A good friendly pub. It serves good food but only a limited selection and only until 8:30. You can't book tables, it is a pub that does a bit of food not a restaurant that serves beers

We had a great lunch , very friendly staff , food excellent, nice atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

The food and the service were amazing. Portions were very generous and the atmosphere in the pub was very friendly. We loved the curry which was homemade and delicious. We will be eating there again very soon. Highly recommended!

The food here was DIVINE! The only disappointment was how rowdy the pub seemed to be, in such an enclosed area. Our table was situated at the back of the pub but we couldn't even hear each other speaking on the same table. Owners were super friendly and staff were very efficient.

pleasantly surprised popped around for lunch just before 3 pm and they made a real effort to serve us before kitchen closed,and the food was amazing on top of it all, very juicy and tender fish fingers for the kids,and the home made curry was lovely, thanks guys

Had a beautifully cooked 'trio' Sunday roast here; pork and beef both succulent and tasty, and while tandoori chicken might not be the most traditional item, damn it was good. Perfectly cooked chicken with a nice warmth to it - took me straight back to Bengal! Nice to see this place buzzing, and it's clear way - hospitality was spot on. Best of luck to the team there!

Had the most amazing roast here today...so good better than many local pubs and ones I've used in Upchurch.....the meat was so good wonderful beef and pork...Real home cooked feel to everything...even the carrots tasted amazing....forgot to ask what they cooked them with.. Classic apple crumble for pud...to.

Absolutely blinding Sunday roast. You can't beat a home cooked roast, however I eat my words. The tandoori chicken was ridiculously good. I had the three meat combo roast and it is something to shout about. I will recommend and come back again on a Sunday x

Went to The Stone Horse today for our Keep Fit Christmas Lunch. Such a nice welcome by staff, service was brilliant and the food came nice and hot to the table and there was quite a few of us. We had the Christmas Menu, probably the best Christmas lunch I have had in a pub. Well done to all the staff👏

Raj looked after us extremely well. The food was rich and very tasty. We travelled from Hertfordshire to visit this cute little pub and the food was just amazing. We would definitely return to this restaurant again as we enjoyed the atmosphere and the family pub. The owner looked after me and my family and we was definitely looked after. We plan to come after Christmas for a nice 3 course meal.

Popped into this Country Pub, and found they did a really good Sunday lunch. The portion of Pork with crackling was very decent. Home cooked with fresh veg. Dog friendly which makes it better, having been out to Cliffe Pools walking the dogs

Went to the Stone Horse last night for dinner as not far from friends in Cliffe Woods and found a nice, happy atmosphere. The bar staff were friendly and accommodating as were the owners who brought over our meals. We had steak ale pie, sausage & mash, veggie lasagne and curry & chips and all went down very well! 👍

Quaint little pub. Food average, not great. Worth a visit for a drink in the garden.

The Stone Horse has always been a lovely pub but under new management recently it has improved even more. Old broken furniture has been replaced and menu updated this is a great pub for families and friends alike.

Lovely place,friendly regular clientele and exceptional owners.

Went for a drink on a hot Sunday afternoon and found this lovely little boozer in the countryside unfortunately we see the menu and dodged the roast dinner due to the high price tag of around £18 and so glad we did after it being served to other customers, so to be fair I couldn't rate the taste of the food only the portion size which looked on the small size ,otherwise the service and drinks are OK. But cam only think there are better places to eat .

I wanted somewhere friendly with good food to take my dad and his wife as she has health issues - it was perfect. I love it here the food was amazing (big portions too ) and the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Made a very much needed special evening for my family to relax - thank you x

New management a breath of fresh air to a lovely country pub. Always welcoming with a variying menu. Traditional atmosphere with a modern vibe is how I'd describe it....best of both worlds to suit everyone!

Staff lovely and atmosphere is good. Roast was good but nothing special, but the owner did accomodate one of our fussy eaters.

My local pub, been going here for years but very disappointed tonight, just went for a drink and had no less than 5 people around me openly vaping in the bar, just seems to be accepted now! Staff did nothing to stop it, probably not paid enough. Hopefully not a sign of things to come under the new ownership.

Very average food. Overcooked (probably reheated) burger with undercooked chips. Wife didn't like the cod and chips either. Decor is decent. Good beer selection.

Two of my friends and I stumbled across this pub on the way to a fort and the food was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and Sky, one of the staff members there (sorry if I spelt your name wrong), helpt my friend with his injury and even offered to ride with him in the ambulance. So thank you Sky and other members that helped out!

We visited over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere, staff and the local regulars, who were very inviting. The pub was very busy and staff were rushed off their feet but they continued serving, with a smile and were very polite and hospitable. I didn't eat but saw many people enjoying their meals, so will definitely be returning for the new landlady's meals, which l've heard such good things about. Lovely family, friendly place and I can see me and my family making a good few visits here. Ps Iwas a little nervous about suitable parking but my fears were allayed because there was ample.🤩

It was a quiet Saturday lunchtime and we may have been the first food order of the day. We enjoyed our meals - I had the steak and ale pie which was clearly home made as stated, a generous slice out of a proper pie, not the bowl of meat with a slice of pastry placed on top that you so often get. Most dishes were offered with a choice of accompaniments, freshly cooked and served piping hot. The garden looked nice although it wasn't quite warm enough to eat outside.

First time here as we have recently moved to the area. Extremely friendly staff and great local atmosphere. Even put your card behind the bar like the good old days! Can’t remember the last time I saw that in London, probably late 90s!! Me and hubby had fajitas that were on special and they were delicious, our three year old was happy with her chicken chips and beans so a success all round! Will definitely be returning

I've eaten here before, quite a few years ago now, and it was very good food, with generous portions. I went there last week with a friend for lunch, and ordered a Ham Ploughmans for £11.95. When it arrived on a slab of wood, this Ham Ploughmans consisted of a thick slice of bread cut in half, 3 small slices of ham (which had seen better days to be fair) a tiny side salad, a dollop of Branston Pickle, and a few silverskin pickled onions and a few tiny pickled gherkins. Although it was sold as a Ham Ploughmans, it was basically the same amount of food as a glorified ham sandwich. That's a lunch destination off of the list! And the pint of Doombar was flat and warm too. Yum!

We enjoy visiting the Stone Horse. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the food is lovely. We would highly recommend a visit.

Completely forgot my birthday landed on a bank holiday and happened upon The Stone Horse as it was the only place that could seat 8 of us. I'm so happy everywhere else was full because the staff was lovely, the food was amazing and the prices were brilliant! Will definitely be back! If I could give a 10 out of 5 I would!
