An amazing homely pub that despite serving Irish measurements, still so cheap. Has lovely pool table and pool team, a lovely garden area, amazing vibe and atmosphere. My favourite place to grab a pint!

The Star is a brilliant pub with a top-notch atmosphere, great music, and friendly staff. Hands down, the best Guinness I’ve had around. With pool, skittles, and more, there’s always something to do, but the real highlight is the Irish music—if you’re after a proper pint and a good time, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

An incredible Irish pub that has a lush wooden structure which is really immersive with great people, great drinks, and overall a great experience. The pub also features live music all of the time, and it constantly seems to have a great atmosphere with lots of customers almost every night.

The skittles alley is a bit cramped!

I've driven past the Star plenty of times but never had the chance to stop and go inside. Last night that changed and I finally went for a few drinks with some friends. Friendly staff and patrons making it a lovely atmosphere! The decor is great and the pub is super cosy.

First night here,with my partner and two of his mates,one of them is his regular pub,Baz.I loved it,lovely friendly dog there to Max.I live the other side of town .Highly recommend .

Bit sad. Lost it's mojo. Needs a bit of love. The back 'garden' is a tip. The bitter was not available. Still hot day, so a lager sufficed.

Amazing hidden gem of a pub loved the staff and the building I'll be going back 100%! Also very affordable considering the age we are in and it's location. I would love a IPA on keg but still no big deal have some lovely cask IPA :)

Great authentic Irish boozer. There is usually a good selection of beers to choose from although I have had a couple of ales there that have not been as fresh as I'd have liked. The atmosphere is great with a decent mix of different types of people. Usually busy but rarely feels TOO busy. The garden is bangin although I've yet to experience it in the summer. I also haven't seen any live music there yet but I'm told that's really good. The staff are usually really friendly although you do get the odd young'un at the bar whose a bit lacking in people skills. Haven't tried the food there but they have a good selection of bar snacks. Decent pub all round. Will go there more often in the future 👍

Met an old friend there for a pint and catchup. Has been redecorated tastefully and retains the old charm.

Yo the Star fishponds was a Rockin, I've lived and worked in Bris for quite some time and I luv a bit of traditional Irish folk music not easy to find!! what a blast the players were, good lively local and student crowd well mixed, will defO return for some hit trad and diesel ye haaa.

Came to a Latin party here and the pub was lovely. Great food good drinks and the atmosphere with the Latin band was amazing!

Although not particularly enticing from the outside, it's not too bad once you're in. Good atmosphere and a decent size garden and stage. I particularly like the fact that they have a regular Latin American food and music event.

Excellent choice drinks and friendly staff

Dosnt look much from the outside but it's a grate quirk space inside, the pub garden is a gem of a space with live music some nights. Plenty of places to sit and a pool table if you fancy some light sport. Ladys loo is like in most pubs an odd place but they were cleen and perfectly nice to use. I enjoyed the atmosphere I went on a Wensday night and the place was buzzing. Staff and local drinkers were very friendly and a good laugh too.

Old style Irish pub , pool table, skittles , fruit machine , food , microbrewery, massive outside area , lots undercover , some with heating , friendly staff, mixed clientele. Live music , Irish measurements 35cl instead of 25 cl what not to love .
