The pancakes are AMAZING! We love this little gem of a cafe! Staff are pleasant, food is lovely and coffee is nice!

Love this place. Always a friendly welcome. Food is superb. Probably the best Sunday lunch in the area Breakfast menu is excellent and extremely well cooked.

Access and parking good. Sunday family lunch - ordered lamb - delicious, vegetables and accompanying dishes were also very tasty and plentiful. All the members of my family were equally complimentary of the food. Decor and general ambiance was very pleasant. The staff were warm and welcoming. Enjoyed watching the horse and their riders through the large glass windows.Seated promptly and served promptly. Sticky toffee pudding absolutely gorgeous. All the three young servers/assistants were courteous and professional - on the ball and confident. Well done to chef and kitchen staff. Finally toilet area very clean. Second visit and would recommend. Look forward to heading back for brunch one day soon.

We had an amazing Sunday lunch last week. It was the best we’ve had in years. My wife can’t have gluten and dairy and made different gravy and fresh un-buttered veg etc. very good and my daughter got to watch the horses too.

Second time of having breakfast here. Whilst the food was okay (the coffee was v. good) the service was very poor. On our first visit we thought service was slow due to it being half full. This time there were only four tables occupied yet it took 45-50 minutes to be served.

Great for lunch or a coffee. V reasonable prices too Plenty of parking and you can watch the horses being exercised through the endow while you dine. Outside could do with a bit of tidying up but that’s my only negative

A great place to have lunch. It was lovely to watch the hoses in the arena. Food was tasty and staff friendly. Not too busy. Clean and comfy chairs if you just wanted a coffee and a relaxing sit down.

Found this place using The Extra Mile website. It is not usual to find a lovely coffee stop next to riding stables but nonetheless the service was good and the drinks well presented. As we had dogs with us, we had to sit outside, but the bistro inside looked busy considering we were there around noon. I would like to visit again and try the food.

We paid our first visit to The Stables today and were delighted with what we saw. Our friendly waitress Jess delivered first class service with a smile and that service was prompt and efficient. We just called in for morning coffee / tea and toasted tea cake/ cheese scone but looked at the other menus available and will definitely be returning soon. Well done The Stables and well worth a visit😃

We booked for my Mum’s 90th birthday meal I rang and booked for 10 including 2 children having established they didn’t need high chairs I then rang to add one extra on the Friday before and was told the booking was only for 8 and it might be a bit of a squeeze so not the best start! On arrival we weren’t offered drinks and were told they were waiting for people to finish before we could get enough chairs. We were eventually seated and after a long wait drinks orders were taken and after another long wait served and then food orders were taken our two little ones wanted Yorkshire puddings as a starter and the one served to my grandson was basically cremated it was changed when asked but surely shouldn’t have left the kitchen like that! Then we were told after the other starters were served that the chef had burnt the soup but they could offer French onion as an alternative but only one came out when two were ordered eventually everyone was served and starters were very tasty. Then one chicken main course and one beef were served before we were told they weren’t ours and were whipped away again even though my mum (90) had already put her fork on the plate sorry whoever it was meant for! We were told ours were next out and after about another half an hour indeed they were! The food was tasty we all enjoyed it but the service was absolutely dreadful such a shame I think they can’t cope with large parties! Wasn’t quite the 90th birthday celebration I’d hoped for for my Mum!

A lovely cafe on a working stable yard, overlooking the riding school arena. Not too far off the main road. Recommend the kippers with poached egg. Waiting staff need a bit of re-education about not handling the knife blade but ok other than that

A nice simple restaurant/coffee shop, light bites ice cream and beautiful horses. (The Horses are not for eating). 🤔

Booked breakfast for 3 of us on a sunny Saturday morning. Sat inside although outside picnic tables were availalble. Service was good and food delicious. Full breakfast, eggs royale, pancakes with maple syrup. Barn tastefulyl decorated with an opportunity to watch indoor riding lessons taking place . Well fed ready for 2 hr journey home. Well worth the money. If in the area again will definately be back.

Discovered The Stables three weeks ago, and I've been there four times already for breakfast. Superb menu, with some quality options. The scrambled eggs with chorizo for breakfast is my favourite. Pleasant decor, and friendly staff.

