terrible. A group of us came in and were told we could only be served by him and only at one end of the bar, and could only order a certain drink. After having made us wait outside while he had a smoke (even though there was an abundance of staff inside who could’ve served us) he proceeded to yell at us and tell us to F off when we asked for a different drink. Do not go here.

We visited this bar on Saturday night and one of the members of staff (a bald middle-aged man) was really rude & completely let this place down. He made the atmosphere very uncomfortable, said that we could only be served by him but then proceeded to swear at us & make us feel like a complete inconvenience for making any order at the bar. We were simply looking for somewhere to have a drink and he really dampened the experience for us all.

Fantastic little place! No longer a restaurant since covid, but they serve fantastic beer. Best Guinness I've ever had in liverpool, too. They actually let it settle properly. The staff are so kind, felt like part of the family from the moment I walked in. It's definitely a good place for students, BUT I think everyone will enjoy this place, cheap and cheerful and a happy atmosphere. It's nice and clean- not a sticky table in sight! The seating is cosy if you sit in the cosy seats, but some of the seats could do with cushions or just bring your own! Lol Had a wonderful night. Thanks staff!

Such an amazing atmosphere, really good service, the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind and the manager was outstanding! Really down to earth and friendly, and I will most definitely give this 5 stars! Well deserved 5 stars! Would definitely recommend for a chill bev and good vibes!

Before starting a 12 day holiday in Germany for the wonderful Christmas markets we decided to have a day out in Liverpool City Centre visiting the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for and a favourite pub of mine is The Scholar Pub. Tucked away down Roscoe Street, its a fine looking pub, great decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub. We ordered beers ,served in excellent condition, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My beer was really good, a light and hoppy beer ,freezing cold and bursting with taste, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Scholar Pub is easy to locate along Roscoe Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Scholar on Roscoe street is a fantastic pub thats tucked away a bit but its a place well worth visiting as it's very lively and its a great pub to watch live sport and when we visited here they were showing live football from the Europa Cup. This superb pub has a rustic interior with a nice bar and bar area and throughout the whole pubs interior TV screens and superb seating options and on every occasion me and my twin brother have been to here this pub was full of students. We visited The Scholar in the evening on a freezing cold night and it was fairly busy in here.We sat in the main bar area where we had a few glasses of Sharp's brewery beer which were superb and well priced. This is a very lively pub thats well worth a visit and is easy to get to from the Renshaw street bus stops it's a short walk.(This is my 2nd review of the Scholar). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-16.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-12.00-00.00. Sunday-12.00-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Renshaw street bus stops.

My twin brother Stephen and I had just had a great afternoon at the Liverpool Beer Festival held in lutyens Crypt in the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral ,while heading back into the city centre we decided to drop into The Scholar ,a great pub that's always a joy to visit. I love the look of this pub,the interior is superb,a rustic looking serving bar, eclectic decor and furnishings ,tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub,a great pub to chill out in. We ordered beers at the bar ,we chose Carling lager, these were served chilled,we settled down and planned out the rest of the day ahead while sipping our beers. My beer was really good,Carling lager is a light, hoppy, unpretentious beer bursting with taste ,it's not my usual tipple ,more a real ale and craft beer fan myself but I must say I really enjoyed this beer as did my brother. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every previous visit to here we had a great time. The Scholar is easy to locate along Roscoe Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, midday till very late. Well worth checking out if your in the area.

Have been here on many occasions and always had a brilliant time. It's a little out of the way from the centre so doesn't get too packed. However, last night, a birthday treat, was spoiled by the volume of the live entertainment. The duo were good, but they were far too loud for an audience of about twelve. I politely asked a member of staff could they request that the volume be lowered, she said she would ask the Manager. I watched as she spoke to him, he did nothing and actually laughed. When the duo had a break, we moved seats to the furthest point away in the pub to try and enjoy the rest of the night, but that was not to be. I shouted loudly to my friends that I would be complaining about this on line, the bar staff then went to tell the manager, who again was quite amused. He didn't realise that we could see his reactions through a mirror behind the bar. Having being brought up in the pub trade, I know it is common courtesy to listen to your customers, respect their views and try to accommodate their wishes. Obviously this man has had no training in customer relations and this will be reflected in the customer satisfaction and return visits. Looking at the number of people in the bar last night, his strategy to entice customers isn't working and needs a rethink. If you visit, and there is live music, bring ear protectors!

Graeme and Nikki are great managers and always keep it running brilliantly. It’s nice and cheap (it is student focused after all) but the quality is still there! Nice one guys.

The Scholar Pub is a pub I occasionally drop into ,its a friendly sports bar/ students bar that serves a good pint at a decent price. I love the look of this pub ,the interior is awesome, great wall art adorning the walls, eclectic decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a super pub to unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday evening, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we then ordered a pale ale from Love Lane Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. It is finally so good to get back in the pubs again after over 3 months of lockdown, beers have never tasted better,my pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced pale ale with a big hit of hops, very easy to drink, a beer style I really enjoy ,my twin brother Stephen also gave me a thumbs up to his beer. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Scholar Pub is easy to locate along Roscoe Street.
