Absolutely terrible, don't waste your time and money, very overpriced for the quality. I purchased a breakfast tea and a lemon drizzle slice the tea was incredibly unflavoured and the lemon drizzle slice was dry and partially stale. Wouldn't recommend service was slow too.

We are lucky enough to have been given some NT vouchers as a present. We love exploring NT properties and trying out the cafes. Speke Hall cafe knocks spots off other North West NT eateries. Great choice of hot and cold food. We had a lovely bowl of Scouse. We'll worth the trip from Manchester. Friendly staff and great value for money. Thanks

We called today for a walk and a coffee. As usual the staff are so friendly and helpful, considering the changes due to Covid, we still felt comfortable and safe. Thanks Jo and Carol, it's always a pleasure to be served by you. X

Ordered food as a party of 6. When it came to my order there was a choice of only 3 mains, Ice cream, cakes and chocolate bars. Due to certain dietary restrictions I enquired with a member of staff at the counter if I could combine a few items to make a meal that I could eat as most of the food I couldn’t eat. They had sausages and mash and I asked if I could have just the sausages. The lady behind the counter was rude and told me no as she would “loose out on a whole meal sale” so I said its medical. To which she replied loudly in front of the whole line up behind me.... “why are you gluten free?” I was really embarrassed and replied it’s personal. So she said I can’t sell you what you want. I explained that there was such a narrow selection of food and I couldnt eat anything and would go hungry. She replied “yes you will!” And moved on to serve the family behind me!!! I was embarrassed and appalled at such a lack of awareness, respect and general rudeness. So I paid for the rest of our party to eat and sat there without any food. This should not be allowed to happen to anyone else! Angry is NOT the word!

It was a glorious sunny day when we visited Speke Hall - my birthday. We had lunch which was nice but we had a while to wait as it was crowded it being the school holidays. There was a good selection of meals which were of an average price for this establishment. After looking around the Hall we went back for a pot of tea and a cake.

Convenient it might be, but not all that good, Several of the advertised items were no longer available, and what was being served was not particularly appealing. Maybe in the light of other reviews we were unlucky, but it was expensive for what we had.

The restaurant was closing early for 'till maintenance' on the day we visited. We arrived about an hour and a half before the early closing to be offered a very limited choice of food. No baked potatoes, no sandwiches. Two of us chose scouse, one venison lasagne and one a ham salad. The scouse was inedible owing to the fact that someone seemed to have emptied the pepper grinder into it. The salad had some lovely ham slices but the salad consisted of coleslaw and some lettuce! The venison lasagne was passable. This is not the first time we have visited and we were unimpressed the previous occasion but assumed we had hit it on a bad day. I think they must have many bad days.

After visiting the house and grounds at Speke Hall, the tea rooms are lovely just to sit quietly and enjoy the view. The weather was perfect, cold but sunny so we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. The food was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful too.

Shame tge house was closed but will come back for another visit when the weather is warmer. Might i suggest that you sell some of your fresh veg etc as i would purchase veg bread etc. Some homes do sell their produce Castle Howard for one which i visit regularly as its only down the road from me love tgeir bread cheese etc

Visited with 3 kids who all ordered baked potatoes which were overpriced as they were bunged in the microwave with cheap red cheese on top. Staff were rude, I asked for a flat white and the girl smirked and said cappuccino was the same like I am an idiot! Speke hall itself is lovely but I will be taking my own picnic next time

This cafe occupies a quaint half-timbered outbuilding on the edge of the garden at Speke Hall. For simple food and a drink it's an alternative to the rather busy and noisy Home Farm restaurant. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy my time here very much. Firstly it was manned by one solitary waiter on a bank holiday Saturday. I had to wait while he fastidiously prepared six cappucinos. Ther tables are all rather cramped and I had to clear debris from mine before settling down to my tea and a Bakewell slice on an uncomfortably saggy chair. National Trust cafes seem to set great store by their cakes and even have recipe cards on the tables. On the evidence of this Bakewell slice they could do better.

I'm sorry to say this looked pretty chaotic on our visit and I think I'm being kind giving three stars but the potential is there so I don't want to be too harsh. Basically I think they were short staffed had no one realised that the children were off for Easter and that as a result they would be busy. The food looked good and certainly what we had affirmed this. Unfortunately the queue was quite long and not moving fast and if you picked up a hot soup or stew the chances are that by the time you came to pay for it, it would no longer be hot. Dirty dishes everywhere although customers were doing their best to clear up after themselves. Some of the staff seemed to be in panic and although we gave our order to one lady it never materialised and we had to then repeat it with another lady. As I said previously the potential is there if only they had the staff to deliver the service

This cafe is in an old stable block next to Speke Hall itself. It is only small and so doesn't have the selection of items you may want but has enough choice to please most I would say. However the main cafe is only a short walk away if not. There is a small outdoor seating area at the back too. The staff at Speke Hall, some are volunteers, are always helpful and very friendly. Well worth stopping off to put your feet up with a brew!

No complaints about the prices and food and drinks ...... only it is a tad on the small size and fills up very quickly so my tip is if its full to the brim then to head back to the large restaurant at the entrance block ...... lots of tables and a much wider choice of eats and drinks.

I have often criticised National Trust restaurants but this one is much better than most. We only had a morning coffee but it was excellent and, if we had wanted it, there was a great choice of hot and cold meals, cakes etc.. We've been back to Speke hall a few times recently since early May and on only one of those times had the pleasure of being able to use the stable tea room. It only opens at weekends which is such a shame. This tea room was converted from what must have been old stables and the conversion is sympathetic and cosy. It is a pity that the larger cafe isn't similarly decorated.