We hired the bistro for our daughters 40th birthday party. The venue, catering and staff were amazing, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you so much for everything.😊

Visited on Friday and enjoyed a great meal. Burger was excellent, but they've got a nice varied menu with a bit of something for everyone. The parmesan and gruyere soufflé was as delicious as it was eye catching! Lovely rural setting. It's a gem. Looking forward to trying their Sunday Lunch next.

Love this place, food always at the very top of the game.

Lovely place to meet friends, chat and have early brunch or breakfast. Food beautifully presented on red hot plates cooked to perfection with the added bonus of watching the horses and enjoying the fur babies in a dedicated play field. Pooches welcome. Would recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely breakfast. A little pricier (but only by a bit) but quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. Stornoway black pudding, egg was runny yet no jelly on top so perfect. Love the idea of watching the lessons while you have a coffee. Will definitely be back

Beautiful setting, lovely food, great service. Catered well for my daughter who has coeliac disease. Would recommend!! Make sure you book first as it’s not massive.

Highly recommended by others the food was excellent however the buildings were poor and very cold . The surrounding area was not very welcoming and the toilets were huge and freezing cold and badly finished. It’s not just the food unfortunately that makes a good review and for that reason won’t be returning

Only just heard about this place and was delighted to here of their offerings. Couldn’t believe it had been open for 2 years ! I assumed it was relatively new. Had a Sunday lunch, which was pretty decent. Gravy was very nice and you could tell the chef cares about his food. Everything professional layed out etc My only criticisms and I mean this in a constructive manner. The place is cold. Half of the diners had their coats on and I seen 3 different tables complaint how cold it was and the draft from toilet door. Waitresses need to learn to be a-bit more friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend despite my 2 gripes. Would I go back? Yes definitely, but maybe for a special night that they do. I have the utmost respect for any business owner to start a business, and I hope this place goes strength to strength. But most importantly, get that heat sorted!

Been here twice now and hasn’t disappointed us yet! Staff friendly and surroundings are quite unique as you can see into the horses training ground track through the internal cafe windows, which I think is quite unique anyway? 😂

Booked a table for 6 for a Breakfast to celebrate my Mams 91st Birthday. The whole experience was absolutely the best. Excellent setting. Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent ambience.

Very warm and friendly staff, plenty of space inside,great for light snacks or lunches and very reasonably priced food. Pleasantly surprised with this bistro and Chef Mattie was very attentive with customers.

Set as it suggests in an equine environment, when in the bistro one can watch the horses being ridden through a large picture window. The prawn linguine is excellent and nice sandwiches. The service is fairly slow as it’s all freshly prepared- not a problem as it’s a nice setting to relax in.

Was originally on my way elsewhere when saw the sign so popped in to try. 4* as didn't stay long or have much to eat (that will be next time) I had coffee (OK) and cheese scone - very tasty, served warm with butter on the side and - bonus!- a decent slice of good quality cheddar 😋 Additional bonus was the viewing windows into the horse training arena (I'm assuming the roots of the cafe are due to people waiting around during lessons?).

Visited for lunch having had word of mouth recommendations twice in 2 days . The prawn linguine and mushroom risotto were exceptional and didn’t break the bank. Going again this Sunday for a roast .

First time visitor, good lunchtime menu, lovely food and service, will be returning soon.

Our second visit here was for lunch. We had been impressed on our first visit of the overall quality of the place considering its unassuming location. The staff are smartly dressed and the service is attentive. We ordered teas, a hot beef ciabatta and a chicken club sandwich. Unfortunately, my wife started to feel unwell whilst waiting for the food. We were offered to take it away with us and it was nicely boxed and bagged. Still warm when we arrived home we found the food to be excellent, especially the hot beef and gravy ciabatta, probably the best beef sandwich I have ever had. Will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic Sunday dinner today , the meat was beautifully cooked and the vegetables were delicious. Service was excellent. I would certainly recommend this venue and will come again .

Had lunch here today with my sister. Absolutely delicious. I had the best double baked soufflé I’ve ever eaten and my sister’s chorizo and crayfish risotto was also unctuous. Too full for dessert, although I note they no longer use forgetmenotpatisserie for their cakes. The Illy coffee was also very good. Service was a bit slow as they only had one waitress who worked really well to deal with a busy lunchtime. Will definitely go again.
