really great food and not expensive

Nice pan-asian restaurant with an oddly appropriate name. They serve dishes from across the whole Asiatic continent, which I usually consider trying to reach for too many things and accomplishing none. However Pan Pan seems to be doing right the jack of all trades, I tried the Singaporean rice chicken and I was pleasantly surprised by the tenderness of the meat and the sharpness of its flavour. They also have a particularly garlicky Korean Fried Chicken that almost justifies a visit to the locale on its own. Ultimately, I wouldn't recommend it if you are craving a specific culture's cuisine, but it's ideal if you are up for anything or if you have friends with disparate menu choices.

Came to this restaurant for dinner on Friday without a reservation and was seated at level 1 by the window. It has a good selection of Pan-Asian menu. We ordered tobboki, kimchi mee goreng, curry laksa, and bubble tea. A slight letdown by the curry laksa, as it didn't have the laksa flavour we're familiar with, but the rest were great.

Ordered food from here and unfortunately it tasted like poorly executed westernised thai food. We tried a variety of dishes and the tastes are just not there.

We've visited Pan Pan upwards of ten times and it's always a good experience. Service is friendly and fast. There are some stand-outs on the menu such as the Nyonya Tofu, Lulu Rice and Beef Rendang. The only thing I'd love to see from them is some special menu items/rotations as we've been visiting for a couple years but the menu has stayed much the same - which is no bad thing - but I'd like to try something new from them!

Oh my god SO GOOD. Best Korean food I’ve had in aaaaggges and Bao buns actually!! Huge vegan menu, and I’m a bit of a food snob so am never really satisfied at most restaurants because the vegan food is never as good as the regular menu but this place is insane. Tteokbokki was super spicy but delicious. Miso aubergine texture was perfect (I got it without onions), flavour of the Bao bun was delicious and not underfilled, my partner said the satay chicken was delicious and so was the hanoi chicken - cooked perfect. And they do vegan bubble tea!! I was honestly in heaven tonight not gonna lie. I am so so full so definitely wouldn’t see the plates as “tapas” we over ordered for sure lol oh and the croquettes and spring rolls were delicious too! And edamame was very fresh. Would 100% come back here and recommend it to anyone in Oxford.

Ordered a takeaway all gluten free for the first time from Pan Pan last night. Was a special occasion, but we couldn't get out to a restaurant. I took time to look into places that did yummy food with a really good gluten free menu. WOW - the food was so so tasty, enjoyed every mouthful. It arrived nice and hot. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon :-)

Claim to have a gluten free menu but then when you ask, they say it's not safe for coeliacs. Well, it's not a gluten free menu then is it.

I ordered the kimchee me goeong. Wierd spelling, but this is the BEST fried Asian noodle I have tasted in Oxford so far. No complaints at all.

What a find we had a selection of starters all were well cooked and tasty from the calamari to the not well named crispy dump. We all had a main and would recommend the crispy duck with hoisin sauce and rice wonderful then the deep fried bao bun with ice cream wow the black sesame ice cream was great. All in all it was great and a good price.

The staff is very nice and the atmosphere too, but how this place has such good reviews is a total mystery to me. These people must really hate food, or have no idea what food is beyond canned lentils, or they are paid to leave good reviews. I do not recall the last time I had such a bad meal in a restaurant. Very little flavour in all dishes. The "Malaysian tofu" was just deep fried tofu with sweet chilli sauce from a jar and a handful of peanuts. The Lulu rice - it's hard to believe how you can make rice with pork belly bland, but that's how it was. The absolute apex was the KFC - it was as if the cook had never battered anything before and a far cry from proper crispy chicken. It was also greasy and stringy and the 5 spice sauce just tasted like sriracha mayo. At least it's cheap.

Lived in Oxford for 4 years and Pan Pan is the only restaurant that’s been consistently amazing every time. Reasonably priced, fantastic food. Quick and kind service. A true 10/10. Must eat here!

