The Ship Inn in East Riding of Yorkshire

Después de caminar un par de horas alrededor de la costa de Flamboroughs era hora de comer y beber. (Bueno, uno debe mantenerse hidratado). Llamamos al Ship Inn para almorzar y un par de pintas. Podría decirse que por dentro se ve un poco cansado pero compensado por una amable bienvenida de Yorkshire. Pedí un bistec patatas fritas n guisantes con una salsa rica. Mi compañero pidió la Lasaña. Para acortar una larga historia. No queda nada que raspar de los platos. Generosas porciones no dejaron espacio para Desert. Nos gustó tanto que reservamos para el domingo carvery al día siguiente. Una selección de 3 carnes (nosotros plomeamos para cerdo y carne de res). Nunca podrías quejarte por no comer suficiente carne. Generosas porciones. Incluso elección de salsa. Con o sin cebolla. ¡Hicimos un cerdo de nosotros mismos! Me temo que lo hicimos y nos encantó todo. Si volvemos a bajar por ese cuello del bosque seguro que volveremos a llamar.

No es un pub turístico. No nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos. Sin duda atendía a los habituales. No cenamos pero viendo lo que había en oferta no queríamos. Dale una falta.

We were staying at the nearby Haven holiday park and wanted a walk out. This pub was one of the nearest (about 0.7m). We called ahead to check it was dog friendly (it is), and booked a table. We were also told it was our night. There was a selection of pie’s along with a choice of veg, chips, mashed potatoes and you could pile as high as you wanted. It was absolutely lovely, the onion gravy was scrummy, as were the chunky chips and mushy peas. Based on this I bet they do a fabulous Sunday lunch also. The girls serving us in the restaurant area were also lovely.

Really varied menu to suit all tastes , good service , well cooked presented , tasty food , we will be back in the future on a regular basis

Went for a meal last night and we were amazed at the extensive menu, the quality of the food and the price is absolutely incredible. The staff are very friendly and very obliging. It was a really lovely evening and we will definitely return.

Excellent Carvery Sunday lunch: 3 meats; choice of 7 veg; 2 types of potatoes and nice touch of 2 different gravies. Clean efficient service. Will definitely return.

Yet again, an absolutely fantastic meal, dropped in with the family on new year's day, had a wonderful carvery, cannot knock it, in fact craving it I should say, excellent and friendly service, spot on, it's a must.

We called here on a Sunday afternoon and all that was on offer food wise was a sunday carvery. Not our favourite, as they are rarely good and this was no exception. The food was ok but it was barely warm. The only hot part of the meal was the complimentary sponge pudding, which was lovely. Staff were very friendly though, and I would return, just not on a sunday.

Love coming here at least once a week fabulous friendly helpful staff staff the food is always amazing the weekly offers are brilliant thank you so much for 5star xx

It's hard to argue with a £5 a meal menu, but it just wasn't for us. Felt, and tasted, like school dinners. Sadly Flamborough lacked any real sort of restaurant and we ended up here. I won't say much more as I just think we weren't a good fit for this venue and would be unfair to review it as what we'd expected. Stayed locally but not local to the area.

Service was quick and staff friendly. We all really enjoyed our meals which were home-cooked and reasonably priced. Our daughter has food allergies and staff were more than happy to help check which meals were sage for her to have.

Fantastic £5 meal on Monday. Managed to get a table in the bar as the restaurant was fully booked (I’m not surprised though!). Monday they do a £5 meal menu - 4 of us all had something different and they were all lovely! It wouldn’t have been worth staying home to cook. Lovely friendly staff and really efficient service.

Good pub food. Great play ground for kids and close to the wonderful flamborough. Something for everyone and a good specials board.

My husband and I were a bit nervous about coming here as it wasn't as busy as the other places in the area but we had no need to be and it soon filled up. I had the sirloin steak with stilton sauce and it was cooked perfectly medium just how I asked, the chips were homemade and delcious and the onion rings had lovely crispy batter. My husband had the hunters chicken burger and said it was very nice too. The only negative is the portion sizes are huge so we couldn't finish it (you won't go hungry!). Thought it was a little bit strange to pay for the food first but it's not the first place we've been to that does that. Staff were really friendly and attentive - highly recommend!

We visited The Ship on a Thursday evening which is grill night, we had 2 x creamy garlic mushrooms with garlic bread starters, one rump steak and a bacon cheeseburger all for an amazing £20. The food was perfectly cooked, hot and quick to arrive, we really couldn’t fault it. The waitress was very friendly and served us with a smile and a chat. The dining room was clean and spacious. I would really recommend visiting this place 10/10… oh and the bar serves a lovely pint of Farmers Blonde!

We went in today 03/10/20 there was 7 of us all family members we were asked to sit at different tables to abide by the social distancing rules 4 on one 3 on the other which we obviously adhered to. My dad who was sat on the other table asked us if we wanted a drink and we was told we could not talk to each other! Since when does freedom of speech come into this! I was disgusted and asked how is that is right she then proceeded to tell me that she didn't make the rules and seen as we were not prepared to go by the rules she wudnt serve us! Hence to say I walked out fuming.. no one will tell me who I can talk to if that was the case how do people communicate at work or in the community? The attitude of the young girl was disgusting and I for one will never give them my custom again. The social distancing rule states u can not interact with others ie meaning standing or going to sit with others in the pub which I totally respect, but never will i be told I can't speak or communicate with my own family on the next table! So if u want to venture to this pub prepare yourself not to speak to anyone!! What a joke disgusting
