Fetcham Tandoori Restaurant in Mole Valley

Visited again in October 2023 and have been here many times over the past 10 years. This place has changed management over the years. Last night, food, service and restaurant was first class. Would now highly recommend. One of the best Curry's I have had in years. 👍

Very slow service. Food was very average. The chicken korma tasted of nothing. The rice was watery and the onion bhaji was overly greasy. Slight overpriced aswell. Not much atmosphere, just very noisy and only half full. Bookham tandoori is much better and cheaper.

First time experience, as my wife puts it, we had the itch to try. Very slow service and even slower arrival of food. Curry was very nice sauce, presentation good but chicken not cooked. Nan bread also not cooked through. Interior evidently recently improved but heating would have been a worthwhile investment Nothing worse than a cold restaurant and exceptionally slow delivery of food

Used to be so good. Massively gone downhill; no longer use this place. Wonder if it was taken over. So frustrating … o decent Indian food in or near Cobham

Ordered chicken passanda. Chicken was rubbery, food tasteless and to top it all there was a hair in my rice! Straight into the bin!!

Ordered takeaway on a Saturday evening - website said 70mins delivery and called when it didn’t arrive. No answer - left message - now at 1h50 mins and no answer or call back I would never use this restaurant again - understand things can be delayed but not communicating with customers at all is unbelievable - do not order from here

It was our first time ordering and we ordered in the restaurant for a take away. We were welcomed and greeted wonderfully and offered a seat while we looked through the menu, they gave us recommendations based on what flavours we liked and I have to say it was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! The flavour was wonderful, the meat was tender and it was packed in such a lovely way. They even gave me daughter a little after dinner treat. I would highly recommend it. Out next time eating there will definitely be in the restaurant.

Ordered for collection. Arrived on time and had to wait over an hour for them to give me my order. A lot of people for collection were waiting as well

Most of what we ate was inedibly sweet, the korma, the pasanda. Tandoori chicken was dry. Naan flabby. Hard to imagine how it could have been worse. Such a shame. This place used to be the best Indian food in the area.

5 of us have our curry nights every month here. Food great, service is excellent. Hate to recommend as we don't want it to get so popular we can't get in!

Pretty good Indian restaurant. I was there with a group, had poppadoms with chutneys (no lime pickle!) then madras with chapattis, Kingfisher on tap, food good, service good, price, like most restaurants round here gone up. Others had naan, rice and other dishes. They were also good. Probably should lose a star for lack of lime pickle really, but gains one for cool infinite mirror illusion.

This would seem to be 'marmite' restaurant some people liking it and others like myself finding it very disappointing to say the least. I ordered a takeaway and the onion bhajis were soggy and greasy my wife and I found most of the dishes too salty and the onions in the dopiatsa were almost raw. I returned about three quartees of the curry to the restaurant, quietly and before service, along with an explanatory note and all my details. After more than a week I had heard nothing. My wife phoned the restaurant and no apology but they agreed to refund the cost. I would not recommend them.

Wow. This is all my partner and I could say whilst eating our collected takeaway this evening. The lamb in my dish was succulent, very tasty, and melted in the mouth. My partners chicken was exactly the same. The sauce with the dish was thick and creamy, not in the slightest bit watery. The keema naan had plenty of meat in the middle while being very well made and cooked. We also had the mint sauce and mango chutney which was delicious and came with their own branded labels which described the ingredients. The whole package was beautifully presented in their own branded thick paper bag. Upon opening, all the food was hot, and smelt amazing. Finally the rice, which can often get overlooked, was aromatic and beautifully cooked with incredible flavour. Worth every penny. Without doubt, the best curry we have had in a VERY long time. Well done to the team, we will be back for a sit down meal again very soon, as it has been a while since we last visited in person. 11/10.

Been coming here for years, never had a problem. Dont know How they have Messed up my order but ordered 5 curry and rice with them, even ordered rice separately but still given one rice out off 5 so settles for 3, be a very long time before I Come back given the circumstances.

Not great.we were seated at a small table at the front and had to listen to all the stress with customers who were complaining about long waits for takeaways.Not exactly a relaxing atmosphere for a meal! Very disappointed. The larger dining area was not full, and customers should be seated there if they are eating in. The other complaint we had is that the kitchen did not have sufficient supply of mangoes on a Saturday night so the mango lassi and mango dessert was not available, and also okra was not available.

Fabulous food and wonderful friendly staff, what more could you ask for! Highly recommended. Thank you for making our special evening so memorable.

Only 2nd time we've ordered. Never ordering again. Waited over 2 hours for food and the front of house staff kept saying it was on the way. Turned up eventually and asked the young guy when he'd been given the order and he said just now. We were hung up on at one point when I was trying to find out where the food was. I see other comments about the same sort of thing. Really hope the boss sees these.

Woah! This is not your usual village tandoori. This is really, seriously good Indian food with heart and soul. The coconut prawns are the first clue, and the rest of the menu is packed with taste and flavour and fun. If possible ask to be seated a long way away from any Chelski Russians (they park their Posches and Teslas badly and make way too much noise). The restaurant is well worth that tiny risk!

