Our experience started as 5 stars with a warm welcome and great food! We then order an extra dish (chilli chicken) because we enjoyed our first lot of food. This however wasn’t very great and tasted like fried chicken that had been sitting for a while tossed in ketchup and peppers. After going back and fourth with the waitress who offered a refund and then back tracked we asked to speak to her manager who was the rudest, stuck and most self cantered person I’ve ever come across. With no understanding of customer service or just general communication. Utterly embarrassing and a disgrace to the restaurant. After compromising and shoving a menu at us and stomping off we order a replacement dish, which we waited 45 minutes for. We then went to the kitchen, all the cooks looked at us knowing there’s an issue, then the chef tells us all the fryers off and he can’t make it, because they’d been told not to make food for us, in hope we’d wait give up and leave. The chef said he would give us 2 desserts instead (which is what is comprised and asked the manager to give us- in which he shouted in our face and said 1 dish only, despite 2 desserts being the value of 1 dish). The attitude of this manger is the worse I have ever experienced and for such a successful restaurant it was and absolute joke to cause such a fuss over £10. No point going around shaking hands with people around the restaurant when you have no understanding for true customer service. I hope he feels ashamed of the way he spoke to us, what an embarrassment. Such a shame as general service was great as well as first lot of food. You need to do better, and stay humble.

For a restaurant heavily honouring Sidhu Moose wala what a dishonouring experience. My experience today has been a complete disgrace to the values of Sidhu. Never have I come across such appalling attitude from a manager. No understanding of how to treat customers respectfully, patronising and an embarrassment. It’s all well using the face and the name of Sidhu as marketing and promotion for your restaurant, true success comes with actually understanding the teachings he left us with. So disappointed with the way management treated and dealt with us. What a shame for what started off as a great experience.

Have eaten at Royal Oak so many times, food was good to begin with steadily over time the quality has declined. Over priced dishes with poor flavours. Ordered saag: no taste of garlic or ginger, tasted out of tin! Had tarka dhal just runny yellow water with coriander. Wasted £17 on 2 dishes. I expected better, fame has gone to their head! Will not eat here again, better food places elsewhere on Soho rd, would not recommend, ever. Think the good chef has left.

Visited this restaurant with extended family; we ordered drinks, starters, and main dishes. Food was delicious and good portion sizes. Spicy level and flavour varied, which I liked a lot. We had to get our own water glasses and pitcher for our table. We ordered at the bar as well. For a large group, I expected table service from a server/waiter. Clean and modern atmosphere, but more pub-like than Indian restaurant with large screens everywhere and the bar being the central feature in the restaurant. Great if you want to meet up with friends for a drink and curry. Not so great if you want dinner with family. I’m curious about the old farm tractor on top of the awning at the entrance… 😊

Don't be put off by the main road / area, if you LOVE desi food in a clean, stylish, open and airy environment then look no further than Royal Oak. I was taken to the Royal Oak by some friends last week and the first thing that grabs your attention is the murals dedicated to the late Sidhu Moosewala (Panjabi Superstar) on the left and right hand side of the main building as well as the 5911 tractor on the balcony. Attention to detail is sublime. When you walk in, you see a sleek, stylish and great looking bar with large sky glass windows bringing in a lot of natural light. Like with most proper Desi mixed grill places, you scan through the menu and order at the kitchen section. I am vegan so spoke with the girl taking our order and she gave so much focus to it that she advised me of dishes to avoid as they COULD have cross contamination with paneer (let alone meat)! This was fantastic. We ordered a number of dishes including the soya curry, soya chilli and tandoori roti with masala chips. The lads ordered a mixed grill and it was massive and delicious (according to them). The food came relatively quickly and the taste was amazing. Definitely what you expect from an establishment with such a stellar reputation. Keep up the great work, really impressed. I can't wait to go back! 10/10.

This is a spacious Punjabi pub and offers a family-friendly eating out experience. Our party of 6 walked in for dinner on a Sunday and they easily found a table for us. The ambiance is infused with the musical legacy of Siddhu Moosewala whose theme is big in the interior as it is on the exterior of the pub. There are plenty of options for both vegetarian and meat lovers. In fact, I think the veggies selection is the most varied I’ve seen in pubs around this area. Service is good and fast. The food tastes nice and it is close to an authentic experience of the Punjabi cuisine. The corn & cashew rolls were the best of the starters that we tried and the chana masala was my favorite main curry. Pricing is reasonable. I really liked the function hall’s décor, which is located at the end of the main dining area and will definitely consider booking it for a party.

Tried this venue for the 1st time as we usually eat locally in Wolves. The food here was amazing. Medium mixed grill is for 2 people and large for 3. The cost was slightly more in comparison to my local but was worth it, IMO. The place is big, clean and modern. A shrine to Moosewalla, as you can see by the many photos posted. Parking is on side streets, but we were lucky as found 1 straight away (on Sunday, but I'm not sure what it's like on a Friday or Saturday). Check the closing times, BTW, as they close earlier than most pubs. I would defo recommend it and will be returning 👌.

Mmmm. Had a delivery, Wonderful meal. Even the keema naan was loaded, just like the good old days.

Went for a meal with family. Unfortunately the staff don’t know much about vegan food so couldn’t direct us properly, the menu was unclear too. An allergen menu should really be available. One waiter was extremely rude to my sister and very passive aggressive when she simply was asking what she could and couldn’t eat. However, Noah was SO helpful and a real pleasure! He saved our experience and deserves a raise! Food was fine, would like to see better vegan option

The food was amazing! Especially the chappali kebabs best I've had.
