Excellent, fresh, well prepared food and a good portion size too.

didn't like the spring rolls,but everything else was super

First time ordering from here and unfortunately won’t be ordering again. The crispy beef came luke warm, dry and separate to the sauce which I’ve never experienced. The duck was dry and seemed to have been warmed up, not cooked fresh. The chow mein was probably the nicest thing but still just ok. Sorry.

I do like this Chinese restaurant. Nice flavours and always piping hot and fresh food. The ribs are the best iv had yet from a Chinese. The combo starter is perfect and one my favourites and worth every penny. Used these over a year now and won’t stop

Crispy duck pancakes - plenty of cucumber and spring onion, loads of sauce, loads of duck, and enough pancakes for it all. Loved them!

This was not a good experience. Most of the food was bland and greasy. The salt and pepper chips were nice. Missed from the original order but promptly re delivered. The other reviews were good, so maybe an 'off' day.

Consistently good food always. They get busy so will sometimes stop taking orders for short periods and we will always wait till they’re taking orders again instead of going elsewhere. Tried the salt and pepper ribs for the first time tonight and can’t believe we haven’t sooner. They’re dry and not fried, really juicy and flavoursome. Our new go to.

I don't mind it being late if it was worth it...... but it wasn't. I had the wrong rice delivered and the chicken had some plastic in it! worse Chinese I've ever had. it's a shame really as the staff a really nice

I love it, tried beef in tomato for the first time, fab, my usual mushrooms in soy are the best, Chicken breast, huge and cooked perfect, chips and curry nice, this is my go to and they have never let me down, thankyou xx

Actually ordered in work at 3-15 pm , today I understand the restaurant isn’t open for delivery till 5 pm but I ordered for delivery at 6.30 !! Pm , not good enough

Food was bland Ordered extra spicy. Mayo would of been spicier no kick at all Chow mein was bland no taste just tasted like water Won’t be ordering again

First time ordering, never again...Shocking portion size, chips in a foil tray... sausage, chips and gravy in a foil tray, grown adults eating little kids size meal... poor and expensive... salt and pepper chips, chicken tasted bland, chicken fried rice tasted oily and look pale as... Only positive was the delivery driver was so happy, friendly and pleasant.

This is takeaway or delivery only. I have ordered food from here many times over the last few months. The food is fantastic, always a lovely mix of very fresh vegetables in my veg chow mein. I have been truly spoiled and will not go anywhere else now.

Luke warm food beef we couldn't chew and oven chips

Ordered from here because of the reviews. Food was hot when arrived which is good but there was Barely any sauce in the sweet and sour and the chips which were supposed to be salt and pepper chips. Soggy and horrible no taste no salt and pepper in them

Since the delivery trays changed way more vegetables every week, still good food though.

Few items only warm and way to much veg than normal but still nice.

Special chow mein dry - slightly smaller portion size than others but quality was better. Plenty of meat prawns and veg. Noodles were moist and soft, same with the meat. Very tasy. Special black bean - ordered a special instead of beef by mistake. Again meat soft, peppers crunchy but sauce was lacking something. Needed more of it and id prefer it to be thicker which would also make the flavour a bit stronger. Still really enjoyed it though. First time ordering and will definitely order again. Points to the delivery man, very polite and friendly. Also i forgot to add prawn crackers which they allowed me to add over the phone and pay for at the door which i really appreciated.

Fantastic food. Best crispy beef with sauce served separately. Shame that delivery was late though; Friday night so benefit of doubt that just a busy night

Chips were awful, salt and pepper chicken near tastless.

This is my favourite Chinese but a little disappointed last night, unfortunately the prawns and pork were cold and needed the microwave.

Chips soggy and cold. Beef fried rice way too spicy. Mixed Sweet and sour - all soggy. Beef chow mein had tiny bits of something in it like fragile plastic or bone that felt like chewing on egg shells. Curry sauce too spicy. Highly disappointing as we had high hopes that we had found a good Chinese that is open on Tuesdays. Delivery was on time. Will definitely avoid this one!

Ordered salt & pepper chicken & chips and it was beautiful. Good portion. Chicken chow mein was perfect. No faults at all. Delivery was also very quick. i ordered the same meal again and the consistency is amazing. my favourite chinese place, amazing prices and really nice food.

Ordered BBQ spare ribs in BBQ sauce and got ribs in an orange sauce, which I didn't eat. The rest was luke warm . Tried to contact the restaurant, but all I got was an answer machine. Definitely will not be ordering again.