We ordered from Pan Pan for a work meeting, and it was amazing, we loved it all. We appreciate how last minute and quick the delivery was. The delivery driver was very kind and arrived very quickly. We hope to order again from them!

We love Pan-Pan! It's our go to restaurant when we have a night away from the kids as it never fails us! Great food, good service at a reasonable price! The frozen beer glasses with a cold beer and Thai crackers always gets the night off to a good start!!

Incredible Curry Laksa (a must try), authentic Rendang, and delicious street food including tofu dishes, grilled aubergine, roti chanai. Had high expectations when visiting with family, as my parents are from Malyasia and Hong Kong.. but everyone loved all of the food! We will be back. Smallish casual looking restaurant with good range of both food, drinks, desserts

My son's favourite restaurant in Oxford. And now it's mine as well. The food is superb, as is the service. Recommend the aubergine starter.

I went with a big group and as the place is small, the tables were in two group of people. For starter, I ordered the pork dumplings and it was good. As my main dish, I chose the dish with rice and chicken and even though was a simple dish, it was delicious and the salad dressing was great (I guess with mustard too). 1st floor was small but cozy. Good value for money.

We shared a selection of small plates between a group of 4 of us. All the dishes were superb and worked very well for sharing. We were very surprised at how good value it was when the bill arrived! The staff were friendly and we were served quickly.

I used to really love going here for the gluten free curry laksa but unfortunately it is no longer available on the gluten free menu :( A little disappointed

Great food, great atmosphere. Surprisingly fast service given we a group of 8 had ordered at least 10+ starters and 8 different main courses. Everything I tasted was incredible. Gotta try that bao bun and their Korean Fried Chicken. Yaki noodles(with prawns) was my favourite. Could have a better selection of desserts though. Was underwhelming when we got to that part.

The “pan-Asian” restaurants of the UK are a crazy phenomenon that should be studied. I usually love when British Asian food is unabashedly inauthentic and my gripe with pan-Asian places is their dedication to the bit of “authenticity” but then the food is just bland. AND YET Pan Pan pulled through. We just got a bunch of appetizers- the Korean fried chicken, crispy dump, aubergine, roti, Thai wings, ttobeoki (sp?) and they all slapped. Was the KFC as good as a Korean place in London? No. Did it hit The Spot? Yes. Very yum and loved the variety. Wish they made the restaurant like 50% more bright in terms of lighting tho.

Food pretty disappointing after the good reviews. Beef rendang lacked flavour and a lot of the beef was tough. Likewise laksa was uninspiring and lacking character.

Good location. Good ambience. Good and quick service. Large portions. Decent prices. But the food is bland. Not a lot of flavours. Seemed to me like a British version of Asian food. Tried their Pho, Bibimbap and Korean Fried Chicken. Would recommend the fried chicken- that was flavourful and good. The other two, for me, lacked some flavour. If you are not a big fan of spicy food, this is a good place for you.

If ye like a boiled chicken in ye curry then this is the place for you. This Thai green curry is nae fit for human consumption. It's a culinary catastrophe that resembles a prison dinner—more punishment than pleasure. The flavors are a chaotic mess, leaving me yearning for a taste of anything remotely Thai. A dismal attempt at a dish that belongs behind bars. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Very good food and great choice of options!

I would describe this place's food, without any sense of irony, as being 'dangerously delicious'. Very hearty portions, lovely authentic ingredients and some fun fusion dishes mean that, if you have the same level of self-restraint as I do, you'll leave with an empty wallet and a very full stomach. Just a short walk outside of the city centre and on the way to Cowley, it's well worth the trip.

Utterly delicious and authentic food, cool decor and very friendly, prompt service.

We ordered a Korean Style rice (Bibinbap) and Thai style fried noodle (Pan Thai Noodle). The noodle is good but the rice is very average - just like putting different veg and meat (not hot) on top of a bowl of rice. Price is on high side with each of us spent £20 for just a simple lunch.

