The Slanted Door in South Kesteven

Lovely restaurant and lovely food. Linda was an excellent host! Linda helped us with everything we needed and went the absolute extra mile. Thank you so much Linda you made our experience one to never forget!!

This is the third time that I've been to The Slanted Door. Every time I have been impressed with the quality of the food and with the friendly and efficient service. I went with a group of seven friends from work and the chef and staff coped extremely well with the timings of our various courses. The cocktails there are legendary but, as a driver, I had a Mojito Mocktail - in fact, it was so good I had two! Each course was excellent. It's hard to find somewhere that serves food that is delicious, innovative and filling. Although I enjoyed each course, I have to give a shout out to my dessert - a modern twist on a classic: the flavours of Black Forest gateau but as a cheesecake with ice cream. Wonderful!

Starters, chicken liver pate & whipped stilton were bland. The duck main was awful, stodgy and unappetising. Ox cheek was better but more of a winter dish than in June. There was no ambience, in fact there was so much rearranging of furniture by the staff that we felt we were in a removal van rather than a restaurant. The wine was good, thankfully. Although the waitress saying "Do you wanna taste it & do you want me to pour it?" was not good service.

I am an obsessive roast person and not many dinners meet my expectations, but the Slanted Door exceed! Delicious, thank you x

What to say . We arrived for lunch on the 5th not knowing what to expect . What a surprise . the tapas style food was some of the best tastes I have ever had . Reminded me of watching MasterChef and thinking I would love to taste that . well, we just did . each plate was fantastic . You must try the . A beautiful restaurant, right on the banks of the river. Wonderful cocktails and an amazing wine list! The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding. A truly memorable experience and worth every penny!

A really wonderful dining experience. My vegan meal was absolutely amazing….and I rarely say that about a restaurant vegan meal. There were only 2 vegan options but I’d definitely recommend the Cajun tofu with mushrooms. Delicious. Thank you!
