Great pub. Excellent home cooked food. Pianist was a bonus. Exceptional value for the quality.

Lovely meal here last Wednesday. Chefs special main was gorgeous so couldn't resist chefs bread+butter pudding for desert Yum

Beautiful old school pud. Good old style grub. It was a lovely meal after a 3 hour drive and very friendly.

We stayed for 1 night due to attending a wedding at Maes Manor. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble from early check in to even honouring a booking on a night that they don't usually open. Rooms were spotless and very comfortable, breakfast was cooked fresh and delicious.

Do enjoy this place. Pleasant atmosphere and great friendly place. Great host, always made to feel welcome.

Sunday Lunch Staff were very friendly & hardworking who were run ragged as the restaurant was so busy. Unfortunately the standard of food was disappointing and some plates were luke warm. I must add that the whole pub was incredibly clean and beautifully decorated.

Went last night for a birthday meal with family last night this was our 2nd visit stunning food , service was 10 out of 10 , owner was freindly and atmosphere was good lovley place to go definitely recommend.

Top draw food this place is top on food welcome and very clean pub bed and breakfast. Paul and his lovely wife ,are so friendly. One of the best around.

Called in for food only. Meals were lovely, and waiting staff very accommodating. The resident pianist made for a very charming atmosphere.

Had a meal here today.... never been here before. The owner and his wife where very welcoming... and the lady who served us was super friendly... the food omgggg all homemade and was absolutely stunning... Will definitely return. 💯

Absolutely disgusting- no children when they arent cooking food. We just wanted a Coke while i fed my newborn baby, but got turned away. Not exactly running around he's 10 weeks old. Won't be returning as i had to feed baby in car as he needed his food. Only children friendly when it suits them!

Absolutely amazing establishment. The landlord and lady are fantastic. Genuinely lovely people who make you feel so welcome. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is deliciously home cooked feel good food. We had an amazing time and can't wait to return Highly recommend The Rock to everyone

Fab pub, excellent food. Service is great. Not stayed overnight yet, so I can't comment on the rooms. Worth a visit.

Meal not up to standard . My roast lamb tasted as though it was boiled in water . The chicken was shredded cauliflower cheese inedible. Hair in desert . Not offered any refund until I insisted speaking to the manager. Would not recommend this pub

We went here for a roast dinner on Sunday, the starters were nice as well as the drinks however, the main (Chicken and stuffing) was incredibly bland and over cooked. The cauliflower cheese just looked like cauliflower and milk and tasted like water. The chicken was overcooked, and all of the veg except for the swede was tasteless (the swede was surprisingly the best bit about the dinner) the stuffing was still raw in the middle too. Another member of the party had the lamb dinner and that just tasted like it had been boiled with no flavour. We thought we'd have the dessert to finish the meal off with a nice note however, there was hair in two of the three desserts! The hair was also not human hair, it looked to be either dog or cat hair. We've been here before and the previous time, it was okay with no complaints however, after going again, I'd never go again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you fancy some food that tastes of nothing
