Ordered sweet and sour chicken, bbq ribs and egg fried rice. None of the food had any flavour and was all cold and bland.

You can tell the food was fresh and had lots of flavour. This is the best yet for a Chinese.

The workers are wonderful and kind, she called to double check that everything is up to standards. This is my second time ordering from here the first time the rice was 10/10 and the salt and pepper nuggets and chips were amazing 100% recommend this place the food is affordable and amazing

This place used to be my go to!!! Not anymore ordered tonight and the food was absolutely awful. This is usually the place I would order from and something has changed. Salt and pepper chips were fries with peri salt on them with onions thrown in. Sweet super king prawn!! Supposed to be cooked in the sauce it wasn’t sauce was poured in to the foil tin and then the battered prawns put in and they was awful. Sorry but awful food tonight.

The worst tasting soup ever had. no flavour, just mostly thicken cornflour mix with lots of sugar and no essence of a chinese meal. Never again!

The food is always lovely from here and even thought the person who delivered our order apologised for it being late it was delivered in less than an hour.

Not sure what has changed but the wings were nowhere near as crispy,the coating has changed.

frozen chips, so much salt it was ridiculous! Rubber squid! Highest rating chinese on Just Eat and will never order again! What a waste of money!

I had the salt and pepper bean curd. Never tried before. It was a good texture - cubed tofu. Hubby always has the dry ribs and they must be good because he eats them so fast!

Food arrived hot and only a little late but it was Xmas Eve and a big order! Delivery driver was lovely… some food was really good the curry sauce, prawn crackers and the fried rice but the sweet and sour chicken not great and the chips were awful, really soggy and not hot. Would possibly try again on a less busy day.

Just ordered from here. The chow mein was nice but everything was awful. The crispy shredded beef came full of boiled onions without any sauce(it came separately) but there wasn’t enough to cover the beef, the sweet and sour chicken was very sour not much sweetness and the egg fried rice didn’t contain any egg.

Very good food, would definitely recommend and order from again.

The most bland Chinese food I have ever eaten. Hubby said his roast pork fried rice was 'alright but nothing to write home about. I ordered the beef in OK sauce... the beef was more like thin donner meat! And rubbery. The sauce was like greasy dirty water.. ive never had an OK sauce so thin and tasteless! you could see the grease sitting on top of the sauce. It didn't even colour the rice when poured over.. just sank underneath it, may have just been a bad choice of dish as ive never used here before, but I can say for definate i wont use again. Huge disappointment

I was disappointed with the salt and pepper ribs. They were tiny cuts of ribs rather then a full rib. I also expected them to have a crispy coating. I was also disappointed that for a order over £20 you didn't get free praw crackers.

First time ordering from here and unfortunately won’t be ordering again. The crispy beef came luke warm, dry and separate to the sauce which I’ve never experienced. The duck was dry and seemed to have been warmed up, not cooked fresh. The chow mein was probably the nicest thing but still just ok. Sorry.

I do like this Chinese restaurant. Nice flavours and always piping hot and fresh food. The ribs are the best iv had yet from a Chinese. The combo starter is perfect and one my favourites and worth every penny. Used these over a year now and won’t stop

Crispy duck pancakes - plenty of cucumber and spring onion, loads of sauce, loads of duck, and enough pancakes for it all. Loved them!

This was not a good experience. Most of the food was bland and greasy. The salt and pepper chips were nice. Missed from the original order but promptly re delivered. The other reviews were good, so maybe an 'off' day.

Consistently good food always. They get busy so will sometimes stop taking orders for short periods and we will always wait till they’re taking orders again instead of going elsewhere. Tried the salt and pepper ribs for the first time tonight and can’t believe we haven’t sooner. They’re dry and not fried, really juicy and flavoursome. Our new go to.

I don't mind it being late if it was worth it...... but it wasn't. I had the wrong rice delivered and the chicken had some plastic in it! worse Chinese I've ever had. it's a shame really as the staff a really nice

I love it, tried beef in tomato for the first time, fab, my usual mushrooms in soy are the best, Chicken breast, huge and cooked perfect, chips and curry nice, this is my go to and they have never let me down, thankyou xx

Actually ordered in work at 3-15 pm , today I understand the restaurant isn’t open for delivery till 5 pm but I ordered for delivery at 6.30 !! Pm , not good enough

First time ordering, never again...Shocking portion size, chips in a foil tray... sausage, chips and gravy in a foil tray, grown adults eating little kids size meal... poor and expensive... salt and pepper chips, chicken tasted bland, chicken fried rice tasted oily and look pale as... Only positive was the delivery driver was so happy, friendly and pleasant.

