Highly recommend.

We would go a lot more if they had live music, and a Singer. Some karaoke too on some weekends would great. Shame there's not more going on.

This pub has been re furbished throughout and looks great. Staff were smart and friendly. The beer selection was very good,even my 86 year old Father was impressed. Had lunch for 4 from the new menu and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.

0It's ok beer isn't particularly reasonable, lovely refurbishment, still get the glares from the regular publicans if you're not a regular. Didn't try the food, there are a number of different burgers around £8+. There is a skittles alley however that is in need of a refurbishment still.

The recent refurbishment makes it a much nicer place. Food is amazing and so are the staff. Definitely would recommend

I have never been to this pub before as i know it had a bad name. I heard through the grapevine that it had changed hands and the food was good. We booked it for 6 of us for mothers day as everywhere else was booked and i have to say we the food was amazing. You could tell they had a proper chef in the kitchen as the carrots were not chopped but sliced in the way only a professional chef would cook it. 2 members of my family had roast beef and it was so tender it melted in your mouth. Most places you go the beef is always tough. The gravy was so tasty and all veg was freshly cooked even the yorkshire puddings were home made. The waitress was lovely and they brought the mums a box of matchmakers out for a mothers day gift. We will most definately will be returning here to try the home made burgers next and we will be back for a sunday roast. Thankyou Borough Arms for making our mothers day special

We went to the borough arms on Friday for food and drinks. Made very welcome by the barman. He gave us menus. We all had a luvly meal although the meals were small and very little veg, on saying this, the food was tasty. We decided we would take the family for Sunday lunch. We booked as the barman said that was best. When we arrived we ordered our drinks. Told where our table was. No menus arrived so eventually we had to go to the bar and get them ourselves. When our food arrived all the Yorkshire pudding were burnt meals were small very little veg and quiet dry I asked for more gravy when the barmaid asked how our food was and she just walked away. If you chose beef it was an extra 2 pound. I think the food is very over priced for what we had, also all the food had to be ordered from the bar , but charging restaurant prices. It may be that they are not totally organized yet as they have not been open long

Borough Arms :Great Refurbishment and Now serving home cooked Food : Called in for Lunch : Chicken Burger Chips and a pint of Heineken Welcoming great Staff, Clean Modern Environment and the Food was homecooked good quality and really great value. I had a good experience and I was even given a Loyalty Voucher tby Staff so look forward to visiting again soon
