Went for Caribbean buffet food was amazing Very authentic

AMAZING food and lovely staff. Had the Sunday dinner twice as takeout and went today for the buffet and it's been spot on every time.

Absolutely beautiful food and a nice pub and the staff really friendly and polite Patrick the Jamaican chef was mega and the food was authentic and out of this world I will be going back and telling everyone I know how good this place is Well done to all the people involved you have something special 👍

The Carribbean food is poor and the veg was cold like it came out the fridge to my plate dumpling was like a rock and the rice and peas was dry and over cooked in all my years of love for this food I couldn't find one thing enjoyable very expensive for what standard the food is cooked too and would definitely never go again highly disappointing the bar staff are polite and it's good for a drink but 1 million percent wouldn't eat here again

£7.70 for a Madri and a blackcurrant cordial (blackcurrant with tap water was £2! 🤦🏻‍♂️) Beer tasted like the pipes hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There’s just no need for those prices at a quiet local pub.

Friendly staff in this Robinson's pub. Good food, including a Caribbean menu. The jerk chicken is really tasty. Beer garden and large carpark. Tram passes at the back. Caribbean themed roast available on Sundays.

I’m not going to say anything bad about this place, but I’ve got nothing good to say about it. I won’t recommend it to anyone.

This company finds eating disorders funny, the business is also NOT Sen friendly, asking people not to bring their own food into the establishment from other food establishments is fine, but laughing at comments calling children with eating disorders wet wipes then blocking when being called out on it is shocking, wouldn’t reccomend if your child is SEN. I will be posting in all the local Sen groups to make sure Sen parents know how you really see and feel about their children and parenting so they can avoid the establishment.

We always have a lovely time at this local, staff are friendly and helpful. Food is always delicious. I would like to counter some negative reviews by saying the Snipe staff and owners treat all children with respect and care. Having a nephew with additional needs they have treated him with patience and respect at all times and he loves this pub because it’s a safe place for him where he can be himself. He loves the chicken nugget meal they do which is just like a nearby fast food outlet.

Amazing pub , Great service and Fantastic new food menu. I have been coming with my family to the snipe for the past 8 months and i can not thank Kate and the team enough for the wonderful service and attention in which we receive when coming. As a family we have enjoyed the new Carribean food menu which caters for us all. The kids love the kids curry and chicken nuggets and chips and me and my husband are a massive fan of the Jerk chicken !! Great Atmosphere, clean and tidy and always fresh water down for our dog. The beer garden is amazing and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much bother. This pub is a great all rounder and caters for all. looking forward to coming in again on Sunday!!! Thankyou guys :)

Disgusting laughing about children’s eating disorders

Jerk chicken was tasty but not enough of it, and rice was clumpy. Steamed veg was good. Curry goat was OK, but served in a small bowl and was mainly sauce. Overall, the ratios were wrong and, consequently, the dishes dry. Expensive for what you get, which is a shame as the chicken suggests the potential is there.

First visit here for food and it didn't dissapoint. You can tell the food was home cooked and we had to wait a little bit but it wasn't a problem for me, the food was delicious and worth the wait. All the staff were friendly and polite and cant wait to go back.

We would like to thank Kate, Gillian, Sheila & Paul for hosting our wake for a dearly loved father yesterday. This is the second wake Kate & her team have organised for our family. We really cannot praise her high enough, the food was wonderful, so fresh and there was great selection for everyone. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, they really are the perfect hosts. If you need to organise a wake, the Snipe is the perfect place to hold it.

