After finding a lovely table under the heat lamps we were told we had to move to accommodate a new large booking…..not acceptable (they also moved lots of other people)

Poor but friendly service. Nice location and interesting menu but this kitchen has major issues. This rating is borderline of being to generous.

We had a lovely evening here last night. Firstly, it is dog friendly and the 2 boys got lots of attention from staff and guests. Secondly, Dean, the guy behind the bar on the terrace was a right character. Fun and a good laugh!

My husband and I found this place while we were strolling around Canary Wharf tonight. The atmosphere was really cute; however, the food was not. The highlight of the meal was the grilled bread and butter. We started off with the prawn cocktail which was an amalgamation of ketchup, mayonnaise and god knows what mixed with some round tiny shrimp with one large prawn added to the side of the bowl. It was inedible. I had their pasta with shrimp and pesto. The shrimp were much better than the cocktail, but the pasta was bland and under seasoned. The waiter was pretty new and not familiar with the menu so not helpful with suggestions. My husband had the chicken sandwich which was just ok. For $111pounds with 2 drinks each and that food, I won't be back.

Sorry to say this is not what it was, very poor service, food very poor (my pasta dish was watery and skimpy and served on a cold plate, my friend's salad was also skimpy and served on a warm plate). Have been before but am afraid this is my last visit. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area so do yourself a favour and skip this one.

We went on the Bank Holiday and it wasn’t that busy but some how they had run out of a lot of starters by 1400 and then when we ordered or mains (roasts) they came back to say these had now sold out too. Service was incredibly slow for both food and drinks and no real apologies or attentiveness even when we raised this. The food was very average. Decor is lovely and toilets are clean but that is my only positive. I would not recommend and would not come back, which is a shame as it’s a beautiful venue

Where do I begin, I’d like to warn people from the start please do not waste your money or time on this place. We visited as a birthday treat for my daughter, first impressions were quite a nice surroundings although hardly any customers on a very pleasant day Sunday afternoon which was very strange. The waiter arrived at our table and advised that at least 3 of the 6 starters on the menu were not available and this was at 1pm. Then our drinks were delivered to the table and we had to send back twice as some were incorrect. The bar staff, including the manager seemed more interested in having a chilled out day, chatting amongst themselves rather than dealing with any customers, hence why all orders seemed to be incorrect. Around this time the waiter (won’t mention any names as not fair) was having a conversation by our table with the manager stating that he did not want to be here (at work) which was completely unproffesional.. The food was appalling and does not reflect the price at all. At this point we were looking around for cameras expecting that we were on some type of prank gameshow as it all just seemed to be getting out of hand and such a very poor run overpriced restaurant. Don’t get me wrong I will spend any amount of money on food if it’s worthy, unfortunately this was as above mentioned appalling. When the plates were cleared the dirty cutlery fell on our coats which left stains on them which was just another thing that went wrong. Finally we had, had enough and asked for the bill, paid the bill and then requested to see the manager who promptly disappeared around the back of the restaurant not to be seen again!! Another gentleman visited the table who was one of two managers which was strange having two managers for an empty restaurant. I explained how disappointed we were about the whole experience and all he could say was I’m sorry about that before he quickly disappeared as well. He was just not interested. Please please do not waste your time or money on this place, it is bad.

Brilliant service in beautiful surroundings. We sat outside in a corner. It was lovely, sheltered & you could look out over Canary Wharf. Went inside for the loo & the interior restaurant was really stunning. The toilets were super clean as well. The food & drink prices were really good value as was the portion sizes. My friend had the fish finger sandwich & fries, it was huge. I had the chicken Caesar salad with a side order of padron peppers to share. Would certainly want to come again when I’m back in London.

We were so disappointed with our food today. We were drawn into the restaurant by the lovely gardens and the staff were pretty helpful and attentive . We ordered duck bao buns and a sharing platter . The buns were tasty enough but the actual buns were hard on the base and not soft . The sharing platter was so disappointing . There was a small scoop of humous , a huge pile of bland couscous , beetroot that had no taste some pickled something that wasn’t great and a few sun dried tomatoes . It was dry and tasteless . We asked for additional humous and a dressing which we were given but for the money our lunch cost us this was very poor . I hope maybe the usual chef was off or there was an explanation but I would definitely not go back here . Sorry .

