Gorgeously sleep & inviting on a quiet Sunday evening.

Great traditional pub serving usual drinks. 1 bloke running the whole show. Very efficient even when a last minute crowd came in they were all served quickly, glasses collected and tables cleaned. The guy deserves a payrise!

A great traditional pub in the centre of Bath offering a great selection of beers and wines. We really enjoyed our visit to Sam Weller's. We visited on a cold early February evening assured by the sign outside that it would be warm inside! - it wasn't (only joking)

If you'd like to drink surrounded by history then this a pub in which to be a customer. No observable 'mod cons', just wood, warmth and good beer (or coffee), and for me, a seat at the bar. For me, this was a trip down memory lane - a throwback to my 1980s. The only thing that appears to have changed is the range of beer and bar staff (and me of course!). Go!

Great little pub. Met for some pre works Christmas lunch. Friendly landlord and really nice IPA. Pleasant and nice old school pub atmosphere where you can chat and laugh over a good pint.

Beer visit during Christmas Market trip

Went to this pub with my family and dog as it was dog friendly today during a visit to the Christmas market.Pity about some of the clientele who are not dog friendly as one drunken bloke threatened to break our dogs face with a kick. We decided not to to stay. Very disappointed

Recently visited Sam Wellers in Bath. We were charged £15.20 for 1 pint of Larger and a medium house wine with lemonade dash. The charge for the lemonade was £1.40. These prices are ridiculous. We hear all the time of pubs closing around the country. With this sort of excessive charging, I'm not surprised pubs are closing. If you keep taking customers for granted then you will not have any. We bought the same drinks from another pub in Bath city centre, they cost £9.40. Please stop excessive charging. It's greedy.

A pub with character, with charm. We were watching the final of Euro 2024 and everyone was very friendly, there were more Spaniards and a very friendly atmosphere. The music is very good, at a low volume so you can talk. There is no food, but you can bring it from outside without a problem. It is also pet friendly, we loved the place, if we return to Bath we will definitely stop by this pub again.

Excellent staff, always remember your drink preference. Relaxing atmosphere.

A pub seemly transported from somewhere else and planted in the middle of beautiful Bath...it seems so at odds, with is patterned carpets and dark gloss painted interior...

A very strange 1990s pub stuck in a kind of time warp...sticky carpets, dark garish colours...rocking tables..in a great location, a wasted opportunity....

We loved visiting this pub, the landlord is very friendly loved our dogs, the music was brilliant but not too loud the glasses were clean and good selection of drinks 👍

Popular pub with great atmosphere, right in the heart of Bath city centre. Called in twice during our visit to the Christmas market and I'm sure this pub will become part of our annual tradition in future.

When I'm at a pub I want it to be 2 things. Simple, straight up and honest. This is the pub where I Imagen famous writers to come from. You want to find out what the locals of Bath come to create their own adventures. This is where they come to start the great story of Bath.

Great little pub with lovely Customer service. Small in the centre of the city, but still escapes the busyness of Bath. Cosy sitting indoors for the winter and chilled small seating area for the summer. It has become one of our favourites simply for the lovely locals

Classic and authentic English pub. And by that I mean no food, only drinks - in fact they welcome you bringing your own food. Full bar and tap list. Inside is nothing fancy, but there are several cozy little tables and a nook in the back. One young woman was running the whole shop and she was friendly while also being incredibly efficient and kept everybody happy and served. A great spot for a pause and a drink or two.

Excellent pub, great beers and friendly staff.

Good bar, cosy & old fashioned ambient interior, pints of Guinness were excellent. £6/pint however which I found vvv expensive though maybe that’s the going rate for the area. If you’re after food they don’t do it but they’re happy for you to bring your own food from elsewhere - a good thing imo

They don't serve food, despite the photos, and you order the drink and they give it to you only at the bar. The place smelled musty. Waitress and other customers gave us dirty looks when we entered (we were a group of foreigners). The situation is very uncomfortable. It's a shame that nowadays and in such a tourist place, there are still people who judge and treat others like this.

Possibly one of my favourite pubs in bath. Small and cozy but with enough room to keep your privacy. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Drinks are well stocked and looked after They have regular pub quiz - I don't play but I enjoy playing along in my head. - prizes are good. Having seen so meny of my fave pubs close and fade into history it's great to see this one going strong.

Good place, small and quaint pub. Good seating areas. More importantly, the glasses are clean and the beer is fresh. Toilets are well maintained, hold the rails when walking down steep stairs to the toilets.

Lovely friendly landlord and wife

Sam, the barman, is the most welcoming dude! We came in at 4pm with a table booked at 6pm down the road, had a drink, decided to stay until our table was booked and then came back after a little walk around the cocktail bars after our meal because there was just no better welcoming atmosphere throughout the whole of bath! Absolutely recommend everyone passing to go in and have a drink because it is so good we stayed until 1am where we had to run to our train because we lost time whilst in there and nearly missed it. Thankyou for the best night ❤️

I've been drinking in there on and off for years. Used to work just down the road and would go in after work. Great pub grub and a decent selection of drinks. Same couple been running it for years to my knowledge. I wish I was in there now to be honest.

Great food and portions! I had fish and chips and my friends had a cottage pie and a chicken salad. We all loved out food. We received a great service from Owen, very kind, patient and attentive waiter :)

A lovely place on a beautiful corner of Bath being staffed by a friendly team who enjoy chatting as they serve. You definitely get what you pay for, with generous servings on each plate and a truly enjoyable atmosphere. Also so friendly to a happy dog who enjoyed a little attention!

Stopped off here for a quick drink before a meal reservation. Lovely quaint pub with good drinks selection that were reasonably priced. Great customer servise from Owner Maria. Was a shame she was closing early as we would have stayed for another round. Well worth a visit.

Myself and my husband went there today it was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. The food was massive portions, great price and soo tasty. Would 100% recommend.

Lovely food, lovely staff and seriously, the food was traditionally made and delicious. We ordered one plate for each of us and it was more than enough.

Recommended to me by a very nice local postman. It's becoming very hard to find good traditional pubs in the centre of Bath these days. Sam Wellers ticks all the boxes for me. Attractive location, friendly attentive staff, a great pint of Timothy Taylor's and an entertaining atmosphere. Highly recommended.
