The Spread Eagle in Wolverhampton

It’s a lovely pub,food is normally ok but the last few times I’ve been the rump steak has been very tough even though I have it medium rare I do hope this will improve very soon service was excellent and staff friendly

Generous portions good service last minute decision and got a table pretty quick food took maybe longer than expected but again busy but still came out good and cooked perfectly and tidy plate not rushed

We ate the Sunday roast from here and were very pleased with the food and the portion size. I went with the upgrade to 'large' and that was excellent value. The food was served quickly with 'home made' Yorkshire Puddings.

Enjoyed the meal and service was excellent

Its took me a while to review sorry the spread eagle we held my moms funeral here the buffet food was second to none there was more than enough the service was fab as well as the pleasant staff too could do enough for us. Family and friends were impressed too.

Always a fantastic experience! We are local customers and we love the warmth atmosphere and friendly staff every time we come. We arrive with our 2 year old and every time they cater for him and his messiness and laugh about it. You are served with a smile very quickly and food is faster than they suggest. Food comes out well presented, hot and again with a smile. We always say to each other, shall we go to the spread as it’s a place to relax and wind down. Thanks so much and big bonus they always have offers.

Just walked out of here on being told that you are not Dog friendly by a member of staff behind the bar, another member of staff said dogs aren’t allowed in a food area, but are allowed in the wooden floor area ???! Or really welcome outside !!! I checked with google last night and it stated that you are Dog friendly. Staff need to be more knowledgeable or at least agree whether our canine friends are allowed or not. Thank you for the vouchers but we won’t be using them. More than likely not visit the venue again.

Walked in just for a lite bite with my mom. Just ordered jacket potatoes with beef chilli and soft drinks. Food arrived. Jacket potatoes filled with beef chilli and a side salad. Considering just a simple lite bite it was well presented. The salad was fresh , mixed leaves ( my fav) with soya beans and quinoa. The beef chilli was so tasty 10/10 Staff very friendly.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we was cared for. the spread put on for my father in law wake was fantastic so fresh and tasty every staff member was so friendly and helpful i will highly recommend to anyone thank you all at the spread eagle

The manager and staff wear very friendly made us feel very welcome the manager went out her way to help us and the food was nice

The food was tasty enough, though it took a long time to arrive. There was a lady vaping heavily at the bar without being told to stop, even after making the bar staff aware. That's really not okay.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de reservar a una hora razonable en un domingo y el menú parecía tener una muy buena gama, así que estábamos deseando nuestras comidas. Tuvimos una espera bastante grande, ya que pedimos después de dos mesas grandes, pero nos advirtieron completamente de esto .. simplemente mal momento! Selección razonable de bebidas a un precio razonable. Cuando llegó la comida, todos disfrutamos de nuestras comidas. Este es un ejemplo de un pub que parece hacer una buena gama de comidas bien. La cena asada de verduras con tarta de espinacas fue muy sabrosa . . . especialmente me encantó la adición de col roja, así como la tarta en sí, pero todo bien. Se dijo que la hamburguesa estaba buena, y la pizza picante cocinada en el horno de pizza cayó muy bien. Apretamos en pudines de manzana crumble, tarta de chocolate de menta, y helado (estaban contentos de ser flexibles con el menú para acomodar) todo cayó bien. El personal era educado y agradable y basado en la experiencia de hoy en día volvería felizmente.

I ordered a pizza, it was a new recipe , the katsu curry with butter milk chicken and spring onions on top. Cooked to perfection, I don’t normally eat pizzas but this was unbelievably good. 10/10

Waited over half an hour for food ! That was after waiting 20 minutes to be served at the bar! Mixed grill over cooked fries dry and uneatabke! My wife had 6 haloumi fries and 3 pieces of garlic bread then had to request sauce that was supposed to accompany it!

The place looked fantastic, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. My wife and myself really enjoyed our visit.

Food was very limited no mixed grill available or chicken tikka massala though substitute food we had was reasonable. Staff were warm and welcoming.

I recently attended a New Year's party here that unfortunately did not meet expectations. There was a significant lack of food, leaving many guests hungry and disappointed, with table of 2 being given the same amount of food as my table of 7. To make matters worse, the staff were rude and dismissive when approached about this issue, and with my guests being rushed/bombarded by multiple members of staff as they opened the front door to enter (as they should have locked this door but hadn't). It really put a damper on the celebration, and I left feeling frustrated rather than festive after spending £70 for this event. I hope they can improve for future events, in the future.

Table was ready for us as we booked online in the morning which was really easy to do. Food was well cooked and served piping hot. Good service from all the staff who were working and service with a smile.

