High Street Cafe in Tendring

Very friendly staff, lovely breakfast, staff went out of their way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, we had the breakfast but didn’t really want toast. We asked if we could have a fried slice instead and it wasn’t a problem at all, this is now our local, if you’re in Walton you must try this cafe

What a little gem of a cafe shop this is .Lovely welcome we have two precious little chuiahua doggies that don t like to sit on the floor social girls that want to sit on our lap .We were welcomed that was no problem.Great food great value dog friendly lovely couple running this clean comfortable cafe shop highly recommended made our day in walton on the naze .Thsnk you

Not a great start - turned up in a Tuesday morning at 8.30 after reading this cafe opened at 07.00 only to find they were closed! No idea on how good the food and service is but to be fair it looked yum and got great reviews. Maybe work on your advertising though to save time and inconvenience to your customers

Nice cafe, with a large selection of food and drink. Close to the beach, so easy to walk up to for lunch. Found it by accident, but would come back again.

Wonderful cafe which opens early. Food quality is 5 star and the service is also first class. Prices are very reasonable and it is very dog friendly.

We popped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and what a fantastic time we had. The food was absolutely amazing and the team was great too. We even went back on the Sunday and it was even better. This is a great cafe and needs more support as they deserve it!

Just returned from a weekend in Walton and myself and 4 friends had breakfast here 2 days on the trot. The quality of the ingredients were spot on we all agreed how we judge a breakfast by the sausage and Bacon which on this occasion were spot on . Back Bacon and a butchers choice sausage not one of those that you question if it actually comes from a pig 😂. The breakfast was presented nicely like someone actually took pride in what they served even the plates all matched and they had bubble & squeak Last but not least was the waitress who had a happy pleasant manner and really made the visit. Rest assured this will not be our last visit

Fantastic place with awsome food and lovely staff would highly recommend a visit.

The food and coffee were lovely here however we waited quite a long time for our food. This wouldn’t normally be a problem at all however whilst waiting I needed the toilet - but they don’t have one! Very surprised that a table service restaurant does not have a single toilet. The nearest public toilet is about a five minute walk away, not ideal if you’re there with small children or someone who cannot walk fast. Unfortunately this would put us off returning

Just picked up two take away breakfasts from there gotta say 10 out of 10 with proper sausages unlike the straight flavourless things other establishments serve Bubble was really good It was all really good And to top it all off i could take my dog in

The food was excellent, I had a roast dinner and I can’t fault it except for the roasties, they wasn’t as crispy as I would’ve liked however I’m just picky. Definitely recommend a visit

Lovely home cooked food. Had roast loin of pork with all the trimmings for Sunday lunch. Good portions and lovely fresh food you can actually taste the difference. Highly recommended

We had the most delicious breakfasts this morning on their Opening Day. Well done to the new owners. Definitely recommend this cafe, clean and non greasy. Very tasty. Sausages were proper butchers ones. Nicely refurbished.

Excellent, you want a great british fry up go where the locals go. This cafe has been around for years and its always packed and theres a reason great food great price and its always a friendly welcome. Whats left to say if your hungry why are you still reading this.

Typical no thrills greasy spoon seaside cafe.Basic British menu.All day breakfast,greasy fry ups,jacket spuds,chips with everything.No wine or beer. Hence only three stars.Serves its purpose.Popular with the local clientele who frequent these establishments.Nothing much else to recommend this place.

Came to this cafe as I really fancied a full English breakfast. After reading the reviews I was pleasantly surprised. Staff were so lovely and friendly, really chatty and welcoming. I ordered a regular breakfast which was so tasty. Not greasy at all and really what the doctor ordered. It’s now under new management which is what it was crying out for, a bit of love and tlc makes all the difference already. Will definitely be returning for a bit of coffee and a cake, as I didn’t have room for it after the breakfast. Keep up the hard work guys

Food was nice, a bit slow. Orders were inaccurate for 5 out of our 6 orders and a few items never turned up despite highlighting them to the staff.

Good food, not long to wait , good sevice

The pleasant chef spoke to me a couple of times to help with my request to have a fat-free breakfast. Had poached eggs, tinned tomatoes, beans, mushrooms ( poached in microwave) and toast (no butter). The cup of tea was good too, would recommend the food. Unfortunately the waitress overcharged me. When I queried it, she had charged £1 for each glass of tap water “ well, it’s a drink, isn’t it” was her reply. I handed them back, and she refunded £2. Then I realised she had still overcharged me and got another £1 back. No apology, and she almost threw the cups of tea down on our table. If you go, check the price before you pay and query it if it’s higher than you expected. The ‘egg’ for £1 on the menu, is apparently £1.50 if you have it poached too!

