Terrible and would not go back. Tables outside were not being wiped down or cleaned between customers and the plastic wicker chairs were all broken and horrible to sit on. All the food came out to find they forgot to put my food order through, so had to sit and wait and by the time it came out my husband and kids has finished. And when it did come out it was the biggest disappointment, DO NOT order the warm chicken and bacon salad with honey mustard dressing, it's basically a bowl or shredded iceberg with some sweetcorn and cherry tomatoes and a bit of onion thrown in and a measly few bits of chicken placed on top, with a pot of mayo in the middle, £14 for this is ridiculous. I must say though as don't like to be too critical on a small business, my husband said the crab burger was lovely. I am all for supporting small businesses but I would never return here.

Was told the kitchen was too small to cater to allergies and I needed to find somewhere else to eat! I have never been told that excuse before and I think it’s wholly unacceptable that as a cafe you can simply refuse to serve customers with a nut allergy rather than deal with it and know what ingredients are in your food. Would not recommend for anyone with an allergy!!

Popped in this morning with our two dogs for breakfast. The two staff members on duty couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly. Even to the extent of asking if I wanted them to turn the tv in the background over as it was a show cooking Christmas turkey and she could see I’d ordered a vegetarian breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and our dogs treated like royalty.

This was a great spot for lunch, surrounded by nothing but pure beauty. A three minute walk to the beach as well. Mandy who works in the restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate me and my friends, she was super friendly and left us all with a smile on all our faces, I will be back next year!!

A quiet lunch stop with seating in the courtyard. A large menu with options to suit everyone’s needs. Staff were friendly, helpful & welcoming. Food was good, good prices- the cod goujon sandwich was tasty with large pieces of fish.

Staff were nice, most of the food was okay. Brie and bacon panini was actually ham and cheese and the iced coffees were very milky. Good location with average food.

Quickly popped in for lunch. Ellie, behind the counter was just amazing. Very friendly and extremely helpful. Food was gorgeous and very filling. No issues at all considering 2 out of the 3 of us are VERY fussy eaters. Added bonus: even though it’s small on the outside, there’s lots of seating AND a toilet. Will deffo come back when in the area again

Stopped here for lunch on a nice sunny day after walking around Lulworth cove. We opted to sit outside with our dog which was nice and we ordered straight away and the food was served within 15 minutes. Good burger and chicken and bacon salad with friendly and efficient service and overall a very good experience.

Poor lunch experience. Overpriced crab sandwiches, with bits of shell in them. And anti-social people with dogs barking and running around about the staff did nothing. Would never go back.

We stayed in a cottage in Lulworth for a week and popped in to The Saltwater Grill for breakfast. We had a small breakfast and a large breakfast with two teas - cost £24.95. I then spotted that they served freshly squeezed orange juice so ordered two glasses at £4.50 each. The orange juice was lovely. Really refreshing. And it was good to see paper straws used instead of plastic. But one drink was served in a glass which had a small chip on the rim. The breakfasts were nice but my egg was slightly undercooked and a bit snotty. Seemed like reasonable quality ingredients though. The person who served us was friendly. We sat indoors and we had to listen to the chef's choice of really heavy metal music competing with a radio which wasn't the most pleasant way to enjoy breakfast. Please be aware of where your customers are sitting and what noise you subject them to. Not all of us enjoy ragey death metal music over breakfast. The owner was sat at a nearby table talking loudly to another customer about how good she had treated her staff during the lockdown. Nice to hear, even if we didn't choose to listen to her loud conversation over the top of the death metal music. All in all, a nice enough breakfast but lack of attention to detail and unpleasant ambience Pricey for what it was but you kind of expect that in a tourist trap like this. I suspect most of their customers are tourists so they don't care too much about attracting you back. Which is a shame as we would have eaten breakfast here each day of our stay had the attention to detail matched the price bracket.

We went in for a 'lite bite' as it's located in a convenient location. I was surprised at the number of young members of staff. There didn't seem to be an adult in charge. We ordered sandwiches which were ok but overpriced. The bread and the salad were fresh however the gammon seemed more like thinly sliced ham and the cheese was those pre-prepared slices, costing £6.95 each, which is expensive for such low quality. The sandwiches came with crisps which were just cheap ones and not the high-quality ones you would expect. My son had a coke which was just given to him in a bottle (for £2.65). The person served it asked 'do you want me to pour it'? Er yes please. That is called serving someone a drink. The staff were not trained well in good manners customer service was poor. We also had to listen to a conversation about the difference between street fighting and boxing from these young boys. Again, no awareness of the customer and their experience. I suspect this business is a 'here one minute, gone the next' because the name of the game in tourism is longevity and these people are here purely to make a few quid, caring nothing for the customer experience. We would not go there again.

I walked past the Saltwater Grill when looking for somewhere I hadn't eaten before and saw a few families eating outside and the food looked great and they were smiling - good enough for me to explore further. It was a hot day and I decided on their courtyard under some shade. Lots of tables there and maybe I caught it after a busy lunch, so still not 100% cleared up. The staff were lovely and I decided on the fresh prawns - were they freshly caught - not sure but they were tasty - the salad and chips were nice too - as a late lunch it was ideal portion size. I felt the pricing was good and when I go back to Lulworth, if I eat there - I would happily return. I think and probably understandably, they may be trying to cram too much into the space furniture wise and also too much on the menu - offer options you do well and if people don't like it - they can go elsewhere. I am sure you will get enough repeat business.
