Called in for a bite to eat, never been before but I must say I am well impressed! The food is very reasonably priced and it was delicious. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely call again.

Easy parking, really good home-cooked food at very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Everyone in our party commented on the choice of food available and the quality of it when it arrived.

Dropped in this pub for a quick drink and was so impressed - it’s just like pubs used to be - the decor is dated but so incredibly clean - lovely friendly staff! Everything spotless! Was really impressed! Visit this lovely old school pub and keep it alive - and please don’t give it a ‘modern makeover’ it’s lovely and nostalgic just as it is

We've been for breakfast, Sunday lunch and now dinner and the food and service are always great. A lovely local pub with proper food at reasonable prices.

This was our first visit to The Sherwood and we canhighly recommend it. The food was delicious, hot and presented well and also great value. The management are very attentive and cannot do enough to ensure their customers are happy in a relaxed environment. This was our first visit and it certainly will not be our last.

Excellent home cooked food,friendly bar,very welcoming.. met land lady lovely lady. All in all great experience. Highly recommend

Had our work Christmas party here last night, and had an amazing time. Food was amazing, staff were very friendly and helpful, and venue was nice and warm, which was much appreciated with how cold it was outside 😂 Would recommend to anyone, we were all very happy with the service we received. Thanks to the staff for making it a wonderful night 😊 xx

I honestly couldn't write a better review.we arrived at 7 and by half past food was being served.woukd have been sooner but was waiting for rest of party to arrive.we has a three course meal which was plentiful and well presented.tomatoe soup was tasty presented nicely and served with a warm bread roll.omg the main was a beef dinner but choice of three with seasonal vegetables and plenty of them Brussels and chestnuts parsnips cabbage mash potatoes peas carrots etc.helped yourself from dishes on the table.the beef was honestly the best beef I've had out was slow roasted and melted in the mouth.beautiful.the dessert again choice of 3 and I had the Christmas pudding which again was faultless.staff was asking if everything ok and was so polite and welcoming.in fact the chef even come to the table and introduced herself and offered her services if anything else was needed not to hesitate to ask.the lady bringing food to the tables was helpful cheerful and lovely too.the food and hospitality was second to none.absolutely lovely.to finish out came a homemade mince pie again no soggy pastry just right.i don't normally wrote reviews but found the need to this time as people are quick enough to complain but not compliment where it's due and this is definately due.the pub was very clean welcoming and had a homely feeling.the toilet were lovely and clean with a basket on the side with sanitary products of needed and deodorants a lovely little touch.all I can say is a big well done to the Sherwood staff and chef etc I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and felt welcome.i will definately be taking my family for a Sunday dinner in the future because there was absolutely nothing to dislike again a big well done all see you soon 😊

Went down on a Friday night and had an absolute brilliant time, lots of laughs and plenty of drinks 👍.

Called here after visiting a noisy pub and wanting somewhere quiet, the food wasn't very impressive and the service was a bit slow but staff were very nice and it was cheap & cheerful plus we were hungry!

Great value for Sunday dinner for under £6 including pudding All freshly cooked veg not frozen lovely Yorkshire puddings and the meat melts in your mouth for the money I don’t think you will beat it locally just go early to secure a seat The puddings includes a good selection and homemade comfortable seating area and mainly diners in lounge area Sunday lunch time great to treat family or parents and won’t break the bank all in all great value for the price good choice of drinks at the bar too

Came here on the hock as a close competitor messed up our booking, and double booked our table of 12. Didn’t want to wait as it was a special occasion so all got in the car and went down the road to the Sherwood. We really should have gone here first, service was great, staff friendly and couldn’t do enough. Really made our night. We will defiantly be back and recommending to all! Thanks again

Very interesting menu, half Thai and half English pub menu. Ok selection of beers, foods pretty good and friendly. Can spear rough but friendly enough.

Tried the chicken Thai curry and wife tried chicken stir fry in red wine sauce + spring rolls. Both dishes were very good, and plenty of it, we will be visiting again, great !!!

We go there to eat almost every Tuesday evening. This is a very friendly pub with a good, well-priced menu. There is a range of traditional English dishes. meals which have become widely accepted in England like lasagne and spaghetti and an extensive menu of Thai food.

I can't believe we have lived so close for so long without visiting before. We were a party of 4 adults. We had the Thai starter sharing platter for 2, everything was cooked perfectly, particularly the sesame prawn toast. Gorgeous! Mains: we had the Sherwood Mega burger and the in laws had chicken noodles and king prawn sweet and sour. Again, everything was beautifully cooked. Proper chips, very brown so properly well done. The burgers were huge fluffy buns with good sized beef burgers, bacon and cheese (proper grated cheese, not 'rubber' slices) topped with onion rings. No sauce on the burger itself, but if you ask the staff they are happy to oblige you. Don't expect fancy trimmings, this is good honest stuff. Very good prices too, the 2 burgers were on a deal for £11.50 for both. Lovely place, lovely staff.

A great little pub with a good variety of food ranging from English to traditional Thai.Its always busy at weekends for food and offers home cooked carvery meals on a Sunday at an excellent price.Clean pub although a little dated but well worth a visit.

Este pub es otro de esos pequeños tesoros que es raramente hablado a la hora de decidir dónde ir a comer. El pub estaba relativamente tranquilo pero limpio y agradable. El menú, aunque no tenía una amplia elección de dos tipos de cocina, comida de pub o Tailandés. Un amigo y yo tuvimos comida de pub y tenía tarta del día que venía con una variedad de puré de patatas, patatas fritas o patata guisantes o chaqueta mixta de verduras. Había una generosa porción y sabía encantador. Mi otro amigo tenía vegetariana curry verde tailandés, que tengo que admitir que parecía y olía a fabuloso. Todos nos gustó mucho la comida y el precio era genial, tres comidas con bebidas gaseosas vino a a menos de 22 libras. Tienen una oferta de dos comidas por £11. 50 En algunas comidas.
