The worst Chicken burger ever 🤮, I ordered 2 supposedly char grilled chicken burger x2, OMG !!! What turned up was a boiled chicken anaemic chicken breast that has not see any sight of a grill at all, on the plate was a few chips a small bun with the horrible boiled chicken breast, not appealing at all, no little salad on the plate to make it look at least a bit better, I just couldn’t eat it !! What has happened in this place, you used to do a decent meal once upon a time but not anymore, even the fish and chips has gone down hill and all you get is a bit of fish stuck in a huge amount of batter, I said after the previous meal I wouldn’t eat there again and made the huge mistake of trying the chicken burger 🤮 never again will I eat here, come on pull your socks up and get back to how you used to be as this is a poor show

Gents toilets filthy, puddles of urine on floor cubicles dirty, this is not one off I regularly find this here. Unlike other wetherspoons always a credit to the company.

I would say this is one of the best wetherspoons in the area

All staff looked miserable apart from a young man who brought the food to the table. We were served at the bar by the manager who was abrupt and very matter of fact was certainly not made to feel welcome and I certainly will not be going in again also food was tasteless and that's the best I can say about it

We stopped here on a journey down the M6 instead of using the motorway service area. It's a massive pub that has the normal great Wetherspoons menu with something for everyone. The pub was clean and tidy, and food came quickly, especially when ordering on the app. Everyth was hot and well cooked.

Had food & drinks in here often. Food & service is always good, staff are pleasant. Disappointed today that 2 young women were vaping inside nearby while we were eating. Could do with more signs or staff enforcing no smoking/vaping. This isn't the first time I've seen it here.

Great staff, but unfortunately it's a Wetherspoons so the usual bland branding and despite a nice outdoor area, they don't allow even the most well behaved dogs because their CEO has a grudge against them.

Food ok and always new beers on promotion.

Busy after the races but still good food and service.

Just been for our first visit. Great BIG Spoons this. Food was superb as was drinks! Can’t go wrong at all!!!! Deff going back again :)

Best Panini out of all spoons I've been and I've been a few. Turned up on race day but still got a table. Sat in a little side room with a fire on 🔥. Parking behind is free if you spend £5 in spoons or big car park next to it free

Great wetherspoons depends on when you go....if Wigan FC or Wigan RFC are at home or there is racing at Haydock. It can make for an interesting afternoon

Had a lovely meet-up with friends. Using the app meant we didn't have to go queuing up at the bar ordering drinks and food. Enjoyed our food too.

I enjoyed a veggie breakfast with hot drinks and a pint of real ale for under a tenner. Not very busy when I visited on a Monday morning, but the welcome sun made sitting in the beer garden quite pleasant.

Rowdy even on a weeknight , food was good , hot , tasty , make sure you ask for the drink included in some meals or you'll not get it and they'll charge extra for one .

Great local Pub, with a good atmosphere

Been here a number of times for breakfast and it was lovely. Great value and fast service.

The quality of the breakfast has definitely slipped since the pandemic. The bacon is wafer thin but still tasty. I thought that only Macdonald's could cut it so thin. Having said that, it was still tasty,hot and good value for money. The food has improved and was hot. It was surprisingly quiet for a Tuesday at 9:30.

Ordered £30s worth food and some soft drinks, burger was vegan by mistake, i asked to have the patty swapped for a beef one, this was refused and we had to be told it’s our fault so they’re not liable and they won’t help us in any way. After that a teenage lad member of staff comes to our table to then further explain how it’s our fault (which was unessasary) I said alright then and he then called us both rude and seemed to have a problem. customer Service and food is terrible, I wouldn’t come again even without the bad experience I wouldn’t eat here again as the food quality alone was terrible.

It's a decent pub. Always got s few in and decent atmosphere. The beer is good. I didn't have any food so I couldn't comment on that but seems a reasonable and lively enough pub to go to either for a quiet pint or for a weekend drink. Also the toilets are not up a single flight of stairs. This may be a shock but it's true they are actually located on the ground floor and in weatherspoon term that's quite a achievement. Enjoy you drinks and time spent here

ABSOLUTLY DISCUSTED WITH THE STAFF AND MANAGER, they charged me three times on my order , and couldn't refund me apparently because the till was so called down when they was using them , i had to leave my personal details with them which i was not happy about and its going to take a week to refund , apparently the member of staff who served me has done this lots of times the tables are filthy and the pub stinks and the food is not good at all i was missing half of my mixed grill when it arrived. i am going to put trading standards on there case because it is not fair on the people of Ashton in Makerfield

Had a meal here couldn't have steak on steak night No steak, couldn't have Tuna jacket potato No jacket potatoes, my sister in law had whitby Scampi it was like a children's portion 4 scampi's on her plate !!!.

