McDougall's Fish and Chips in Caerphilly

Super fast delivery and food was beautiful. Delivery guy didnt know how much it was or that i had to pay cash but im honest and told him. Food was good but i ordered gravy and was given curry, still tasty but not what I ordered. Will order again.

everything cold, fish so greasy it stuck to the paper and the batter came off the bottom. the tiny pot of Irish curry sauce was watered down as well. not good.

Soggy and cold fish. Small portions for the price, especially the size of chips. Overall disappointing and unfortunately wont be ordering from here again.

Ordered 2 lots of fish and chips. One arrived with a tail end and 3 fish nuggets and the other was mostly hard batter with very little fish. Chips were soggy. Kids hardly touched their food due to batter on sausages being hard. Lots of wasted food. Won’t be ordering from here again!

Unfortunately food was cold. Didn’t enjoy at all.

Food didn't arrive. Man that answered the phone was no help. Now I'm sat here, unable to cook due to the pain because of my disabilities and I have no more money to order something else. Considering their only job is to provide food for people, this business is clearly incompetent

3rd time ordering here food hot and tasty every time and the delivery driver a gentleman 🙂

Food was late, we rang to get an update and was told that the driver went to a different town by mistake, despite us having provided our full address and postcode. The food arrived cold and was very greasy. unable to get refund. Won’t be returning !!

My delivery was 30 minutes late and when it did arrive the food was cold and soggy. won't be ordering from here again. very disappointing

food is good but it's always at least half hour or more late. I get the impression they only send it out when you ring to complain. even then it sometimes comes luke warm. probably won't use again

Absolutely terrible service ordered food at 7:30pm still sat here 9.36 pm rung the restaurant twice they said they was busy still waiting absolute joke never order again from here asked for a refund said I had to go through just eat should be ashamed of yourself

After way past delivery time, delivery guy called barely able to say he "didn't know/couldn't find" address. We had to go outside looking for him, he was at the beginning of the street... The food was fine.

I ORDERED A DELIVERY AT AROUND 19.10 IT ARRUVED AROUND 20:35. JUST AFTER DRIVER LEFT REALISED NO CHIPS.CALLED DRIVER AND RESTAURANT. WITHIN AN HOUR DRIVER CALLED BACK WITH CHIPS AND A FREE PORTION OF FISH.FAIR PLAY TO THEM I ENJOYED

We had hardly any chios with our order. I ordered a chip butty and there were half a dozen hard chips. we also had a large fish and chips but couldn't find the chips. Very poor service and food. very disappointing.

Despite the missing kids meal (which got sorted), the cheesy chips & sausage and batter was delicious!! Will definitely order again ☺️

The order was over 2 hours late and they marked it as delivered before it was anywhere near me. the portion was very small and nothing was offered or given as compensation.

The food we normally receive is usually top notch but unfortunately this evening the chips were uncooked.

Made an order and was given a delivery estimate of 7:45pm-8:05pm however food wasn’t delivered until 8:48pm most of the food was warm however the chips have arrived turning on the cold side, really disappointed, did also call to check order status

my order was 2 hours late, I rang the restaurant to cancel my order and have a refund but the server said to wait. I requested to speak to a manager and was told he wasn't there and would call me back in 5 minutes. No call has been made. when the order did arrive it was dumped on the doorstep as the driver sped off. I am still waiting for a refund.

Batter on fish was greasy and the chips were so dry. It tasted like the chips had been cooked in old oil and had an off taste. We couldn't finish them as a result very disappointed. Furthermore, the way the food has been cooked has caused my wife to be very unwell over the last few days! This is very disappointing after reading previous reviews 😕

not far from my home, it is too late to got work in the am, thought it would arrive alot sooner as close to my home, also only had 1 drink, paid for 1, was supposed to have another wiith meal deal.

I didn't realise how far away you are, so unfortunately the food was understandably rather cold by the time it got to me. The food was still okay to eat and probably fantastic hot. You might want to remove my area for delivery though as it will probably only ever arrive mildly warm at best

The portions are very small and the container is in adequate for containing the sauce (one meal lost over half its sauce). The taste was good, the delivery time was on time.

Such poor delivery time! Placed the order at 22.05 to be given a slot of 22.45-23.00, 22.50 I get a call saying my order will be arriving in 20-25 minutes but then at 23.10 nothing arrives. Poor service and shocking delivery time!!

ordered 3 kids meals, MASSIVE and delicious. food was hot, fresh and early.

Ridiculously tiny portions of chips for almost £4, they were bland too so not even worth paying for. Kids are still hungry, gravy was nice though.

Absolutely awful, 25 minutes late did not receive the mozzarella sticks or the onion rings, burger had hardly any cheese and was not melted properly, chips were dry and burger had cold patties, onion rings inside the burger were extremely soggy and overall terrible

shame to see the increase in price 50p charge for each item in a burger including sauce. burger meal now doubled from 6.95 to 12.00 will loose customers.

Don't often fancy fish and chips, worry they'll be too much and too greasy but McDougall's were fantastic, nice light batter, freshly cooked to order, so not too greasy, and lovely crispy chips. Really enjoyed.

The Owner is so friendly and welcoming. His home made curry sauce has to be tried!! The food is fantastic. I won't go to any another local chippy and if me and my young son have a treat night we always go there. Fish is to die for too!
