The Spice Box in Harrow

I have to say this place is such a nice gem. Thanks to my brother in law introducing us to this place myself and hubby have been many times and even the parents they loved it to. We eaten in and takeaway both are good. Much better than spice rack and everest.

Have been three times, twice with friends and once with my daughter. The food has been great every time, complimented by really friendly service. Look forward to returning.

When we visited for lunch and there were four of us, the bill came to around £60, which offers good value for the quality of the meal. Seating was Comfortable, though it can get a bit crowded during peak hours.Service was very Friendly and attentive, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. **Spice Box best Dishes:** - Garlic Naan: Delightfully fluffy with a perfect garlic kick. - Chilli Roti: A spicy twist that hits the right notes. - Chole Masala and Panner Labrador : Rich and flavorful, a standout dish. - Veg Manchurian: Deliciously satisfying, a must-try. - Bendi Fry : it was a perfectly cooked dish. **Not so Great dishes:** - Schezwan Rice: Missed the mark, lacking the expected punch. It was too sweet. - Mango Lassi: Disappointing, more like mango-less lassi and less sugar.

Disappointing Experience at Spice Box. I recently visited Spice Box, and despite its pretty exterior and decent décor, the experience was extremely disappointing. The food quality was terrible and left me with an upset stomach. The chicken tikka was overcooked, dry, and lacked any of the authentic flavors you would expect. The dal makhani didn’t taste like dal makhani at all, lacking richness and flavor. The ingredients seemed low quality, and the preparation felt rushed. On top of that, the restaurant played the same song on loop, which made the atmosphere even more irritating. I would not recommend this place and definitely won’t be returning. Very dissatisfied!

Worst Indian food. The noodles were very dry. Bhaji pav was too sweet. When she came to ask the review of food, she was arguing very rudely. The woman who takes the order is very rude. Wastage of money here.

Worst cuisine I've tasted since arriving in London. I work in that region, so I ordered a few meals for lunch, but they weren't very nice, so I went back, but the taste was the same. I will not be visiting here. Staff service is satisfactory. Thank you.

The service was okay. Food was good, The salad was a bit sad. hence 4 stars. The bottle of lager was a large bottle. The restaurant was quiet.

Worst food i had after coming to london! I had ordered chicken lolipop it was not fried properly neither it was like lolipop was just like chicken pakoda. Even ordered butter naan it wad hard as a bread was not able to chew and swallow properly had to throw it as it is . Veg fried rice was tasteless with some veggies added in it! I REQUEST EVERYONE SEEING THIS TO NOT ORDER FROM HERE AS IT IS COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!

I tried their lamb biryani, lamb sheekh kabab and karahi chicken today. Sheekh kabab was good and karahi chicken was average. Worst part is the biryani.it was not even a biryani, they just mix lamb masalas with coloured basmati rice. There was no aroma. It's not even close to call it as a biryani. I don't know how they got such good reviews.

Visited for the first time today and will definitely be back again. Food was delicious and excellent. Service is very warm and friendly. Inside ambiance is very nice and relaxed.

We tried chicken biriyany.the masala(gravy) was so good 👍.basmathi rice served with Boneless chicken.The chicken and rice had no flavour at all. Average Biriyani. They have service charge also(2.38£)

Got put in the hospital due to their food, ordered on Uber eats for keens curry on the notes I put down mild and not spicy as I have a medical condition. Food arrived took two bites and they made it extra spicy instead. Later my stomach was playing up and had to call ambulance. Spent one night in Northwick park hospital because of ulcer flare up. Contacted restaurant who did not take accountability. Said base of curry is hot so we could not make it mild. So I told them you read I had a medical condition so you should have just refused the order instead of putting me at risk. I have since complain to Uber and will be taking this further

Tried the Spice Box for the first time. Was impressed with the wide variety of choices on the menu. The starter and the main course were very tasty and well made. The service provided by Shivani was exceptional, she was very attentive and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

If you’re looking for a fat munch, and a place to cure your hunger. Then, The Spice Box is the place to go! The Service is amazing, the Staff are very helpful when it comes to choosing dishes and you can tell that they know what they’re talking about 😉. The Food, stunning. Top Tier 💯/💯. The Restaurant looks beautiful and is covered with cool catchphrases. The Decor makes the Restaurant feel very comforting and like home and I love the fact that you can hire this Restaurant out for things such as Birthdays, Baby Showers, Engagements etc. Overall, I give The Spice Box a well deserved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very tasty food and nice people. Highlights were the baigan ka bharta and the peshwari naan.

