Fab Bistro, immaculate. Great service.

First impressions were good with a clean modern and welcoming environment. However service was slow, especially as the venue was nor busy. The subsequent food poisoning means we won't be going back!

Visited the spa for a swim, used the steam room and sauna. Had a meal whike there. The location on the Crichton estate may mean it isn't as busy as it could be at times but worth a visit

We have just enjoyed a lovely Valentines meal in this hidden gem at Easterbrook. Food was lovely and great value and staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion or for mid-week treat. Will be back.

Went with my family on Sunday for lunch to celebrate our mums special birthday . When we arrived they had a banner up for her . What a lovely gesture. We all opted for the tapas . It was delicious and good portions . The service was excellent. Both waiters were so polite helpful and very efficient. We will certainly return .

What a lovely place to eat, lovely menu we all opted for the tapas, lots to choose from even a separate Christmas specials tapas. Staff very friendly and made us feel special. Food was lovely and hot and stayed hot while eating it. Lovely relaxing feel about the place. First time I’d been here and certainly won’t be the last.

Wonderful tapas and efficient, friendly service. We were a party of eighteen work colleagues having our Christmas lunch. We had pre-ordered but staff did a great job in serving over 50 dishes to us in only a few minutes. Food was delicious too!

We attended a great "Pop-up World Kitchen" even here the other day. The event was actually free (but donations welcomed) so we booked tickets online. The Ukrainian food was excellent. We had delicious meat soup, followed by golumpki (stuffed cabbage) and sweet bread to finish. We also got to meet the chefs, who gave us a talk on their history especially the Holodomor period. This was a lovely experience. We look forward to returning.

I have visited this lovely venue before but yesterday was a special pop-up Ukrainian kitchen where we were treated to a traditional meal which marked 100 years since a dreadful famine in Ukraine, the Holodomor, when millions starved to death. The welcome was warm, the company great and the food delicious. I would highly recommend a visit here and I will certainly return.

The Bistro is a very welcoming place and is supporting social events. I was invited to an event organised by the Ukrainian community to remind us about the famine in 1932. This is very meaningful.

I went to the Bistro as part of a Pop-up World Kitchen event; it was an absolute privilege to attend. The food was delicious and the service was delightful. I started with a clear, dill-fragranced soup, then had stuffed cabbage leaves and the grand finale was an absolutely lovely poppyseed and cherry bread. We were also introduced to the history of the Holodomor and the day of remembrance, with a very moving address. It was wonderful to spend time with some of the displaced Ukrainian community in Dumfries, and said much about their generosity of spirit that they hosted this event, and cooked for us. Thank you so much.

We went for dinner prior to an event at Easterbrook Hall which would start at 8pm. We had pre booked a table but The Bistro was only half full. Arrived at 6pm. Had to wait 20 mins to put in an order just for drinks (2 of which were the wrong on arriving). Then we ordered our food from tapas menu and waited....and waited... After 25 mins we enquired where our order was. The waitress said it was just being prepared. 45 mins on from the order still no food and further enquiries made. The waitress apologised as no food to be had in time for us to go to the event, even though we had booked the table 2 hours before, but the manager had said we could have our drinks for free (the manager should have come to speak to us and not send the poor waitress) For the first time in my life we had to leave a restaurant without receiving our order! It goes without saying I shall not be back ever.

Wish we had gone straight to our event and saved our money ...too polite not to pay. Service was extremely slow. Food order wrong when lukewarm food eventually arrived. Sat for nearly an hour without food and had to return cocktail so without a drink too. Won't be back.

Nobody came to ask if the food was okay (it wasn’t the best). We would have ordered more drinks but nobody bothered to come and ask if we wanted any.

If I could take another star off I would,..Arrived for dinner at 6pm, got drinks at 6.30pm , sent drinks back at 6.35 pm, got new drinks at 7pm . Food eventually arrived at 7.15pm and was lukewarm at best. Order was also wrong?! Couldn’t finish 2nd drink as it was too strong. To be fair the staff were nice, but unfortunately it didn’t make up for poor food and drinks and very slow service. What a shame! Won’t be back!