Beautiful looking and tasting food. Good portion sizes and well priced. Ordered quite a few items and no issues at all. Chicken and mushrooms was a standout alongside the spicy chicken skewers. Will definitely use this place again.

I must remember to avoid this one at all costs in future. Chips were horrible the order was wrong and most of the time you can cope with an incorrect order because it’s something new to try but even the alternative delivery item was will below par. Long delivery times and poor quality food please avoid.

Lovely hot tasty food chicken wings small but put a couple of extras in to make up.

absolutely disgusting, ordered chicken noodle soup and i might as well of filled a bowl of dish water and unseasoned chicken, the chips and curry are disgusting youd think with it being “curry” it would have flavour but clearly this place doesn’t know how to season food. also the “salt and pepper” squid has not seen a sprinkle of salt and pepper and was just rubbery, spent £23 on disappointment

Best ever the wings were massive and so tasty and the rice was beautiful.

Second time I have ordered from Golden Star. The food was exceptional again. My son felt the curry sauce was vastly over priced for a half full small tub but I will definitely order from them again as the food quality is so high.

The salt and pepper chicken strips were lovely and delivery was early. But, the rest of the food just tasted of old oil, I can still taste it now!! My children wouldn't eat it all and I couldn't blame them. So much food wasted all because of the oil.

I orderd from here as my local was closed , i was so impressed with the food i have stayed with them . A little more expensive but the food is excellent . Chicken chowmein and spare ribs .excellent great food

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was great and was exactly what we asked for and wanted. Our new favourite Chinese takeaway. We got Salt and Pepper wings, Beef fried rice, crispy shredded chicken and lemon sauce (packaged separately) and some sweetcorn soup hold the egg.

Lovely as always but again the chicken wings are way to small for the price.

Lovely variety of good quality, very fresh vegetables on my vegetable chow mein. Very tasty.

Small ish portions, not real chippy chips just frozen fries but food was okay. Sauce comes separate from crispy chicken. Also spent over 35 quid and they don't give free prawn crackers. First Chinese I've tried in the area so hopefully others are better

The lateness wasn't an issue at all. I order from here every single week couple of times more than once in a week. The chicken wings this time were minute and only just warm and needed a microwave not happy with these

Never tried here before. Wow, brilliant quality of food. I never leave reviews but I honestly felt as if I was eating restaurant Chinese style food. Fried rice was beautiful. Salt and Peppers were so flavoursome. Delivery driver was super fried and apologised for being late even though it weren't. Definitely be back!

The lady that answers the phone is polite on the phone and even friendlier in person. I have tried the Singapore vermicelli noodles, king prawn fried rice and special fried rice and honestly I cannot fault their food. I go from Mossley to Ashton just to pick up. Amazing restaurant.

Pretty plain tasting didn't really feel a Chinese disappointed sadly.

I order every week and this is normally out of this world, tonight the chicken wings were slightly overcooked and much smaller in size. I would still recommend.

Everything was great apart from the OK sauce with ribs and sweet and sour sauce, it tasted strongly of copper so sadly had to leave it

Delivery was late and I requested an update. Being late is not a problem. However there is no reason why the delivery should be 20 minutes later than the revised delivery time! Its OK to be late but make sure you get the new forecast time correct. Food was very good.

Ordered Beef and Mushroom, Fried Rice, BBQ Ribs Dry, Chicken Breast and Satay Sauce, it arrived hot, by a lovely polite delivery guy, all food was fresh and delicious and really tasty

Chicken fried rice tasted like fish, awful. Had it before and was nice but this time was disappointing must have been cross contaminated.

Good customer service, food was average, tasted and smelled like it had been microwaved 🤷🏼‍♀️ crispy chilli beef was really dry came with the sauce separate which wasn’t great. Was all red hot though which was a positive.

The food here is always lovely and fresh. The veggies have a nice crunch,not limp and over cooked. The staff are really friendly, I've once phoned to correct an issue (caused by my error) and they were lovely. Highly recommend. The pork in soy and honey is really tasty. If they increased their food hygiene level to 5 * I think I'd be even happier ordering. Lovely food and lovely staff.

For the first time i have to say i was really disappointed with my food, special foo yung had 3 pieces of beef, 2 prawns and rest chicken, got not one bit of pork, salt and pepper ribs, no taste at all, just plain ribs with a few onions and peppers, my daughter enjoyed her sausage chips and gravy though, im unsure if it was a different chef or was it because i had discount with the card, im a regular customer and i would of rather of paid full price to get the right tasty food, maybe you should stop the card if it compromises our orders