We visited on a sunny afternoon in March. The pub itself is set by the dock and looked busy so we chose to drink here as it looked popular. We sat outside and a member of our party went in to order drinks as the outside bar was closed. After 15 minutes of waiting, another member of our party went to find out what the hold up was. Only once person was serving at the bar, the queue inside was massive. Staff were stood around doing not alot other than waiting on the tables. (They really could of helped out) It was very much the case of "that's not my job" Won't be coming back here I'm afraid

We have returned to the The Sipping Room after a long time, although our last experience hasn’t been really pleasant Our group were sat down in one of the tables. We had to ask one of the staff members to give us another table far away from the fan. Being told that he’s not sure if he allowed to move us. After a few minutes, the gentleman comes over and apologises and offered us multiple options in the restaurant. After we have been sat down, he has offered us some water and introduce himself, and told us that the waiter will be coming over soon, unless we are are ready to order some drinks with him. The drinks ordered and served by Alex, were really nice and I totally recommend their signature cocktails. The food has arrived quickly and we were really happy with it. Incredible service and we were speechless when it comes about his professionalism, attention to details and funny. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and polite. He was sharing some stories about the place. Unfortunately we missed him last summer. The drinks recommendations by Alex and and the Salmon roasted potatoes, the steaks and the risotto served with chicken was delicious. My wife and were impressed by how one person can turn the place around and make it look so special for everyone. We are planing to return soon as we haven’t expected such an experience in Drake and Morgan Restaurants. Thank you for looking after us with such care Alex!! See you soon.

Shocking food. The chef struggled to cook steak and at £30 that’s disappointing. I sent it back and the second steak was equally rubbish. Overcooked, overpriced. Chips were cheap oven chip. Just awful. Avoid

Lovely venue, great atmosphere. But unfortunately slow in getting food and food for some of our group wasn’t to their taste. On a good note however our waitress for the evening was excellent, which for me was the reason I enjoyed my experience with there good manner and helpfulness towards our issues in the evening we felt the sincerity and could see the effort she put in to make sure our evening was still a good one so for that I say Thank you Mariola.

The atmosphere is very nice however the food presentation was not up to standard. The batter on the fish had a burnt chip embedded in it. The lemon slice was inside the ketchup.

Great location within historic grade 1 listed building in West India Quay London. Lots of choice whether it’s just a drink or to dine. Staff welcoming and friendly. Decor attractive and the ambience inviting all set within a building with character. Can enjoy dining inside or out on the terrace with views of the docks and sky scraper buildings, Tables all set attractively. We are very much looking forward to returning and dining soon within the upcoming winter igloos.

Went to The Sipping Room for my mums 74th birthday, didn’t start out well as don’t like ordering through a barcode, food was a wait and wasn’t piping hot when served however the staff work extremely hard to accommodate all of the people being seated. Anton the manager of our section was running around trying to make sure everyone was happy with the service being provided. Overall a good experience due to the staff more than anything else. Thank you Anton Happy Birthday for Monday 🎂

Our third event in Canary Wharf but the first time in the Drake & Morgan Group Canary Wharf. Sometimes we are going for the ones in the City as they are closer to our offices. They have the youngest and best qualified event manager compared to the rest of the venues we are usually go. His name is a bit long, so I’ll say Alex. We had to book an area, so we’ve decided to try The Sipping Room. We wanted a nice area on the terrace, but they were fully booked, Alex has took our details and asked us to wait for a few minutes to see if he could accommodate us. Really apologetic, he said that only the indoors space is available with no cost upfront only suggesting a pre-order to avoid waiting at the bar. On arrival he mentioned that he understands how much we wanted outdoors so he apologised again that the area might be too small but he managed to squeeze us on the terrace and provided a waitress to look after us including himself. The service was excellent and quick, the staff were really friendly. My guests were so thrilled that they can enjoy the sunshine. Definitely returning in September!!! Thank you Alex!

I have been drinking in this place for some time, great location, modern and clean exterior and interior with an excellent selection of drinks. However, its main failing I have found on numerous occasions has been the lack of staff on hand, forever waiting to be served, tables not cleared or cleaned etc. Well not on my last visit, Dean was attentive, engaging and friendly and provided a service that was impeccable. The key here is that he is not just simply making drinks as requested but he is creating a personalised experience for each customer going above and beyond. I could drink anywhere but I would come here for the experience and pay for that level of service again and again. Don't take Dean for granted he is doing an amazing job.
