The Street Thai Restaurant in Mole Valley

Horrible, horrible taste of old burnt oil in Pad Thai. Unfortunately, waste of money and waste of plans for the evening. I am scared to imagine what's going on in this kitchen.

From other reviews not sure what people expect but this was very average at best Chicken Satay was limp and bland and Chicken Massaman could really have been anything

It's so lovely to have this restaurant in the village, the perfect place to meet friends for supper. The service is excellent and the food really tasty, Crying Beef is a real favourite. As I avoid peanuts the staff are very understanding and unlike many Thai establishment, don't cook with peanut oil

Really enjoyed the lamb shank Massamam but hard to get the sauce off a flat plate, everything else was pretty average, looked good but taste was average and was still hungry when leaving

This is a fabulous restaurant- serving the best Thai food me and my family have had outside of Thailand. The speciality ‘sticky chicken’ is just fantastic. It’s not cheap, but in almost all cases you pay for what you get and in this case you get delicious food, friendly and professional staff and a decent atmosphere. Take away is great too, their app is easy to use.

We were originally booking into another restaurant in the high street that messed up our booking ! Looking up the road we saw this restaurant was open, and had a spare table or 2 free ! Great 👍 Let me say , this is some of the best Thai food I’ve had at half the price! I shall be bringing my whole family back again soon . The food eas amazing !

went there at 12 for lunch and it was not open. Saw a staff inside and asked him about opening and he said “not open, and even open you need to book the table; no one booking any table today so not open. “ Never see a restaurant like that. If that is the case say it clearly on your website!!! What a disappointment, will never visit them.

We had different dishes and shared them all, everything was really good. Delicious food, nicely cooked. Reasonably priced and good service. This was our 3rd or 4th visit.

Would rate zero if I could. Driver turned up at the restaurant which is a 5 minute drive away, picked up our food, but sat there waiting 20 minutes for another order to be prepared, to deliver on the way. Messaged him to see what was going on and was completely ignored. Our food eventually arrived in a cold, soggy mess. We tried to reheat it to make it edible, but it didn’t turn out well and defeated the whole point of ordering a takeaway. The worst part was watching the driver just sitting at the restaurant for all that time, knowing the quality of our food would be impacted as a result. It is not a cheap service (especially in the current climate) and we’d be more than happy to pay for it if we actually received that we pay for, but we don’t. After this terrible experience they have sent stock answers to us and haven’t investigated the matter, even though we have presented evidence of the driver sitting at the site for a very long time, delaying our order. Will not be ordering with them again and would urge others not to. Customer service is terrible, you cannot speak to anyone throughout and just get stock answers through the app. They are absolutely robbing people at such a very hard time for us all as a society. Would urge all to please avoid at all costs!!

We love supporting local shops & restaurants and we think we’ve found a real Thai 💎 that serves really good, flavoursome Thai cusine from genuine Thai’s, with no added bits of non Thai vegetables🤗 We’ve tried a number of different dishes from the main Menu and I especially liked their Red Duck Curry, with extra 🌶, but they also serve a set menu of Chicken or Vegetarian Thai Curries for Sunday Lunch, for less than £12/person! Really? Well, yes😋🤗. So, is it worth it and what are the flavours like? We each had different dishes i.e. Red, Green, Pad Thai & a Basil Curry etc. and we all enjoyed them. The portions are a little smaller, so we also had a selection of their starter’s and again, they were great value and very flavourful, so a lovely meal at an amazing set price.