This is takeaway or delivery only. I have ordered food from here many times over the last few months. The food is fantastic, always a lovely mix of very fresh vegetables in my veg chow mein. I have been truly spoiled and will not go anywhere else now.

Luke warm food beef we couldn't chew and oven chips

Ordered from here because of the reviews. Food was hot when arrived which is good but there was Barely any sauce in the sweet and sour and the chips which were supposed to be salt and pepper chips. Soggy and horrible no taste no salt and pepper in them

Since the delivery trays changed way more vegetables every week, still good food though.

Few items only warm and way to much veg than normal but still nice.

Special chow mein dry - slightly smaller portion size than others but quality was better. Plenty of meat prawns and veg. Noodles were moist and soft, same with the meat. Very tasy. Special black bean - ordered a special instead of beef by mistake. Again meat soft, peppers crunchy but sauce was lacking something. Needed more of it and id prefer it to be thicker which would also make the flavour a bit stronger. Still really enjoyed it though. First time ordering and will definitely order again. Points to the delivery man, very polite and friendly. Also i forgot to add prawn crackers which they allowed me to add over the phone and pay for at the door which i really appreciated.

Fantastic food. Best crispy beef with sauce served separately. Shame that delivery was late though; Friday night so benefit of doubt that just a busy night

Chips were awful, salt and pepper chicken near tastless.

This is my favourite Chinese but a little disappointed last night, unfortunately the prawns and pork were cold and needed the microwave.

Ordered salt & pepper chicken & chips and it was beautiful. Good portion. Chicken chow mein was perfect. No faults at all. Delivery was also very quick. i ordered the same meal again and the consistency is amazing. my favourite chinese place, amazing prices and really nice food.

Chips soggy and cold. Beef fried rice way too spicy. Mixed Sweet and sour - all soggy. Beef chow mein had tiny bits of something in it like fragile plastic or bone that felt like chewing on egg shells. Curry sauce too spicy. Highly disappointing as we had high hopes that we had found a good Chinese that is open on Tuesdays. Delivery was on time. Will definitely avoid this one!

Lovely hot food as always, and add extra wings for the smaller ones gorgeous food.

Ordered BBQ spare ribs in BBQ sauce and got ribs in an orange sauce, which I didn't eat. The rest was luke warm . Tried to contact the restaurant, but all I got was an answer machine. Definitely will not be ordering again.

Beautiful looking and tasting food. Good portion sizes and well priced. Ordered quite a few items and no issues at all. Chicken and mushrooms was a standout alongside the spicy chicken skewers. Will definitely use this place again.

Lovely hot tasty food chicken wings small but put a couple of extras in to make up.

I must remember to avoid this one at all costs in future. Chips were horrible the order was wrong and most of the time you can cope with an incorrect order because it’s something new to try but even the alternative delivery item was will below par. Long delivery times and poor quality food please avoid.

absolutely disgusting, ordered chicken noodle soup and i might as well of filled a bowl of dish water and unseasoned chicken, the chips and curry are disgusting youd think with it being “curry” it would have flavour but clearly this place doesn’t know how to season food. also the “salt and pepper” squid has not seen a sprinkle of salt and pepper and was just rubbery, spent £23 on disappointment

Best ever the wings were massive and so tasty and the rice was beautiful.

Second time I have ordered from Golden Star. The food was exceptional again. My son felt the curry sauce was vastly over priced for a half full small tub but I will definitely order from them again as the food quality is so high.

The salt and pepper chicken strips were lovely and delivery was early. But, the rest of the food just tasted of old oil, I can still taste it now!! My children wouldn't eat it all and I couldn't blame them. So much food wasted all because of the oil.

All food was fresh and generous portions.

I orderd from here as my local was closed , i was so impressed with the food i have stayed with them . A little more expensive but the food is excellent . Chicken chowmein and spare ribs .excellent great food

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was great and was exactly what we asked for and wanted. Our new favourite Chinese takeaway. We got Salt and Pepper wings, Beef fried rice, crispy shredded chicken and lemon sauce (packaged separately) and some sweetcorn soup hold the egg.