Only had hot drinks. Seems OK staff friendly enough worked hard to keep it tidy

It was busy but then again I expected it to be on a Saturday evening.

Very average. Note to cooking staff: Don't put warm beans on a cold plate. We had breakfast and coffee.

The parking is a bit messy if you've not been to the area before but we figured it out in the end. The food was delicious and the servers were polite and helpful.

I used to go here all the time but it's seriously gone downhill in the last twelve months. Service was poor. Staff look miserable. Food was below average. There is no atmosphere . It's like being in a morgue. I won't be back anytime soon.

I got a little more than I expected here. Let's just say it's a very friendly place. Great atmosphere, food & beer. I loved it.

Foods ok.... The place is ok... The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We'll be back in the near future.

Had the mixed grill. Was decent enough. The steak was really tasty. Far too many peas though for me. Prices are great for what you get. Service was quick and friendly.

First visit. Mix grill plentiful tasty well presented. Friendly atmosphere and polite helpful staff. Sandro the manager came over was professional with an engaging demeanour and made me feel very welcome. Will be returning for sure. Reasonable prices added bonus of course. Thanks Paul

Recently change bloomer bread for white thick sliced .toast etc very dry not a patch on bloomer bread slices saying its a trial ?so go to Costa for better .

Nice little pub to pass a couple of hours before racing at Haydock. Good beer garden ( weather permitting) Food usual standard for a wetherspoon. The thing that spoklscthis venue is the loos, Really need to freshen the toilets ( absolute stench )

First time back in a Spoons since the CEO sacked all his staff during Covid. It was very good, we just went for drinks. Felt safe. Good bar staff.

Good food, used to like the Sunday Roast wish they could bring it back, also loved the burritos Good choice of real ales. Too many high tables with stools all over the place, need to get ordinary tables and chairs in bar area I feel.

Great vfm as always good veggie choice small outdoor space,friendly staff,always busy it would have 5* if they allowed dogs!!!

The disabled toilet is disgusting, disabled people and parents of babies are expected to use this toilet when it obviously needs a good deep clean and and a lick of paint. Do they actually know people like this have low immune systems and are more prone to picking infections up.

Usual Spoons although prices...as everywhere, slowly going up....

The food was not great we had a breakfast that had more oil than shell and the black pudding came out 15 mins after the rest of the food and was burnt solid like a hockey puck, a shame because we gave it a second chance as last time they dropped my toast on the floor and put it back on the plate as they thought I hadn't seen it 😞

Visited on Saturday afternoon around 4pm after doing a little browsing + shopping I hadn't been to Ashton for a v long time but ventured out as it was a lovely day I went in Wetherspoons for a rest and a quick pint as usually Wetherspoons pubs are welcoming and v reasonably priced. I wasn't disappointed. The service was excellent and l easily found a table nr the window. There were quite a few people inside and in the rear garden which looked very welcoming, but it wasn't crowded. l would go there again -- no problem 😊

Staff were fantastic and the food was hot, tasty and well presented. Been back today for 'Fish Friday', it was really good. Staff all still friendly and helpful. There are 3 Wetherspoons close to us than Ashton, but we still make the journey over. Great staff and food and again, hot food served on hot plates. It isn't rocket science, so why don't all Wetherspoons adopt this practice like Ashton?

This is my local spoons and I just went in as the Guinness was on offer.Extremely busy as it was Friday evening but the staff was very busy so it took a while to get served,but it eased after the initial rush but a lot of the tables still had empty glasses on them even though there was relatively few people waiting to get served

Quality pub with great food and a wide selection of food. We didn't wait too long either which was nice as it was quite busy at the time

We only go here around breakfast time for coffee and breakfast and I must say the food is always great and it's still decent value for money despite the price increases
