The Sailmakers Pub and Restaurant in Kingston upon Hull, City of

Come here regularly for a Family Meal and today we ordered Gammon Skillets from the so called grill but to our dissapointment we were served half of the described meal on a Council White plate. When we asked the server what was going on the response was "We have ran out of Onions" Clueless Staff that cannot even fulfill the advertised Menu is a huge positive for this venue today, major dissapointment and will not be back.

Called with the grandchildren Saturday morning for breakfast, there was four of us. Really good selection at amazing prices, we opted for the pancakes for the children which arrived with a generous covering of strawberries and cream, one normal sized full English and one extra large ! Wow, absolutely 💯 all round. Everything cooked to perfection and arrived piping hot, ample portions with added toast. The mushrooms were to die for, sauté with seasoning, would definitely recommend 👌 We spoke to the assistant manager on shift asking to give our compliments to the chef , she said his name was Terry and was very popular, so a massive pat on the back Terry, well definitely be visiting again!

Great experience, great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, good views of the Humber, great sports bar and big tv and kids play area.

Hand down, the best Green King I've visited. Atmosphere is great and benefits from an beer garden overlooking the humber. Staff 10/10 Food 10/10 Location 10/10

Back in the old local it’s been a while . Staff are still super friendly and the food is always up to par . Great job from the team all around . 5 star service. As Mr Gary Barlow would say . Absolutely bloody fantastic

We travelled on a coach from St Helens to watch a game of rugby league. As you can imagine, when 2 coaches turn up, there are a lot of people wanting to be served quickly. Staff handled it really well and were very polite and friendly with the customers. The pub was nice and spacious and has nice outside areas to the front and the side.

Decent all round. Good value for what we got, good, friendly service, would recommend, we will be coming back very shortly with more family members! Good atmosphere and quaint

The location is amazing as you get to see over the Humber. We ordered the BBQ Meat sharer for 2 of us which was more than enough to share! The meat fell off the bone which is great and easy to eat. The staff were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed for the meals. Thank you!

Fab time had, there was 17 of us altogether and the service was really fast. Food was lovely, as was the service. 3 chicken sharers, mixed grills (steaks cooked as they should be) and other meals spot on 🙂

Popped in on the off chance for something to eat , so welcoming as I walked in serve food till 9pm and chatty aswel we was served by Charlie who gave us some good recommendations and couldn’t of been any friendlier! Will definitely be back :)

A great place for food, service and atmosphere. We will certainly go back in the near future. The cooking was wonderful and the portions were very substantial.

Lovley home cooked good , always something nice on the menu , comfy seating inside and plenty of space outside with heaters to each table , plenty of drinks to choose from , also a cheeky hot chocolate , a great family run pub always welcoming

been going here weekly for a year now with no complaint. Oh dear what has happened asked for sizzler gammon did not come as a sizzler , warm chips a spoon full of peas and a fried egg that was over fried and un eatable. Husbands a little better. I asked why they were not sizzlers, reply was they have no onions. Surley we should have been informed. Will think twice about returning as a few have left same review. have they a new chef?

Came here for some light lunch, walked in to filthy chairs and tables. Everything was dark and dingy. No welcome from any staff.

My wife and I called in for a drink and a bite to eat. As soon as we walked through the door we were met by a smile from a member of staff who was very helpful and polite. We went to the bar to order drinks and the young man behind the bar was also polite and helpful. We sat down and ordered the special offer which was 2 main meals for £11.99. The food was hot and very nice. I would like to congratulate the staff on their excellent service.

Amazing food for everyone separate gluten-free menu. Great price amazing food tastes brilliant would definitely go back. I didn’t take any pictures because I was so hungry. But it was worth it.

We’ve been coming to sailmakers every week for a good year now but the last 3/4 times we hav eaten the steak skillets have been really bad the portions are just enough to feed a child our most recent visit 02/02/2024 we ordered a skillet it didn’t come sizzling like it should the food was cold I asked 3 times for peppercorn sauce which I’d paid for separately ! By the time it did my husband had finished his meal who also said his meal was cold and very small but ate it anyway as he was soo hungry . I complained to the waitress I’ll get you some more chips ? I explained I’d still not received my peppercorn sauce either she was gone ages in the meantime my food was even colder . She brought 2 bowls of hot chips out & peppercorn sauce I said the rest of my food is cold my husband has eaten his she said you can still eat the chips I told her I want a refund I’m not paying for a child’s portion of food that is stone cold she said ok I’ll will have to take your meal away so she did and offered a free pudding ? Which I declined This will be the last time I eat in at the sailmakers !!! don’t know if they have a new chef and been told to cut back on portions 11 cold chips an 8oz Luke warm rump as big as the palm of my hand With a table spoon of peas half of tomatoe doesn’t even fill the skillet the plate just looks empty good job we ordered extras 4 pieces of scampi & 5 onion rings what a insult

A fantastic place right at the side of the river with excellent views. The food came in quick time and was all excellent. We were served by a young man called Charlie who was very professional and looked after us to a very high standard all in all a thourougly enjoyable experience from start to finish

We arrived early staff very friendly. Ordered 3 coke zesros got Dr Pepper. Our starters came and the corn was cold. We ordered 3 Roast Beef Sunday lunch but when it came the cauliflower was mainky storks and hard, The Roast Potatoes were flat and the roast beef was very fattie.

I have eaten here on numerous occasions as I am a coeliac and you offer a good choice of gluten free meals. On a previous occasion I had the GF Chick n Mix, it was very good and good value for money. As I had enjoyed it so much we thought we would return last night, I wish I hadn’t. I had it last night and to say I was underwhelmed would be an understatement, two small pieces of chicken breast, which looked like a very small breast had been halved, a small white pot with pulled chicken thighs, if the meat in there was from two thighs I would be amazed if the chicken would have been able to stand! The jacket potato was ok, however, please get proper butter not some cheap nasty margarine. The mixed salad was nice. When the server cleared the plates they commented that everything had been eaten, when I replied that’s because it wasn’t a very big portion they sheepishly walked off. On balance I did get a discount using a blue light card so did I get a smaller portion because of this, although I have used it before and never had an issue. Plus point my wife had a steak and she enjoyed it very much. I wish now that I had taken a photograph, mine looked like a child’s portion compared to hers.

Came to celebrate my partners daughters 13th birthday. I am very nervous about places i have not eaten before and it was so welcoming even for a Saturday evening. The food was brought out so quickly and was amazing. Would definitely recommend

Got here 1900hrs. Staff greeted us on arrival and although the place was busy Theresa, found us a table straight away, very impressed with her attention to detail and making us feel very welcome from the minute we got through the door!! Jack and Brooke table service was second to none and are both very friendly and approachable, ot are credit to Saillmakers and never stopped serving customers and clearing table very efficiently. We defo recommend the Flame Grilled Flatbread with choice of filling - beautiful and fresh food!! Thank You to ALL staff for making out FIRST visit memorable and we will DEFO be returning!!
