Very good restaurant where the meals are very generous and the welcome is warm.

Loved the vegan english breakfast (which I ordered as a second lunch ;-) ). So filling! And great service- I received soy milk with my tea (with no additional costs). Thanks, recommended!

Below expectations, super slow service. Food okay but nothing to die for. Average at best. Slices of cake are very thin but you still pay the full price. Would not visit again.

I made a phone booking for 18 people but when my family arrived they were turned away. It transpired that the cafe had forgotten to make a note of the booking. We persevered, and were able to get half of us seated though the staff were not helpful or understanding. In the end half our party had to leave as there just wasn’t enough space. Once we had ordered, some of the food took over an hour to arrive. Two people’s meals never turned up. In the end we asked for a refund and left. I can understand the mistake with the booking, but the staff showed no interest in remedying this and the service thereafter was poor.

We were some friends just wanting a coffee and a croissant, we waited 30 minutes for 3 coffees and 2 croissants, and they forgot one coffee. Horrible experience.

I attended the Spires Cafe with some friends for one of their birthday's. We sat down just after 12, and ordered coffee and breakfasts/lunch. We did not eat, or even recieve our drinks until 14:15. After an hour and a half of waiting for our food and drinks, we asked the staff about an update. They said 'just coming' for the next 45 minutes. The food and drinks only arrived when we threatened to leave and had begun to put on our coats. When the food eventually arrived, they had forgotten one of our orders, and so we waited for another 5 minutes. I am not normally one to write reviews, but the experience was awful. We had to cancel our subsequent plans. The only redeeming feature was that one of the waitstaff (Charlotte) was lovely. I will never go back, and would recommend that you don't attend in the first place.

Friendly service, nice atmosphere with it being next to the Gloucester Green market, and the pizza was absolutely brilliant. Was a longer wait for the food but they handled it well and apologised for any inconvenience. Happy to recommend!

Nice little place tucked away from the Main Street with great space for a breakfast, coffee or if you want to sit and work underripe for a little while. Food is wholesome. Had a full English breakfast which was very generous in portion size. Friendly service and nice environment. Worth a stop if you’re in the business for breakfast or lunch. - Value for money? Very cosy little cafe in the centre of Oxford, with lots of delicious savoury food and cakes. Perfect for a quick bite before a show at the New Theatre. Will definitely return.

This is undoubtably the best café in Oxfordshire for a delicious brunch. My girlfriend and I visit weekly, getting the Spires Breakfast and the Avocado on Toast. We both leave incredibly pleased by the consistently high quality produced used! The staff have treated us with such warmth and courtesy from our first meeting, treating every customer like family! 100% would recommend to anyone for an all around delicious, memorable, warm and very very well priced experience!!!

This Oxford café nails it for breakfast—amazing quality you wouldn’t expect from a typical café! It's a quiet place where you eat very well for a moderate price. The waiters, who must be the cooks, are very friendly. I ate a chicken cesar salad, oven cooked salmon, a prima pizza. Everything was very good and very well cooked. I made it my canteen for the week. Congratulations to this team who still know how to cook good food.

The best all day breakfast we have ever had! The homemade sourdough toast, real butter, thick slices of bacon, hash brown , juicy sausage, steamed spinach, scrambled eggs and best of all, butter beans in a rich, herby tomato sauce instead of baked beans! I would return to Oxford just for this breakfast alone. Friendly service, delicious coffee and cakes, informal vibe, just perfect. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal and an inspirational take on the traditional full English!

We discovered The Spires Cafe whilst we were visiting Oxford, and what an amazing find! The cafe is beautifully decorated inside. We ordered the margherita pizza for the boys and a pannini for my husband and me to share. We had planned to share a cake too as there was a delicious looking golden honeycomb cake. The margherita pizza was very good, great cheese pull, the boys thoroughly enjoyed it and the pannini was tasty too. A bonus point that they served alcohol beverages too, Highly recommend, the service was really good. Would go back again if visiting Oxford.

A nice place to drink coffee... or a cocktail. You also have a good choice of cakes.

Waited an hour for food on a not busy Monday morning. Half of the coffees arrived and waited 20 minutes for the other two. Food was ok but had obviously been under heat lamps for a while. Black pudding was solid and inedible. An empty table was not cleared for an hour despite 3 people working behind the bar.