Very unimpressed with the food will not be going again very expensive . However the service was good.

They've been excellent the last 3/4 times I've been to the point where they're my current "Go To" for a curry. One minor point was that a takeaway wasn't as good as eating in for some reason, but not bad enough to deter.

Dont bother, go to five rivers in Leatherhead. Ordered over the phone at 7.15 arrived at 9.30 pm, good god descent common courtesy will be nice and calling that the meal would be 2 hours late. This is not the first time this has happend. food binned had to rise to work next morning. waste of £46.45

Superb food, the best in the area.

If you love Indian cuisine make sure you visit this place as it has delicious food in a great setting and I will be back very soon. The photos doesn’t do this restaurant justice. Lovely surroundings and equally fantastic staff. Make this your next place to eat out! You won’t regret it :)

The food here has never let us down. Hand on heart best lamb biryani we have ever had. We are slightly addicted and it has ruined our experience with our other fav Indian at our holiday home in the new forest. We loved that Indian restaurant before we tried Fetcham Tandoori. Now we don’t bother ordering from anywhere else. Don’t even question it, just order

Very original menu, beautiful presentation . Attractive tasteful decor . Pricey but you can see why. Lovely China dishes make a refreshing change from usual stainless steel

Fabulous evening at Fetcham Tandoori, we have had a lovely meal, the restaurant looks gorgeous, so stylish! Food was amazing, wonderful flavours, beautifully presented and nice and hot. Raj was as usual a marvellous host and our whole party had a really good time.

Absolutely gorgeous meal. Delivery service was so quick and the food delicious. Service all round was 1st class.

We visited on a friday night expecting the usual english/indian meal. Well kudos to whoever is in charge. The menu is very different and the meals did not disappoint. All we can say is look after your chef as he/she is brilliant and very curent. My husband is very critical of what he calls english/indian cuisine and he couldnt find fault with anything. A rare occurance, let me tell you! Service and food top notch. Pay this restaurant a visit as they deserve it and will not disappoint

Wow ! wow wow ... But wow ... you can tell when a restaurant uses fresh herbs and spices - and also takes care and time over their dishes - the lamb slow cooked in all the dishes - super tender - try the railway lamb ... literally falling apart in the curry !!!. by far the best delivery Indian food I have ever had ... Blown away .. just try them .. you will see the difference.

Nice looking place from the outside, the inside is a bit tired, but clean and ok. Service was good and friendly. Had ordered online, which is a well put together system and easy to do, so just collecting. Got the food home and to be honest, it was one of the very best curries I have had in Surrey! Not cheap, but excellent. Am looking forward to being able to try it as a restaurant

i ordered a fried rice and chicken korma curry was tasty but chicken was a bit tough, but to be honest its not worth the price paid for a takeaway as there is a cheaper and better indian takeaway local , far to exspensive ,

We get takeaways from Fetcham Tandoori and wouldn't order from anywhere else. They use lovely fresh ingredients and the food is delicious! Try the Railway Lamb - yum!!

Nice internal layout. We went for a Help Out to Help Out meal. Some items not available on the menu listed online. Generally more expensive than than other Indian restaurants in the area which is mirrored in the quality & presentation of the dishes. It's good! Friendly staff too.

Came here a few years ago as with live in the local area and didn't think that much of it, we decided to give it another chance.I am so pleased we did, we were only there for a takeaway and a beer while we waited, what a pleasant surprise. The staff were very friendly and helpful.the food was extremely good, we have Indian food once a week from various places but this is certainly one of the best and we will be back often.

The passion of the owner and his team at this restaurant is reflected in the quality and authenticity of the food they serve. We ate Sagolir Manksho, a goat curry which was beautifully presented but most importantly it tasted delicious. A real treat to see different meats on the menu, cooked with imagination, flair and bursting with flavours. Next time we will be trying the Sizziling Pheasant dish! This restaurant isn’t the cheapest Indian restaurant in the area, but it most definitely produces mouth watering food that you don’t see in other Indian establishments. They can justify the prices, especially as the service is also without fault. It’s refreshing to see a family run restaurant trying their best to push the boundaries and offer their customers a top class authentic Indian dining experience in a relatively small village.

We have been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years and it never fails to impress. in fact we base all our other Indian restaurant food on the Fetcham Tandoor and so far havent found anything that exceeds the quality of their food. Fresh herbs and spices seem to be their recipe for success resulting in excellent flavours and different dishes. More recently the menu has been adjusted to accomodate some more authentic Indian dishes which is no bad thing. Yes, it is slightly more expensive than your normal experience, but believe you me, is well worth it.

We love to come to this place and all our friends who come with us are very happy with food, friendly service and ambiance.Recently la cart have been changed a little bit. They added some new vegetarian options, the presentation of dishes were improved.But they still have their wonderful curry, fantastic aubergines and cheese naan.We certainly will come again and again

Nice food yesterday at the Fetcham Tandoori. Great tasting food and some unique items, especially Naga Bhoot Jholokia with Naan is awesome. Attentive staff. Most important of all to be is their 5 Star Hygiene Rating. Highly recommend.