Ordered from here for the first time last night... We arranged a pick up which saved us 10% (ask for the pick up offer) which was much needed as money is tight at the moment! Our order was all vegan (thanks to the Mrs) and even though the request for a vegan egg fried rice was met with some laughter (on both sides) everything was very fragrant, really authentic and nicely cooked. The green Thai curry was slightly hot for our tastes but this is a preference and I have no doubt that if we had requested for it to be a bit milder that the restaurant would have definitely accomadated us . Very friendly staff when my Mrs picked up the food and she also commented on how busy the restaurant area was. Will definitely return for a take away and more then likely we will be visiting the restaurant side for a 'date night'. 5*

Food ok - better Thai food to be had in the area IMO. Main grudge - boxes all half full. Expect better when paying £55 for a take away. Beef mass dry - probably as they’d cut the pieces so small… tasty but won’t order again

i can’t recommend this restaurant enough ! Staff is very friendly and food is simply amazing. I have eaten here several times both take away and in the restaurant and it is consistently exceeding expectations. Absolutely love it here, 10/10.

Just had a takeaway from The Street Thai and I can't recommend this place highly enough! It really is a cut above the other Thai takeaways in the area. We had thai chicken curry, the thai special fried rice and noodles with beansprouts. The curry had crisp vegetables and was incredibly tasty, everything was fresh and hot. Will definitely be getting takeaway from here again.

We arrived without a booking but they found space for the four of us The food was delicious and the service was spot on. We had a great time, so top marks for this gem of a place.

Great food however waited over 60mins for starters and then a further 50mins for mains with other tables receiving their food before when we had ordered first! Appreciate restaurants are busy on a Saturday night but 2hrs 30 sitting in a restaurant for dinner is ridiculous. Want to be supporting local businesses but certainly won’t be heading back there anytime soon unless service improves!

Fantastic Thai restaurant, probably the best I've experienced on the UK. Friendly, efficient service whether take away (collection after ordering from their excellent website) or eating in. The Sticky Chicken is a masterpiece!

Early evening dinner on a Friday night when new to the area. Food was really good and the service too. Good value and would have scored even higher if it had a bit more atmosphere.

Good little restaurant with well cooked, presented food. Grilled prawns a definite hit. Any extra condiments produced with no fuss (so often chillie oil seems to be unheard of). Don't do spare ribs but apart from that very tasty grub.

Our 1st visit to this Thai restaurant. It was a Tuesday evening with a booking for 7.15. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Our waiter took a drinks order and when the drinks came to our table I ordered a sharing platter of starters and then studied the exciting menu. We love Thai food but there were a couple of items we wanted to better understand which was no problem for our waiter who was very helpful. Our sharing platter arrived and everything on it was delicious. Our chosen main courses were also excellent and just as described in terms of taste and chilli heat. Highly recommend a visit to this relatively new restaurant.

A fantastic selection of Thai dishes on offer. The drunken noodles are particularly tasty. The service is always efficient and staff are very friendly.

I am usually wary of Thai food as I avoid peanuts but, having checked out beforehand and mentioning to the staff on the night, only those items specifically saying peanuts (or satay) contain them. Peanut oil is not used. This left plenty of choice on the excellent menu. We were there with friends so each selected a starter and shared them. All delicious, especially the tempura vegetables, the batter was so light. We also tried bits of each other's mains, the Crying Beef and Fishing Village were particular hits. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. We will return.

I'd give it six starts if I could. They never disappoint.

My other half had been yearning for a Massaman Curry, it's one of our favourite Thai dishes, so we decided to try The Street; Chicken Massaman Curry was nowhere near the lovely flavour that we've had elsewhere, and the sauce was thin and sloppy...£8.95 Beef Oyster Sauce Stirfry was much the same, this dish is one of my favourites but was extremely poor, the flavour of oyster sauce and garlic done properly is wonderful, this was not, and the beef was not particularly tender either...£10.95 Vegetable Pad Thai again was lacking in flavour...£7.25 Egg fried rice was ok...£3.50 Prawn Crackers were good...£2.95 Not very hot either so had to warm it up indoors. I can honestly say this was the poorest Thai meal we've ever had and not cheap either at £33.60 Total waste of money, we didn't even eat it all.

I preordered a double gin and tonic for my daughter and son-in -law as a surprise welcome drink. I specifically asked that it was given as they entered the restaurant for an evening meal. When they came home they told me after ordering wine with their meals that the G&T were given to them at the end of the meal . This defeated the whole purpose of my intentions.
