Lovely location and comfortable café/bar. We had baked potatoes and toasted paninis which were fine. Friendly service and great that it is dog friendly.

Went as a family for lunch .. First time for a meal . Was told that only lite bites available . Apologies made after certain things couldn't be supplied .. Food was ok but would have been better if it had been hot A but disappointed as it is a beautiful setting and really clean . Staff are all friendly

So- Gail and I were stopping at Queensberry Bay site and The Sandpiper is the on site Bar. Its Dog Friendly and the staff are lovely. The views are amazing and the Bar is spotless. The food is hit and miss. We had great Burgers but The Breakfast wasn't Great. I think they could do more- Food wise, but overall its a nice place to meet people from all over the Uk.

Extremely disappointed with this visit. Varied menus on tables, but upon going to bar to order food (partner wanted steak pie), was told by staff that they only worked to a particular menu sheet on Fridays (hence it being called ‘Fish Friday’). They perhaps should have removed the other menus in that case. So we both opted for Fish & Chips. Myself the traditional and my partner the ‘hairy bikers’ version which stated in spicy crumb with pea puree. I requested chips with both and no peas on my plate. When the dishes eventually arrived after a very long wait, even though the place was not busy at this time (about 4.45pm), my partner’s had a few very small potatoes on (which looked like tinned potatoes done in deep fat fryer) and I had a very small handful of dried looking fries. Upon starting to eat my chips were stone cold, so I asked the waitress if she could heat my food and when she returned with the plate, the chips looked even drier, but warmer. On my partner’s plate there was the smallest amount imaginable of pea puree! I would say not even a teaspoon. Both fish were quite dry and clearly overcooked looking also. Although the actual fish inside the batter tasted ok. This was quite disappointing especially at a cost of £37.75 for x2 Fish & Chips (if that’s what you could call it) and a pint of Stella and a glass of orange! Will not eat there again.

Went in for the Sunday dinner which we had eaten at this restaurant in the past. Was told that the restaurant no longer does Sunday dinners. We then looked at the limited menu and chose the steak pie and mash which was the nearest equivalent to the Sunday dinner. We were then told that there was no mash so we could only have chips with the meal. The meal arrived and although the pie was ok it was only served with peas which were inedible. After the meal, we tried to order 2 decaf cappacinos which we had on past trips to this restaurant but was also told that this was not available either but only in sachet form. The price for this meal was over £15 each. At this price, we would expect a better service and not food that has obviously been just taken out of a freezer and put in a microwave with peas that were not fresh. After reading other reviews on this site the management seems to put a generic answer but don't seem to be improving or listening. The restaurant is in such a lovely setting but needs a decent chef to cook a quality meal if the restaurant is going to be charging the prices they are for meals.

Lady at reception less than welcoming. Was told after 10mins their fryer was broken which is unavoidable but for whatever reason even pizza was scored off the menu. Had max and cheese which was clearly a ready meal, absolutely zero taste to it! Garlic bread was the only good thing. Kid’s spaghetti bolognaise was like rubber. Wouldn’t return

We were a party of 21 from a local support group and this was our outing before breaking up for the summer. When we arrived we were shown to our tables. Was nearly an hour later when the food came. I'm afraid the only way to describe it was disgusting. It was pea and ham soup but could have been anything really. It was gritty, salty, very thick and some were cold. I don't think any of us managed to eat it . The sandwiches were obviously made and left out uncovered as they were going hard. We had booked several weeks before and gave our orders for the sandwiches. After a while a man, I didn't catch his name or position, came over to speak to us, offered us more coffee or drinks but I'm afraid that couldn't make up for the disappointment. It's a really nice place in a beautiful setting with views to die for but that doesn't make up for bad service. As I said there were 21 of us and that is 21 people who won't be coming back. I think this was the worst meal I have ever had and fail to understand how soup and sandwiches could be so difficult to make.

Delicious sweet and sour chicken with rice/noodles. We were given plenty of time to choose and sample the sauces to see what we liked. Service with a smile - we will definitely return.

Good branded outlet with good service and products. Went on a busy day and ordered some products. They appeared quickly and were good quality. Will use again.
