Sunday lunch and a dessert for ten pounds,you won’t get a better dinner on a Sunday or dessert anywhere,try the homemade trifle it’s the best.

Chris and her family are the sweetest. Cost effective carvery with a smile! absolutly love them! I never got to properly meet my nan but if I did Id hope she'd be like Chris.

The best home cooked Sunday lunch you will get in a carvery setting, it's absolutely amazing! The stuffing and the roast potatoes are something else and the choice of three meats are always juicy and tasty. A little hidden gem xx

Paid for a carvery and was given braising steak in gravy which looked dry, the lady owner was abrupt and said "Fine I'll have it for my dinner" and I thought your welcome to it.

Was there last night for a function. worst place ever been the Turkey still had blood running through it wasn't cooked enough and ran out of alcohol and was buying vans from co-op down the road

I eat regularly at the " star" that sums it up. Two course meal well well cooked and well presented.

It is friendly, welcoming and the management are very obliging, you can even get a really good cup of tea. The Sunday lunches are legendary at £6:99 for 3 courses. Brilliant establishment.

Excellent value, great food and the apple crumble is worth the trip all on it's own.

Can't make up my mind about it. It was like having lunch in a community center vibe rather than the usual pub grub experience. Felt more like a service-user than a customer. Having said that, the main and dessert were good. Starters was powder soup. Would go again if in that area.

Forgot about this place for a while and called in sunday for a carvery best value for money around just 25 pound for 3 courses for 3 adults with drinks if you want 5 star dining go elsewhere and pay 5 star prices these people work hard for they money thumbs up to you see you soon

First visit here and definitely the last.....i dont know where to begin, no notice board or price visible, had to ask how much the carvery was and then told it was a 3 course meal after i paid, so definitely more advertising needed! On our first course which was tomato soup, no alternative option, the bowls were dirty with remnants of old soup along the edges so had to ask for clean bowls. The soup was like water and lacked taste. The second course the cutlery was dirty so again had to ask for clean. There was a wait for veg and while we were waiting to be served, we couldnt help but notice all the cobwebs hanging from the ceiling above where the meat is served. When we were eventually served the veg was blanched and lacked taste, the best thing about the dinner was the gravy, everything was either under cooked or over cooked, the roast potatoes were so hard. The third course I chose warm apple pie and ice cream to be given cold apple pie and ice cream and when asked the waitress why my apple pie is cold I was told the told the microwave was broke, they could have told me this when i asked for warm when i ordered it. I also noticed that the tables were being cleaned with a hand towel so again lack of hygiene. This place is rated a 5 star hygiene, i really think that needs to be reviewed. The place on entering is not very inviting and is so dated and not clean there at all. I went here as i was told a lot of good things about the place but i was so gutted but never ever again and i will spread the word to avoid others feeling as dissapointed as me.

Wasn't there long enough as they were getting ready to close but they were very friendly. It is spacious and seem to have a lot of entertainment in the evenings.

Best Sunday lunch around, value for money.

Popped in on a Saturday due to steak and chips being served as a special and only 3.99 each. I've got to be honest I wasn't expecting much but the steak was cooked beautifully and soft and the chips were homemade with a side salad. Good portion sizes and tasty! They do other specials during the week and I will definitely be visiting again. Owners very friendly!
