Went because it is dog friendly I had the mixed grill sausage, chicken, gammon, chips, mushrooms, onion rings were all lovely but I would not like to take on the steak luckily the dog enjoyed it

We called in for a bite to eat and a drink. I fancied the hot dog after seeing a photo of it on facebook. WOW. It wasn't just a hot dog... it was a proper smoky bratwurst sausage that Germany would have been proud of! ... with crispy onions and a drizzle of mustard & ketchup, it was absolutely delicious. Soooo tasty. Hubby had the spicy burger which was 2 burgers, cheese, pulled pork. You get a choice of fries or fat chips with both meals. I had french fries they were lovely and crispy. Overall a totally enjoyable meal for a treat on a Saturday night and we'll definately be back. Thank you!

Great local! Found a new favourite in the hand stretched pizzas nicely washed down with the beat Stella this side of Darlo. The team are great always welcoming and very accommodating. Manager Michelle is supported by a great team!

Moving here in the middle of COVID!! I found it very hard to feel apart of anything. This pub is so friendly and welcoming I absolutely love it. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a friendly atmosphere amongst friendly people.

I visited the Springfield when the current manager took over ! Her attitude was absolutely disgusting! There was 3 adults and 6 children all eating !

Came in for some food to find only two people in the bar one of which were talking to the bar lady who wasn't bothered about anything but the conversation she was having with the other person. I got served sat down and all we heard was the bar women voice was so loud both fing and blinding. Wasn't nice to hear at all there were things to do and to be done but instead nothing just deep in conversation rather rude if I'm honest. Stood against the bar leaning all over not actually bothered about work just her friend at the bar and her mobile phone. Food was nice but shocking service i do not come to a pub to recieve that service.

Val and Russ are fabulous hosts. They have certainly made big changes to the pub, bringing some fantastic free entertainment for everyone.

Got order wrong on a table of 6. How can the order be made incorrect when the place wasn't even remotely busy I will never know. Waited what felt like an age for our mains. Apparently the mega kids meal looks exactly like a normal kids meal. Waitress went over the top to make sure all was OK. Visit saved by the quality of the food and beer. Portions filling.

Heard new managers took over last December and what a change since then! Food has improved massively, especially since they have started using roast joints on the Sunday Lunches (a bargain at under £6) Nice to have a local pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere :-) LOVE the FREE live bands once a month that they have started putting on, saves paying for a taxi into town and crazy entrance prices! Can't wait to see what next year brings :-)

Llegué con mi mejor amigo y nuestros tres hijos (uno que es necesidades especiales). Al llegar al bar a lugar nuestra orden me aconsejaron "mantener a los niños, se sentó como camareras se caminar por ahí". No vi una sola camarera! Sábado y esperamos por nuestra comida, que aunque rápido era horrible. Verduras en el almuerzo de domingo era todo en lata. Y yorkshires, relleno dinámicos carne era claramente uno de los asados y cubierto en comprar grasa. Roasties frito y sabor de aceite. Sosa salsa.

Cambié mi local en Navidad y comenzó a usar este pub justo después de la nueva gestión habían movido. Me hicieron sentir como en casa y lo de las cervezas caten que estaban disponibles. Encontramos una gran cerveza y hay espectáculos en vivo regularmente. Mi esposa y yo ambos comido aquí y, de nuevo, el servicio y la atención al detalle era excelente.

Mientras una tarde encantadora celebrando nuestro cumpleaños, el 10 de sobrinos estamos groseramente interrumpido por el director diciendo que nuestra hija debe ir a casa si que cansados! ! Mi hija es de 7 había estado en mi anterior grupo sobrinos bowling tenía entonces jugaban en el área de juego y era tener un descanso junto a nosotros en ella pad. Luego el gerente empezó a mover cosas alrededor de nosotros abrigos etc. diciendo que estábamos usando el lugar como una habitación en la parte delantera. No puedo expresar lo grosero y poco profesional de esta persona! ! Teníamos todas las comidas y bebidas compramos y nos trataron como este. Nunca conocí a alguien tan grosero, dijo que "nos quedamos ahora adecuado para el transporte" todo lo que estaban haciendo es sábado charlando como una familia. Todos estábamos en shock total para conseguir tratados como este en lo que se suponía que era una celebración! ? Peor pub en el que he estado en nada, nunca conocido como! ! ! ! ! !

Después de bowling, decidimos visitar el Springfield, hoy para terminar celebrando el cumpleaños 10 de mi sobrinos. Ha sido tomada por la nueva administración y había oído buenas críticas. Como una "familia" de pub, con zona exterior de juegos que pensamos que serían bienvenidos. El grupo estaba formado por 11 adultos y 6 niños. Las edades variaban de 2 a 74. Todos los adultos lo comidas y todo el mundo tenía bebidas. Aproximadamente a las 3 de la tarde el "casera" venía y porque uno de los niños estaba previsto viendo una de dibujos animados por teléfono, nos dijeron "si ese niño es probado, nos debería llevar su casa". El lugar era tranquilo, con muchas mesas y sillas gratis. El resto de los niños donde jugar fuera con adultos supervisión.

