Horrific service Worst customer service I've ever had Food ordered at 5.22 called at 6.22 to ask where it was we were told it wouldn't be long Called again at 6.45 and told it was going in the bath right now and then leaving We called again at 7.15 to be told it was on its way and won't be long We called again at 7.45 as we were concerned our food had now been on its way for 1 hour and would be cold We spoke to a very aggressive woman on the phone who sighed continuously and said we were lying she didn't say it was on its way until 7.15 almost 2 hours after ordered She raised her voice sighed and argued with me after lying Noo apology was offered for the time we have waited or the confusion on when the order left Would not recommend ordering it's now almost 8pm and we still have no food

Used sky kitchen as it was nearby & need something quick, soon realised why I don’t use here since it changed hands! All the products seem good & fresh but they overcook everything. My ribs had nice flavour but was like chewing bark! Spring rolls again just deep fried far too long! Beef chow mein also overcooked & mushy. Honestly think this place could be good. Boil the ribs then gently fry in the flavour, stir fry the chow mein quickly & fast don’t boil it down to mush! Sorry but gave this place a few chances & its always the same

Waited two hours for our takeaway. Was cold and pretty inedible. Look elsewhere, don’t take the risk

Disgusting got delivery who drove round block 4 times before he found us no71 which is next to 69 🤔sent back promised fresh was cold 35 pound later never again sharon promised fresh meal and also called my husband baldy b*****d

Ordered a meal to be delivered at 7.10pm at the back of 6pm. Order confirmation was sent. I then had to phone to chase order up at 745pm as still no delivery? To be told that my order had not even been started ! No phone call to advise the paying customer of this , absolutely shocking customer service when you phone to complain either.

Strange place. We ordered two sauces; one curry & one BBQ. When we got home we noticed we had a chilli instead of curry, so we phoned up and got told we could come down and pick up a curry sauce. When we got there, they asked if we brought the chilli back… Why would they ask for it back… Were they hoping to serve it to someone else…? Strange.

This was rank....just tasted of salt...beef curry should be called salt curry..chips should be called salt...crispy chicken should be crispy salt...If you have a salt deficiency then this is the place for you...otherwise avoid like the plague.

Tried this take away tonight, and so disappointed. Ordered Lemon Chicken with boiled rice and Sweet and Sour Chicken with fried rice. The Lemon Chicken was as tough as old boots and clearly not fresh. My husband couldn't eat his meal either as it was the same. We won't be back.

Deep fried beef in chilli sauce, cremated beef and a sauce that was absolutely disgusting. Sweet and sour Chicken balls ok as was the hot and sour soup. But we made the mistake of adding the beef to our plate and it made it almost inedible. It was almost like the beef was re cooked. Never again, will go back to Ying in Balerno .

Had a takeaway from Sky Kitchen with family and the food was terrible, it was inedible and went in the bin . We won’t be going back!

Have used this take away for years and always had great food and great service - however, the latest ownership change has resulted in a major drop in service levels - tonight, for instance, the chef/owner went home to drive a family member somewhere so they didn't have to catch a bus - meanwhile his customers are left waiting for him to decide they are worth bothering about. It's a shame but we won't be using them again.

Have been waiting for over 2hrs for this meal, not worth the money paid, curry sauce very salty, lemon chicken poor portion and tasted like chemicals?? Upside soft noodles ok. Will not be returning.

So the delivery platform they use is a joke I ordered got told it would be 50 mins and still waiting for it I phoned sky kitchen to be told that the driver had delivered it and someone had answered the door and they were remaking it be here I am still waiting.

Twice I’ve ordered delivery from here and not be ordering again! Twice I’ve ordered and both times came without curry sauce, called up and all I got was bad attitude and wouldn’t replace my meal as it would have been cold by the time they delivery driver came all the way back with the curry sauce! Food was bogging, duck and pancakes tasted of rotten fish was so bad I ended up driving up and sat food on counter and told them to keep it. No offer or refund either.

Changed ownership. Food not up to what it use to be. After using them for years we have now stop using.

