Gatehouse in Wolverhampton

Been coming for years, did dip for a while but the place is back better than ever, great atmosphere, cracking food, great leadership in place, the team are attentive on every level. New Team member Sofia doing a cracking job. Nearly forgot, food was fresh, piping hot and lovely. Cracking value too. Cheers guys.

Brilliant service, warm friendly family atmosphere. Tvs in the family booth area close to the kitchen. Great food, good reasonable prices for both food and drink. Plenty of choice. All good fresh cooked produce. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating for large parties or family dining split between 2 areas and a separate bar/main pub area where you can also eat and watch the sport. Really nice place to visit. Nice, clean and tidy but be mindful, it is a family place, so kids like scream and run around. Seating areas outside. Highly recommended

We go to the Gatehouse every week and I highly recommend it. The staff are so lovely and friendly and the service is spot on. A special thanks to Ethan and the waitresses who remember us and always make us feel welcome. The food is excellent, appears quickly and is always piping hot with the staff regularly checking in with us to make sure everything is ok. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed!

Always enjoy the food here. Especially the breakfasts, Sunday lunches & lasagne!! The staff are lovely, friendly, professional & helpful. The pub is always kept really clean & tidy. Plenty of room inside & out. I tend to come in the day & it has a lovely quiet atmosphere. I really recommend here for a good meal.

Been using the Gatehouse since day 1,always been a great pub, but since Loz has taken over it's even better, the staff are always really friendly and go the extra mile smiley and great banter.

Bar area is full of sticky tables, loads of mess and people vaping indoors. Used to be a nice pub but it's gone down hill

Have previously reviewed here, but under new management over last few yrs. I do like it here and they do have gluten free menu but you are best downloading the app, shame green king pubs in general don't advertise this fact. Meals are good value for money, takes Sundays for example a roast and a drink for a tenner, shame no gluten free Sunday roasts as if they removed the Yorkshire, I'm sure it would be as I didn't react after changing it, but I'm not allergic. The drinks selection is good and seperation between eating areas and pub. Booths with kids TV in and more adult areas too, and a beer garden which is enclosed and fog friendly. Worth a visit if in wolves

Nice pub, been here a few times over the years. Well, straight into the fish n chips. Fish 9/10 Chips 9/10 Peas 7/10 I enjoyed this meal, the only thing that let it down slightly, was the overly runny mushy peas. It was almost pea soup. Apart from that, they did great! *Update* Mushy peas were much better on this visit 29/07/24 I score them 9/10

I had a steak. £12. It was like eating an old boot. Left it and walked out. Never again going to that pub.

Had the seabass and it was lovely but the tomatoes sauce is not needed and the horseshoe doughnut needs more strawberries if it wasn't for that tomato sauce on the seabass it would have been 5 stars

The service was terrible!!! The bar was really quiet but the guy behind the bar was dragging his feet. He is really rude!!!! I found him to have a very bad attitude. I asked if he was OK? He said who are you talking to? I just said... oh... sorry. He took around 15 minutes to serve myself and 1 other customer. He had to pour 2 pints of guineas for the other customer but whilst he was doing that I asked if I could just get a pint of lager.... he said no!!! Abruptly, I'm serving. Another moment of..... oh.... OK sorry. I felt myself apologising to ask him for anything and hoping one of the girls would serve us as his attitude was abysmal. I would of understood if he was really busy or had numerous orders going but he didn't. I won't be going there again!! I was testing the place out as I've recently moved to akron gate estate and was going to take the family for food Sunday, safe to say I won't be doing that now. If I could score a zero I would sorry gatehouse staff but this guy made our all round experience really bad!! The girls were all nice and friendly so I don't want to put them in the same category as the rude guy.

Came in here to watch the football all the tables were reserved some with just two ppl sitting at with there feet all over the chairs ! Also go told that bar was for over 18s only in stead of asking me how old my daughter was who is actually 20.have used this pub since it 1st opened staff have become rude and dirty sticky tables really gone down in the dumps !

It was my first visit and won't be my last .excellent food service excellent and couldn't believe how fast food was delivered to our table . Staff were all very friendly can't wait to go again.

Came in for breakfast. Staff are lovely. Drinks came almost instantly from ordering on the app. Food was gorgeous!

Starter was amazing but the main was a big let down we both ordered steak, one med/well and one med/rare both were wrong one was very hard and dry and the orther was barely cooked. We complained and was offered a free pudding or drink which wasn't welcomed as we just wanted our dinner the way ordered. Terrible service this is the second time. Won't be returning.

I always enjoy coming here for family meals. The staff are always welcoming. I have no complaints at all. We love Gatehouse.

Visited Thursday checked online, what a great deal free starter or pudding with any big meal. Team was very friendly and there was a great atmosphere, the girl at the front made a great deal of my sons birthday which made his day 👍👍👍

Just your normal pub with food. Decorated nice, the staff appeared very busy. No after service when food is served. The food was OK and wouldn't complain.

Benn here several times , good and service are the best in Wolverhampton.

Got the 2 mains deal for £11 or so. The 'full' english was disappointingly small and was offered toast for an extra 99p which is jusy silly. But that fish was superb, probably best ive had. Chef definitely knows what theyre doing. Woman who took my order needs to improve her customer service and the overpriced juice tasted watered down. Average overall can see why it was empty.