Este es uno de nuestros pubs locales, afortunadamente ha sido tomada como la dirección anterior era pobre. La nueva gente parece atento y siempre están sirviendo o limpiar las mesas, así que es una mejora. El pub necesita un poco de un lavado de su un poco sucia con algunos asientos, etc, espero roto este será abordado. Como muchos pubs el menú es tan amplio que no puede posiblemente fresco. Bueno y bonito cervezas sirve prosecco refrigerados, pero no esperes un vaso de la flauta, no tienen.

Posiblemente el peor servicio. Familia de 7 comidas ordenados y bebidas. Un poco después de pedir el par preocupantemente detrás de pedido un reembolso. Ojalá hubiera pensado dos veces en este punto.

Hay lugares peores para una pinta y un lugar de comida si estás en la zona. Nada especial, pero lo suficientemente decente.

been here a few times and it's normally alright for the price but the last time was honestly terrible. they didn't have half the food available, or the majority of the vegetarian food. but I ordered something anyway, only to have the waitress come back half hour after, saying what I ordered wasn't available either. (hadn't started cooking for half an hour?!? weird) ordered a lemonade and got given water. when the food eventually got here the burger was burnt and I'd ended up paying £3.25 for 3 golf ball sized pieces of falafel. dead shanny imo

I went with my partner and family for lunch this weekend. The food was very tasty however the presentation of the food didn't make it seem all that appealing - however once you got past that it was very nice! Great menu with plenty of choice!

I visited here yesterday with family. The Springfield is situated in quite a busy road meaning if you're sat in the outdoor seating area then there is quite a bit of traffic noise. There is good on-site parking. The outdoor area has separate smoking facilities and a small children's slide. On entering the pub it is quite dark - atmospheric you might call it. It has a large interior and the staff member working behind the bar we pleasant. We visited around 1pm and expected it to be quite busy with being around the Sunday lunchtime. It was the exact opposite. There was hardly any patrons Normally this would be a bad sign but we thought we'd stick to it as we made a decision to come here. On arrival of the food I have to admit I wasn't impressed, presentation wasn't best. My brother and his partner had main courses which were accompanied by coleslaw and it was the sloppiest, wettest coleslaw I have ever seen. I ordered Hunters Chicken which when it arrived, appeared to hardly have any BBQ sauce. Nevertheless we decided to tuck and I'm glad we did - the Hunters Chicken was delicious and both my brother and his partner said that the coleslaw was really tasty. If I had being off first impressions then the rating would've been lower but I can't fault the taste of the food and I've learned not to go off food by the presentation, as I was pleasantly surprised.

Went for the curry night. Food was of a very good standard, service excellent and a very well kept cask ale. Brilliant value too.

Called in here yesterday for lunch never again!Ordered beef dinner and steak pie.Meal took 5 minutes to come out from ordering,which should have told me something.Everything on the plate was frozen,nothing was fresh.Frozen carrots still hard.Brussel sprouts soggy,Yorkshire pudding had been put in the microwave too long.Pie was barely edible and chips were soggy.Was not impressed.If I'd wanted a frozen meal I would have popped to Asda instead of paying over the odds for this one.

This is a very pleasant place to eat and drink. Nothing pretentious, just honest well prepared and served meals at a reasonable price. I liked it as it was clean, friendly and served good meals. I have eaten here twice and can recommend it.

Went into the restaurant after a long journey at 7pm. They had hardly any food left. My children's nuggets were burnt as were the waffles and my daughter got soggy leftover sliced cucumber instead of munch crunch veg. Adults got Quesadillas which had about 2 tiny chunks of chicken in the whole meal. All of it swam in some sort of spicy milk that had ran from the coleslaw and the sour cream and jalapeños were either off or had sat out for too long. Needless to say we didn't stay for dessert. Highly priced for such a poor meal.

Me and the missus have visited the pub a good few times now and have always been met with a smile! The staff are very friendly and the service is second to none. The food has always been great and very affordable, I can definitely recommend the Hub Cap Burger (a real man doesn't share!).There is plenty of drink options to chose from and there is always a good promotion on something.Overall great pub and great people! We will definitely be going back in the future!

Regularly visit the Springfield for both food and a few drinks. The food is very affordable and always very good and the drinks are a great price too. Always a good pint. Friendly staff, always have time for you no matter how busy they are. This is somewhere I would recommend for not just a couple of beers, meal for two but also family's.Look forward to my next visit!