I have mixed reviews about Sky Kitchen . I have used for years and food and selection always been really good and never had cause to complain. I know it has changed ownership recently but ordered takeaway for delivery a few weeks ago and was really good . Unfortunately ordered again tonight at 5.15pm and was told would be 30mins was still waiting at 6.30 ! Ordered salt and spicy chicken wings which were overcooked and dry then duck in plum sauce with fried rice . Rice was nice but duck was tough with soggy fat and plum sauce was so congealed it was like plum jam and could not eat ! Really disappointed !! Just put in bin and rice and duck were in one huge congealed lump ! Maybe just a bad night but doesn't fill me with confidence to order again !

Great service, good food, we were on our first day of our roadtrip through Scotland and we stayed on a camping park. It was a though day and we needed something to eat, the Sky Kitchen was able to take an order through Google. (Because we couldn't order by phone) And they were happy to deliver it to our campsite. Another thanks, loved the food alot!

Enjoyed a meal with family from Sky Kitchen in early July 2022 (a Friday night). Superb amount of choice on the menu, food hot when we collected our order, reasonably priced and polite, friendly service with a smile. Our order choices were delicious and the portion sizes were excellent. I ordered tofu with mixed vegetables & cashew nuts as my main (as tofu is my favourite and it isn't available at every Chinese takeaway, I was a very happy bunny!), my family chose meat dishes. Altogether, 3 happy adults! We had enough in leftovers to eat cold for lunch the following day, too 😋 Thank you very much. Will be happy to order from them again in the future.

Ordered a takeaway meal for delivery - unfortunately after a lengthy wait for the food there were a number of items missing from our order, and what did arrive was very average. The big annoyance, however, was that when I tried to call back to advise that we were missing food, the phone line was engaged for over an hour before I finally got through. We had previously ordered from Sky Kitchen and were very pleased, however this was before a recent change in ownership - sadly I think we will not be ordering again.

AWFUL I don't do alot of reviews as I understand some places can have a bad day due to many situations. I don't do Chinese takeaways and know this one has a bad history!! BUT my friends turned up with one from this place and it was seriously nasty. How can they get away this?!? People please don't give this place your cash, just don't

U phoned an order in and went to collect as agreed. I waited another 15 mins and still no food. Turned out the order hadn't gone to the kitchen. While I was waiting a man came in and said his food was the worst ever. I left with no food. The restaurant didn't appear clean with flies on the window ledge. I won't be back

Had a take Away last night excellent fresh food pipping hot will be using the take away again the first nice Chinese take away I truly enjoyed

We have been going to Sky Kitchen for a number of years now and have always enjoyed our meals but the meal we had tonight which is what we would normally order was terrible, tasteless over cooked rice and had to go in the bin! You have just lost a previously valued customer.

Can no longer offer the full menu under new management & can't take card payment over the phone..cash on delivery only now. Food: Just stirring in basic sweet chilli sauce to noodles and chicken is nowhere near what hot and spicy chicken noodles are. Made the dish inedible. Sad end to what was decent takeaway.

Great selection of authentic Chinese food. Much prefer Sky Kitchen to others, avoiding the usual overly salty takeaways you find elsewhere. Fantastic and thoroughly recommend.

Careful if you have a gluten allergy. Ordered a Chinese from Sky kitchen phoned them up to ask what she could have. She is now being sick and is quite unwell. SO BE VERY CAREFUL

We get a takeaway most Friday nights and I meet 2 different friends there twice a month to sit in and ALWAYS get fabby food both takeaway and sit in with great service. Cannot fault it .

I phoned the restaurant to order my food, a man picked up the phone and once I started to speak I was hung up on. Very rude and won’t be ordering from them again.

This restaurant in East Calder has excellent food and very friendly staff both as sit in and carry out. We recently stayed at the Linwater Caravan site which is only a short distance from the Sky Kitchen so we used it a lot for both sit in and carry out meals. We were never disappointed. The standard of food was first class and the staff were friendly and helpful. Give it a try I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

A lovely place serving a very nice selection of food.

Really disappointed in takeaway food bought on Saturday. Arrived one hour late. Spare ribs were hard, duck was hard, pancakes were doughy and tasted uncooked. Even the cat wouldn't eat it. Most went in the bin. Ate the prawn crackers and seaweed!