Went in and ate the best egg n onion burger (with cheese)...Pukka bit of nosh. Mate had a fry up and loved it 10/10

They deserve to be shut down ! They had no toilets in the cafe. Place was dirty. Waiter was eating our food. When questioned she said that she was working through her lunch.

Cold burnt good, staff were rude kept blaming each other for responsibility. Coffee was vile, no patience when ordering and the serving staff were very abrupt when speaking to them

The staff were very rude to us. The waiter walked off to take an order from another table when we had not finished ordering. There is direct line of sight to the kitchen where I could see the staff cutting up salad items for burgers and sandwiches, they were eating the left of pieces of salad. They were using their hands to touch the food, and then put the food in their mouth and touch food again. This is disgusting and violates all food safety practices that the employees should be following. The food they served was very cold, even though the bacon was half burnt to a crisp. While serving the food to us, she was eating food herself. Lucky for the establishment, google reviews do not allow videos but I have attached a screenshot of the woman sucking food off her thumb from the video. She was caught multiple times eating food from the counter when preparing food. When carrying out a plate with one sausage they held the saussage for the entire duration of the walk with their bare hands. How can you hold someone's food and think this is acceptable? This is honestly disgusting! The selection of drinks was terrible and the kids fruit shoots were aldi froot shoots but they charged high prices for them. If they are going to charge these prices then provide the equivalent product and not a cheaper alternative. This is a very 'bait and switch' tactic which is very shady. When we mentioned this to the staff they got very rude. They barged past an elderly lady and when she was questions she tried to deny it. Ah she was annoyed with us for the service that we were given If I was able to give 0 stars, I would!

Has taken some Covid precautions, but not enough. My gut feeling, especially as the food is only average, is that at the moment it isn't worth the risk, especially if you're elderly or vulnerable for some other reason.

Used to do a lovely fry up but not this time, I think they must have changed chefs, eggs were rubbery, beans were cold and everything swimming in grease. Will not be going back.

Going back today for more of this lovely food, yes highly recommend this Cafe Was well worth the visit first time a few weeks back. So I'm returning today for seconds.

We have visited this cafe several times now when we fancied a breakfast out & it has never disappointed. Personally I always add the bubble & squeak to my breakfast as it’s so tasty. Another plus is you get proper thick toast Definitely would recommend.

Ladies and Gents,I kid you not, I drive 70 odd miles every 2/3 weeks for the best bacon sandwich in Essex.. I won't eat another bacon sandwich anywhere else, why should I, when the bacon is succulent and the bread is so fresh, it melts in your mouth. The premises is clean and the staff are friendly. Top marks from a bloke who loves his food. Well done.

Lovely little local cafe, all fresh produce, no tinned rubbish here. It does a wicked mushrooms on toast with bread to die for. Will definitely become a regular haunt for me now I've discovered it :-)

El mejor lugar de Walton para el desayuno.Rápido, limpio y muy razonable por el precio. Si algo es muy barato para un desayuno a 3 libras. 25 sería poco daño va ups. Té o café, además de pan, salchichas y decente bacon, alubias o toms.Este es un café de estilo antiguo de cómo debería ser, si quieres mover pero en pijo si quieres buena comida venga a este lugar.Sólo desearía que este de vuelta a casa.

Con amigos en forma regular caminar por la zona y a lo largo de los años hemos tenido algunas paradas bastante horrible en Walton para nuestro té y come. Sin embargo probamos este lugar y lo encontramos limpio, buen servicio y excelente relación calidad-precio. La comida estaba caliente y llevados a la mesa al mismo tiempo que las bebidas con un personal muy amable. Hemos encontrado un lugar para visitar, sin duda, lo siento a todos los otros lugares de la zona, pero has un largo camino para ir a juego con este lugar.

La comida está muy bien presentado y preparado, además de muy buena relación calidad-precio. La ubicación de este café es sólo un tiro de piedra del mar. Las sillas son muy agradables y cómodas, el personal muy atento en general, tuve una muy buena experiencia y lo recomendaría y visita este café de nuevo para el desayuno, almuerzo o cena.