Visited yesterday for a birthday lunch. Travelled from the East Midlands, following online reviews. Fantastic sharing platter of Caribbean food. Great value for money and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

On Friday evening my wife and I booked a table at this fine establishment, to savour the fish and chips. Chef Patrick clearly has many years of experience, and suggested we order the Caribbean themed fish meal. Although very tasty and well presented I found it a little spicy for my boring, English palette! It is refreshing to see a chef come out of the kitchen and engage with customers. I was talking to him about reggae for what seemed like ages.! He is cool! The same can be said for Manager Kate. Despite being non stop busy around the tables she found time to spend time talking to customers. Kate also makes a fantastic, refreshing, strong Pineapple Rum cocktail.... I was a little tipsy afterwards! I also met Kate's father, who was similarly engaging, with his conversations about music. As a DJ with over twenty years of experience playing and knowing music I was particularly interested in what he had to say. We finished the evening off with home made lemon drizzle cake, served with ice cream. It would have definitely got 'a ten from Len!' This is now our 'local', even the Wednesday quiz nights are worth popping in for! We'll done Kate and team, I am sure you will go from strength to strength in this Community pub Thank you!

We've recently started going in this pub after learning they had new management. We booked our baby shower here to celebrate my grandsons imminent arrival. The landlady Kate and her team are amazing. They go beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Everything went to plan. We've eaten breakfast and really enjoyed the food. Very tasty 😋 We recently had the Caribbean style fish and chips. Very different and very tasty. Patrick the chef is so lovely. He has many years experience and was so good to see him out of the kitchen engaging with the customers. The atmosphere in the pub is really nice. The regulars are great and friendly.

The Sunday dinner with jerk chicken was lovely, plenty of veg which I thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are very friendly, the service was good. Will definitely go again well worth the money.

I took my children to the Easter event at the Snipe on Saturday, and what can I say. The children were kept busy all day with the fab activities and really enjoyed the Easter egg hunt. Food was excellent you can tell how fresh it is and great value for money all round. Well done to all involved ♥️

The Easter event was a complete con. £10 a ticket, no Easter egg, no bunny, no art for the kids to do. No refunds. Stay well away from buying any tickets here, it’s just been a shambles the whole thing, quick cash scheme. Con. The Easter egg hunt was harribo packets of sweets no eggs, I didn’t receive a refund but I’m willing to accept a full refund if this is now being offered as suggested in the the response to my review below. Also I didn’t sit outside for longer than ten minutes, i moved indoors with my toddler.

Wow what can I say! I would like to thank Kate and the team for a fantastic day at the Easter Party. Everything that was planned happened Spikey Mikey was a massive hit also the Bouncy Castle went down a storm! All the kids loved it and was crying coming away as they didn’t want to leave! We can’t wait for the next children’s event. X

I'd not been in for a while but had a great time

Throughout the duration of my first visit to The Snipe Inn pub, my entire experience has been warm and welcoming. Each individual member of staff is extremely friendly, and have contributed equally - enough for me to become a regular drinker at this pub, If you enjoy a family and pet friendly pub, then I definitely recommend visiting the Snipe Inn.

Great atmosphere me and my family love this pub and we come here a lot for football on TNT and family days and live music. The landlady is really lovely and makes everyone welcome. The drinks are always good quality. All the staff are brilliant too !

What a lovely experience! I had my late father's wake at the Snipe pub recently, the landlady and staff were brilliant couldn't do more to help. The food provided was all to a good standard and most people went back for seconds on the buffet. Highly recommended 5 stars !!

I only nipped in to use the boy's room, the lady behind the bar was very polite, when I asked, next time, I'm in the area, I'll stop for a drink.

Spent a fantastic few hours in here the other day. Sat and ‘Guinea minded’, whilst having a lovely pint. These guys have really turned this pub around. So much drive, ideas, inspiration in bucket loads. I sincerely wish you all the best of luck. I much prefer the homely feel of a smaller venue than a big conglomerate place. So much thought has been put in to this place with quiet areas , involvement with trying to keep the kiddies entertained (far more than I have witnessed some actual parents do) ! Well done guys for creating a lovely homely feel with good old fashioned values, something very sadly lacking in today’s upward society .

Baby Shower at The Snipe - I would highly recommend this space for an event. The pub has recently had a refurb and fit my brief exactly for a neutral shower. Perfect lay out, plenty of room, with a stage area that can be used for the buffet/presentations etc. Landlady Kate took all the stress away made a playlist of my choice, provided the most gorgeous locally sourced buffet which all my family and friends raved about. Kept checking in with me to ask how everything was. Even took care of the cleaning down. I had around 40 adults and 10 children and the space could have facilitated more. Bar staff were lovely and polite and all staff were very attentive. The hire cost of £50 was worth every penny. Thank you so much Kate and team for hosting my special day.

