I hosted my 30th birthday party at the steamer pub in May, What can I say other than 5 stars all round. From the amazing help with the organisation from Andii from sorting a Dj to helping with decorations, no job was too big for this team. I had a large amount of friends and family down for the event and everyone was so so impressed. Whilst the bar was consistently busy, Andii & Lawrence never failed to deliver with a smile on their face and making the continuous effort to make the guests feel so welcome. The added bonus to having the meating room serving food was amazing, everyone absolutely loved it!!!!!!! I can hand on heart say I will always be contacting the pub for any future events I will be holding!!! So impressed as always ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great pub with big screen TV for football, pool table and dart board. Well priced drinks, very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere with two cosy fire places for the cold days. Live music at the weekends and free food on Sundays too. Also big car park and great outside seating space. Very happy The Steamer is open again!

The landlady & staff are absolutely amazing at the steamer all so friendly and welcoming. I often attend whether this is with my work lot or a family catch up, it’s an ideal location with a pool & dart board to keep you occupied along with some amazing deals on drinks!! We often pop down on a weekend for the live music and events they have on, it’s amazing! I have to say it’s definitely my favourite pub and would highly recommend to anyone in the area to pop by an experience The Steamer! 5 star rating all round!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Always a pleasure to visit the steamer. Great authentic food, excellent hospitality from a wonderful couple totally focused on delivering an enjoyable evening. McMullens please come to your senses and allow this place to evolve. It has come along so well in very challenging circumstances. Welwyn will be emptier without the thai. I for one am not interested in another boozer. We and you have the tavern and that is great. The thai adds value to the community please review your rent policy and allow these guys time to flourish. I welcome a response and explanaition from the brewery. What's the logic behind preventing this wonderful team from following their dream?

My parents visited on Friday so we decided to try a take away from the steamer. Wow what delicious food! Everyone of us really enjoyed our meals and all said we cannot wait to try more dishes from here.

Visited the pub with a couple of local friends this Saturday, for the first time. Had been recommended, and I was not disappointed. Family run Thai restaurant, the bar keep (owner) lovely host. Service was great, place was busy. Plenty of choice on the menu for a first timer, with lots of support and advice. As for the meal, best curry I have had for years. It's as simple as that! Go try yourselves I doubt your be disappointed!

This is a little gem, recently refurbished pub into a Thai restaurant. Family business and it shows. No corporate identity , genuine menu, reasonable price. Service was superb despite being very very busy and the food was excellent quality Takeaway service also available Will tell everyone and defo go back!

Attentive staff, good food but got disappointed about the 10% compulsory service charge. To make things worse, the owner gave the impression that he would get back to the staff that had forgotten to put the surcharge on the bill, totally unacceptable.

Went with family for a Mother’s Day meal.. this Thai restaurant still looks like the pub that it once was..which suits the persona of the owner to a tee. Good excellent! Jungle curry nice and hot!! 🌶 red Thai curry really tasty.. leave space for the homemade coconut ice cream!!

Brilliant food and plenty of choice. You certainly have to book to eat in the restaurant.Very friendly staff. My only complaint was that there were large parties and it was very noisy. Definitely will be back.

What a lovely friendly restaurant. The food was superb and very tasty. The food was delivery quite quickly and main meals held whilst 2 of the 6 of us has starters. The presentation of the food looked too good to eat but there was still plenty of it. The price was very reasonable and the bill included service. We didn't feel at all rushed at any time and the waiting staff were really attentive without being imposing. All in all a 5 star evening.

Keep going back in there for the absolutely fantastic IPA. Cannot fault it absolutely perfect every time. It is an oasis in a desert of bad kept real ale. It seems a woman's touch is working great. The curries are excellent too.

Absolutely appalled by this pub. Recently under new management!!! Well it needs to be taken over again. I visited the pub with my boyfriend and used the toilet to change my baby while I was changing my baby there where people taking drugs right in front of me not only that men talking about who was going to the toilet to do "gear" it's clear what sort of standard people run this pub fortunately I'll never step foot in that place again!!!!

Visited steamer on a night out! A number of dogs running wild making the restaurant smell badly. Very unhygienic, bar staff were rude and ignorant and to top it all off went to the loo to find a number of people taking drugs! This place should be closed down

The best homemade burger I've had for ages. Large portion, to much for me but delicious. Lovely staff and service. We will return.

If you want a good curry then here is the place. Much better than sagor down the road in fact knocks socks off there. Staff are friendly and as curry house in pub then what more could you want.The bar area great and friendly with great staff. The beer great. The restaurant if nice and food is great. We visited especially for Sundays lunch on Fathers Day. Had a lovely roast for adults and smaller portion for children. food was excellent, meat was tender and gravy was really tasty. Apple crumble for desert and this was also beautiful. We all had a lovely meal and dad had a free pint. finished off with tea and coffee served with macroons .A lovely touch. This is a pub which does exactly what it says on the tin. Honest pub food (breakfast and lunches) with good value Sunday lunches too. In the evening the food is Indian and supplied by the "Delhi Hut". Being a McMullens pub there's a good selection of beer. The Steamer has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and whilst this is a vast improvement on what was there before (late 70s/early 80s decor) it hasn't lost its "local" feel. Recommended if you need a bite to eat in relaxed and comfortable surroundings, though don't expect haute cuisine. We came for the Sunday lunch with some Australian relations and they loved the Englishness of it!