It's sad, but at the beginning we waited 45 minutes for coffee and 55 minutes for food. On my dish was a black hair short male. I am sorry to write this because the service itself was nice and I did not want to put them in front of the owner in the wrong light, but if the owner asked me for details, I have to give them. The food was unfortunately not tasty, scrambled eggs has a strange smell, and yet hard the team is a dish, you throw the sal-salt pepper eggs stir and you're done. Here, scrambled eggs are probably made from a ready-made egg or mixed with something. The smell is disgusting. The salmon next door was kind of fresh but very poor quality. I was well-imaged to this place because the place itself was pleasant, but unfortunately in breakfast the most important thing is the food. The other items ordered were also very bad

Pretty good food, pretty good coffee, but nothing that made me go "wow!". Went for a full English and a coffee, and it took quite some time to get it as the place seemed a bit understaffed. Looked like the guy just assembled the plate from an area of already cooked items, which is fine, but it shouldn't have taken as long as it did.

During my recent one-day trip to Oxford, I had breakfast at this wonderful place. The English Breakfast was delicious, especially the baked beans and sausages—some of the best beans I've had in the UK. The ambience was fantastic, and the service was excellent. The staff were polite and helpful, which added to the positive experience. They truly deserve a high rating. I also tried the croissant, which was very good as well. Great value for the money.

This place deserves 5 stars. I’ve been coming here very often to study, and it is the best cafe I’ve found in Oxford. They have great prices, friendly service, a clean bathroom, and good food and drinks. I’ve not had one wifi issue. The customer is taken care of here!

It is a pleasure to visit this cafe. Atmospheric establishment, delicious cuisine, pleasant service. The most delicious coffee and simply incredible traditional dessert of Albania (trileche)...I recommend to visit and try it!

stumbled across this gorgeous cafe while looking for a dinner place, and so glad i did!! i ordered the english breakfast, and i don’t normally like baked beans, but i will eat baked beans they make any day!!!!! everything about that meal was perfect and i will travel to oxford if it means i can have this meal again

This place is really a Gem. I’m visiting Oxford and this was the first place I had dinner. I order the chicken pesto sandwich. It was fresh and delicious. The following day I came back and had the Beef Lasnga. It was fleshly made and the position was very generous. It was very tasty. Service was excellent. I really recommend this place. The dinner atmosphere was delightful.

We came here because we saw a high-star review, and I have to confirm that they deserve these high stars. I love their sharing option; we ordered a vegetarian English breakfast, very high quality and delicious! the portion is enough for two, and very2 value for money. The cafe has a character, without the market outside, it offers a very nice Oxford ambience. Good news for Muslims, the staff said chicken is halal. You can ask again if you would like a confirmation, if it is not, please make a review to correct my info.

There are not too many ppl when we went in (4-5pm). Quiet and peaceful, the staff was friendly and looks like he is also the chef? Order 1 spires breakfast and chicken porcini. Both are delicious and recommend! Just look at the photos I took

Americans here..... We ate breakfast here once during our 3 day stay in Oxford. I wish we knew about this place in the days prior because we would have eaten here every day. It's truly a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious and the chef and staff were extremely friendly. Don't miss this wonderful place!!

What a great place to visit in a great location. Right in the centre but away from the main road ( in the middle of the Bus station) where you can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Service was exceptional, Mr Jove was very helpful and attentive, always making sure we have everything we need. The food was exceptional. The Pizza was absolutely delicious.The kids could run around while me and my husband enjoyed our coffee in piece-:) We will definitely come back.

This place offers group afternoon tea and a pleasant experience. Very easy to book and friendly staff assisted throughout the process. Good for price as well.

Great service. The waitress works on her own but she always keeps smiling when serving even many customers come at the same time. Flat white is ok and the chicken porcini is delicious.

The English breakfast is delicious and fresh. The baked beans are amazing and the mushrooms are even better. Service is a bit slow when it’s busy but the staff are really friendly. Saturday mornings are really busy so there might be a bit of a wait. But the food is soo worth it. 10/10

Re- edited my previous review where I thought the food was great but service so so. I have been back since and I have got excellent service, providing me with receipt via email and a factual copy( for claiming company expenses). Appreciate that they went out of the way to change my first expression on customer service. Well done spires team and shout out for responding as soon as. This time I tried the chicken porcini still delicious but my all time favorite will always be the rack of lamp. Thank you once again.

Thought I'd share my thoughts on a few visits, very welcoming! Relaxed atmosphere, Had breakfast and dinner. You know when you eat food and it stays with you, it was made from fresh ingredients! Full of taste and lovely little twists to the traditional dishes. I would highly recommend if you're a foodie like me :) Try this place out! BTW the coffee is on point, and I will be back soon.

The place was highly rated on google so thought we would give it a go. First impression - not very clean. Service was good but very slow and not very happy staff. The toilets were filthy but noticed a lot of the public just walking in to use them continuously. The food was nice, very standard. Standard pricing also.
