The meal on offer was a carvery, every carvery I have been to you go to the servery and chose your meat and the help yourself to the vegetables, not here the waitress asked which meat we wanted this was then plated and served with a very small selection of vegetables. There was very little meat, and it was not very hot, we asked for extra gravy which came in a milk jug !!!!!!. The fresh Fruit salad was mainly tinned friut. Needless to say we will not be dining here again.

What a fabulous tome seeing the Stamford Shakespeare Company perform on Wednesday night. They did Agatha Christie's Spiders Web. We thoroughly enjoyed the show they were excellent.

Two of us attended for a pre-show dinner - Tolethorpe Hall, just outside Stamford, is Rutland's open air theatre (audience covered). Dinner was in one of the dining rooms in the stone-built manor house. We arrived well early, at 5.30pm, to a 3 course meal of which we'd pre-ordered the first two courses. Service thoughout was excellent. Sorry no pics of the starters Chicken liver parfait (pate) with red onion marmalade & balsalmic toast, and Smoked mackerel fillet served on horseradish toast with rocket and basil but we forgot. We had a leisurely meal, a nice sit in the gardens outside with a drink, and took in the play: Romeo and Juliet. Only bad part of the evening is that I still have the nail marks on my hand from when my wife spotted Romeo on the balcony with his top off - talk about 6 pack, 8 pack more like.

Probably the worst lunch experience I’ve had. Party of 4 waited 20 minutes to be served when it is very quiet barely any tables in. Then proceeded to wait 10 minutes for the 4th meal to arrive never showed ask server they said that they would check 10 minutes later says that it’s just getting started horrible experience other meals in party weren’t great either £15 for a tiny curry. A burger that the meat looked barely eatable….. Won’t be back and definitely do not recommend

Staff were shockingly rude. Went in for a drink but needed the toilet first but was refused by an arrogant male member of staff with a smirking young woman next to him on the stairs. Both were incredible rude and ignorant. Was tempted to shit on the stairs. Worse customer service I have ever came across.

Went for a lunchtime meal. The food was exceptional. My son said they were the best chips and macaroni cheese ever! I enjoyed a chicken burger with a delicious relish. Lovely staff and service too. Will definitely be back again x

Very nice restaurant mixing classic/ modern British and European cuisine. Although for a Saturday evening in August was quiet, it seems this style of restaurant would do far better in somewhere like Bristol or Manchester or a more fashionable rural area such as Cornwall, mid-Somerset (I.e., Wells), the Welsh borders or Aberystwyth where there will be far more more foody clientele/ customers and where the chef could be more adventurous

Starter was divine along with the bread disappointed with the lasagne it was very salty the three of us said exactly the same. It won't stop us going back.