This is our go to takeaway for Indian food now. The food arrives warm, relatively good time, it tastes good and is fresh even the Naans. The problem we had with Indian delivers was that they would start good and the quality declined in few weeks. Not this one. They kept it going. We try new dishes everytime and they are all good. An average Indian customer might like them hotter but it’s good for us gringos. 🙂

The Spice Box did a fantastic job with catering for my party at home with a lovely selection of 6 starters, papadums, chutneys and followed by Veg and Chicken Biryani for mains. The food was delivered on time and really tasty with generous portions for all. I would not hesitate to recommend Jyoti and her fantastic team.

10/10…fantastic food and service. Food was incredibly fresh and so tasty. Some dishes that I’ve never tried and they were mind blowing. Especially the Malai Tikka (vegetarian). Astitva who served us was friendly, attentive and so polite. This is a must try hidden gem and I know I will be raving about it to the people I know.

Pav bhaji, pani puri, Munchrian and samosa - I have tried these items and all were delicious

this is an incredible restaurant. I have been going here for the past six months and I go regularly. I eat a lot of Indian food and I cook a lot of Indian food and this is the only place I have found in North London where the cooking honestly taste home-made. none of the takeout style oily curries that will taste the same. this place is refined and absolutely incredible. you must try the chicken curry on the bone, Lamb biryani, rose falooda etc and some of the incredible chaat (desi street food) on offer. I have tried to gatekeepers place for so long because I don’t want it to become busy, but it’s too good..

The absolute best Indian food you can have in North London

Ordered on Uber eats- food was unacceptably spicy and I eat spicy food! The worse part was the owners feedback to me was “I will let the chef know” would not recommend to anyone and will definitely not be visiting the restaurant or ordering ever again.

Simply the best curry I’ve had since we were in Delhi 25 years ago. The biryani was absolutely delicious and the samosa starter was also really good. Very good service too: kind and efficient. Highly recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of dining in The Spice Box, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food is nothing short of outstanding. Authentic flavours and cooked to perfection. I especially recommend veg Manchurian as it was an absolute highlight of the entire meal. Tilapia marinated fish and starters were amazing. Value for money the portion sizes were generous. There was a continuous delivery collection which made me realise how much the food was being loved by people. I ordered gujarati food for my daughter's sagai. The food was excellent. 2 saaks,puri,matter rice kadhi,srikhand,pea kachori,papad and pickle . The gujarati undhiya was absolutely delicious. Joyti's customer service was extremely wonderful. I would 100% recommend this place. Will definitely be placing another order soon.

I've been here a few times with my wife and kids. A nice cosy joint, nice atmosphere, nice music. Staff are friendly and the food is tasty. A shout out to the vegetable biryani and butter chicken the kids and we love it. Will be back there at some point.

First time at Spice Box today. It was very cold so I asked the staff member if they could put on the heating on. Their is no heating and no air con. For a newly refurbed restaurant you would think that it have at least have heating especially in the winter. Starters came and they were tasty 9/10 on that however the portions were very small apart from the Mix Grill. To the owner please sort out some heating in the restaurant its winter and 🥶 cold.

Had a lovely meal at The Spice Box this week. I've been meaning to go there ever since I heard it had opened. It's modern, smart and attractively decorated. We had a mixture of vegetarian and meat main courses, and they were all tasty and well presented. Especially impressed with the service - the lady who served us was just so friendly! Would definitely go back.

