The Spread Eagle in Wolverhampton

First time we have been there but will definitely be returning, we had the loaded fries and 1 dish each was plenty

I ordered a pizza, it was a new recipe , the katsu curry with butter milk chicken and spring onions on top. Cooked to perfection, I don’t normally eat pizzas but this was unbelievably good. 10/10

Waited over half an hour for food ! That was after waiting 20 minutes to be served at the bar! Mixed grill over cooked fries dry and uneatabke! My wife had 6 haloumi fries and 3 pieces of garlic bread then had to request sauce that was supposed to accompany it!

The place looked fantastic, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. My wife and myself really enjoyed our visit.

All staff are fantastic always happy and smiling nothing is never to much trouble for them the food is great 😊

I recently attended a New Year's party here that unfortunately did not meet expectations. There was a significant lack of food, leaving many guests hungry and disappointed, with table of 2 being given the same amount of food as my table of 7. To make matters worse, the staff were rude and dismissive when approached about this issue, and with my guests being rushed/bombarded by multiple members of staff as they opened the front door to enter (as they should have locked this door but hadn't). It really put a damper on the celebration, and I left feeling frustrated rather than festive after spending £70 for this event. I hope they can improve for future events, in the future.

Food was very limited no mixed grill available or chicken tikka massala though substitute food we had was reasonable. Staff were warm and welcoming.

Table was ready for us as we booked online in the morning which was really easy to do. Food was well cooked and served piping hot. Good service from all the staff who were working and service with a smile.

We always get excellent service when in there we was in there the night before and if we go out anywhere we always go here for food first

We had xmas dinner 10 family members it was excellent. Tables laid out lovely with selection boxes and chocolates which of cause children loved. Compliments to chef food was first class . I had lamb shank meat just fell off bone superb. Staff excellent working hard . We have meals regularly there am going again new years eve can't wait and will definitely be back next christmas day . Well done to you all made xmas for us couldn't eat rest of days full up

Could not believe the spoonful of mushy peas with the fish and handful of chips..not cheap either

Another lovely lunch today at the Spread Eagle. The Beavertown IPA was delicious and the cowboy burger meal was cooked to perfection. Such a lovely atmosphere. Thank you to Emma for all your help in booking our Christmas lunch too. I would definitely recommend this pub and will visit again. Another success for a festive meal. 10/10 wonderful service as usual.

Fantastic service there was 5 of us on a Christmas get together. Table beautiful. Nothing too much trouble at all. One of my friend had dietary requirements was all perfect so that’s great. As some places there has always been issue. And the food was beautiful all of us enjoyed our meal. Thank you x

Took our daughter out for her 18th birthday. There was 9 of us all had starters, mains and puddings. Food was great. Fish and chips and fish was huge , proper fish , not frozen rubbish. Home made pizzas are really tasty too. Staff are lovely and friendly. Service 100 percent.

Beer prices gone up again, used to be a couple of pence increase, now it 20p extra a pint so pint and half 30p more won't be long, another one bites the dust

Everything was spot on. Food was excellent, service was in good time and we weren't rushed or pestered by people asking if it was ok (yes I know why they do that) Just service with a smile .

Went as a party of 4 and all great meals - the best fish and chips around and a bonus as 30% off all main meals. Drank a few of their cocktails they were all made and presented great - in proper cocktail glasses. Luke was especially helpful and friendly - I was having some cocktails made by Luke and my food arrived so he kindly offered to bring them over to the table to save me waiting and my food going cold - thanks Luke. People comment on how the pub is a little tired but the quality of food and staff make up for this. I have been to this pub many times and the food is always spot on and at a very reasonable price.

Had a lovely meal here Wednesday.. couldn't fault the food..my husband had fish and chips and I had the chicken and mushroom pie.. fantastic.. have been here a few times now and we love it .foods good.. good value for money.. friendly atmosphere and the staff are lovely.