Was served a lovely tapas and coffee here the other day, was looked after by Samuel who was fantastic and made sure I was well looked after, will definitely be back soon!

tapas? re heated frozen rubbish . the Ukrainian style dumplings? soggy and cold - utterly inedible .... panko cod?.....a wafer of fish product in heavy batter - baked to a crisp ....not even a fish finger .......small hard ...vile . garlic prawns .....four prawns drowned in oil ....... spiced cauliflower ....frozen product reheated - very hard smashed into tiny pieces . service all over the replace and very slow . rotten tiny portions of rubbish quality food ...oh near forgot - rotting water cress or something scattered all over - so decayed it smelled ....

Just been here for the first time, it's a really nice wee spot. Parking is easy, staff are very friendly and food is excellent. Drinks are reasonably priced too. Really enjoyed it and will be back.

I was here tonight for dinner with 17 other people for dinner. We were welcomed into the place by a lovely girl her name was Kirsty and she seated are table. Then a younger girl called Kennedy served the table we weren’t sure about the menu as it was just new so Kennedy walked all of us through the menu so it made it easier for us to understand she then took are order and was joking and laughing about with me and my friends she is all you can want in a waitress from the smile to the banter. Overall my experience here was fantastic and the food was out of this world I would 100% come back the next time I’m here. Thank you Kennedy and Kirsty for making the experience a success!!!!

I came for dinner with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed it. A lovely Tapas menu- six dishes between two of us was plenty. Very good value- the tapas was £20 each including a drink. We will come back

Love this place! I work night shifts and go for a morning swim, and a coffee. a young man with tattoos is always very welcoming and nothing was ever too much for him and he set my payment plan up for me to use the pool as I am not good with tech!! Beautiful scenery. Inside and out.

Good Social distance and sanitising measures in place. Food was ok. I had the Smoked salmon and avocado bagel which was tasty but not a lot of filling. Waitress/bar staff were noisy " throwing" empty bottles in the bins like it was a noisy nightclub. Something to bare in mind especially with the high ceilings.

Went one sunny day as we knew we could sit outside and weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. It was years since I'd had a ploughman's lunch so opted for that and it was excellent. Great service and great surroundings too.

Staff were 2 fabulous young ladies. Very friendly,informative polite and always smiling. Bistro was clean and bright. We had bruschetta and a cheese board both were beautifully presented and tasted delicious.

Lovely building, great selection of light bites and meals.

Sadly very poor. Ordered 2 steaks, sadly so tough they were practically inedible. Diane sauce had a strange celery like taste. Mixed salad seemed quite nice but had raw onion through it so couldn't eat it, but that's my preference nothing to do with the restaurant. Sadly only able to give 2 stars, one for the yummy chips and one for the cheerful waitress. All in all....could do better.

Spacious, clean premises with good variety of food choice. Outdoor seating too.

Visited here for lunch. Delay in order taken. Table not cleaned until drink arrived. Waited far too long for food to come and when it did which was baked potatoes it was inedible. Not cooked and potato green in places. Food sent back and left....

The food was delicious, staff were amazing. They looked after us well, so friendly & helpful. Nothing was any trouble for them. The toilets were immaculate, the Bistro was spotless. We will def be going back to the Bistro next time we are in Dumfries. I would gladly give the Bistro more than a 5 ***** rating.

We stopped by for coffee and bacon rolls after parkrun and were really pleased we did. The food was excellent, the bistro was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly. Well worth a visit.

Recently had an evening meal here for the first time ever and was really impressed the menu was varied so we were able to pick something quickly staff were very helpfull and servivce fairly swift food was lush really enjoyed it ill be returning my only quibble the yellow chairs looked a bit grubby needed cleaning stained didnt look good but wont out me off well done

Nice menu. Had french toast and fruit, with maple syrup. Nice brioche bread. Tea was rather bitter. Next day they were short staffed in the kitchen and could only offer bacon rolls or rolls and sausage.

Very disappointed. Disinterested staff - one sat on her mobile phone for half an hour. The other stomped off muttering insults after I pointed out that my knife was dirty and that the restaurant would look better if the floor was kept clean. She said they had been very busy and keeping the floor clean was outside her control. Wow ! What an attitude. Needless to say I will not be back. The food was brilliant by the way.
