A proper, traditional English pub in the heart of London. No gimmicks, no heavies on the door, simply a warm welcome from the fabulous staff and a great atmosphere!

Popped in before going to the theatre for a bite to eat. Wasn't disappointed. The pie, mash and gravy were fantastic. Definitely recommend!

Staying the the Travelodge and was looking for a bite to eat, thought the Sun Inn was handy and wow it didn’t disappoint. The only serve Pie and Mash however it was the best pie and mash I’ve ever had

We visited London staying at the local travel lodge. The Sun was a two minute walk away. We frequented the pub on both evenings of our stay. On both occasions it was brilliant. A great atmosphere, great beer and superb staff. The landlord recognised us the second time and we felt like regulars. Such friendly and professional service. Fabulous! We will definitely return when next in London. Thank you!

Came to London to see Diana Ross staying at the Travelodge and bumped into this little gem of a pub xx the landlord and his staff were brilliant very professional and polite xx the two young girls behind the bar manners were impeccable xx shall defo visit again xxxx

We popped into this place before the theatre, the staff were so lovely and friendly. I asked if they did ice cream for my daughter, and they made one especially for her. Lovely relaxed vibe, we would def visit again.

Great little pub, amazing staff they were all so nice and friendly . Decent priced drinks for London. Great Jamaican Paties too. Little bit of outside space too.

Stumbled across this place whilst staying at Travelodge, small seating area outside (ideal as had 9yr old son with us), the bar staff were very welcoming and made my son feel comfortable. Only a street or two away from main action, but nice and relaxed and didn't feel over crowded like some of the other places looked. Had a few drinks, went for meal, then came back for more drinks before heading to the Cambridge theatre.

We had gone down Drury Lane only to find the pub we were going to wasn’t doing food so we walked on and found this tavern serving pies. The two guys behind the bar made us feel so welcome. They laughed and joked with us. They even told us the pies wouldn’t disappoint. We ordered the moo pie and the free range pie with potatoes and gravy. It was served on an enamel plate on a board. The pies were excellent . Several beers were on offer. Guys thanks for making us so welcome

Lovely local pub that provides brilliant atmosphere with excellent service. Welcoming staff, especially the manager behind the bar who took time to speak to all the customers even though he was training 2 new members of staff on one of the busiest days of the week. We decided to have pie and mash for dinner - we weren't sure what it was going to be like but it has to be one of the best pies we have ever eaten. Definitely recommend a visit.

My wife and I have spent a good many hours in our non local local. It's a pub we really look forward to visiting and chilling out in. It's homely, the staff are friendly, very welcoming and attentive, it's all that's needed to provide a customer with a great British, non clicky, pub experience, dead easy but very hard to find. On a previous visit when we've eaten, it been great, however, the heatwave of mid July 2021 certainly wasn't conducive to food ! We'd like to give a big shout out to Herman and his 'out of this world colleague'. Thank you.

Visited the SUN on Saturday 29/5/2021, 3 couples (men wanted to watch footie)champions league final, sadly no football on TV, so decided to stay for a drink or 5 which was served with speed and a smile, during the evening we got chatting to the barman(Herman) cracking bloke but sadly a Arsenal fan so he was rather pleased the footie wasn't on TV especially since Chelsea won. Would highly recommend this pub if your in the area or just passing. Massive thanks to Herman for making our visit all the more special. 6 brummies in London for the weekend.

Came in late for a night cap. Was renting a Airbnb nearby and this was walking distance to our flat. Love this place. Friendly staff. Great cider choice. Absolutely recommend if your in the area for a drink.

Staying near bye and arrived late, found the Sun and didn’t expect much. Pleasantly surprised cracking Steak and Kidney pie served quickly and pie was great value with Mash and gravy. Very friendly and great service.

Después de abrir (45 minutos más), esperó la comida (empanadas y puré), luego, cuando llegó una comida, no estaba caliente, la devolví, ¡esperé de nuevo algo CALIENTE que finalmente llegó! A pedido del Bill, tuvo la descarada de pedir un cargo por servicio que estaba en el Bill. Me negué, pero no estaba contento, no fue tan bueno como esperaba y no volvería a ir ahora. He estado así una vez. ¡No era barato tampoco realmente!

A lovely situated pub, not too far from Covent Garden. Unique choice of craft ales on show served by a pleasant Barman. London prices of course however, definitely worth a go to experience the location and ambience of a none miss.

It is often challenging, even in 2018 for women to find somewhere safe to eat, where they won't feel uncomfortable. The Sun, on Drury Lane, is one such place. I had attentive, but not intrusive service, and I would definitely recommend it.

Pleasant enough for a swift half in out of the rain and not far from the tube at High Holborn. Average decor and prices.

Excellent food and choice of wines. Loads of seating upstairs. Fabulous for the impromptu evening after work. Very relaxed atmosphere with great service. A regular.

Sat just inside on a high table with a mate for early evening drinks. Good choice of beers, crowded but lovely atmosphere.

Esta es una muy pequeña y sencilla de pub, con sólo 6 mesas. Paramos aquí para bebidas antes del teatro. Las bebidas eran buenas y a un precio razonable y los camareros eran muy simpáticos. Somos especialistas en tartas de carne la pero no tuvimos tiempo de probarlas.