Booked this meal for 20 colleagues many months ago. Menu all chosen and communicated beforehand to local restaurant that we wished to give our trade to. But, oh dear, it has gone downhill. Firstly the floor was sticky, too many chairs around too few tables and no friendly meet and greet. Service (except from the lady) was slow, lacking in eye contact with no smiles. Food was mediocre with the mains being slightly better as they looked home cooked. Drinks far too expensive, lime and soda at nearly £3?! Come on, that's having a laugh. Food took literally hours to arrive and only after I kept getting up to remind them. Desserts were completely forgotten. Some people had to leave before completing their meal, as it took so long. Due to overcrowded restaurant, 2 people had to crawl under the tables to get out of their cramped space. No coffees, teas or after 8's offered and no 'how was your evening?' Overall such a pity when we had high expectations ...

Arrived to find table booking, which was done on the website was nowhere to be seen. Eventually was seated by blonde waitress who gave the impression of paying attention but DID NOT LISTEN TO A SINGLE REQUEST! Allergy diet restrictions were ignored so some of the food arrived without regard for this! All in all a poor experience! Would not go again.

We have been going here since the mid 1980s. Over the years it has gone up and down. It is in one of the down periods now. Such a shame. The food is still very good indeed but it is grossly overpriced and the service is appalling - not the fault of those serving I hasten to add but they simply cannot cope. And to add insult to injury, they have just run out of beer, bottles and draft. How is that possible in a curry house??!! As we left, one of the waiters was carrying back from Sainsburys next door a basket with a few bottles of beer in it. Good luck with that one!!

We dropped in here for a quick meal. The food was nice enough - flavourful and a wide choice of specials (as well as the standard list). But at nearly £13 for most mains (excluding rice) this is more than we usually spend. And the drinks were also very expensive (c£6 for a glass of red and also a pint of lager). So without any starters, desserts or bhajis, nearly £100 for a meal for 4 was definitely top-end. The service was poor - we arrived before 7, and our mains did not arrive until a short while before 8. I also had to request a second Coke three times. And finally there were no chocolates or hot towels with the bill.We will not be rushing to go back.

Wish I could give 0.Dozens of very angry customers, all waiting over 2 hours for takeaways. All told one hour, but all left waiting for a further hour at the restaurant. Every time you ask for an update you're told "5 minutes".Absolute shambles. The owner needs to get control, but even his own staff say he's just trying to grab as much money as possible.AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Very good food from greenleaf house and rubbish clearance

I honestly cannot understand these other reviews as it was terrible. Lamb Byriani was tasteless oily and had a very odd texture.Mt friend had chicken curry again oily and chewy

I was very impressed with the food here. Lovely light chicken tikka starter followed by a great lamb sylhety with rice and a nan. All cooked to perfection and very tasty indeed.

Called in on our way home from holiday on our way home to Wales. Service was good. The cost of food was a little more expensive than those in Wales but well worth it . Would recommend railway lamb rich and tasty and saag aloo which was drier than we are used to but fabulous flavour. The chutneys with poppadum especially the green mint was lovely . Shame we live so far away . If in the area will certainly visit again. Can’t recommend highly enough

Good places to find quality cuisine of this genre are increasingly hard to find so Fetcham Tandoori is a welcome change.

Served my wife a vegetable biriani that they had failed to separate from their prawn biriani in spite of repeated warnings of my wife's shellfish allergy. She vomited in the restaurant toilets for most of the evening. They said sorry, reduced the bill by the cost of one biriani and our group paid the £300 bill that included service. I won't ever go there again because they couldn't have cared less about what they did. Perhaps if one of their diners died they'd take this more seriously.

We stopped off here to meet a friend , and the food was delicious, the staff friendly and efficient, and the restaurant itself was very nice. I would definitely return again.

Always a great curry. Best to eat in of course, but still the best takeaway in the area from my experience too. (And I have a lot of experience!) My only constructive comment (hence 4 stars not 5) would be regarding collecting a curry for takeaway, as it often takes 5-10 mins longer than they say. They are often very busy, so I'm sure this is a factor, but I would suggest under promising and over delivering by adding 10 mins to the suggested collection time. Food is excellent though, do worth the wait.

Gosth Kazama was incredible and full of bursting flavour. It was sliced leg of lamb with a medium heat. It was not hot and one of the best Indian dishes I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting something different.

My local Indian which has seen a few changes over the years, recently improved decor and menu has enhanced the restaurant,the food is good but I always think it's is a tad over priced for what it is

Hadn’t planned to go here, but ended up in the area , we arrived at 12.30 table for four, not a problem as restaurant was empty, we had excellent service, outstanding food, I don’t think I’ve tasted a curry so lovely, the flavours were amazing, I don’t have any complaints, other than price of wine per glass, when we go again , I won’t have wine, the drinks did really bump the cost up. but if your looking for good service, and excellent food, then this is for you. Other people did arrive after us.

I went here about a year or so ago and it wasn't great, so had an invite to go again and the food was fantastic really nice quality and taste, I've given 4* only because we waited an hour for our main course but it was worth it!!