We used to visit here lots when we lived locally. They had lovely waiting staff and it was a slick, friendly, pleasant experince. Now they do not have any and rely in a overworked lady front of house also taking phone calls for take away order and an extremely abrupt chef who needs some manners. A couple of waiting staff with manners, and table etiquette would have made such a difference. We ended up being given a pad and pen and told to write out our own order ... for 6 of us. So did neighbouring Table. Actually were not asked to do this, the pad and pen were thrown into the table and we were told. We battled to get some glasses water and a coke. Our starter arrived about an hour later and at different times. One person had to eat theirs on their own. Main courses arrived at 1 hour 45 minutes. We had really lost the will to eat by then. The food was not presented to us, but thrown down onto the table for us to work out whose was whose. Shoddy. They were really busy in take aways but those eating in definitely took second place. Its a shame. Some if the food not bad but the overall experience was awful. Such a shame. A potential gold mine, and I'm sure they make lots of money as they're not paying for staff. But they need to. Need to improve and be rather like they were 4-5 years ago.

I don't understand how this has 4 stars. My "chilli" honey chicken was just in watered down honey, my rice was stale and the ribs were just fat. The only good thing was the chicken roll. Hoping it was just a bad day but ordered late Friday which should be a busy time so to have dinner like this wasn't great. Might give another chance due to the good comments but don't have much hope. I should add food came in 15 mins which was good but meant everything was just rushed. I'd rather wait longer for good food

I have used this restraunt many times for take away. Always police and courtious. I usually phone first then collect food always ready when I arrive. Food is of excellant quality especially the chicken curry. Happy to recommend

Easy, JUST DON'T! I wouldn't ever have a takeaway from any of these places. Witnessed my daughters takeaway and from now on I will pay her not to go back. Go to a proper Chinese restaurant if you want Chinese food. These places are awful

I don't go anywhere else.food is great and the staff always friendly. Whether I pop in on my way home for work or or order over the phone can't rate it high enough. Never had any issues at all.

Called to order a take away that we would pick up, got shouted at by a male who answered, hung up on us 3 time's, finally took our order and we paid over the phone, daughter went to pick up order and was told she had to pay, told we had already paid, shouted at her that we hadn't paid then check and realised we HAD paid.wont be ordering from there again and would advise anyone to go elsewhere.

Ordered a tame away for 5 people. Was told they were not busy and should be with us shortly. Waited over 90mins. when the food came it was it was lukewarm and the quality was poor.

The crowd waiting on food said it all. We had a big order and had to wait about 30 mins and in that time the phone was ringing off the hook and plenty people coming in.

This restaurant/ take away is one to stay clear of the food is average but the decor is cheap and nasty and grubby. If I had went to the restroom before eating I would have walked out the toilets were filthy. I think if they can't clean where the customers see then what's the kitchen like.

The Sky Kitchen is a little way outside East Calder but the trip is worthwhile. The menu is varied and interesting. The food is well-cooked, reasonably priced and speedily prepared.

We've had several takeaways from here, and with the exception of one that seemed a bit lacking in meat one Saturday night the food is pretty good.

It's a Chinese.... that's about it....

Very convenient for us, 5 minute walk. Bring your own bottle with free corkage is fine. Restaurant is always quiet, think its mainly used for take away. Always get fantastic service, food is always amazing

We normally love this place , last night however my vegetable curry was basically onions and 2 mushrooms done in a very watery curry sauce , My sons beef in green pepper and black bean sauce was horrible too We won’t be back

This small Chinese restaurant, with take-away counter, is on the outskirts of East Calder, next to a little auto dealership. Unfortunately we arrived early on a Friday evening, just in time for the mad rush of take-away orders. We were the only people seated in the clean, gently-lit dining room. The menu is extensive and typically Chinese, but with some spicy Szechuan dishes too.

Four of us turned up on spec and we were made really welcome by our humorous host. The meals arrived quickly and were delicious, service was quick and the food was piping hot. Good value for money, highly recommended!

Having had generally ok experiences with two other local Chinese takeaways we were reminded of the Sky Kitchen on the way back from the local garden centre in East Calder (wee plug for J&R; Veitch, very knowledgeable staff and they also have a coffee shop that does breakfasts and lunches). After working in the garden all day in the evening we plumped for a takeaway.