Basically i come to the pub I've ordered couple pints then when I've asked to charge my phone even though i just brought the charger fro 2 miles away they did not want to plug my charger in and now im 8 pints down so i have paid my way

Came for a birthday meal with friends Placed our order all fine 15 minutes Into waiting a young assistant came over to say there was an item they had ran out of ! Not good after I had paid extra it went through no problem Maybe it's time for a system update.

What a fantastic pub this is. Such a great atmosphere for all the family. Great outside space and the food was the best I’ve had in a long time. My partner had the carvery and the turkey wasn’t dry at all. There was a great choice of veg and the gravy was perfect. I had the surf and turf with a blu steak and it was a lovely steak cooked to perfection. Will definitely be returning and recommending to family and friends 😊 thank you to all the workers at the spread especially the kitchen workers for making my first experience of this place a brilliant one 👍

Went in for meal with friends, food good, it was busy, but staff coped well. And pleasant Went in on another occasion for a quick bite, and had friendly service and chat with staff, food good again.

The weather may have been miserable, but the welcome was far from it. I spent a couple of hours here this lunchtime, and was made to feel incredibly welcome. A huge shout out to Nicola, Ellie, and Megan who attended to everything that I needed. I’ll definitely be back.

Food and staff are great but if you're a couple without kids, you will be surrounded by screaming children.

Food is typical cheap and cheerful food but great service and clean venue

Not dog friendly despite it clearly stating otherwise on their website!!! In fact there is a whole section that goes into detail about how welcome your dog is at this pub. (see the pictures I've posted with this review) Upon entering the pub we were greeted very bluntly and almost rudely by a large man behind the bar with a long beard whom said "you can't come in here with that dog" I responded by saying that the website stated quite clearly the contrary. His response to this was simply "well it shouldn't say that" The website even states that it shouldn't be difficult to find dog friendly pubs, this experience proves the opposite! I understand that sometimes the dog policy is down to the disgression of the landlord but I find it a disgrace to be greeting in such an unpleasant manner when the name of the pub (in this case "the spread eagle" in Wednesfield) is listed clearly in black and white on their website along with a large section about how dog friendly it's supposed to be!!! Suffice it to say, we shall never be visiting again! Thankfully there was a much friendlier pub not far away with a much nicer atmosphere, staff and crutially dog friendly. Myself and my family don't live far from the Wednesfield area, regularly go out on Thursday evenings for a meal and had been looking for a place to go that welcomes dogs. I think the second pub we visited will be where we go from now on and dog or no dog, we will definitely NOT be returning to "the spread eagle"

We were greeted at the door with a smile and a welcome .. She had a little chat and made us feel welcome … Food and service was great

Ordered 2 x hunters chicken meals plus a bowl of hot chicken wings to share, informed there would be a 30 minute wait, reluctantly agreed, it was actually 40 minutes, the shared starter was good but the hunters chicken was dry with a small amount of brown sauce on top with hardly any discernable bbq flavour at all, the melted cheese had zero flavour and a very processed plastic look to it, the salad was very small and wilted as though it had been left under a heat lamp for a period of time. An overall unpleasant experience. We will NOT be returning.

Firstly there was about 10 people in the pub and I had to wait over a hour for food, this is usually my local I always come here but after tonight I will never return again They sent the food out cold, there was a hair in my food instead of rectifying the mistake I could hear all the staff arguing by pizza oven over who’s hair it was, still nobody apologised to me, My sister ordered a well done steak which was dripping of blood which then took them 20 minutes to change. Absolute joke staff did not care at all, I will never return here again

Not good tbh burnt pizza and my steak was supposed to be medium but was more like rare so took it back for a refund. My son asked for a bbq base on his pizza but it came out with a tomato base so had to wait for another one. Noone comes round now to see if the food is ok

Myself and my friend cleaned our own cutlery as it had dried food on still after being cleaned. Food was nice, service was fine. Just a shame about the cutlery.