We visited Pan Pan in Oxford on 12th October 2023, we didn't book, however, got a table straight away. The staff were friendly and professional, The menu had a good choice of food. The food was cooked well and very tasty. Parking isn't great as you need to find them locally but worth the walk. Definitely recommend this restaurant for eating and the restaurant is well designed and has a good atmosphere.

Hands down the best sticky ribs and chicken and rice. The chicken was the most succulent chicken I have ever had and it came with a nice salad on the side that just cut through all the tasty flavours. The crispy dumplings were absolutely divine too. This place is definitely one of my favourites now! Atmosphere was intimate but casual too, a nice mix.

The flavours of the food are so chosen. There is a dedicated vegan menu so if you are a fan of tofu u are in luck! I really reccomend the sesame salad, it was so refreshing and the dressing was delicious as well as the bao bun!!

I had my lunch which was Indonesian Satay with beef and Oolong tea. The food was excellent, exactly original Indonesian taste brought in a big portion together with a bowl of steam rice and a very fresh and tasty salad. Prices rather small according to the quality and quantityof food and great service 10+for the Chef. The server , Julia was extremely kind, helpful, professional, smiling all the time. 10+ Inside is a nice music , not very loud, but exactly how it should be in a small cozy Asian food place. Very peaceful and relaxing. However, it was the first time when I came to eat in this place. I walked inside, but I walked outside immediately to check the Korean pub on the opposite side of the road. Why? Because Pan Pan it doesn't look so great decorated from outside and I didn't trust it so much. I ve lived in Thailand and traveled in whole indochina for 20 years. I wanted an authentic taste of Asian food. So, I came back 3 min later because the other Korean pub was closed, so I didn't have a choice. And I didn't regret any second ! I felt absolutely great in Pan Pan! I recommend from whole my heart 💯 ❤❤❤❤❤ I ll come back at Pan Pan for sure. Pan Pan is not only a fake advertising, but for sure" The real taste of Asian Far East". Thank you, Chef, Julita and all Pan Pan staff for your brilliant work❤❤❤

I would definitely recommend Pan Pan to anyone looking for pan-Asian food in Oxford. It is a great place to go for a casual meal. The staff are friendly and attentive. Good portions, and the flavors are vibrant and authentic. Some of the standout dishes include the KFC chicken (crispy chicken with garlic mayo), and the laksa (spicy noodle soup).

Asian snacks, similar to tapas or full plate dishes, are served at Pan Pan. We liked everything very much, the kimchi was very tasty. Good service and the prices are reasonable. Recommendation from me.

Went here at 7pm on Sunday and the place had great ambiance as we entered, staff were attentive and pleasant. Food selection is 1st class, makes it hard to choose what you want. I had KFC (Korean fried chicken) and beef bulgogi bao and they were tasty and delicious, chicken satay for mains and also extremely tasty and would highly recommend. Reasonable prices for Oxford too!! Thanks to the team at PanPan

Excellent authentic southeast Asian food in Oxford!

A tiny but inviting nook on St. Clement's a couple blocks past the Magdalen bridge. We enjoyed scrumptious small plates of Korean fried chicken, kimchee, duck bao, ribs, and vegetable dumplings, topped off by a cold Singha. The food arrived quickly, it was savory and fresh. A great way to introduce yourself to East Asian street food!

in general food here is super mid. very bland and locked taste. but ... the bubble tea is probably the best in Oxford!

One of the first restaurants I have tried in Oxford, I was craving for something hot and delicious, and the laska delighted my appetite. I started with roti canai, which is also as good as it gets. Laska was definitely a highlight, tasty, and sufficient to satiate. With a full stomach, I also ordered a bobba tea, which was refreshing. Do visit this little gem whenever you are in the centre, and crave some delicious South asian food.

How delicious is Oxford Southeast Asian cuisine? It and Kopitian are both delicious. I think it is better than Kopitian. Pan pan series is worth trying.

Beef rendang was recommend and was fantastic! Lovely staff, cool background music and just generally a lovely experience. Bubble tea is also very nice indeed.

Two stars off as there is no halal meat available unfortunately. Appreciate if halal meat can also be provisioned.