Was in Ashton yesterday with my neighbour. We decided to go in The Snipe. What a lovely surprise! This place is a little gem. Everything about it is lovely. I wish them all the success in the world for the future

Had a party booked and price agreed per head for catering, figures given as requested after Easter for them to then change the price increasing it from 6.50 per head to 9.95 per head, that's over 50% increase! Joke of an establishment and poorly managed response from owners!

Visited the Snipe pub Audenshaw last night with Crimewatchers. It was lovely to meet Kate (licensee) she was very warm and welcoming and showed her support in the work that Crimewatchers are doing for our community. This is a family pub. Im looking forward to the family fundraising events in the summer that Kate plans on organising and supporting both Kate and Crimewatchers in achieving a great community spirit at these events 😀 x

Lovely little pub, pool room in the back. Good selection of ales. Car park is handy, don't forget to put your registration number into the terminal on the bar.

What a stunning cosy pub - brilliant atmosphere. Dog friendly, great selection of drinks and including non-alcoholic and snacks/free dog treats. Kate (landlady) & her family are lovely and really welcoming - all the staff are very friendly. The Snipe shows football on multiple screens which is fab and derby day was fantastic - 100% recommend you visit!

It's an OK kind of pub for Robinson which tend to be on the pricey side, nice enough inside with a variety of rooms.

Just gone in to get food as it was open for a change everything set up for only to be told no chef on till 3.30 no signs up saying this...bar maid was extremely rude will not be going back ever again to the snipe

Cosy and friendly pub, we went in on Saturday afternoon and it was quiet. Dogs are allowed which is a huge bonus. The food we had was good but limited/set menu which was a shame - assume its just because of the time we visited, so we will be back!

Recently been took over by a new Owner. I've not met the land lady yet but I went in for a quick drink a few days ago and the atmosphere is so different from how it used to be I will for sure be back!

Despite checking the website for opening times, it was shut more than an hour after the published time. Telephoned to ask when they would be open and spoke to a very confused gentleman who couldn't give me an exact time as they were "doing a deep clean". They're supposed to open at 1pm Mon to Thurs and noon Fri, Sat & Sun. It was Friday when we visited. They should have either altered the website to notify people of later opening or done the deep clean earlier so it wouldn't interfere with opening times.

Great food and atmosphere, would recommend to all

Me and my family had a fantastic time at this pub yesterday. Dion the Landlady was absolutely wonderful especially with our three children, she let our son put fresh logs on the fireplace and was happy to get him another sausage with his meal free of charge. The food was all home cooked and everything was delicious, the pie of the day was the best pie I have ever had. We had a few games of pool in the pool room too and thought it was great that it's separate from the rest of the pub. We all left feeling like we'd been to an aunties house for dinner rather than a pub. Unfortunately we're not local but if we were we'd be back every weekend!

Visited this pub on Tuesday evening. Always thought it looked nice from outside. After standing at the bar for a few minutes and no-one coming to serve us, a member of staff appeared, walked behind the bar and disappeared through a door into the back. Didn't bother to acknowledge we were waiting. A few minutes later she reappeared, again ignored our presence. After waiting for just under 10 minutes to be served we walked out. Music was loud and chavvy. Tables in the pub were noticeably messy, with dirty plates and glasses on them. Staff don't seem arsed. Will not be returning here.

I drink here occasionally for the real ale. They normally have two or three on. I believe twice a year on bank holidays they will have a real ale day with lots if guess ales. If you like football they have lots of tv's. Worth a visit.

Good pub that has been renovated in excellent decor. Good beers as well and sports shown. Only down side was the very 'chavvy' type of people in on a Saturday night that looked like half of them were on something. Atmosphere was always as though it was going to kick off. Staff seemed not to care about obvious issues. Any other night seems great so would have been 4 stars other than for that