Este es un pub agradable con mucha variedad. Encontré una cerveza alemana favorita en stock. El lugar estaba limpio, no tan grande y en la noche que visitamos, popular. El personal era eficiente y amable y la televisión tenía canales deportivos. Lo único que estropeó este lugar fue el volumen excepcional de sus clientes. No había música ni volumen de televisión, pero parecían decididos a hablar entre ellos. Los últimos pedidos llegaron a las 2315 horas, ¡bebe!

Una última parada antes de una noche en el Club de la Comedia Top Secret justo al otro lado de la carretera. Una selección de tartas, calentado, pero muy agradable. No es la mejor selección de cervezas, pero con una fantástica ubicación para el club. Nada especial para un desvío como la elección por aquí es inmensa!

After a few months away from home, my husband was keen to get a pint of Guinness. The Sun pub was close to our hotel on Drury Lane. It was crowded when we went in but no surprise on a Saturday night. However, we were served pretty quickly and enjoying our drinks.

Called in for a couple of drinks and some food on a Monday teatime. Do pies from Pieminister which were very good, but all pre-cooked and just reheated up behind the bar. Nothing cooked fresh.

Beer, pie and peas. Chucking it down with rain, got offered some paper towel to dry off at the bar, and they changed the beer without a problem cos the London pride had gone off. Who says Londoners aren't friendly.

Was in the area on a training course and fancied a drink with colleagues at the end of the day. Had only intended to go for 1 drink but somehow managed to stay for 5. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant drinks and reasonable prices!

Called in for a pre theatre drink nobody else at the bar but barman didn't even acknowledge us for 5 minutes , another barman then came we asked if there were any available seats upstairs, the response to which (without managing any politeness or a smile) was there's no one covering upstairs, which was fine but still we weren't asked what we wanted to drink we couldn't believe how unwelcoming and rude so we left and won't return again

We came here for a quick drink after a day out in London. This is a nice pub with friendly staff. My only concern is that the seating is slightly uncomfortable and the stools don't match the height of the table. Other than than very nice!!

Went in for a pie and a pint on a Friday evening. It was great that we were able to get a seat. There was a good selection of food and an ok selection of beer. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Good vibes but tiny inside (we were downstairs, not sure if they have an upstairs). The people are very friendly which is a bonus and drinks are a reasonable price

Popped in here for a drink before going to a nearby restaurant for a meal. Surprisingly it was remarkably quiet and so we were able to find a table easily.The bar man informed me about the different wines available and then, somewhat surprisingly, announced that the prices did not include service! We're in the UK not the USA. I don't expect to tip in a pub.

Ideal if you like nice pint real ale, friendly staff and very clean pub. Did not try the food but looked good.

Used to be average, even slightly shabby but has had a very good makeover under the current owners and we enjoy the occasional visit for luncheon or dinner.Prices are reasonable considering the convenient location close to Covent Garden.

A great pub for watching a match etc.. A couple of reasonable sized TV's situated high up for easy viewing. Serves various types of Pie and Mash, very tasty. Good Selection of Beer/Cider

After acquiring a taste for mulled wine at the Winter Wonderland, we found that the mulled wine at the Sun was even better. Bar staff and customers were also welcoming to us as strangers - making room for us to sit down on a crowded Friday night. We found it strange that the pub was closed on Sunday - but I guess that is down to an area where more people are working than living.

I love pies and "The Sun" is just a few minutes far from my workplace. It does suffer from the identical name of the (more popular) pub in Long Acre but it's still a decent choice for a quiet chat.Pieminister is a well-known brand also available in supermarkets.I think they should revamp the interiors: it does look like the local pie shop/diner but has also a tired look.Pies will take 10 minutes to be ready to serve but the taste of the Moo one does not match the expectations (even for the standard mash, lack of buttery flavour) from such a popular brand. "Square Pie" and "Mother Mash" are far superior.Prices are mid considering the location but no service charge is added, tips are obviously welcome.I would not recommend unless you are meeting friends nearby, then the venue can be quietly interesting compared to local pubs..

We were hanging about waiting for war horse to atart on a very very rainy day and one of the group said 'I feel drawn to the Sun!' We had a few beers and ordered several dofferent pies to share and try all of which were great and a pleasant surprise as none of us had heard of Pieminister before and were a bit dubious. Good music, not too busy, families in there too. Nice place to get out of the rain!

Recently visited here on a Wednesday evening. Very quiet, looked like they had redecorated since my last visit about 10 years ago.There were some TV's on with the sound turned down and music playing.There was one extremely tatooed barmaid not particularly busy, but she was smiley and happy and served me some good guinness. Many of the pubs in this area ar large and noisy, this place is much more relaxed. It was quote late so I didn't enquire about food.

We visited this pub frequently while working nearby. The beer is not well kept, it is expensive and it is very rowdy on weekends. There are much better, friendlier pubs nearby.

We visited the sun while in Covent garden. Its a quiet pub with friendly staff.we had a quiet heogarrden and soaked up the atmosphere. The beer tasted good and was reasonably priced.I recommend a visit.