We always get excellent service when in there we was in there the night before and if we go out anywhere we always go here for food first

Tenemos comidas regularmente allí voy de nuevo Año Nuevo No puedo esperar y sin duda volveremos el próximo día de Navidad. Another lovely lunch today at the Spread Eagle. The Beavertown IPA was delicious and the cowboy burger meal was cooked to perfection. Such a lovely atmosphere. Thank you to Emma for all your help in booking our Christmas lunch too. I would definitely recommend this pub and will visit again. Another success for a festive meal. 10/10 wonderful service as usual.

Fantastic service there was 5 of us on a Christmas get together. Table beautiful. Nothing too much trouble at all. One of my friend had dietary requirements was all perfect so that’s great. As some places there has always been issue. And the food was beautiful all of us enjoyed our meal. Thank you x

Anteriormente habíamos salido de un pub cerca disgustados en el servicio. Donde nos habíamos sentado en una mesa durante 20 minutos sin que nadie viniera a nosotros. Took our daughter out for her 18th birthday. There was 9 of us all had starters, mains and puddings. Food was great. Fish and chips and fish was huge , proper fish , not frozen rubbish. Home made pizzas are really tasty too. Staff are lovely and friendly. Service 100 percent.

Beer prices gone up again, used to be a couple of pence increase, now it 20p extra a pint so pint and half 30p more won't be long, another one bites the dust

Had a lovely meal here Wednesday.. couldn't fault the food..my husband had fish and chips and I had the chicken and mushroom pie.. fantastic.. have been here a few times now and we love it .foods good.. good value for money.. friendly atmosphere and the staff are lovely.

Went as a party of 4 and all great meals - the best fish and chips around and a bonus as 30% off all main meals. Drank a few of their cocktails they were all made and presented great - in proper cocktail glasses. Luke was especially helpful and friendly - I was having some cocktails made by Luke and my food arrived so he kindly offered to bring them over to the table to save me waiting and my food going cold - thanks Luke. People comment on how the pub is a little tired but the quality of food and staff make up for this. I have been to this pub many times and the food is always spot on and at a very reasonable price.

Basically i come to the pub I've ordered couple pints then when I've asked to charge my phone even though i just brought the charger fro 2 miles away they did not want to plug my charger in and now im 8 pints down so i have paid my way

Came for a birthday meal with friends Placed our order all fine 15 minutes Into waiting a young assistant came over to say there was an item they had ran out of ! Not good after I had paid extra it went through no problem Maybe it's time for a system update.

What a fantastic pub this is. Such a great atmosphere for all the family. Great outside space and the food was the best I’ve had in a long time. My partner had the carvery and the turkey wasn’t dry at all. There was a great choice of veg and the gravy was perfect. I had the surf and turf with a blu steak and it was a lovely steak cooked to perfection. Will definitely be returning and recommending to family and friends 😊 thank you to all the workers at the spread especially the kitchen workers for making my first experience of this place a brilliant one 👍

Went in for meal with friends, food good, it was busy, but staff coped well. And pleasant Went in on another occasion for a quick bite, and had friendly service and chat with staff, food good again.

The weather may have been miserable, but the welcome was far from it. I spent a couple of hours here this lunchtime, and was made to feel incredibly welcome. A huge shout out to Nicola, Ellie, and Megan who attended to everything that I needed. I’ll definitely be back.

Food and staff are great but if you're a couple without kids, you will be surrounded by screaming children.

Great place for food and service

Not dog friendly despite it clearly stating otherwise on their website!!! In fact there is a whole section that goes into detail about how welcome your dog is at this pub. (see the pictures I've posted with this review) Upon entering the pub we were greeted very bluntly and almost rudely by a large man behind the bar with a long beard whom said "you can't come in here with that dog" I responded by saying that the website stated quite clearly the contrary. His response to this was simply "well it shouldn't say that" The website even states that it shouldn't be difficult to find dog friendly pubs, this experience proves the opposite! I understand that sometimes the dog policy is down to the disgression of the landlord but I find it a disgrace to be greeting in such an unpleasant manner when the name of the pub (in this case "the spread eagle" in Wednesfield) is listed clearly in black and white on their website along with a large section about how dog friendly it's supposed to be!!! Suffice it to say, we shall never be visiting again! Thankfully there was a much friendlier pub not far away with a much nicer atmosphere, staff and crutially dog friendly. Myself and my family don't live far from the Wednesfield area, regularly go out on Thursday evenings for a meal and had been looking for a place to go that welcomes dogs. I think the second pub we visited will be where we go from now on and dog or no dog, we will definitely NOT be returning to "the spread eagle"
