First time of visiting this Pub which was saved by the Community. Food was excellent as was the people serving the food and drinks. The Place had a friendly and great atmosphere.

We recently had our wedding reception here and it was perfect. Tony, Angela and the team were amazing and Angela especially, worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best day. The marquee was beautifully decorated and the food was fabulous, catering effortlessly with all our differing dietary requirements. Thank you all so much for helping make our day so special. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Ship 🥰

Marvellous! Marvellous and one more for the luck this pub most definitely deserves - Marvellous! Oh, very rarely do I feel so at home in a pub, but The Ship manages this with ease. What is it? The friendly atmosphere? Yes! The wonderful selection of beers? Yes! The helpful staff where nothing is too much trouble? Yes! The comfortable and tasteful decor? Yes! It's seldom I fall in love with a pub but this was definitely love at first pint. Five stars indeed.

Called in to this lovely pub on the way home from the Tendring show and we were welcomed by a lovely lady tending the bar. We didn't realize until we looked it up that it was owned by the community! Just to give a Big thumbs up to them all, it's a smashing pub with lots of choice of beers etc and very friendly.

How good to see this previously closed pub reopen as a community enterprise! The volunteer staff know what they are about and make everyone feel very welcome. Hot food offers coming soon apparently.

Lovely village pub, that allows dogs. VERY CLEAN FACILITIES. Good selection of drinks. Didn't eat but will do next time. Very cheap prices for sandwiches and sausage rolls. Think I heard they may be doing other food from April. Looking forward to revisiting.

Really lovely pub owned by the community & service provided by some very friendly, welcoming staff who have shares in the establishment. Rustic, comfortable decor with clean toilet facilities & inviting garden. There is also ample parking. There is a range of entertainment inc. Live music, quiz evenings & forthcoming Christmas Carol singing.

Had a quick visit last night as shareholders of this community venture are allowed to view during their bar training nights. Was impressed by the standard of work carried out by the volunteers and the overall appearance. It gives a wonderful warm welcoming feeling in comfortable surroundings and furnishing. Has a great bar and large rear seated beer garden and is located at the junction of Manor Road and Rectory road Great Holland.

Although I haven't visited this pub, I'm giving it 5 stars, as it has been reopened as a community pub thanks to local people investing in it, and working hard to get it reopened. Due to open 9 October 21.

Had a great afternoon with 35 family and friends at the Ship with excellent buffet food and drink and friendly helpful staff. We had use of a small marquee and there was plenty of outdoor space for the younger generation to run around in.

Reservamos una mesa para 10 y eran muy complacientes. La opción en el menú era una buena gama de opciones. Después de la comida nos trasladamos alrededor del lado del pub para tomar una copa. Todas las facturas eran pagados y llevamos en nuestra noche.

Más de comida a precios razonables, alguien tenía que pagar por la nueva decoración! Una buena selección de bebidas, extraño entorno, Medio de zona residencial, mejores lugares junto al mar. Diabólica parking, tuve que aparcar en la carretera, no había tanta gente, a estrecho aparcamiento en frente de pub y no jardín privado para uso de los nietos.

very good food my mum and i had the Camembert to start we shared the portion. and the burgers for mains. good service an inside of refurbished pub very nice and clean fresh looking toilets

Tras una reforma reciente, decidí probar el Manor y reservamos una mesa para cuatro personas, @ 8.30 en un sábado por la noche.

¡Guau! Qué transformación. Cuando entras te puedes imaginar un montón de tiempo y esfuerzo en hacer de este lugar moderno, limpio y acogedor. La cerveza está bien cuidado. El personal era extremadamente amable y servicial. No he probado la comida, pero no puedo esperar hasta que pueda. Ojalá el nuevo terratenientes todos los mejores. Bien hecho de verdad. Una visita obligada para todos los pub

We had been to The Ship for food before it was changed to The Manor and was not impressed to say the least but now under the new name and new management what a difference. We went for a meal on their opening day. My partner had salmon and haddock fish cakes and I had a steak. Excellent. The staff were cheerful and attentive and the food was good. I shall certainly be back.

This completely revamped pub opened inn the middle of June. Wonderful decor with marvellous solid oak bar carved from a locally felled oak tree.Family run establishment and all produce served is sourced locally.Chef is ex Cafe 19 in Connaught Avenue, Frinton and has compiled excellent menu and wine list.Dined here on Tuesday and can confirm that standard of food and service were excellent.Good selection of beers.Parking easy.Outside seating in newly created garden.

Visited here with family and enjoyed lovely meal. Food was excellent as was the service. Excellent value. The restaurant is lovely but quite small so you need to book.

I have to say that all the reviews on this site are old ones, this pub has new management from March 2015,and from the attitude of the new manager and appearance of the dinning room I would not recommend this venue to anybody

We ate twice at the Ship inn. Both times we found the staff helpful and accommodating. The first on a Sunday evening having phoned ahead they seated 9 of us quiet late in the evening and at very short notice. The second time and due to our party having 4 vegetarians the chef was good enough to prepare food of the menu. What more can you say. Each time the food was to a great standard with good portion sizes.

Had a Sunday roast it was discusting .It was supposed to be turkey but it came out in chunks .The roast potatoes were realy soggy and the veg was as hard as nails a total waist of time and money
