Pizza's for our party not only turned up late, but were burnt & no labels on the boxes. We couldn't tell which topping was which, they were literally cremated. Some got eaten out of desperation because our party members were so hungry after the waiting. When we put in a complaint, the attitude was as disgusting as the food. Very argumentative. Tried to claim that's how pizza's are done. We finally got some money back, we didn't take it all because we said it was on the grounds that some of it was eaten. But very disappointed with the food and the service. Will never use this place again. Only recommendation I can make is, I recommend staying away from this establishment.

Rang Ana rang and when I got though for collection I was told 15 minutes, an hour and 20 minutes later food was over cooked and cold. Since new ownership this place has gone downhill considerably. Take it from a Fulbourner who have lives here over 10 years. Avoid this place.

I don't know why there are bad reviews for this place. Everytime I've been, have enjoyed every meal from pizza, fish & chips to kebab and spicy potatos. Great prices and nice food. Would recommend :)

Changed owners, wouldn’t go back again now. Phoned up to order said it would be 15 mins, I arrived and they didn’t tell me they were running late. 45 mins after my initial call, The food was ready. On one of the kebabs it was meant to have mayo and salad. I saw him shut the kebab box with no salad so I questioned it. The guy said I definitely put salad in it and the other guy joked to me saying you are watching him but didn’t see him put the salad in. I left the shop, walked outside and what a surprise, there was no salad. Went back in to prove I was correct and ask for them to add the salad. No customer service skills at all! Will not be returning.

For a local kebab place it does quite good kebabs and spicy potatoes. Don't be deceived by the way it looks on the outside. Give it a try.

Away with work and staying in Fulbourn, I’d normally have headed out for dinner but, with the prospect of a particularly nasty exam weighing on my mind, I thought that going for a take-away and troughing it back at the hotel, whilst attempting something vaguely resembling revision, would probably be a good idea. Trouble is, in Fulbourn, take-away choices are a bit restricted. Added to that, apart from a few bits on FaceBook, finding out anything about Sawos was neigh on impossible, so it was always going to be a bit of a punt. In the interests of science though, the coat and shoes went on, then I made the five minute walk to Sawos. It’s a funny old place, that’s for sure. The usual pizza-shop fayre of kebabs, fried chicken and, erm, pizza, is there, but it also does double duty as a chippy, which is a bit unusual. It was certainly busy, which I always take as a good sign, with plenty of people making use of the ample seating whilst they waited. Order placed (off-menu, but no problem), I popped to the Co-op for extra revision supplies and then back to Sawos, which was still busy, but about ten minutes after my order, it was all good to go, so back to the hotel I trotted, armed with pizza, chips and the obligatory garlic sauce. And now the important bit. Pizza. It was indeed a pizza and it was also very nice. Decent base (not too thick, not too thin, but just right) and plenty of toppings; what more could you ask for? No soggy dough, no overdone toppings, just a good, tasty pizza. Chips were, as you might expect from somewhere that’s also a chippy, standard chippy fayre, which was fine, although I’d rather have had the crispier variety that I still think, by law, should be compulsory for all pizza take-aways. Chippy chips don’t quite work as well when dunked in garlic sauce as their sturdier counterparts, but they were soon consumed, so I obviously didn’t have that much of a problem with them! Normally, I wouldn’t review based on one visit, but, in this case, I’m not likely to be back in that neck of the woods for a while, so I thought that it would be rude not to review; I did have to add Sawos to TripAdvisor first though. For my visit, it was a decent little place, with friendly staff, that turned out a pretty good pizza that saw me through some awful revision. Cheers chaps.

The Chequers at Cottenham is a true hidden gem :) a charming traditional village pub that offers a surprising and delightful twist: authentic Italian cuisine. We started with the creamy spinach, truffle oil, and wild mushroom gnocchi—a rich and indulgent dish with perfectly cooked gnocchi. The earthy flavors of the mushrooms combined with the aromatic truffle oil made this a standout. The confit duck leg was another highlight, cooked to perfection with tender, flavorful meat and crispy skin. The Hunter’s chicken delivered a comforting mix of juicy chicken smothered in a delicious sauce. The seabass was an absolute delight—crispy skin, tender flakes, and seasoned beautifully :P And let’s not forget the pizzas! The freshly made, stone-baked crust and authentic Italian toppings make them irresistible. Whether you’re a fan of classic Margherita or something more adventurous, there’s a pizza for everyone. If you're looking for a cozy spot with great vibes and amazing Italian dishes, The Chequers is definitely worth a visit!