Visit this cafe on numerous occasions and would highly recommend it. The food is fresh and the atmosphere created by the friendly and funny staff make it very welcoming. Great value for money and great portion sizes :) will be back in a few weeks.

Siete de nosotros fuimos para almorzar aquí y nos quedamos muy satisfechos con la comida, el servicio y la amabilidad del personal de seis de nosotros tuvimos el menú especial para personas mayores y un desayuno. Yo mismo tuve pastel que he tenido antes, así que sabía era excelente relación calidad-precio y cinco creo tenía la lasaña. Con un dulce y una bebida caliente todos nos fuimos sintiéndonos muy completo. Debo añadir que el plato principal y bebida caliente es sólo 3 libras. 95. Bajas rápido antes de que se decida la puso.

El personal era grosero, y había un grueso pelo negro en mi desayuno. Cuando les dije que estaba descartado e ignorados. No conseguir un desayuno fresco, a sólo media y un nuevo huevo. No hay reembolso. Como ella lo compró más nos dijeron que ya no eran bienvenidos. Parece que el café de la calle alta necesitan algunas redecillas para el cabello y modales.

Como siempre, la comida era fantástica; llevar sándwiches dieron) mi hermana y yo comimos en aquí todo el tiempo y así que muchas personas un gran café siempre lo recomendaré a mis amigos y familia;)

Yo uso este café cada vez que me alojo en Walton, es fácilmente el mejor. Normalmente el desayuno preparado, que es amplio. Servicio, precio y la comida son excelentes. Que volveremos a por más.

No morning after the night before is complete without a breakfast Sarnie the High street cafe in Walton. I often just opt for a sausage and egg sandwich, the bread is thickly sliced and loaded with filling. Can't fault them and hope to try more off the menu soon.

Good plain food served quickly and always with a pleasant manner.There is plenty of choice and you can rely on the temperature and quality of the cooking.

I visited this cafe with my partner on another of our many visits to Walton on the Naze.We stopped for here for lunch and received a very warm welcome from the staff. The inside of the cafe is quite compact, but the tables are well laid out and you can be seated comfortably. The cafe has a good basic menu, with specials often on offer and it's also spotlessly clean.I ordered a bacon baguette, with coffee and my partner ordered 2 rounds of cheese on toast, with a mug of tea. Both our lunches were cooked fresh to order and were plentiful. My baguette was served warm, loaded with tasty bacon and my partners lunch was also lovely, with no shortage of melted cheese on the toast, both meals were delicious.We will definitely visit again in the future.

Usually have breakfast here. Good quality ingredients well cooked. Lots of choice for breakfast or lunch.Sadly they seem to have switched from butter to cheap margarine lately so the quality of toast and sandwiches has gone down. Would like the butter back please.

Upon ordering our food, I noticed a smell at the table, after further investigation it turned out to be coming from the cutlery Once I can put down to the dishwasher being due a clean but twice..... Put me off now, won't go back

I've spent more Saturday and Sunday mornings in this cafe than I care to remember. Get yourself a mega breakfast and a cup of coffee. Unless you're a veggie, you will not be disappointed!

Brilliant food. Basic high street cafe with very good value breakfast. A fair bit cheaper than some of the others but lovely food. I would recommend the omelettes and lovely wholemeal bread

My partner and me came her for breakfast before the beach. The inside was really nice and you really feel like your at the seaside. We both had breakfasts, the bread was nice bakers bread and it was nice and the bacon was delicious but that's as good as it got. The sausages tasted cheap and the bubble was really poor. It's such a shame as I was hoping it would be a lot better.

I am a resident of Walton and i wouldn't go anywhere else for breakfast to be honest!I suggest you try the bubble and squeak,just like me mums!!

When here with.my dad ( 80 ) on a sunday for breakfast staff were happy and helpful and the food was very good and hot good value too. On the down side could do with a makeover

After coming to Walton-On-The-Naze for many years and visiting a numerous of eating establishments I can honestly say that this cafe is the best i have been to ever. From the moment you walk through the door into a clean spacious cafe you are greeted by pleasant and friendly staff who are more than happy to assist you. The menu is similar to most cafes but the food that comes out to you is hot, well presented and DELICIOUS.I will be visiting Walton again in a few weeks and already know what i am having for breakfast :-). *****