The Spice Box a first time visit was quiet impressed with the layout and the ambiance. Starters tasted great had sev puri, pani puri, jeera chicken and tandoori prawns had just the right amount of spice. Main course lamb masala was tender and perfect. I had to edit my previous 5 star comment which was true when the restaurant first opened. I initially had hyped Spice box to my family & friends so much. Yesterday my friends I decided to go dine in there to celebrate our birthdays. There were catalogue of errors!!! 1) The food was tasteless and below standards. Not like the food we had when it first opened. 2) There was no air conditioning which you would expect in a newly opened restaurant. It was over 30 degrees and even hotter inside the restaurant which made our experience not great. 3) My friend ordered boneless Jeera chicken as thats what it stated on the menu however she got it with bones. We addressed this with the waitress who shrugged it off and said the menu is incorrect!!!! 4) The waitress overall did not seem too bothered. 5) The crispy bhajiya were as hard as a rock with no taste. We asked for the Tomato chutney which goes with the crispy bhajiya but the waitress said they don't have any- again she wasn't too bothered. 6) We ordered the Dai puri- there was no taste at all!!!! The dai was sour as if its gone off, the puri was soggy, there was no imli or green chutney inside to give it the chaat taste. We again addressed this with the waitress but she wasn't overly bothered. 7) The Masala mogo was so bland we asked for lemon to spice it up. No salt in all the food! By this time we were reluctant to order mains but we were so hungry so we ordered mixed veg curry and garlic naan....BIG MISTAKE!!!! no taste at all!!!!! Overall we left disappointed. I actually felt embarrassed as I was the one who was raving about this place to everyone. Perhaps the chef has changed but I certainly won't be visiting here again or recommending.

Really enjoyed my meal at The spice box, I got Pani Puri, papri chaat, mix grill and masala fries. To drink we got Mango lassi and mango falooda. Will definitely go again to try their other starters and mains. Went on a Thursday evening and was empty so service was quick.

I ordered Pau-bhaji and Veg Burger. The pau in bhaji was same as burger, would have been better if it was traditional pau. I was expecting the burger to have desi sauce instead of ketchup and mayonnaise with lettuce.

Went today and my faves were: - Masala Chai: perfectly spiced and sweet, honestly could have had another few cups! - Lamb biriyani: so flavoursome and lamb was super tender and beautifully cooked - Veg Manchurian: spicy sweet and tangy Great place and will definitely be coming back for more! It was high time Edgware got an authentic Indian restaurant! Took a chance and ordered food from here and boy was I surprised! Such explosion of flavours and very good value for money! Have ordered twice from here and each time the quality and quantity has been amazing! I cannot wait to try out more dishes and hopefully drop in to check out the place in person. Dishes I tried: 1. Garlic Naan 4/5 2. Paneer Lababdar 5/5 3. Chicken biryani 5/5 (Even in the delivery box the layering was impeccable!) 4. Pani puri 5/5 -definite flavour bomb! Definitely worth a try!

Newly opened, the food was excellent and just what we were looking for. The aloo methi and chicken 65 were particularly delicious. Only criticism was the music was a bit too loud. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Excellent food and reasonably priced. Had the lamb samosas, chicken 65, chilli chicken, chicken jalfrezi (nice but a bit more aromatic/garam masala-y than a standard jalfrezi) and aloo methi with pilau rice and a garlic naan (very good naan). All yummy, freshly cooked and great quality - no chalky chicken or big inedible beef tomatoes like you’d get in a bad curry house. The music was a bit too loud but not a problem when the food is this good 😊

We popped into this new restaurant one weekday lunchtime. Only tried a few things but they were all reaaaallly tasty!! We had the Pani Puri which was yum, jeera chicken which was super flavourful and tasty and surprisingly crispy bhindi. I never thought I'd ever say 'omg that's delicious' to bhindi...! Will definitely come back and try everything else! Really lovely service too :)

Beautiful food! Christened the place with my twin sisters!! ..and..wow..homely cooked desi chicken on the bone! (Succulent! ) lamb rogan josh ....wow...tender lamb!!! I went down for lunch today!! I was in for a shock as the food was amazing 🤩 I had the tandoori wings and a lunch box with desi chicken on the bone with rice and believe me the portion size are nice and the lunch box is filling for sure. Heard of this place on social media so thought I would check it out! Had spicebox wings and a portion of chilli paneer. Wings were really good cooked well tender and tasty! Paneer was good bit too many onions compared to normal chillli paneer but no rating lost for that! We got a tub of mint sauce .. not sure if it had gone off or was another sauce altogether.. was quiet sour.. all in all will visit soon again!

Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a bite to eat around the Edgware area. The food is amazing and the service you cannot fault. Everything was how it should be and I would happily go again in the future.
